[Q] How to get started? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've rooted my phone and flashed roms to it, but never my Xoom tablet. I just did a factory reset on my wifi-only Xoom.
Is the Lord AIO tool still the current best way to unlock/root the device and get CWM installed?
Is CWM the best way to get a 4.2.x rom installed?
Does anyone have an installable zip for 6.3.1 of CWM?

[Q] How get Lates Version CWM recovery ?

Hi guys anyone can help me get the latest version Clockwordmod recovery for the rooting process? Please help, thanks ..
well if i understand your ? your looking to root your phone ? correct? if so you will need to root your phone first once your phone is rooted you can download rommanager from android market and it will download the latest avalible clockworkmod recovery to your device
any ? just inbox me
just look for a guide on how to root like the guy above said. what phone do you have? you may also want to look at TWRP as your recovery manager. i was having some issues with clockwork with my evo3d, so i decided to gove TWRP a try. when it comes to clockwork, be careful about the newest version. for some reason my 3d refused to work with anything later than CW 4.0.4 or something like that... odd anyway just makesure you can reflash the old version if you update
If you are trying to port CWM to your device, you can just get CyanogenMod source code from github. It contains the latest CWM source.

CWM on TF300T w/Jellybean

Hey Guys,
I am having trouble Installing CWM Recovery on My Tf300T after upgrading to Jellybean firmware.
Since my device is unlocked I had to download and install the 'official Jellybean ROM' from online. (WW Version, since I am in Australia).
Jellybean is working great (Through I have noticed that is sucks up about 100mb + more ram than ICS did) but whenever I try to install and run CWM Mod, it just hangs.
Any ideas on a fix?
P.S. I had CWM and Root installed before I updated to Jellybean but the update seemed to get rid of both of those
TWRP for the win!
I just installed TWRP and it's working fine. I prefer Clockword but after some browsing the net, I found others who have had issues with it.
So just a note here: There are issues with Flashing CWM via fastboot on the TF300 with Jellybean

[Q] 4.0.3 to 4.2 Upgrade Clarification

So I've been running the stock 4.0.3 Android on my TF300T for a very long time. at one point Idownloaded the asus provided unlocking tool, unlocked the device and installed CWM 5.5 and IIRC rooted the device in prep to run a custom ROM. I never got around to doing this but now I am ready to get this thing updated to the latest firmware ASUS provides ( V10.6.1.15.3)
There seems to be a mess of issues with the 4.2 bootloaders and such. So being a complete newbie to the world of Android I want to make sure I do not brick my TF300T or ruin it in any way.
As I understand... I can simply download the firmware. Unzip the .zip file to my SD card, boot into the currently installed CWM, install the new 4.2 update and all I will need to do in install an updated recovery for 4.2 afterwards correct?
EDIT: My plan is to use This guide >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187982 << I just want clarification that I can update to the TeamWin recovery after installing 4.2

Make sure you look into nvflash before you go updating to later firmwares because once you leave ICS you'll lose the option. Im not sure how many people here have access to nvflash because they brought their tf300t with JB pre-installed and dont have the chance to use nvflash as the exploit used is patched. But i was lucky and and took advantage of it while i was still on ICS, i would have bricked my tf300t 10 times over if it wernt for nvflash.
It makes your tf300t unbrickable, and lets you flash back to 4.0.1 bootloader if you have issues with 4.2:good:
And to answer your question yes you can update the 4.2 version of twrp AFTER the update with fastboot

[Q] Trying to install 4.4

Brand new to this tablet. So I had the stock 4.2.1 software and I wanted to try out the CM11 4.4 rom. I flashed that but recieved a fail on TWRP. I was hoping that flashing CWM would fix it but no dice. I want to go back to stock but I have no access to fastboot and it bootloops into CWM. any help with this?
Ok I have managed to recover the tablet to boot using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44244313#post44244313  Now, how do I install 4.4? Whenever I tried to install it using TWRP 2.6, it always fails on me.

[Q] Help flashing custom ROM on ME301t

First, apologies for asking another "how to flash" , like the various existing threads. I had already hard bricked the same tab once, don't want it to happen again. I was able to get a used motherboard for this tab and got it to work. Currently on 4.2.1, build no. JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.31-20130823
I really would like some one who has the same tab as mine, to give me a step by step guide ( or point me to an existing link ) on how to flash recovery ( cwm or twrp, what version, fast-boot method or via rom manager, goo manager? etc ) after unlocking the boot-loader, and then flashing the custom ROM, installing the kernel. Looking to install either Omni ROM or CM11.
-bump-
Anyone?
