Hi
Is it possible to make an app run in the background?
The GoodSync app works great, but it is an pain in the ass that it can`t run in the background.
So if I hit last used apps, and remove all. It also removes this app. This app should run in the background, so if I wanted to close it
I had to go to the notification area or open the app from the app area to make it close.
Is this possible on an stock Note 10.1?

These are 2 apps that i would definatley get alot of use out of. but im not sure if they are even possible.
Split screen- To split the screen in half and see 2 running apps. such as the browser and calendar simultaneously? or any other combo.
App running widget- A widget that you can open an app in a window. So you can have a specific app running in that window which would be as big as the whole icon surface area. (or any size you want)
just thought i'd throw them out there. and see if anybody want to take the challenge.
is there any honeycomb friendly task manager or stock tracking Widgets?
I like to put them on the home screen but the ones I found are quite small for use on tablets.
I have never used a stock widget. As for the task manager, you don't need one. Android manages task on its own. If you happen to get a stuck app, go to settings, apps, manage apps, then find the app and stop it.

I know that's the argument about android task manage in a perfect world.
However, in actual usage I get STUCKED apps all the time. For example, if I don't disconnect from team viewer before jumping to another it gets stuck... This make it very cumbersome to go to settings app all the time.
I really need something on the home screen to kill these sticker apps.

Use Active Apps. It doesn't manage or autokill, just a widget that gives you a list of running apps and lets you close one or all with a single button. Very easy.
As for a stock ticker widget....I would love to find one too. Can't imagine there isn't one out there somewhere.

Hi guys,
I've been searching for a couple of hours now for a free app that is able to launch frozen apps from the home screen with a shortcut or something. The best i have found is 'hide apps - root' or 'HMA' as the icon says. It is able to launch the frozen app then rehide it after use. I just wanted to know if there is an app like this one so that i can put a shortcut on my home screen and launch it from there instead of opening the app, finding the frozen app then launching it.
Just so you don't think i'm up to no good, it is for some apps that use memory in the background no matter what setting i choose in the apps themselves
Thanks
-Jarrod
Basically no. I'm surprised there is even an app that will unfreeze, run the app, and refreeze afterwards. Once its frozen its equivalent to uninstall it, therefore a shortcut is not possible.
What is the full app name available for download from the market (Google play)? Maybe I can research it and find a way to make custom shortcuts for your needs.
The app is by the maker of 'root unistaller' (which also is able to launch frozen apps) and is called hide app - root, its just a trial. Hide it pro is also able to do it
That would be great if you could have a look. I don't have that much of an idea on how to do that

I'm also very surprised that such an application exists. Doesn't such a thing require a reboot since freezing an app removes all associations between the app and the system?
what about Autostarts, Its an app that you pick which apps you want to start automatically.
i dont know how freezing works but i dont think it changes much in the file system.
i was looking around with root explorer in data/app and my frozen apps were still in there. and they also appear in the setting/applications just a bit fainter than the rest.
Not really the right kind of app. i want one to launch frozen apps, not see what apps are auto starting, but that app might help speed up my phone thanks
Titanium Backup has the ability to frozen the app. You can make an shortcut to titanium backup, that you can switch from frozen to unfrozen.
But it`s not automatically :-/
Hi all,
I have an application that runs perfect, however when i exit the application it stops running.
I would like to keep it running in the background while i do other things, does anyone know of an app/task manager, that would allow me to do that?
Essentially something that would keep the app running in the background.
Thanks,

Is there any way to prevent an individual app from a running in the background on oxygenos
I ask because I recently used a Nokia + plus and it had this feture to toggle individual apps to prevent them running in the background.
I use use some apps only occasionally and I don't like the thought of them running in the background using up my resources.I know you can force stop them but that's not as user friendly. Theres inactive apps in developer options too but this needs to be checked often.
