[Q] Failed Cyanogen Installation -> Half-Bricked Desire S

Hello, members )
My story:
Since i never liked HTC Sense i tried to migrate to Cyanogen.
I performed the following steps:
1. Bootloader was unlocked with HTC site.
2. 4ExtRecovery installed.
3. Cyanogen "update-cm-7.1.0-DesireS-signed" was installed via 4Ext from sd card.
Now phone stucks at HTC logo. Access to bootmenu, recovery is available.
I tried to flash RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.exe but it ends with an error.
Phone data:
***UNLOCKED***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
RADIO-3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC-boot
Any chance to recover phone functionality?

Have you made a backup of your previous ROM? If not try one of the custom sense roms or run the ruu without attached device, don't close the first window and search for the rom.zip, copy it to another folder and delete everything in the zip file except the system.img, rename it to pg88img.zip and flash it in bootloader or flash the image itself with fastboot.
As much as I know is your problem that with htcdev the kernel isn't unlocked and cause cyanogen needs another then sense, it doesn't work.

first thing you should do is to go s-off, then you can install custom roms.

He's unlocked by htc dev
You can also try flashing the full package with all content from the rom.zip, but this sets also your unlocked state of the bootloader back and be sure that you use the latest version of the ruu.

seems like RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30. 0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.exe is te latest but it ends with an error.
I have already tried a few roms, but the result is the same HTC logo screen

You need to manually flash the boot.img from CM 7.1 when you have the unlocked bootloader.

But i dont have cyanogen anymore since i tried to flash other roms.
Shall i install CM rom via 4extrecovery and then flash boot.img in fastboot?
I am ready to get back Sense because now nothing works (

So,
1. CM rom was flashed in 4EXT
2. /boot was formatted
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img was performed (boot.img from the same rom)

So today i rooted my sensation and everything was running perfectly until i downloaded a rom on rom manager. When the rom finished (miui) i clicked on it and a pre-installation window came up. It gave me 3 options, back up existing rom, wipe data and cache and wipe dalvik and all i checked was wiped dalvik. Now when the when it boots up it just shows me a white screen with the htc logo on it then turns black and repeats again. Please i need help urgently!!!!!

Pull the battery, put it back, and boot into hboot (Vol. Down + power button) tell me what it says

You needed to supercid first. Now run ics ruu which will wipe all ur partitions any will install stock Rom and recovery. Then supecid first. When you install any different Rom always superwipe.

how would i be able to supercid if i cant even get to my home screen?

1. Remove your sdcard (because you have a PG58IMG on it and I don't know which one).
2. Boot into bootloader and connect with adb and enter the following:
Code:
adb devices
[COLOR="Red"]make sure your device is detected[/COLOR]
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
[COLOR="red"]wait for it to write[/COLOR]
fastboot reboot-bootloader
[COLOR="red"]wait to reboot into bootloader[/COLOR]
fastboot getvar cid
[COLOR="red"]confirm it reads "11111111"[/COLOR]
(now power off your device)
3. Now using a card reader on your computer, delete your current PG58IMG (because I don't know what you have on there).
Download the 3.32 firmware from here:

Download the superwipe***.zip from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
Place them on the root of your sdcard and put the card back into your phone.
4. Now boot into bootloader (power/volume down) and wait for it to detect the firmware. (volume up to accept) wait for it to flash and then press power to reboot when it prompts.
5. Power off, remove sdcard and delete your PG58IMG on computer, re-insert and boot into bootloader and select recovery.
Select and flash the superwipe***.zip
Select and flash your MIUI ROM
***NOW REBOOT INTO YOUR NEW MIUI***

Ok thanks for all your help i have done the supercid and now it has no more boot loop but there is another problem. I have s-off and revolutionary but when i do a root check on Root check basic i says sorry this device does not have proper root access. I was wondering why i do not have root access. thanks

If you are installing a custom ROM, such as ARHD, you are automatically rooted.
Why not do this?

Rom go on past step 5 on my post and flash a new Rom after update your not rooted just s-on

Happened to me after installing the 3.32 firmware...just remove the battery and install a rom...it will work out fine..

hi i am also stuck in a boot loop i tried this new wire trick and control bear reset my phone and basically removed my recovery so i restored recovery using fastboot usb which it did i thought all my problems were solved... i did a resore which it went through but now the phones does not boot just to sensation screen and loops again i am at a complete lost of what to do i did the htc dev unlock, i am s on with h boot 1.23 dont know what rom to flash
please help me

can you post the details of you Hboot status, S-on/s-off status,radio ?(screen shot would be better)
whats your cid?
also what rom you used to have before bootloop?

so was unsucessful with s off now it just keeps rebooting i have tried various roms revolution ginger bread, insert coin ics,and have tried to resore original rom but as i say nothing works basically while using control bear it resest my phone and took out my recovery i had ext4on there so i reinstalled recovery cwm which worked but nothing is working am i basically looking at a brick here?

If you have Sensation XE Go and download this one PG58IMG.zip, it will install Stock GB rom for you http://vi8.info/HTC-Sensation/Sensation-XE/ , in case that you have ordinary sensation, download 04.RUU-Pyramid-HTC-Europe-1.50.401.1-Radio-10.56.9035.00U-10.14.9035.01-M-release-223042-signed.exe from http://vi8.info/HTC-Sensation/.
Procedures for PG58IMG:
1UT the file on your sd card
2. Press volume down and power (together)
3.follow the instruction on screen
Procedures for RUU
1. Start the .RUU-Pyramid-HTC-Europe-1.50.401.1 on PC
2.Turn on your phone with volume down and power to enter in bootloader
3.Follow the instruction on PC screen
4. When asked connect your phone to PC

I have a promblem loading clockwork mod.
have tried numerous methods loading PG58IMG on sd card ( dosn't load and which always ends up showing in hboot NO IMAGE)
Have tried flashing the same zip file through fastboot method no luck.
The promblem is when i enter RECOVERY in hboot fastboot on my phone in gos straight to a white screen with green HTC and stays like that.
If i take battery out and replace i can reboot phone into normal use and everything works find.
Want a CWM SO I CAN FLASH A NEW ROM.
PHONE IN HBOOT SHOWS.

Hi,
I am not sure why you are using a PG58IMG ,when you want a new ROM.
You are s-off,so place the new ROM on your sd card,go to bootloader,then recovery.
Format all partitions (except sd card),choose ROM and install.

Managed to flash 4 ext recovery after a few adb problems.
then flashed ARHD ICS ROM and alls well.

Don`t work Recovery in HBOOT after ROOTing and Factory reset

Good day,
at first please sorry for my english but I try write clear and easy.
I rooting my HTC Explorer as here.
Then I install to many app and decide to clean all memory. I restore to factory reset (Now I understand that was bad idea). And now my Phone don`t work. Just white word HTC on white fon. Sure you now.
Then I try to rooting again but i can`t. In HBOOT i can`t entire in Recovery menu. When I choose Recovery my phone just reboot and come back to HBOOT menu.
I try instal A310E_Recovery
- Download A310E Recovery.zip
- extract it in any window on your PC (ie: C:\HTC)
- run the recovery.bat with phone in fastboot mode (first option in the "3 android menu" ) and connected with usb

Also I try to installe RUU_Pico_HTC_Europe_1.17.401.2, 1.28.401.1 and 1.35.401.1 but I become 130 and 132 errors. RUU write I have 1.35.515.0 version, but I can`t find it anywhere!

use fastboot to flash new recovery from HBOOT
Just see any recovery thread,,there is a guide how to flash new recovery
Then wipe everything from recovery and flash any rom

First you have to unlock your bootloader as you were saying it is relocked
Then install recovery and download rom xda which you like to install place it in sdcard
And go to recovery wipe everything and install the rom
Or follow the instruction given by rom developer

Re flash the latest build of cwm recovery and then re flash the ROM. You wants :thumbup:

Install CWM Recovery as the red triangle on a phone means that you have no recovery installed.
Now do a complete data wipe from recovery and flas the stock ROM zip file and reboot
