I've looked this up, but am not finding the specific issue I'm having. I uploaded a video to YouTube... a video I took with my tablet. When trying to watch it, in the YouTube app, on my tablet, I get the message, "Unsupported Video Format." I can watch it fine in a browser on the YouTube site, on my tablet. I an also watch every other video I try, through the YouTube app on my tablet.
Any ideas?

I have noticed that everytime I play hd videos online, the video player controls won't go away and just keeps on going on and off. I do have other video players other than the stock one, and I have no problem playing videos using the youtube app, or the stock browser. Playing videos offline is also not an issue, as this problem only occurs when I use other browsers like dolphin, and skyfire. Just to be clear, I am talking about just about any hd, or hq videos online from any site. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a way for me to play said videos using another player? thanks.
P.S I am running on stock ROM.
If the videos are on either PutLocker or Nowvideo, you can use this. It plays the file in your favorite video player.
Hopefully someone can help me with this error I can't find a solution anywhere. I'm using xbmc on my transformer and it's set to use MX player to play most of the video on it. My only issue is that for all youtube videos mx Player keeps giving me "can't play this video" all other types of videos work fine. Is there a fix that I can apply that will allow mx player to play youtube streams? If not, is there a way I can set in the playercorefactory.xml to use the internal DVDplayer for only youtube streams and mx player for everything else? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue with MX player and youtube streams? Any help would be appreciated

I couldn't view any You Tube videos, so I sideloaded flash onto my transformer. This wasn't too successful, so then I downloaded the new YouTube app which is working fine.
As for your xbmc problem - I don't have the app, just know it is a multi media center/player.

Sorry, no. I was able to see video in the YouTube app whereas before I couldn't get any video to play in any browser. I know I had to sideload flash onto my TF101 - so whether it helped may also be a factor.
alright, so i find myself in same boat. Only thing is, I cant play Dailymotion videos which gives me same error using xbmc+mx player combo. have you found any solution?, I tried BS Player, Dice Player and making sure they were the external players by changing playercorefactory.xml file. but still no luck. I also tried switching decoder under mxplayer and all other players to only use hw decoder or sw decoder, but no luck.
So MX player is great and all, and I download videos from youtube. Recently I downloaded one that MX player cannot really play using HW or HW+ and I'd like to find out why. Interestingly, the program I use to download videos from youtube (on PC) lists all the formats the video exists in, and there are two "1080p60" versions of different sizes. After opening them up with a program called MediaInfo, they seem to use different codecs/formats. One is AVC, the other is VP9.
When I said "MX player cannot really play" I mean "one video will show the first frame, audio will play normally, frames do not advance" (the AVC one). The VP9 one plays like a slide show with a frame updating every couple seconds, occasionally playing 2-3 frames at a time.
So yeah if anyone with more know-how could take a look at the video files in question, that'd be great. Here's the youtube video in question if you have your own way to download videos: SfjYhQ0dfCk
I WAS going to post dropbox links to 1) the two versions of the same video and 2) HTML files of the MediaInfo output and 3) The URL of the youtube video, but the forum is touchy about that apparently. Thank christ it doesn't complain about youtube video IDs.
H/W & H/W+ decoder uses android's internal decoder.
Looks like you device doesn't natively support playback @60fps.
S/W may play. But, it may be laggy if the processor is not powerful enough.
Ah okay. I thought it would at least play it very choppily but the video does not play at all. If I seek a few frames will play but then it will freeze again.
I'm also an idiot and forgot to mention that this is on a Galaxy S4. quad-core 1.8.

Would you share download link of both videos? Your link 'SfjYhQ0dfCk' is actually not a link.
There are many reasons why video not playing properly or not supporting HW acceleration.
Sometimes bug or limitation of device's media framework, sometimes bug of MX Player, sometimes corruption of video file, and so forth.
I have downloaded YouTube videos to my LG G4 from PC's "4K Video Downloader". It's an amazing YouTube video downloader. I watch on my phone gallery, But just last month, not sure if the MX player update has messed up that transcribed.srt subtitles not showing on MX Player but the Closed Captions (CC) works well on MX Player. Strangely, VLC player auto detects the subtitles, transcribed.srt as well as CC. Please fix this bug. On my laptop, the media player auto detects either both SRTs without having to search them.
The another frustrating thing is when playing video: Subtitle/Open , select as per the video title.
Hello, i have Yoga Smart Tab 10.1 (YT-X705F) with Snapdragon 439 and i have a problem i have never seen before.
I just restored the tablet to factory settings. Logged in with my account, updated youtube app. When i open any video with youtube app and set the quality to 1080p60fps, it tries to change it and then it changes back to 480p and i dont see the 720p60fps and 1080p60fps options in youtube app anymore. When i close the video and start it again, i see them again. 720p60fps option does work.
I tried playing video in chrome and firefox youtube player, 1080p60fps works, but its very choppy and slow. I have been having a lot of weird bugs with 60fps videos. For example some videos hosted on my NAS stream OK using my plex app, but some only in plex webpage player, some none at all. I have various android and ios devices at home and havent see this problem ever before. All my media problems seems to be linked to missing/bad 60fps video support.
I have tried several 3rd party youtube apps with advanced settings (like yt vanced), but i cannot get the 1080p60fps to work properly. Same problem with VLC and other video players playing 60fps videos.
Thanks.
Well, so i will answer my question. Lenovo was able to confirm, that this device and chip really does not have 60fps support.

I checked this with our team and they were able to confirm that the Yoga Smart Tab appears not to support that video quality (60fps) feature when used on YouTube and other apps.
