I have ARHD 6.3.0 and for some reason my HTC sync can't find my device. I installed the HTC sync program off the HTC website and I clicked HTC sync on my phone but it's stuck on the connecting screen on my phone. And on my desktop is says no device connected. USB Debugging is ticked. I uninstalled and reinstalled HTC sync and still no avail. I was wondering if anyone can help me get this working.

I was getting ready to transfer files to my sdcard on the s3 to root when my phone stopped connecting to my pc and laptop. I have the samsung drivers installed on my comp. I started having this issue after I installed the drivers. My computer and laptop see the phone and always want to install drivers from it and nothing else. Pc is XP and laptop is windows 7 64bit. I want to root my phone, but when the drivers are installed neither my pc or laptop will recognize it. What should I do?
EDIT:
I am now getting this error when driver is installed:
Unable to find software on your pc that can recognize your device. Service pack 3, windows media player, version 10 or higher, for windows xp or android file transfer for mac os must be installed.
You can download and install PC KIES from *website* in order to sync data with your device, back up data, and upgrade your device.
My PC runs service pack 3 and has windows media player 10 on it.
I had a problem connecting to my PC twice since I rooted. All I did was uninstall the Samsung driver from my PC then reinstall. I rebooted after I reinstalled then connected my phone and it worked both times. I'm not sure what happens and why all of a sudden you lose it but at least it was an easy fix for me. I hope this helps.

I've had the same issue and this has also fixed it for me. I've had to do this multiple times. I guess I'll blame it on the MTP.

I haven't rooted my phone yet. I have reinstalled the drivers a few times. I am still having the issue. Should I just install the drivers, run odin and hope that it sees my phone?
I make the same post about my solution, not sure if it will work for you. I ditched all Samsung drivers and used the ones for the experia x8, it always connects now. But if you ever need to odin, you will have to install the Samsung ones. Maybe google them and see if they will work for you.

Are you using the usb cable that came with the phone? Also try different usb ports on your pc's I can't get my girlfriends laptop to recognize my phone and my desktop will only work if I use certain usb ports and the stock cable.
Tried all that. It happened the first day I got it, bone stock. Not a big deal, the x8 drivers get the job done.

I would make sure you don't have any other drivers installed from previous phones. I would uninstall drivers reboot PC then reinstall drivers and reboot again. Make sure phone is in mtp after you connect it to PC.

im getting the same problem. didnt really have a problem when i first got the phone, but started recently. i uninstalled older version, rebooted and installed Device(Install),USB Driver (Software) (ver.v1.5.14.0) Win XP/Vista/Win 7/Win 8 Nov 9, 2012, rebooted, then connected phone to pc. it seemed to install fine this time, but i still get these messages on my phone and pc. i played around with different ports and cables, and sometimes the sdcard files show, sometimes it doesnt. i eventually get the unable to find software message though.
Hello
Just a few days ago, my HTC Pico (Explorer) stopped connecting to my PC.
It still keeps on charging but the connection-selector screen stopped showing up every time I connect it to the PC.
The last time it worked was before I connected the cable in bootloader mode (I was trying to root my phone).
I selected fastboot, pressed the power button and then connected the usb to PC when suddenly the PC started to install a "Android 1.0" driver.
It failed, and I got a "Device malfunctioned" message.
I powered down my phone, booted in normal mode, and connected it again to the PC, but my PC didn't recognize my phone.
I've tried all the basic troubleshooting tips like pulling out the battery, checking and double-checking the physical connections.
I even re-installed my USB port drivers of my computer. But the problem is still not fixed.
Everything was working perfectly until I connected the phone in bootloader mode. Did the malfunction had something to do with that?
My USB cable is working perfectly. The phone keeps on charging like a normal charger.
Has this happened to anyone else? A little advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Reinstall drivers. Try Uninstalling it from Device Manager & then reinstall.
So I am trying to S-off my phone by using the new firewater method, I've tried rumrunner and moonshine and they failed. I believe it's because Windows 7 64 bit will not recognize my phone in the device manager. I've tried using the universal drivers and htc sync drivers, nothing works. Anyone got any ideas?
...When my phone is off and connected to my computer ADB does see the device, but when the phone is on ADB no longer recognizes the device.
Any ideas?
Instal htc sync manager not htc sync and after check adb exe and make shore that your phone has enabled usb debug enabled
