[Q] mail synching issue - HTC One Mini

Hi all,
I have an HTC one mini from UK Vodafone. Using the built in mail app, not the gmail app, i have a problem.
If I set the polling time to 5 mins it is just ignored and I dont get mail until I manually such.
Does anyone else have thus issue? I am using a correctly configured pop 3 mail account
All the best,
Sam

Yahoo Email Question

Is anyone else having issues with yahoo failing to sync when sending/receive emails? I have the HTC Fuze and using email setup, I also tried setting it up manually but I doesnt really matter as sometimes it will work the it stops working.
Just curious.
Thanks..
I was having issues with gmail not sending emails but receiving.
I set up my yahoo account which I use for spam and that sent and received so I deleted my gmail account and set it back up and now it works.
Hopefully that helps you out.
try to reset the phone. happens to me with aol mail
I only use WiFi or BT for my mails, and have the issue with Yahoo-mail that in my home net I can't send mail, only receive. At work I can do both. I think this has to do with some blocked port by the internet provider.

[Q] email problems - email vanishes...

Ok, I have a number of email related problems...
I'm using POP to sync with my business email, hosted on a managed server.
I can access email no problem, and send.
But, I have the phone set-up to check for mail every 30 mins or so, and it does this ok, and reports 'X' new messages, but when I go to the mail app it shows 'no mail', and I have to refresh to actually see the mail. Very, very annoying, and I guess is costing me more as the phone is data downloading twice! A real issue as I'm 'roaming' a lot...
With mail receiving that's about all the problems. but I'd love a fix if it's something I'm doing wrong.
But, with sent mail the phone seems to decide to delete all sent mail, no matter what setting I have set for mail.
I have no idea why this happens, and more importantly how to stop it.
All previous phones (this is my first Android one) kept all sent mail until I deleted it.
Any ideas regarding these problems?
Clear your mail data from setting and do a fresh mail set up afterwards. Good luck
Ok, trying now...
Is this a known problem???

[Q] Slow gmail notifications?

Is anyone else seeing very slow notifications of new gmail messages on their HTC One S?
My HTC Desire also received them within a few seconds, but the One S seems to take up to 15 minutes to get them. I can't find any settings to change, HTC seem to have hidden away any options?
Thanks
I seem to have found my own solution - I have an Exchange account also configured on the device, and I had "Smart Sync" enabled for it.
Changing that to "Push notification" has seemingly moved gmail to push notifications too...
So if i don't have an exchange account I'm likely to have problems with mail coming in slow?
No, I think it's a bug (or "feature") when you configure an Exchange email account, alongside a gmail account.
If you don't configure an Exchange account at all, then Gmail seems to run fine - it's only if I configure Exchange, then select "Smart Sync" as the email collection method, that Gmail also becomes affected by the Smart sync policy.
Since it seems as though you found the solution I'm going to close this. Pm me if you need it reopened.

[Q] Stock email sending intermittent blank emais via gmail set up as exchange

Hi!
I'm having a very irritating problem and was hoping someone could help.
I am running stock ICS on my skyrocket, and I have my gmail account set up as exchange in the stock mail app. I can generally send/receive just fine, however I have one friend who 50% of the time seems to receive my email responses to her emails as blank. When I look at them in my sent folder of gmail on my computer, they show up as blank there as well, making this massively irritating since I then have to re-type the entire message.
Any idea what's causing this? I actually was having the same problem emailing her on my Nexus 7 as well from the stock email set up in the same fashion as my phone. And she does not have this problem with anyone else.
Thanks!

Receiving multiple times the same e-mails in Gmail

Hello,
i have a odd problem with Gmail on a Nexus 5X running stock Android 6.0.1. I didn't find any solution using Google so far...
What I did:
- changed my phone from Nexus 4 to a Nexus 5X, on the Nexus 4 everything worked fine (running CyanogenMod 13)
- set up two mail accounts in Gmail (one is GMX and one of my university). Incoming servers are both IMAP.
- set the synchronization to every 30min
The problem:
every 30min when the mails are synchronized I get a notification for new mail, I read them, everything is fine. The next 30min when it gets synchronized again I get the same mails marked as unread (plus additional mails I may received). Even if I delete the mails on my phone I get them again. Same behaviour on both accounts.
Shouldn't there be something like a respond to the server that the client already received/deleted those mails? I think I also used IMAP on the Nexus 4 and no problems with it.
I hope someone knows how to fix it, it would be highly appreciated!
Thanks
solved
A Gmail update (v. 6.6.126913422) today solved the issue!
