For Sense and CM10 based ROM's
.
...Compatible with ViperS Sense 5...
.

.
.
...Introduction....
I have made this MOD for you as the HTC Sensation's RAM is quite low for the modern ROM's we have and to better multitasking and caching.
.
I also have found that the other swap modifications available don't work to mine and others satisfaction.
.
This is not your ordinary swap mod, it includes tweaks to help performance and usage.
.
This MOD is for you so this thread is open to your ideas, questions and anything else relating to swap so feel free to speak up and help others too.
.
I also made this thread to not clutter ROM and Kernel threads with swap questions and answers.
.
I have had positive results using MultiSwap and so have others, I use it myself and find it great.
.
.

Swappiness
Once you have installed MultiSwap you can choose a custom swappiness .

You can also choose to set swappiness back to the MultiSwap default.
If you decide not to choose a custom swappiness the default one will be used depending on the version of MultiSwap you install.
Out Of Memory Tweak
This option will tweak your minfree and adj values in your Sense or CyanogenMod ROM.
You also have the option to remove this tweak.
Virtual Memory Tweak
This option will tweak some of your virtual memory values in your Sense or CyanogenMod ROM.
You also have the option to remove this tweak.
System Information
This option will show you how much in total and free space you have in your device.
So if you are unsure of your free space, this option is handy to check before installing some versions.
Also shows you a few other details.
MultiSwap Removal
This option will completely remove MultiSwap.
It removes everything related to MultiSwap, including all files and directories made.
A reboot is needed after choosing this option.
You don't need to use this option if you are changing versions or upgrading MultiSwap.
.
.
...Installation...
.
Just flash the MultiSwap All in One installer like you would flash a ROM in recovery. No need to wipe anything in recovery beforehand or afterwards. You can run the installer anytime and choose different options and combinations as many times as you want. No need to remove Multiswap if choosing another version, upgrading or changing options.
.
.
If your installing a version of MultiSwap that uses the system partition and need to acquire more space, an easy way to remove unwanted system apps, libs, wallpapers etc is with ROM Cleaner.
- If your using ViperS v3.x, you can use the ViperS Sense 4+ Cleaner Script.
- If you are using ViperS v5.x, you can use the ViperS Sense 5 Cleaner Script.
- If you are using Revelation ROM, you can use the Revelation Cleaner Script.
You can check your free space by entering the code below into Android Terminal Emulator or you can also check in the MultiSwap All in One installer.
Code:
df /system
.
.
It is still recommended to make a nandroid backup in recovery prior to flashing as you would before flashing anything.
You are responsible for what you flash. I take no responsibility for lost data or hardware failure but saying that MultiSwap is safe.
.
.
After flashing, restart device and let your device settle for 5 minutes. To check if MultiSwap is active, enter code below into Android Terminal Emulator and you should see 4 or 8 swap files depending on the version chosen.
.
If you don't see the correct amount of swap files in terminal, see trouble shooting below.
Code:
cat /proc/swaps
.
.
...Troubleshooting...
Some Sense and CM based ROM's busybox don't support priorities for swap so upgrading busybox will solve your issue. Please install Stericson Busybox Installer from Play Store and update busybox using the Smart install option once installer has loaded up. Then reboot after upgrade. I prefer not to add busybox to MultiSwap as this way you will keep everything left compatible for ROM by just upgrading.
.
When upgrading ROM, more than likely you will need to reflash MultiSwap unless on CM and you use the updater script included in CM. You may also need to update busybox again too.
.
When upgrading MultiSwap, no need to remove any previous version as the updater script will take care of it for you.
.
Experience lag after installing or upgrading, just reboot and should be fine after that.
.
Having trouble with the JB Sense version, try the Sense based version.
.
If the installation hangs, just remove the battery and reboot into recovery to repeat the process.

great work.... ..have this MOD installed in Vipers ROM... working well ...
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premm

Thanks for your work,
I'm on Revelation 1.02, unfortunately the mod is not installed/running correctly on my phone.
I can see the multiswap init.d script on my phone, it's the only script I have in there
I can't see multiswap folder in my phone system and cache.
And the command cat /proc/swaps doesn't show any result.
I have services.jar and crossbreeder MODs installed as well

Sounds like init.d support isn't working correctly like a couple of others on Revelation, try this from the link below to see if it is working. If not maybe flashing ROM again without wiping may help. You need 110Mb free space on system and cache before flashing MultiSwap if you missed that.

That would be great if this mod is made compatible with CM or AOKP...

flashed with revelation 1.0.2 and since then cant take photos phone restarts any suggessions ?

Good job @hinxnz, I played with swap stuff and when nothing satisfied me, I decided to remove it and chill with minfree affairs... But the idea of dividing the swap files into four was astonishing!

Ok, I need help with installing this. My /system has only 93MB free by default. I even wiped everything and reinstalled Viper 3.1.2. Haven't even tried booting into the rom yet, and already my recovery only reports 92.7MB space left. I tried moving a bunch of apps to my SD card before trying with wiping/reinstalling and free space number still wouldn't budge. How can I get to 110MB required by this mod?

I could make one for CM ROM's etc but using data partition instead of cache, this is because all the CM ROM's I have tried use the cache for systems dalvik-cache.
Edit: If you have the free space in the cache partition go ahead and use the universal MultiSwap otherwise I'll make one later that doesn't use the cache.

I found it not really nessasary in the 2 Sense JB ROM's as yet but needs quite a bit of testing doing this as the values you choose have to be compatible with the kernel and all the apps oom_adj levels need to be considered but may add this later on, just seeing what next updates for the ROM's will be if the same or not.

I don't think this is related to MultiSwap but try with clearing the Camera data in Settings - Apps - All - Camera

If there is nothing else that you want to remove from system you could move some system apps to the data partition. There's a few apps that can do this, one is Titanium backup. Moving apps to sd card will only help free the data partition up, not system.
When I get some time later I'll make some alternative ones, meaning you can choose what ZIP to flash for what partitions you want to use with MultiSwap such as system & data or data & cache as well.

On CM10.2 the free space on cache is only 26M, so if you could make one without using cache, but only system and data, that would be pretty cool.

Yip will do this a bit later on as need to update OP when doing this too You may know this but will mention anyway, to use the data partition before flashing you will need ~250Mb free. The reason is that after installing MultiSwap, ~140Mb free space is needed on the data partition so user apps can be updated successfully. Some Apps can be moved to SD card and also CM based ROM's have plenty of system space free so important user apps can be moved to the system partition too.
Edit: If your worried about moving system apps because of frequent updates of CM based ROM's overwriting system, CM has a great feature using an updater script and you can include apps/mods/scripts from being overwritten by flashing the updated ROM. Well I think everything you list in the updater script is moved to a temporary directory if remembering correctly and they are moved back after installing the update. I use to use this feature and it always work great. I wish all ROM's had this feature, which would save a lot of time. I don't think many people know of this feature, If you are unsure of this I could explain more

Thanks, Wiped clean all, reflash ROM then install your MOD.
Now I can see swap running on my phone

Yip did you read the OP and look at the script, it's different. It's still basically swap though if that's what you mean but done differently. It acts differently too
Edit: This swap mod doesn't keep growing swap space and not empty, swap pages are move out of swap when apps are closed etc. Also you can have busybox in any location.

Yes very possible, I'm on ViperS. With things removed for there other apps and I was still easily able to free up 110Mb of space, you could move some system apps to data if you don't want to remove anything else. I'll probably make another one for people that have troubles freeing up system for some Sense ROM's.

The title says it is "quad" swap, this is what matters, I believe. In my opinion, also as @axetilen said, the more swap files, the better results. Based on my experience, for example 4 swap files of each 50MB is better than 1X200MB swap file. try it out.

Notes:
IMPORTANT: Although all of my scripts check for and handle appropriatly a2sd and other apps2sd utilities it is highly recomended that you move your apps back to the /data/app folder and remove or disable any a2sd utilities prior to flashing this ROM, once flashed you can reset all of your a2sd settings accordingly. It is also recomend that you leave your cache and dalvik cache alone as moving these can cause backup and restore to fail if there is insuffiecient space.
Enjoy, this is fast stable and very clean, I have even included some of my favorite backgrounds which can be found under "Menu - More - Wallpaper". And as always I am the only DEV (To my knowledge) that includes an antivirus app in my ROM and handles backups and restores of all user level apps (/data/app and /data/app-private) during the flash sequence. No matter what style or flavor of rom you currently have there is no need to wipe, my updater-script handles everything for you. I do still recomend a full nand backup first just for safety sake.
Thanks:
evanbigfan - for pointing out a flaw in my scripts
J074 - for all the testing (and the humor) LOL
existz - for the kernel
google - for android
cyanogenmod - for the stable base
and all of the devs that provided help with the backup and restore issues.

Nice. Really good rom. Thanks.
Thanks for your work...I tried it, but had to nand back. I followed instructions & everything went great until I tried to use Titantium Backup to add back a few apps it failed to install ...then it started restarting.
The apps were fancy Widgets & pro Widgets.
Gonna reflash when I stop for the night.
Thanks for all you do though....I'm still a rookie this.

without restoring the apps from titanium backup did all your other apps work as expected? when you are restoring your apps from TB are you choosing data as well? if your previous ROM was a sense rom this could be the cause of the problem. try restoring without data and then setup the apps again from scratch. let me know if that helps.
Looking good.

Previous rom was Ninja (aosp) .
It auto installed all but 6 previously installed apps...I tried twice today.
I think my problem lies with a auto update of superuser. It auto updated twice...I skipped all setup accounts until dead last in case something was triggering it...no dice, it still did it. Tried clearing data on superuser, but it was greyed-out because there wasn't any data as of yet.
Also, I always restore apps...never data.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong...never had an issue like this.
Maybe superuser updating?
Edit: forgot to mention that on the second time round....I also tried to use the market to re-install my missing apps...and the same thing happened (phone restarts)
I'm gonna try it again and reinstall nothing & I'll report back

AHA!! A brand-new ROM - lots of questions!!
As a confirmed "flash-junkie" on my older Aria, I now have a 2-month old Inspire, and have already tried SO MANY ROMS I have lost count I really need to stop having it "out of commission" all the time because I'm trying something new!!! So -- I am looking for a Gingerbread ROM - definitely "no-sense" or very minimal Sense! (I use 3rd party apps for almost everything that Sense does and it takes so much space and time to load and run it all, or to delete so much every time I update a Sense ROM...
I have tons!!! of apps, and have been using CM7 nightlies - hoping for just the "right one" but I have not been completely satisfied for one reason or another... (Wi-Fi, GPS, ADW launcher so slow, lack of A2sd/EXT4 support, etc...)
What I want: I want to keep my most-used apps "internal" to load faster, and most of my "other" stuff, such as games, "testing" apps, reference library apps, etc. on a separate partition. I would prefer S2E/Link2SD type EXT-4 for the speed and "wipability..." I have used the S2E app, but don't like to move everything, I have tried Link2SD without much success, so I have been pretty much using standard A2SD, which is a pain...
So... what options does your ROM have for something like that? And... what setup do you recommend prior to flashing?? (i.e. pre-set EXT4 secondary partition?)
And... Is data/GPS/Wi-Fi etc. pretty stable without all the "fixes" to apply each update? I'm getting tired of editing build.prop, gps.conf, kernel flashing, etc. on this phone - I'd like to leave all that to my old phone and have my Inspire nice and set for pretty much my daily user -- if an OCD flash junkie can actually do that, anyhow - he he he
OK - I realize this was a very long post, but if you don't think your new ROM is my best choice, I'm open to other ideas from anyone!!!
Thanks!

I'm trying to remember what ver of SU is in the ROM i think it should be 3.0.2 (it was current as of the time i built the rom) I'm not convinced that that could be the issue. I dont use titanium backup as i just start from scratch, i dont much care about data just the apps so i havent tested anything with titanium backup. I'm curious what 6 apps don't install? is it the same 6 everytime? anything special about them? was your previous ROM an EXT3 or EXT4 ROM? are you using any apps2sd utils or have your sdcard partitioned? again thats one i don't use so havent tested for. (sorry if i tested for every possible scenario I'd never get anything done).
I'll try TB tonight and see what happens.

Well I'm probably the worst Flash junkie around I frequently run with broken ROMS just trying to test and build. since I only have one phone that becomes a real pain at times.
so to try to answer your questions. I don't use any apps2sd utils nor do i partion my sdcard nor move any apps to the sdcard and with this rom having on average around 400mb free I havent had much of a need to do so. that being said it does support extended partitions on the sdcard (up to 512mb) you can use any of the third party apps2sd utils just fine as well.
Data/GPS/WiFi including WiFi hotspot and tethering all work flawlessly in my opinion. stability has always been one of my biggest concerns that's why I started building ROMs so I could be the one in control of any stability issues that arose. there should be absolutly no need to edit the build.prop for anything that I'm aware of it is tweaked to provide the best results for the ROM.
Recomendations for prior to flashing. NAND NAND NAND Backups are your friend...
My updater-script is unique in that I am to my knowledge the only one who handles app backups and restores as well as cleanup and wiping through the script so in all reality you can download my ROM make a backup of your current ROM and then Flash mine with no concern of what style of ROM you came from.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions. in regards to whether or not i think this is the right one for you? that is a determination that only you can make. personally this has been my daily driver for nearly a week without issues and im not one for AOSP roms per say..
anyone having this problem?
when i try to install apps i have purchased, i try to install them after i downloaded them but when it trys to install my phone fast reboots, ig u could say lol, is this happening to anyone else.. cause i cant install any apps on my phone
Tried again ....this time I did not try to reinstall any apps via TIB...used market. Data shut off and phone rebooted with ANY app from the market.
It would download BUT then reboot before it finished installing.
Even tried apps at random...lol
Just to be sure it wasn't particular apps.
Tried clearing market data and also reformatted SD card ext4.
Lead me in the right direction if you can ...I'd really like to get this one running. I'm sure you put alot of time in on it & I think its gonna be a good one.

i have yyet to have any issues installing apps from the market yet others have had reboot issues when trying to restore from titanium backup. im not sure why this happens.
what rom did you come from? was it ext3 or ext4? sense or AOSP? and what apps are you trying to install, directly from market or from apk's downloaded to your sdcard? if previously downloaded can you adb them to your data/app folder?
both, and a miui rom the the one previous to the latest

Ok I tried titanium backup and I can restore apps and data just fine no rebooted or errors so I went and flashed back to a sense rom setup my apps and did a backup from TB then flashed ranger and did a restore from TB. No reboots no fc's so I'm stumped as to what is happening. Ill continue to look into this

Geek For Me is proud to present:
Fresh Shift 4.1.1
for your Sprint CDMA Evo Shift!
Included V6 SuperCharger in /system/xbin/V6_SuperCharger_u8.sh for those who want to use it.
Thanks to zeppelinrox for this. I am NOT the dev and won’t be supporting any questions with this script as it’s extensive. Please visit the original thread if you have any.
Added Fresh Updater (v1.4.0)
This will allow you to get fresh rom updates and mods straight from fresh updater
Check http://link.geekfor.me/updater for help on using it
Added some helpful text prompts to hopefully alleviate questions from when people don’t read the FAQ.
Removed some deprecated options to clean up the menus
NOTE: While you can still use fresh updater to download any updates/mods and then flash manually, it will only reboot and flash automatically if you’re using TWRP recovery. It will NOT work with clockwordmod to flash automatically.
Downgraded busybox to 1.18.2 to resolve some scripting issues
Updated DarkTremor apps2sd to 2.7.5.2-1
NOTE: DarkTremor apps2sd is not working on the Shift. If you are getting issues with FC’s or your phone rebooting when you install apps then run: adb shell a2sd remove
I’m looking in to this but I’ll most likely be removing it entirely as the dev for DT no longer supports it.
UPDATE: Spoke to the DT dev who wasn’t sure why it would be doing that however said that the project is abandoned and he won’t be looking in to fixing it. So I will be removing apps2sd in future versions. If you are getting the reboot issue when trying to install apps then you MUST remove it: adb shell a2sd remove
Updated Vending/Market to 3.3.12
Updated SuperUser to 3.0.7
Not every mod in this rom is outlined here if it was done in a previous version. Check the full change log here: http://link.geekfor.me/shiftchangelog

Why am I getting FC’s on gmail/market/voice search/whatever?
FC’s can be a common issue when /system/app contains an app that you already have on /data/app. So if you get a FC on gmail, the market, or something similar, then it can generally be fixed 99.99% of the time by either wiping that particular apps data (Settings < Manage Applications < All < YOUR APP < Clear Data), or going in and uninstalling it which will actually force it to use the one /system/app.
Or, of course, can be fixed 100% of the time by doing a full data wipe before installing! I have verified this rom as 100% FC free (at boot at least) so if you have issues, it’s your particular setup.
Why do I get invalid signature when flashing?
This zip is signed the same as I’ve signed every other rom for the last 2.5 years but was getting invalid signature from TWRC 1.1.1. So make sure signature checking is disabled. You can compare the md5 below to make sure your download is good though.
Is this Ice Cream Sandwich? It says it’s version 4.x?
No. This is version 4.x of Fresh Rom. The Android version is always in my change log and unless it’s tagged as a dev rom, will always be the newest official OTA, or possibly a beta tag for a leaked OTA.

I always listen to the community as a whole and if enough people want something then I will generally add it to my rom. So feel free to ask. However if it's something that only a few people want then I request that you do it yourself and submit a mod/theme/patch for the others to use!

Road map for next version:
All changes included in newest version
Thanks flipz for pushing this out. I have been running it since you let the donors have first crack at it. Ran really smooth with stock kernel, but as I like to play and try things I flashed dodgejcr's ext4 conversion and his 1.6 sense kernel . Things is pretty snappy only runnin it at 900mhz,smartass and BFQ.If there are any issues will report them, also is there and Odex version in the works? Thx for giving us shifters another option.

I'd be interested in knowing if you have any issues flashing roms once you do the ext4 conversion? The updater-script mounts it as ext3.
He has a zip that you flash to convert back to ext 3 then I flash any rom the mounts as ext 3 then flash the rom, then back the rom up flash the ext4 zip, restore the nand the flash the ext4 kernel an bam you have fresh shift runnin ext4.
Edit: This may explain it better than I can Fresh

Yeah FDX's method would work but for some reason, even while the filesystem is ext4, CWM and TWRP can still mount it as ext3 for the ROM flash. I havent heard of any problems with it just yet. As a suggestion, it would be awesome to have a sort of 'universal mounting' going on in the updater script to prevent any bugs that MAY occur.
Like I posted in my thread:
Code:
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
would use busybox to mount the /system partition regardless of FS type. Hope this helps you. If you need any additional help, let me know. Ill be happy to help in anyway I can.

They are in his/her original post.
@ dodger, flipz and fdx after alot of reading it seems that you can use the call for ext3 to mount both ext3 and 4 without issues.
so all our updater-scripts sound work without issues
Nice to see you around flipz
when i downloaded app it would reboot

I just tried installing an app and it rebooted as well. It doesn't reboot until it hits the "installing" part after the download. I tried it with fastboot on and off and still the same thing.
I'll try wiping and re-flashing everything again and see if that makes a difference.

a2sd on Stock Rom

I am using stock rom on rooted htc explorer, I tried installing a2sd on it through guide on Darktremor official facebook page but i always get an error meaning I'm not able to install it.
My sd card is ext3 partitioned. I tried installing beta02, using gingerbread. Can anyone tell me how do I install it?
i dont think it will work on stock rom because stock rom doesn't support init.rc script.
may developers can help you in this case

to run a2sd u need 2 things
1.Init.d and a2sd supported kernel
2.app2sd scripts
Instal busybox first.. then it will work!!
I'm trying to figure this out at the moment too. I think from what I can gather what you need to do is install a custom kernel. As I understand it, most of the Explorer custom kernels should work (although not the ones for the CM ROMs etc.). Something like Cranium or Titanium should do the job.
After installing that, it should be relatively straightforward, provided you haven't already got a FAT32 partition full of apps via link2SD (which I do...).
Hope you get it working, if you manage please do post back here with what you did and how it went, as I will probably be attempting this in the next week or two and would appreciate your experience.
Alright people!
Based on trial and error method:
Step by step instruction for a2SD on stock ROM
1.nandroid backup
2.backup all apps with titanium backup
3.unlink all apps if you're using link2SD and uninstall link2sd
3.1 install busbox from play store and install it.
4.backup and then format sdcard
5.partition with ext in recovery
2gb is enough
6.flash darktremors a2sd beta4 in recovery and then flash cranium kernel #2 or 800MHzkernel or kernel from ateeq ROM
7.wipe cache Dalvik cache and reboot
8.install a2sd gui
9.see if worked in gui
10.click move dalvik 2 sdext
11.wait for it
12.then move app data to sdcard with titanium backup after every app installation
13.enjoy HTC
FAQ:
1.I get "error installing from bla bla bla.zip"status 0
A:
Take the update binary from cranium kernel #2 and put it in the beta4 zip...
Just delete the update binary in beta4 and put the binary from cranium kernel zip
2.Now I get mount requires 4 args got only 3 status bla bla bla
A:
Well this time it'll be complicated..
Now open the update script with any text editor es note editor
You'll find that in beta4.zip you have mount system and then 3 parameters like "/data , etc etc," now you have to add a fourth parameter like this mount("yaffs2", "MTD", "system", "/system"); and the same way for data
If you're crazy enough, all you have to do is just copy and paste all the files in the beta4.zip in it's respective location and then give it permissions 777 (use terminal and es explorer)
And voila your zip finally installs!
That's it people!
If you don't understand anything mentioned here, google it search and search in xda until you find it.
All I can say is that it can be done and actually I'm sending this post from such a dt a2sd enabled stock ROM with 401apps in total!
Anyway all the best

But I have 593MB of linked apps...How can I unlink them into about 18MB of free space on internal memory?
Also out of curiosity, which specific kernel do you use?
Thanks for your list of steps though, should prove quite helpful if I do finally get round to doing this.
EDIT: I am starting the process. I have made a nandroid backup and Titanium Backup of all apps + data. I have also uninstalled almost all my linked apps, moved a few to internal. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to get DT apps2SD fully functional and then restore the Titanium Backup. I shall probably use cranium #2 kernel, is this the best option?
EDIT: Why do you recommend #2 and not #3? Is #3 buggy?

Just want to say that I have installed Cranium #2 and DT apps2SD script now, and things seem to working OK. I am in the process of restoring all my apps with Titanium (I sprung for the Pro version, so I could batch restore without clicking "Install" hundreds of times, if anyone else is doing this, I advise doing likewise), currently have about 53MB of free space (I think I maybe need to move data separately or something? I did have 82MB free earlier). But all in all, it seems reasonably successful
Thanks again ptcpayne for your assistance.

I ended up opening terminal emulator and typing "a2sd datasd", which did the job just fine. Plus this way I believe it should automatically be done for all future apps.
As for extracting apps from nandroid: Yes, it would appear so.

I'm rooted (it's obvious )
Running sense 3.5 stock Rom
And I want a script which can be flashed without wiping my data off on my current Rom.
I have partationed my sd card using cwm recovery , earlier I was using sense 4 flyrom v3 and for that I had partitioned but due to delay in launching apps and laziness of that Rom I switched back to stock but now I'm running out of space for my apps , so that's why I'm asking for script working on it ,

Check for yourself using any root app. Is there a folder /etc/init.d? If there is, then, you can flash any of the scripts like int2ext, a2sd, etc.
If there is no such folder, then, search for a ROM with init.d script support.
Yes , there is a folder so named . Please check screenshot . Can I flash mount 2 SD script now (aroma installer ) would it safe ?

Then guess you can...
But proceed at your own risk. These scripts are meant to be initialised during the first booting of a ROM. So, be careful and take a Nandroid backup in any case.

Did the first boot take some time?
If yes, check your internal memory.
If nothing changes, install apps like S2E or try the Mounts2SD from the play store and try. Since you have installed Mounts2SD, you would have to try installing the Mounts2SD app from play store.

[Q] No startup/response/nothing after M2SD and CMOD10 Beta6

Hey,
I have a strange but big problem..
Yesterday I installed Sakindias CMOD10 beta 6 (before I had beta 4). The install went well and after installing Gaaps, I wanted to install Mount2sd (the flashable version)
Now the problems started. I'll make a log of my actions:
- wipe/format factory reset
- wipe Dalvik
- install ROM (beta6)
- install GAAPS(superstripped)
- boot
- flash M2SD
- boot
- reboot (just to be sure...)
- ... this took long and it was late, so I thought.. go to sleep and charge the battery, so I plugged it in and expected it to just reboot normally since I didn't congifure m2sd at all
This morning I noticed it is still stucked in the Cyagoned boot screen..
Removed battery to reboot....but then.. NOTHING
IT DOES NOT START UP
no HTC logo, no LEDs... does not respond at all
Somebody a good solution to solve this? Or is it really trashed? If so... what happened?
There is a little bit progress:
I plugged the charge cable in after a while and now it has the "charge-battery screen" where it says that the battery is 0%....
pretty strange no? Since it was plugged in all night and the screen was still on this morning.
Anybody a idea what happened?
May be charger switch was off
Anyway, after charging Flash beta6 and boot, then gapp ,then boot and then m2sd .
Keep a watch on your internal memory every time

thanks for the tip!
what about the long booting? I used at M2SD with Rmount and data enabled in beta4. That worked perfect and fast, should be the same for beta 6 right?
Ungaze is the best and simplest way for using a script.Just download the .zip file of ungaze, extract it in your SD card and than transfer it via root explorer to your system and reboot. There is a complete guide in the forum just follow it.I am using Ungaze and am not facing a single problem.

Here's a theory
Effective from beta6,sakindia123 has made it that the system apps dalvik should not stay on /cache, but on /data /dalvik cache ~reducing your effective free space from beta 4 to beta 6 by about 80 MB.
Something extra has occupied your /data creating no space ~that's the theory
Now, if you have flashed any installed apps(like titanium backup through a flashable zip ) before ,that would clearly explain, why there wasn't enough space in data. But, if you haven't,it could be a case of burnt nand already eating up your remaining free space in your /data.
Or it's just mount2SD messing things up ~when there isn't enough free space
Other than that, my theory could be way off your real problemo
Use adb and Take a log and see to know your real problem.
In whichever case, I recommend you use the play store version of mount2SD ,it has various fixes and protection against such things.

I didn't even configure m2sd.. would that already fill up all the free space?
And about the burnt nand: I never used any OC sscripts or kernels.. that would make it unlikely right?

I used the app-version on beta4, but there it gave some stranges errors, like fc when opening the dev. settings screen...
I thought that the flashaple m2sd was the golden standard.. what do you recommend with beta6?

Though default is 600,
You do realize that beta6 comes with overclocked kernel and you kept it running whole night.
I still recommend mount2SD play version with kernel 2.6. But if you're comfortable with scripts, keep it.

thnx for your help..
I wanted to switch to beta6 in the hope that the wifi toggle would be fixed.. (I use that realy often)
however, I'm gonna try beta6 with the mount2sd app.. otherwise I'll just go back to beta4, worked well for me except the wifi toggle
Maybe you can tell me your configuration? beta6? which script to increase memory?
I don't think Wi-Fi toggle is fixed.
But I don't know for sure, since I don't use Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi toggle is working in Mini CM10's latest version. It is smooth and stable as well...if you use Wi-fi on daily basis,I would recommend Mini CM10 ROM.

I know I'm getting off-topic, but I tried the minicm10(v4) but it didn't really work out...
I noticed that the free internal memory is quite low after flashing (as fas as I know because sakindia put the dalvik cache on the internal.. right?) 150mb available, 40mb apps, 38mb free..
but my main problem is that I can't flash the super stripped gapps?!
I just did a clean install of the minicm10 rom(after factory reset & dalvik wipe) and installed the gapps (given in the thread).. but they don't show up after reboot.. :S
I haven't installed any memory scripts or whatever ....
edit: Now I tried my previous rom version (cmod10 beta 4), memory looks normal (150mb total, apps 40mb, free 90mb), but also here the gapps don't show up!
Any suggestions?? really appreciate your help!!
Can you post a screenshot of your /data and your /system and /cache with this app? Diskusage?

to late...I just started to format the SD-card and do a complete clean install of the minimod.. if the problem stays, I'll make the screen shot!
I think I'll try minimodV3, since it doesn't has the OC kernel and as far as I know is the dalvik cache not moved.
Or do you have another tip for a nice stable combination of ROM + increased memory?
You can use the configurable version and type "m2sd cmdalvik enable" after "m2sd rmount enable" in terminal emulator for a ROM in which dalvik cache is stored in /data

Nope.. I'm not a all Rom flasher. I only Flash cm main lined ones. Right now,I'm using cm10 beta 5 with video fix and kernel 2.6 and mount2SD play version(so, technically I recommend it )
Good luck, if you haven't burned it. ?.:thumbup:
