Hello,
Today I wanted to try CM 10.2, so i did an backup of my actual CROMI 4.7. Then I wiped the tablet and after this I flashed CM 10.2.
I used it for half an hour and decided to restore back to CROMI. I startet the restore in TWRP but at the point restore data it says fail.
I did this also with older backups everytime it says fail at the data restore.
Finaly i downloaded the actual CROMI Zip with my computer put it on the microSD and flashed it. Everything looked good but it does not start.
In middle of the bootanimation the tablet restarts.
What can I do to flash any rom?
PLEAS HELP
Thanks

Try this:
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Select Mount and uncheck System, Cache and Data
3. Go to Advanced, then Terminal Command, then hit Select Folder to start Terminal
4. type "e2fsck -fvyD /dev/block/mmcblk0p8" and press return. Wait for the process to finish (this is for Data)

Hi,
I installed CM 10.2 on my A510 to try it out, did a full wipe, and got stuck in a boot loop. Wiped again and reinstalled but had the same issue. I have tried again with CM 10.1.3 and the AOKP roms but have the same issue, full wipe before each install. Right now I cannot get past the boot screen where the tablet restarts and tries again and again and again etc....
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks
When you say Full Wipe, it means Factory reset ?
Did you try to restore a Backup with CWM or TWRP ?
Yes factory reset. I tried restoring with CWM but each of my backups fail to restore either failing to restore /data or /system.

Yes to all the above. Did the stock ROM one hour ago and doesn't boot loop buts just sticks at the iconia tab logo. Also when I try to get recovery now I just get a dead Android picture.
Edit: Using Stock ROM I get a message that Android is upgrading Optimizing aa 1 of 46, 2 of 46, 3 of 46 and it then retorns to the iconia tab logo and stays there
I finally got the tablet working again by installing the original ROM using fastboot for each of system, flexrom, boot and recovery. I then installed 10.2 which works OK apart from the fact that when using Titanium to restore my apps the tablet reboots randomly. So far I've only managed to restore 10% of my apps.
EDIT: Constant reboots now regardless of what I'm doing, downloading, installing etc. Going to try another ROM, 10.1 or AOKP. On 10.1 now, restoring apps from Google works for a while but after a certain stage random reboots starts again.
Lastest, back in endless boot loop. Tried restoring by fastboot but flexrom restore fails every time.
I have a similar problem on my A700... Installed 10.2 and then suddenly did not boot anymore. Tried to flash the nighly before the newest one but id did not change. Then i made a backup in CWM and formatted DATA. Now i boots but if i restore the backup, it won't boot. I can find my files in a 0\0\0\0\0 Folder or something like that. So nothing is lost, but it's not in the running system.
How to restore these files and apps?
After at least 25 wipes and flashing various roms 10.1 10.2 and AOKP I think my tablet is reasonably stable now. I formatted - /data /system /flexrom internal storage, everything except the external sd a few times then installed and have only had one random reboot since 2am. Instead of restoring from titanium or direct from Google I reinstalled all my apps individually and the restored my data from titanium. Hopefully this will be the end of this.

Hello,
First sorry for my English, i´m from Spain and i read-speak only a little.
I've been searching for a solution for my problem but i cannot find it.
On Friday when I had in my hands my TF101 (i just in chrome browser) just restarted, and restarted it again in a loop.
The first thing I did was go to Recovery ( CWM Recovery 3.2.0.1 -r1 Roach2010 ) to run a backup .
I try a cold boot, without results.
Then I try to restore to a previous backup and follows restarting.
Next i try was to install the stockrom I had previously installed, the last StockRom recovery from wipes and did the install , reboot the blue bar goes loading screen asus just restarts and restarts and restarts.
I think that the installation can't be completed because the restart.
Then, I do a wipe data/factory reset and I get an error.
I can not delete a file(/data/data/com.asus.reader/cache/files/media_external_file176Satellite.pdf ) and CWM cancel the formatting /data.
I try to make a format / data and I get the same error.
I´ve tried doing all wipes (data can't) installing all my previous buckups. Everything seems to be installed but reboot continue.
Otherwise I tried to connect to the PC ( 3 to be exact) OS: Vista x64, 7, 7 x64, Linux x64, Linux live cd.
I pressed Pwr + Vol + from 6-60 sg, after shutoff my tablet from CWM, connecting the usb cable before or after and no detects the TF101 .
I ordered a new cable, but mine seems to be good and i can charge the TF101 without problems.
I have read as Xda-topics as I can , I haven't seen in any solution to my problem ( CWM Recovery working + no format data + bootloop + pc no connection).
I´m afraid of brick my tablet. Only lives in recovery, no Android (reboot), no apx, no adb.
What can i do to format /data ?
Can I flash from my actual CWM another Recovery (maintaining the functionality of the microsd ) as TWRP? what happend if failed?
Thanks
PD. I really learn a lot with this problem reading yours posts.
Thanks
1.) Put this flashable zip on your Micro SDCard
http://nexfiles.kjonigsen.net/tf101/twrp/twrp2.6-tf101-unofficial.beta.zip
2.) Flash it from inside CWM Recovery
3.) Reboot tablet into recovery, check that TWRP is the new recovery
4.) Copy this ROM on to MicroSD Card
http://downloads.timduru.org/android/tf101/K.A.T/KatKiss/dev/KatKiss-4.2.2_226.zip
5.) Copy Gapps onto Micro SDCard
http://goo.im/devs/teameos/roms/eos4/gapps/gapps_4.2.2_TF101_20130323b.zip
6.) Boot into TWRP recovery
7.) Wipe SYSTEM, DATA, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE
8.) Flash ROM, Flash Gapps,
9.) Wipe CACHE and DALVIK CACHE one more time
10.) Reboot into working Jellybean ROM
The above will wipe everything clean and install a fresh JellyBean ROM to your tablet
First thank you very much Detection.
My new usb cable should arrive today and i'll try to apx mode recongnition.
In any case I downloading the files you provided me, but i have one question

Here i must to reboot into new recovery from old recovery. Not need reboot tablet to OS (bootloop) ¿ok?
Thanks, thanks, thanks.
Edit:
I do it, i flashed TWRP, reboot and reboot into RCK. ok
Now copying camera data to microsd, and ready for wipes.
Thanks.
Sounds like you are making good progress
No need to reboot into OS, just into new TWRP recovery, then wipe and flash new ROMs etc

Yes, thanks.
I plugged my tf 101 with my new cable and now is detected in windows 7 x64. Naked drivers installed.
But before that, i flash TWRP recovery and it's fantastic. I can copy all my photos to microsd. I need to have this out TF101.
Now i installing the rom and gapps, but seems to be freeze on the four colour circles screen.
More than 20 minutes.
I'm thinking on reflash all an try again.
Thanks Detection.
Make sure you wiped everything before flashing the ROM & Gapps
The animation should not freeze during boot
I do all wipe data, cache, system, dalvik.
flash rom
flash gapps
wipe cache and dalvik
reboot.
and, not freeze but keeps moving and now + 30 minutes.
Something's bad.
I'm thinking on trying apx mode to solve.
Maybe
EDIT - See if it boots without Gapps first (Wipe everything again but only flash ROM)
1.) EDIT - Try this
http://www.putlocker.com/file/42672030BC26BD2F
Use Easyflasher to flash TWRP again, then try wiping and flashing ROM and Gapps again
IF THE ABOVE FAILS DO THIS:
2.) Ok, try this to rebuild the Partitions, this will flash the stock ROM to your tablet, if you have SBK1 (Serial number B6O or before, some B7Os)
http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Asus%2FAsus+Transformer+%28TF101%29%2FSTOCK+ROMS%2FICS+.27
Choose US or WW
Connect TF to PC > Power Off TF > Put TF into APX mode (Vol Up & Power)
PC will recognise TF but nothing on TF screen will show
Extract the ROM above > Run download.bat as Admin (Right click > Run as Administrator)
Let it flash the ROM, this takes a while, maybe 10+ minutes
If that works, and you can boot, we can use Easyflasher to root and install TWRP again, and then flash Jellybean ROM again
I tried flashing rom and gapps again. No works, keeps on 4 turning circles screen. I leave it all night connected to AC Power. This morning was in the same screen.
I tried flashing rom, wipes, reboot. No works keeps on 4 turning circles screen. After 1 hour i restarted.
I'm going to try easyFlasher metod. I'll update progress.
My tf101 is B80 that's Sbk2. ok? Then, how can i rebuilt the partitions?
Thanks.
UPDATE 1.
easyFlasher WORKED¡¡¡¡¡¡
Now I'm on Stock.
I flash recovery and also WORKED¡¡¡¡¡
Next work:
Fisrt root
Afteri ready to KatKiss.
UPDATE 2.
Flashed superuser.
Reboot
Flash KatKiss 226 and gapps.
Then not reboot. But coldboot done.
¡¡¡SOLVED!!!
Thanks Detection.
Ok, you can't use NVFlash with SBK2, but you can use Easyflasher
Try using Easyflasher I posted here in SBK2 mode and flash TWRP
http://www.putlocker.com/file/42672030BC26BD2F
Then try wiping everything and flashing ROM and Gapps again
If it still won't work, wipe again and try a different ROM

I believe that you have a bootloop... Can you tell us what is your bootloader version or firmware version? What is your TWRP version also? You may need to wipe your system to get it up and running again...
Thx LetMeKnow,
I'm using twrp 2.6.1.0. Bootloader number is 10.6.1.14.10-20130601.
When you tell about a wipe, full wipe with full install of the rom again? I will have to do a backup, data only is enough for apps installed?
thx

Your TWRP and firmware are good... I think that your data partition is corrupted and these are my suggestions..
1. In your TWRP, go to Advance and file manager, copy all your personal stuff to your external SD so you will not loose them when you format your data partition.
2. In your TWRP, do a nandroid backup of system, data, and boot
3. Try this first, Wipe everything except your system and your external SD and reboot...:fingers-crossed: If your device is up and running then it is telling you that you have a data partition corruption.. So your data backup from TWRP is useless..
4. If step 3 did not work, then your system is corrupted..You may want to do these.
--Format your data partition
--Wipe everything except your external SD
--Reinstall Cromi x and reboot so you a totally clean installion...
--Now you can restore your data backup and hope that it is not corrupted
--Good luck ....:fingers-crossed:

It's not a bootloop if he's stuck on the boot animation. If it keeps booting back - then yes, but getting stuck on the boot animation has happened to me numerous times (and always when I was on a Hund's kernel - sorry LMK, but Hund's just doesn't work on my tab), which a simple Factory Reset (the default option in the TWRP "Wipe" menu) took care of.
If that doesn't work, then yes - you will have to format data.

The only way to diagnose the cause of "stuck at boot animation" (i.e. to gain insight instead of trying random things involving data loss) is to read the logcat.
Hello guys
Thx for all these infos. Finallly, it was the data...
Just before your answers, I've tried a wipe of cache and dalwik cache. Android's apps updated, and stuck again on logo animation.
So I've tried to update to 5.2a, with no format of data, the same arrived.
I've reinstalled the 5.2a with full wipe, and now it's ok (I will have to do it again, some options unselected are finally necessary. I will go back on 5.1.2 one if no update of 5.2a in the week.)
How can the data be corrupted? I remember, I've had installed an apk from googleplay, this apk can be faulty?
Thx

TF700 with Chrimi-x 5.2a
Hi Guys,
First post. I installed Chromi x 5.2a to my TF700 and it was working great.
I was looking at the options and it said I was using the 4.1 JB theme but I could switch to 4.2 Theme of JB. I did, and when my tablet restarted, I get a black screen and a bunch of errors once in a while.
Is there a way I can change it back to 4.1? I can't access the OS only TWRP.
Thanks!

Weird. I would re-flash the rom. It installs to the 4.1 launcher by default - but something is off... That shouldn't have happened.
Did you clean install CROMi-X?
Ok, i'm trying to install Cromi x JB 4.2.1 by flashing it from my SD card
I'm on bootloader 10.6.1.14.0
TWRP 2.6.1.0.
I flash the zip from the sd card like i've done many times with other ROMS. Everything looks fine. I go through the install steps for Cromi-x, everything appears to install correctly. I get a friendly message telling me that everything went great, to reboot my tablet, and to enjoy!
But TWRP tells me that no OS is installed. When I reboot, it goes to the ASUS splash screen and just sits.
What could I be doing wrong?

Did you mean 10.6.1.14.10? It happens to me once in a while with that issue... If you don't have anything to save and I guess that you don't. First, you could try to wipe your system, cache, and data from your twrp. Then go to mount button and manually mount your system, cache, and data then try to install your ROM again..:fingers-crossed: If it still doesn't mount your system, you have to go through the steps above with a complete shut down of your device and don't install anything if ask.. Then boot back into your twrp and manually mount all your partitions then install your ROM. Good luck...:fingers-crossed:
That usually happens when /system can't be mounted correctly or the installer didn't actually finish (even though it reported it did).
Try rebooting and wipe /system and flash again as said.
Hi All,
I am at my wit's end with my Galaxy S3 at this point. I was running CM11 M12 snapshot, but I was getting reboots at least once per hour. I decided to try to dirty flash the latest nightly, but the boot loop started then. Here's what happens:
Cold start:
1. Samsung Logo flashes
2. Galaxy S3 Cyanogenmod Logo screen, 10-20s
3. CM11 Boot animation (spinning arrow gets stuck sometimes)
4. Reboot after arrow stops
I want to format /data to try a clean flash. However, CWM reboots during this process. I can format /cache and clear the dalvik cache. I can mount and unmount /data in CWM.
Is there another way to try to format /data? It seems something is seriously corrupted (probably why I was getting reboots when I could actually load CM). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Side note: I made a nandroid backup before all of this, but CWM is giving me the classic MD5 mismatch error, so I need to fix that before restoring the backup (assuming it's not just corrupted...).
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: I followed this guide and this comment to flash back to stock.
I originally thought I had a bad emmc block, but after checking them manually (through adb shell dd in recovery) and through a CWM flashable scanning tool, I could not find a bad block. So I went back to rooted stock. Now I am deciding if I should just de-bloat stock 4.0.4 TouchWiz (it's very ugly) or try another custom ROM...

I'm not completely familiar with CWM, I've always ran either twrp or Philz. I'd maybe suggest switching to another recovery. It's personal preference but to each there own. You should be able to flash it via Odin

Thanks for looking into this. See my edit in the OP for my solution. I'm still not sure WHY it happened, but I have a working (Stock Rooted 4.0.4 TouchWiz) phone again.
