Okay...

Problem resolved!
I have the Xperia L from 1 week ago, and had the same problem, the first notification was the data traffic and i could not use the advanced notification features of JB (On JB and depending on the app, the first notification have extra features like reply an e-mail, ) here is my low tech solution, no root needed!:
Press and hold the notification, a submenu will appear "application information" click it, it opens the App info for Telephone app, force stop it using the first button on the screen and the notification will be gone!
First i was skeptical because of the force closed app name "Telephone", but it only removes the notification, i'm still able to use the phone as it was before, calling, texting, browsing, wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc.
When the phone is restarted you will have to do it again.
Hope this helps.

Put the attached file in the "/system/vendor/overlay" folder with any root explorer and set the permissions to "rw-r--r--". Then restart the phone.
Data notifications enabled / disabled should not reappear.
To do this you must be root.
Sorry for my English. Is the Google Translator

Try to holding the notification and then App Info and then untick "Show Notifications"

Thx for answering! I try, but on the app info screen I can't untick, because it' greyed out... Any other solution or script, like disable data traffic notification...

Works like a charm, Xperia V.
Finally - one more silly notice gone! :good:

Xposed framework have a module named xposed dnt disabler

It says permission denied while pasting this file into that overlay folder. Full rooted and using ES Root explorer. What to do?

Interesting app. It seems to be working, but you should probably add a way to cancel hypnotizing in action. It redirects Settings to the app while in action so I can't access it.

Cool!
Kindly put an option to white list apps manually. I see that whatsapp has been put in the white list by default. I use profile flow to automatically switch between profiles, it stops working once it's hypnotized.

Hangouts notifications not working

Hello,
I'm experiencing some problems with the hangouts app notifications on my N5. Most of the time, the phone won't notify me of new gTalk (aka hangouts) chats or incoming video calls. It's really hard to maintain a conversation because as soon as you leave the app you complete forget about it.
Carrier/mobile number-related notifications work just fine. It's just the google/Internet part what's giving problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Is this in wifi or data only. If it's on carrier data then it would be them closing the ports. I know I had that problem with straight talk, which is the main reason i stopped using them.

Hangouts doesn't require sync to push notifications.
Maybe its an issue with your push notifications themselves. Test if they work with this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firstrowria.pushnotificationtester

Try reinstalling Hangouts if you haven't already
Any progress on this? I am experiencing the exact same problem on my Moto X 2nd Gen.
The 4.4.4 update is the cause; Hangouts have problems to many devices.
It seems that the notifications ringtones are not installed properly.
What I've found on some forums and working for me:
1. Move all hangouts ogg giles from sdcard(emulated)/ ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones
In order to do this you have to go to twrp , mount system and use file manager inside twrp
2. You have to do a small synchronization too.
Go to Settings --> Sounds --> Volume --> Volumes --> Uncheck "Link ringtone and notification volumes".
Then an additional choice appears for the Notifications.
After that I started to get the sounds when notifications arrived. I rechecked the "Link ringtone and notifications" and the volume still worked.
Seems like something that needed to be initialized once.
After this the hangouts notifications appears and play sound too.

Disable Wifi Power Saving Mode - Galaxy S7

By default the Galaxy S7 has a WiFi power saving mode which affects bandwidth and response when the device screen is off and on battery power.
New method to disable WiFi Power Saving mode. Should work for other Samsung devices.
The *#0011# method I've found creates a file /data/.psm.info and contains a 0 to disable power saving.
Open a Terminal session.
su
echo '0' > /data/.psm.info
chmod 664 /data/.psm.info
Or you can use my app to toggle the setting.
Play Store App
Power Saver On

Power Saver Off - Sees a fast response every other ping.
OLD Method
Follow the instructions below or use my own attached modded file to disable this power saving mode. The option is in a service menu but the activity hides the power saving button to toggle it.
My scheduled Wi-Fi tasks now don't struggle.
My S7 is a UK G930F. Will also work with G935F.
Copied /system/priv-app/serviceModeApp_FB/serviceModeApp_FB.apk
Decompiled using AndroidMultiTool and latest apktool.jar
Edit /res/layout/wifi_information.xml
Change the powersavemod lines - android:visibility from "gone" to "visible"
Recompile the apk
Copy back to device /system/priv-app/serviceModeApp_FB/serviceModeApp_FB.apk
Restart device.
Open the Dialer and type *#0011#
Click More
Click Wifi
You will now see the WIFI Power Save Mode option
With Power Saver of, screen off and no USB connected, you get better bandwidth and a quick response every other ping.

Stops the Wifi going really slow when the phone is sleeping. I have an app that queries a website every minute and it wasn't receiving results each time.
Disabling power saving mode gets me results every time.
I know about this. In fact, it was the first thing I did when I got my S7E. But I don't have that option. I'm on latest DBT firmware.

If you go to "settings" and press "wifi" and in the top right corner click "more" and press "keep wifi on during sleep" and select "always".
Wouldn't this do the same thing but without root?.

When enabled wii on during sleep the phone is always connected to wifi when sleeping.
If disabled it turns off wifi during sleep like it says.
That said, do not know anything about the speed, I never use wifi, haha.....
Who can sent me servicemod modified
Is it just me or does this absolutely murder your battery?
With this mod, I lose 50% over 10-11hrs of screen off time with all apps killed.
Here with superman rom nougat it doesn't work. There is no switch in service menu.

Is there Any way to do it without root?
Anyone managed to do something similar with no root ?
I'm pretty sure it's the doze feature that causes this, when I disable the doze feature the WiFi is always staying alive (it's done using adb and it resets after reboot), however, I've tried disabling all the apps in the 'optimized apps' and it doesn't help.

Listing Battery optimisation troubles (apps stop, after locking phone)

If you have apps that stop , when your screen goes black, manually (power button), automaticlly ( depends of your sleep settings), or after a notification.
But you have already desactivate the "close after screen locked option" for this app...
Please report here with your firmware and phone version, the apps affected and the one working well for you.
Settings pages Screenshots would be helpfull.
Maybe Honor could do something abou it...
My case :
Honor 8 - FRD-L09 - B389 firmware version (rooted)
I had the same problem with B381. I think, but not absolutely sure, problems started with update from emui 4 to emui 5 (I don't remenber the build version).
So, I have an app "Podcast addict", 80 percent of time when my phone screen goes black 3-4 sec after, the app stop playing, same problem after receiving a notification when listening... It s happening when I lock the screen, manually (power button), automaticlly (going to sleep mode after 2 min, or other setting), or after a notification.
I have desactivate the "close after screen locked option" for this app :
screenshot 1

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Set to "don't close" in "lock screen cleanup" options :
screenshot 2
When I use the "optimizer" widget, the app stay alive :
screenshot 3
But when I use the "optimize" option in battery settings, my app is killed, and sound stop :
screenshot 4 and 5
When I look at the "Battery settings" ( the gearing, up right), my app isn't in the "power intensive app history", and neither in "history of closed app" :
screenshot 6, 7 and 8
My temporary fix, not allways working : I hit play, manually lock the screen, unlock (fingerprint) and lock manually again... But still, when there is a notification 2-3 seconds after my app stop playing....
:silly::silly:

here's a method too remove red developer options red banner in notification area ?

Hi guys just got my vivo nex today and loving it, I found a method a few months ago on my vivo V9 to remove the red ugly banner in the status bar which allows you to keep developer options still running with no issues , so now we can change our animation speeds and what not..
Step one..
Switch on developer options.
Step two..
Navigate to more settings then applications then all.
Step three..
Scroll down to vivo service and select it .
Step four..
Press storage then Clear storage inside vivo service .
The red notification should be gone now and if you go back into developer options it will still be enabled.
The only thing is if you switch your phone off you will have to repeat the process, (my phone never sleeps ? ,
but hey it works, sorry if this is known by the masses but I've had a few people ask so I thought I'd put it up, stay free :silly:

Yea, this worked for me. Thanks for the trick.
thanks this is a very good find... This is better way then having a 3rd party app like autonotification installed. I do not reboot my device that often either so I am willing to live with this...
With apps like tasker etc I am sure you can do this automatically if you use it ?
For me its irritating but not a big problem. But this is still retarded to this from Vivo... The funny thing is... the logo say... the phone will have more stutter but when I change the animation speed to 0.5x the whole device feels twice as fast so its just stupid..
Tested working fine, Thanks
Wonderfully working. Thanks Friend.

Auto notification app is your friend.
No matter how many time restart your phone you'll never see red status bar indicator(i'm using it almost 7 months and do its job excellent)
Keep in mind you have to allow all permission to app(auto start- run background etc)and white list from battery optimization.

I have tried adding iMusic to the list of apps for blocking by AutoNotifcation, however I still get the notification. Anything I missed?
I've completely uninstalled stock music app day one as its garbage compared to Power Amp or Player Pro so I can't tell what's going on

after you restart the phone do you have to re enable the blocking again? mine has to give it the notification permission everytime!

No you won't need doing this but in order not give every time restart phone notification permission you just need to activate app to startup menu.
