Now I know how to install it, and I got it up and running , and it works fine. My question is how do I get Titanium Backup to look for my backup files that are now under emmc. When I try to get it to work it doesnt show anything in Titanium backup. Im a beginner at modding so I got to learn somehow
Thanks

search is your friend.
check the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919958
Edit: As stated in the first post the drive mappings are different - external SD is /sdcard and internal sd is /emmc
This has implications for Titanium Backup when you try to restore your USER DATA (user data only, don't restore system data)
Copy the contents of /emmc/titaniumbackup to /sdcard/titaniumbackup using Root Explorer or similar.
Titanium will now see all of your old backups.
Thank You
Yea I know I should of searched more.. I'm just really busy lately and dont have much free time... Thank you for the post back...
Hi,
I recently sent my Samsung Galaxy Ace off for repair and as I expected, it came back wiped. I had backed up all my apps and games using ES FILE EXPLORER and I copied and pasted all my SD files onto my PC. Now I put my SD card baack into my phone but the apps and games didt load again.
So I decided to format the SD card and try again. It didnt work. Now I know the google account keeps track of all the apps you install but when I re-installed some that way, they didnt keep all my data.
Surely if I had backed up the apps and app data there is a way I can get all my apps back with my saved progress on them? Also I have read through some other threads on this and as yet cant find a non root (no titanium backup) solution.
Thanks

Usually, file explorers that offer backup options do not backup app data. Just the apks. So you actually have not backed up the app data. Hence restoring it is not possible.
If your phone is rooted, you can use Titanium Backup Pro to backup all your apps with app data. Or you could use the method detailed out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511835
How do I transfer my apps, settings, etc. from my not rooted Galaxy Nexus to a Nexus 5?
I should be able to transfer music, video and other sdcard stuff by copying to PC and then to N5, but am wondering how to do other stuff.

Settings I don't think is possible.
For apps, I use MyBackup, but if you want to take the app data with you I would recommend you root.

AFAIK, rooting requires unlocking the bootloader, which wipes the phone
I should be able to do the apps (apk) with adb backup
Titanium backup : backup on your previous phone, transfer the backup files on your rooted nexus, then install titanium and restore apps and their data.

Alas, Titanium requires root and I have a not rooted Galaxy Nexus
Hi guys, I recently just flashed CM 12.1 w/ Android 5.1.1 on my Zenfone 2.
Before doing that, I backed up my apps+data using Titanium Backup. After flashing, I transferred back the Titanium Backup folder in the internal storage where it originally was. I then re-installed Titanium Backup. Unfortunately, there's 0 apps that can be restored according to Titanium Backup. I even checked the Storage location and it even showed my backups.
Help ASAP. TIA
Install the apps before backup. It might work.

Nevermind, just found out that my backups were corrupted. Anyways, is there anyway to restore the data of the apps instead? I dont mind re-downloading the apps again as long as I can get my data back
In the titanium backup.
One off the two zips will have you apk inside. Just open the zip and install the apk

Hi there...how did you solve the problem?
I also have the same problem...I backed everything up then flashed cyanogenmod Marshmallow 6.0.1 then after flash copied all the backup folder back to internal memory so it can be seen by Titanium backup app and still doesn't work...it doesn't see anything...although it sees the location and the files under titanium backup/preferences/Backup Settings...Backup Folder Location..but in the app I cannot see any of the apps I backed up...how can I solve the problem..please help me
i think titanium needs to be updated to the latest version. the older version somehow doesn't work and don't see the backups properly (on my stock z3c pre rooted rom). after I installed the latest version, it worked like a charm
WARNING: Titanium doesn't backup the media folder for Whatsapp nor Wechat. backup the media that you want manually before flashing. the chatlogs are backed up properly

Hi Everyone
Sorry for digging up an old topic but I have a very similar situation and almost got gray hair already
Did anyone found a solution to the issue from opening post ?
Here's what I have done (and already regret it
- I was on stock 5.1.1 android for xperia z1 compact D5503
- I have installed Kingroot to remove some bloatware applications through titanium backup.
- Then I have made a backup of all applications of my interest (sms/mms, k9-mail etc.) and copied that to a folder on external sd card.
- Then I came over idea of Pre-rooted stock roms. Performed that (downgrade to 4.4.4, root, dual recovery, instal pre-rooted rom from zip).
- Installed TiBackup, copied all backups from sd to internal memory.
- Opened TiBackup - mind blown - no apps with backups.. In Preferences - Folder backups are shown.
Any ideas? Corrupted backups? That would make me very sad
Any help much appreciated.

OK,
I have solved the riddle. So easy and obvious that I didn't notice.
When I was doing all the stuff from the post above I was using sd card reader.
So to be on the safe side - i have copied all SD card content to win10 PC.
Then when I thought I was ready - copied all to 1 folder "Stuff" and then to SD card.
What I have missed was that during that process file extensions were changed. So all *.properties were now *.properties.txt and all *.bzip were *.bzip.zip and so on.
So my problem is solved. Perhaps someone else could use it too.
Best regards

thanks a lot .. that solve my problem
Yeh, SD card to the rescue!
Hello, it's been my first post in a while but I recently upgraded to an S7 and was trying to restore the app data for some of my apps from my S4. I backed up the apps on the S4 using Helium using 2 methods. I first just backed it up to internal. I connected the S4 to the PC and copied the carbon folder. I later connected my S7. Copied the carbon folder into the internal of that. Open Helium on the S7. Click Restore and Snyc. Helium says it can't find any backups.
I then try the PC download option. Open up the web server and backup my apps from there. I now have a zip file called backup. I put that on my S7. Heliu, doesn't see it. I go back to the Helium web server and upload the backup.zip. No progress whatsoever. Upload backup.zip on Google drive. Select "Restore from Google Drive' in Helium. Helium still can't find anything.
All I want is to restore app data on a couple of games I have, I shouldn't have to go through all this nonsense. Is there a better way or a remedy for this Helium issue? I clearly have the backup folder but Helium isn't detecting it.
Use the third option, phone to phone. Under restore/sync if you have both phones in helium you should be able to select them and choose which apps you want to copy over from the s4.

But that requires the pro version
Is there a better solution
Not that i know of, the two ways you tried of restoring should work, i used the third option when going from my n5 to the s7. The app was worth it.
Can't I just backup my whole phone to my phone and copy whatever is needed to restore app data to my new phone?

Using what app? Only helium can restore data without root. Or are you talking about samsung switch? Not sure that does data though.

You can try but you'll hit a road block trying to copy data from /data or any other root directories without having root.
