i just want to share a trick how to
deleted .thimbnail folder in DCIM
what is thumbnails?
Thumbnails are reduced-size
versions of pictures, used to
help in recognizing and
organizing them, serving the
same role for images as a
normal text index does for
words. In the age of digital
images , visual search
engines and image-
organizing programs normally
use thumbnails, as do most
modern operating systems or
desktop environments, such
as Microsoft Windows , Mac
OS X , KDE ( Linux ) and
GNOME (Linux ).
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Thumbnail
so.... if we look at the folder
thumbnails
always bulky and uses a lot of
memory .... if they are removed
automatically returns
this a little trick
- DELETED .thumbnails folder using
root explorer
- push menu button and make a new
file
- make a new file n give a
name .thumbnails
- move to DCIM folder
n look....youll never see .thumbnail
again with a big size
i got this from my friend n i give credit
to him
and some one has found this trick
sorrt my bad english
Thanks mate
So you mean we should replace it!??

For personal reasons, I want to kill solitaire in my WM6 phone. Not just the shortcut, I want it removed from the Windows directory! Not to save money but to keep me from playing it !
It is a protected system file on board the phone - how do I permantly kill it?
I will just play one game of solitaire, then check if there is an answer - doh!!!
make a rom from scratch which dont include the exe files
I want to avoid making a ROM like that, but I guess that is the only way? I did not know this file was part of the ROM - Read Only Memory - so I have to live with it then ... any other way to kill it without damaging the unit?
try this.
install resco explorer.
look in the /windows folder and find out the name of the solitare executable. (most likely solitare.exe)
make a empty text file on your comp. , rename it to the the file you want to del. (from newfile.txt to solitare.exe---->the icon should change to that of an executable file)
copy this file onto your sd card and with resco explorer copy this file into the windows directory...it should ask you permission to overwrite.
reboot
Using Total Commander, go to folder \windows\start menu\programs\games\ and remove (delete) the lnk file related to Solitaire. It will not delete the executable but will make it invisible. Out of sight is out of mind!
The real answer
You need to get hold of self_control_v1.exe but I can't remember where I got it from. It's the same program that stops me eating too much.
LOL

Great minds think alike.
This won't delete the file, but it will mask it with another file. (The file is still in the ROM.)

it should actually delete the file (you are over writing it with another file of the same name)
Cool, it worked!
Or, at least I am not smart enough to find and run Solitare.exe any more ...
Mission complete!
Trial version of Resco did it, but it will run out in 7 days. Wonder if it is worth to keep it, now that I HAVE killed Solitare.exe?
Yesterday i cleaned my application data\home, cause there where lots of themes i installed and didn´t use. I make a big mistake deleting the nomru.home.xml . This whas one of the Original Windows Mobile 6 themes. Googled a lot, but didn´t find a page to download this file.
So please, can someone upload this file for me ? It´s the one without the application shortcuts at the top.
Thousand thx in advance
Go to yours device \Windows directory with file explorer, unhide rom files, there is your missing file nomru.home.xml, just copy it to \Application Data\Home.
Use for example Resco Explorer.
Thank you man. I didn´t think that this was so easy.
i switched roms acouple times today and this has happened one other time.
All my video files not the folders or subtitles or anything just the video files themselves have been deleted.
Using brilliant corners and bottle o smoke and bam they are gone...
all you have to do is make a no media file. basically make a new text doc on your computer and just save it as ".nomedia" You do not have to write anything in the file. This will tell the tablet not to delete any files out of this folder. put this file in every folder that has media items. I hope this helps.
Hmmm...I've never had that happen to me, but thanks for the tip fosser2
It's a known issue and easily fixed with the .nomedia file. Beware though that windows won't let you create such a file. I think most android file managers will allow you to create a file and rename it ".nomedia".

You can easily make this file form windows. Right-click on any explorer window and choose New>Text file. Then just rename it to .nomedia instead of NewTextDocument.txt or whatever the default is.
Scratch that. Windows says "type a file name" or something. Just use notepad++ as someone else mentioned...
Simple and easy way on how you can add custom fonts to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word android app.
Prerequisite:
RAR file archiver app OR any other similar app.
Your custom TrueType font (TTF) file.
OBB data file location:
Excel - Android/obb/com.microsoft.office.excel/*.OBB
PowerPoint - Android/obb/com.microsoft.office.powerpoint/*.OBB
Word - Android/obb/com.microsoft.office.word/*.OBB
Steps:
Open RAR file archiver app.
Copy the .TTF font you prefer.
Locate and open the .OBB file.
Go to the folder: fonts.
Paste your font.
Links:
RAR file archiver — https://goo.gl/g3Nj7U
Notes:
In order to appear your font to the app's UI clear it's data from the settings, then relaunch the app.
The Opaque Binary Blob (OBB) data file can be found either on your device's internal memory OR external memory (SD card).
Thread Update — http://goo.gl/kBPaZO
The video was very helpful...
cannot open .obb
I cant open the .obb..cant open pdf (main......obb is of invalid format)

Did you use RAR file archiver? Cause I tried this before using FX file explorer but it doesn't work. RAR file archiver was my option.

Or maybe while the app is setting up things and downloading the .OBB file something went wrong... Btw here's a new thread for the newer version of Office apps that currently doesn't have these .OBB files.
OP, there's no reason to create new threads for updates. Just edit and update the one and only thread next time. Otherwise you only create confusion and forum clutter.
You've already linked to the new thread, so I'll close this one.

Dear friends,
for months I was struggling with the auto-created folders named LazyList and LOST.DIR
These are folders that are created automatically by the file system, but sometimes I have found, especially in the LOST.DIR folder, duplicated and previously deleted files, also big, very big ones.
Why a so great waste of storage?
So I wanted to get rid of that!
And after some "Guru meditations" I have found the trick to achieve it.
It is a very simple trick, that's related to the file system itself.
Since it is a rule that where there is a folder there cannot be a file with the same name, simply creating a file with a specified name will make it impossible, even to the system, to create a folder with the same name, and vice-versa.
So, if we want to get rid of the infamous folder LOST.DIR, simply delete it and create, a, even empty, file with the same name!
The file system will be forced to not create that folder, anymore!
Freedom to manage storage.
Man vs Filesystem: 1-0
Hope this will be useful to everyone that takes care of their storage

I must say I didn't believe it, so I tried to create a lost.dir folder and lost.dir file in the same directory on my computer.
And you were right!
