[Q] I've screwed my OS, help - HTC One S

Hi everyone, I need help, every reply is welcome. Thanks
So here's the deal: I'm a major noob about rooting and stuff but i read tutorials and I'm willing to learn. I've successfully rooted my VilleC2 few weeks ago and installed Custom ROM. I've followed step-by-step tutorials, unlocked bootloader, installed recovery etc. and I got CG 10.1 mod on my phone. I've played with it for a while and then I successfully switched to Viper ROM and I used it until now. I've decided to try out CG 10.2 with Android 4.3, so I downloaded the files and transfered them to my phone.
I went to TWRP recovery and tried to do a regular WIPE (which worked for me when I switched from CG 10.1 to VIPER) but the wipe failed. After that I went to INSTALL option in TWRP and realized that I don't have any of my files there (no folder where I put my rom, or anything else). I think I deleted my sd card contents or something and now I don't have any OS to boot. Bootloader works, twrp also.
I have no idea what to do, and how to transfer any rom files to my phone. One S has no sd card, and I can't do that manually. Any help is greatly welcome, thanks again
Here's the bootloader info:

There is an Option in TWRP: MOUNT STORAGE. Connect phone to PC, Tap Mount Storage and you should see Your SD partition in PC after a few seconds.
Load the OS onto the SD partition and flash it away.

Many many thanks!

Problem solved?
If not you can always use adb to push files to your phone

Desire S won't boot following ICS installation

Apologies in advance as I know there are many similar threads on here but I've read so much I'm just getting confused! Here goes...
Yesterday I tried to install the official version of ICS onto my Desire S. I followed all of the steps and the computer said the software had been successfully installed. Since then my phone will not boot past the HTC logo screen. I can get into the hboot screen by booting with power on + volume down and my computer recognises the phone when i plug it in in fastboot. It won't go into recovery mode and a factory reset doesn't work. I have tried re-installing the software but it makes no difference. I bought the phone second hand and it was already rooted so I don't have the programs that were used.
When booting in hboot the following info apppears:

I have read that this version of hboot is not compatible and that I require an hboot upgrade but i'm not sure how to do this as I cannot access the sd folder of my phone and I don't have an external micro SD reader.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if means reverting back to gingerbread or using another ROM. I just want my phone to work again!

if your phone is detected in fastboot, the best bet you have is to install a custom recovery and then flash another ROM through it.
check this thread, you may find something to help you.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186401
I would recommend the CM10 by nk111. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776256&highlight=all+credit
Try the latest stable one. ie, the 30-Oct version.

Errr u could try putting the file into the sd with another phone.
If u can enter recovery mode, u can connect the sd card with the computer.

I had the same issue and manage to fixed it by following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679338
I used a second sd card, I formatted it first and only put the file I need at that time on it. I
In step 5 Reboot into bootloade, select recovery wait till you see the screen with the red triangle exclamation mark and press the volume up and power button at the same time.
You will enter the Android system recovery <3e> and see the following options:
reboot system now
apply update from SD card
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe the cache partition and wipe data/factory reset
Now following step B from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1858508
When update is finished - reboot, then configure ICS and delete PG88IMG.zip from sd card.
Thanks very much for your help guys. I've managed to sort the problem. For everyone else out there with the same problem I'll tell you what I did....
The hboot version on my phone (6.98.1002) is not compatible with the official ICS software update.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488672 - this thread shows how to update the hboot when stuck in bootloop.
I then reinstalled the ICS ruu onto my phone and it is now working fine although it is no longer rooted.
Could someone please tell me the best way to root my phone again. In the bootloader menu it still says revolutionary s-off but i cannot access ROM manager or titanium backup. Do I need to fully root it again?
Since you installed the official RUU, your root is probably gone.. You will have to fully root the phone again to get root access.
You could try flashing a custom recovery in fastboot, and then flashing SuperSu or superuser from recovery.

This. As long as you're S-OFF, rooting is just a matter of flashing custom recovery (using fastboot), and flashing SuperSU ZIP in recovery. The first step is covered in so many tutorials that any search will lead you right to it.
Sorry for late response but thank you all who helped me. My phone is now fully functional and I couldn't have done it without you guys. Much appreciated!

[Q] [HTC One S][S3] Urgent Help Needed

Hey All,
I recently tried rooting my HTC One S (s3) and have had a few problems.
1. Unlocked bootloader successfully, flashed TWRP 2.3.1.0 successfully but won't mount to USB or won't mount sdcard or storage when I try and flash a ROM.
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E:Unable to mount 'storage'
Or when I mount USB my computer's asking to format the device.
2. I lost my OS (I had Android 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0) and pretty much can't use my phone as a phone. Tried looking for the right RUU but none of them fit my device.

Did you install the S3 version of TWRP? If you have and didn't get to flash a rom then you need to flash stock recovery then factory reset in bootloader.

So is SD working now then since you said it didn't let you flash a rom or did you mean recovery? I see you was looking for that so I go with that, so what you need to do is hold Vol- when turning the phone on and it should load the bootloader, from there you should see factory reset select it and after it's done it's thing everything should be working.

[Q] In need of expert help: I accidently did a factory reset in HBOOT

Hi everyone n00b here and I apologize ahead of time for anyone needing to spell things out for me. I just got a new HTC One X and I had unlocked the bootloader using the CID 1111111 hack. Everything worked out great and I had even installed the Cyogenmod but I accidently selected factory reset while in HBOOT mode. TWRP is still accessible but I've lost all my android folders on the SD cared and anytime I try to reboot the phone it stays on a boot loop. It does not get past the Cyogenmod logo. Plug into computer then format the phones sd card. Once done you can put.files.on it again. Copy cyanogen onto sd
Then flash through twrp.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Plug in phone.. go to "my computer" right click "removable storage" (if your computer recognizes it). Select format.
Once complete, I would personally download cleanrom 5.1. Transfer to phone.
Flash entire ROM through twrp and reboot. That will give you a stable ROM to work with with no fastboot kernel BS...

Help needed to recover files
I ran into similar situation where my phone is now factory reset and I lost all SD Card partition contents.
Tried various recovery tools but not able to recover lost data. (I have no backup of Camera photos )
Can anyone suggest something to recover my files?
Thanks
Cammy
i couldn't recover from hboot factory reset but i could recover from twrp sdcard format, you might have better luck but you could try piriform recuva, ontrack easyrecovery, runtime getdataback.

HTC One X International Mounting SD Card and Flashing Issue's

Hello Everyone, pretty new to this community.
I have been fixing and flashing stuffs for pretty long time and found XDA brings out alot of help for me reading comments and guides.
I'm having problems with mounting the SD-Card, i remember i had in the past CWM recovery that i could actually mount successfully without having any drivers issues (Windows 7 Home Premium) when trying to Mount the SD-Card.
Now even the latest CWM or TWRP recoveries, i can't mount the SD-Card.
Why i want Mount it via Recovery?
Because i deleted the OS and i'm trying to put on my SD-Card a Stock Nanroid Backup for it since there is no RUU.exe out there for the HTC One X International with CID : T-MOB101 that i can flash via fastboot.
What i tried to do is, from fastboot flashing a random ROM that hopefully i will be able to mount SD-Card on that ROM.
I tried this :
fastboot flash boot boot.img (that i took out from that ROM.zip)
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ROM.zip
Don't really know if its possible doing it that way, but i gave it a try that i head in my head.
I know i'm supposed to do it via Recovery Mode, but i can't even insert files there since the HTC One X has a build memory which makes lifes harder.
That's my phone details :
Code:

eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode : disabled
HW Secure boot : enabled
MODEM PATCH : OFF
Jun 21 2014,18:24:41
CID : T-MOB101
Its a Germany Phone version if you wondering.
So i'm wondering if there is a way that i could push the files of the Nanroid backup to my phone?(Reminding again, i have no Software running. can't mount SD-Card via Recovery Mode, and SD-Card is clean.)
Or if anyone here somehow have a good old recovery CWM version that can mount the SD-Card that i could give it a shot.
I can replace the USB port though, but it won't help.
Thanks in advance.

[HELP] failed ROM flash

Hi guys,
I hope you can give me some pointers?
I have in front of me a HTC ONE S, it's not mine but a friend of my son, they've tried to flash a new ROM, failed and it's sat in a drawer for months, he volunteered me to have a look!
The only info I have on the failed flashing process is that "this is as far as she got"! So I can only go on what I in front of me.
The phone is stuck in a reboot cycle and never appears to start to run, i only get the HTC logo.
I can boot into TWRP, so she's managed to unlock and install recovery.
I can mount USB storage and copy files onto phone, there were no files here, only what I've copied.
Any ROM I've downloaded just fails, message usually reports that it's failed to mount partition.
I don't know if this is a S3 or S4.
Information I have;
from the label under the rear cover

The version of TWRP is 2.2.1. I can see there's a newer TWRP, I guess I should update, how can I do this if I can't boot the phone?
So, from the above can I identify if it's a S3 or S4?
Do I need to format storage before flashing a ROM, or is there something else I need to do so I can successfully flash a new ROM?
Yours hopefully
Chris
I'm guessing I at least need to update TWRP, but I can't see a way of doing this with the current installed version other than via the phone OS.
What I can't find is an old ROM that works with this TWRP that I can just get running and work through the upgrades from there, anybody got any suggestions?
Chris
Ah ha, so I now know that I have a "soft brick"! I have managed to update TWRP to 2.8.7.0 I've tried a few ROMs but none boot, I'm therefore thinking that I've chosen an incompatible ROM? I still don't know what version of ONE S I have in front of me.
Googling "NM8PJ40100" seems inconclusive , but S4 comes up more than S3, can anyone provide any more definitive answers?
Please?
Chris
You have a European S4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2756192 for more info.
I've got it working, although I'm not really sure what the right combination was. I updated TWRP to 2.8.7.1 and tried flashing a few ROMS, but somewhere in that process I lost the ability to mount the SD card, and back to stuck in a boot loop.
Now more confident I reflashed TWRP 2.8.7.1, formated all phone partitions from within TWRP and mounted SD card. My PC didn't recognised the phone so I then formatted it from Windows, copied over ROM & GAPPS, flashed and now all OK.
I'm guessing the phone partitions got screwed somewhere, by me or by the owner, or both!
Finally got there and knowing what type of ROM I needed helped, so thank you kdd988!
Chris
Hi there Chris,
I am having the same problem with a girl's HTC One S as well (I can't remember if I had determine if it was and S3 or an S4 model). After going through the process to try to flash to custom ROM, during the process, it just gave this error message (can't remember what exactly unfortunately, was over 6 months ago), this was after wiping the Dalvik Cache, so I assume that clears out the original factory ROM?
So, somehow it got stuck in a similar fashion as you mentioned

This one, when you power it on, it goes straight to the CLockworkMod screen.
Can you tell me the exact procedure you used to get the ROM uploaded to the phone memory so then to flash it within the recovery interface.
The phone is no longer recognized as a device on the PC currently so no way to access the phone's internal memory to put the files on etc
