Almost bricked my phone - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

I wanted to update from Android 2.3.5 to 4. I rooted my phone properly, and that went fine with Superuser elite. Because of upgrading, I installed CWM 5.0.2.7 via Odin. In the background CWM shows errors:
Code:
Cannot mount /cache!
And errors like that. I formatted microSD card, inserted it back, formatted it. The errors are still here. Because of the left cache folder, I couldn't install Android 4. I followed all guides on Internet, the problem is still here. I thought newer version of CWM will solve it, and I downloaded version 6 and flashed it through Odin(WHY?:crying. Now I cannot go to download mode or CWM, I am stuck at SAMSUNG logo when I boot the phone. Any help will be very appreciated. :highfive: The last thing I would do is to go to shop and request a new one, because my warranty expired in February. It's cost is 210 euro. This is the second time I almost bricked my device.

I'm trying this.

EDIT: ADB cannot see my device! I also tried Heimdall, but with no luck. This means I am screwed? Hope not!!

cwm doesn't support RFS . so you should format cache and data partition before installing custom ROMs.
goto recovery and do this:
wipe data/reset
advanced-> wipe dalvik cache
install zip from sdcard -> choose ROM file
wipe data/reset
advanced-> wipe dalvik cache
reboot

OK. I though to do it this way:
1. Buy USB jig.
2. Go to download mode.
3. Flash TWRP with Odin.
4. Install Android 2.3.6.
5. Flash CWM via Odin.
6. Fix cache problem somehow.
7. Install Android 4! Yay!
For the step 6, how can I fix the cache error?

NOOOO! you should install TWRP with custom recovery, NOT Odin! don't do same mistake again.
this is the proccess:
1- buy usb jig and connect it to your phone.
2- flash Stock Firmware(it must be 2.3.x) with odin! (you can download stock firmwares from samfirmware.com)
3- flash this with odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640
it's most stable recovery that we have!
4-wipe data/reset
advanced-> wipe dalvik cache
5-install zip from sdcard -> choose ROM file
6-wipe data/reset
advanced-> wipe dalvik cache
7-reboot
and now you have android 4! yeah
Stock Roms have RFS partition type and our custom recovery doesn't support RFS so that mount problem appears. but you can format partitions again and convert partition to Ext4. just do step 4 .

yes it should work. it's just a simple resistor. you can make your own jig:

i heard that samsung changed bootloader so you can't reset number of flashes any more. you said your warranty expired in February! so why do you want to do that??

Thanks. I will buy one as soon as possible. For the bootloader, I am just curios. Thank you for great answers!

I solved it this way. I went to service and they somehow installed Android 2.3.6. Now I partitioned my 8 GB SD card via CWM and currently I am trying PAC-man ROM(S) from this forum. I will post what will happen.

Still no luck.

[Q] Problem With Flashing SCH-I535

The very first ROM I tried to flash was a version of CarbonRom. I was unsuccessful, as i got the installation aborted message. I then tried a couple of other lesser know ones, with the same luck. Lastly I tried CM 10.1, and with that, i had success. It was the only one that would work so far. Yesterday, I downloaded DU 4.2.2, and A new nightly version of Carbon (Specifically for my phone) With no luck of installation. Am i doing something wrong with these? Is there a different method of flashing i'm missing?
what is the procedure you take to install?
I usually go this route:
1) Boot into whatever recovery you have
2) Wipe Cache/Davlik
3) Install custom ROM
4) run a factory reset
5) Reboot

well we now have 3 custom recoveries to choose from I like the newer one since I can install a new ROM in fewer steps.
i would do a factory reset after you flash your rom too, can't hurt.
of course on updating the same ROM, I only Wipe Cache/Davlik and that's it.
Bad download? Does the md5 match?
after making sure you wiped everything make sure the download itself was proper I am running it flawless right now

[Q] CM11 - cannot get past the boot screen

Hi,
First, I followed the instructions in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507905
I installed the CWM recovery and then flashed the CM11-20131228 nightly and then the recommended Google Apps that are linked at their wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps#Downloads (I took the 20131208 ones)
Now my phone is stuck in the boot screen with the circle spinning around the cyanogenmod logo (I can boot the bootloader and recovery but when I try to boot CM11 it’s stuck) and I dont know how to get to a working cm11 rom. The guide said that the first boot with a new rom takes longer than usual because the phone rebuilds caches and so on but I think it should not take more than half an hour...
What I already tried is:
- Wiping the chaches with the CWM recovery an then booting cm11 -> still just the arrow spinning around the logo
- Wiping the caches with recovery and then re-flashing the same zip without flashing the google apps afterwards -> did not work
- Wiping and then pushing the newer cm11 nightly via adb so that I could try this one -> recovery did not find the pushed zip on my scdard
- Wiping, then tried to install the new nightly via adb sideload -> cmd prompt said it was send properly and as far as I can say the phone installed it but I was still stuck on that bootscreen ...
- I even restored to the stock 4.4.2 factory image and then flashed the cwm recovery, than wiped caches and then installed the latest cm11 nightly an then the google apps but I still can not get past the boot animation
What am I doing wrong and how can I get past the boot screen?
You talk about wiping caches but are you wiping data too?
Oh, yes. I just didnt mention it. I always did the three steps from the guide:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
advanced > wipe dalvik cache

Exactly.
I install the factory image with method 1 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701 and then flash CWM recovery to install CM (factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik cache + install cm-zip + install gapps-zip) and then there is the bootloop.

I got another problem now ... The last thing I did was flashing the stock rom. Now I want to flash the latest CM nightly (20131229) but fastboot does not let me install cwm recovery and says

I flashed the whole stock rom again but the error still occurs... I have to wipe the partitions after I installed CM, right?

8 minutes is too long. You have some other problem. Do any other roms work? Wiping system in twrp does not wipe the internal sd card. That's why you didn't find it in cwm.

[Q] N915s cannot mounting /system

Hi all
I got a issues which cannot flash any rom in to my N915s

After that my N915s got rooted, and work fine.
But I try to flash custom rom in cwm, is only show update, then the phone auto rebooted, there are nothing and return back to old rom.
After I check that, is seems cannot mount the /system, and I try to manual mount /system but return error mounting /system.
I try to do it again with CF-Auto-Root > CWM but still no luck.
Now I don't have any idea, please help....

Does TWRP Recovery on Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915T as same as N915S, can I can use it ?
Since I cannot find the N915S version in XDA, thanks.
Try this... Go to recovery... Wipe cache.. Then wipe Davlk cache... The wipe both cache and Davlk cache together.. Then go and try mounting cache again..
edit: Sorry I am way too tired.. I just noticed your problem is system... Yes use TWRP recovery.. I found its best to flash it first as recovery on a fresh root. See is you can mount system in it.. Most have a problem with mounting cache at this stage... If system works and cache becomes the problem use my suggestion... Once all happy them flash CWM as your recovery. Hope this helps.
Edit 2.0... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2945942 This thread goes thru everything you need... if there is no TWRP for your devise there should be working alternative.
Yes, I have follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2945942 and re flash the auto CF and CWM, but the issues still not fix, root checker show the phone rooted, but still cannot mount the system and flash any custom rom

there is one problem with stock rom. its encrypts the data partition right after installing stock rom, therefore twrp can't access data partition. i had similar problem earlier. this is how i managed to fix.
solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67980158&postcount=7
i suggest you to stick with stock rom, because right now whatever roms or recoveries are made for this phone are blindly ported (just copy paste roms). i have tried about 3-4 roms for this phone, all had major bugs especially battery related. there is only one developer who made a stable rom so far is beingtejas, search his thread. if you really want to use a custom rom, try THIS rom made by gaurav kesarwani with help of beingtejas that is why i am suggesting it you otherwise it didn't worked for me atleast.
