I would just like to get some feedback from T-Mobile users if they like the service they get. I'm currently with Verizon and just hate it. My wife and I are still under contract for about another year or so and I'm thinking of just paying the early termination fee and switching. Now I now coverage will vary depending on where you live but just want an overall view on your experiences with T-Mobile. Thanks

Unless you make six figures a year and have money to burn, go with T-Mobile
I left Verizon for TMO about 6 months ago. I'm definitely not Dissatisfied but it's definitely not an easy adjustment from LTE to HSPA+... Outside of the data speeds, I haven't hit a dead spot or dropped a call yet. YMMV.

Verizon reliability and speed are great. But their Bloatware sucks and you can't remove it completely.
Tmo is very reasonable if you live in city. In rural areas you'll have problems. Speed is decent and phones don't have all the security bloatware like Vzw.
If you travel for business use Vzw. If you rarely leave town then its personal choice really
Sent from my VS930 4G using xda app-developers app
Thanks everyone. I don't travel so I'm probably going to get T-Mobile. I like that its cheaper and they don't lock their phones down. The only decision left to make is should I wait or buy my way out? Guess I'll have to see how much it costs.

a few days ago I received the infamous 5% email. I am currently sitting at 4.9GB of data usage on the unlimited LTE grandfathered plan. when all of a sudden my up/down is now at 100k/100k almost symmetrical.
wanted to check with a panel of my peers. have any of you experienced this?

You may have better luck with this question in a forum for another LTE phone, or your own phone.
This Galaxy S II does not support LTE.
On my last bill I hit 5GB less than 10 days in, using a lot of Netflix. I managed to end the billing period with just over 8. My norm is 6-7. I have never been throttled, nor accused of tethering (which I don't use).
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
I can tell you that I'm at 26gigs for this month and I have gotten no notice from att. This is from downloading all podcasts. I'm only doing this for comparison...this obviously isn't typical usage. So now we can confirm the top 5% is a load of crap. Sounds more like they are throttling depending on what you do and not how much you do. There goes net neutrality.

I think the OP has a GSII ****rocket.
Anyways AT&T is known for throttling LTE users for low usage.
On HSPA+ on My note, I hit 11gigs and they threatened to throttle me on Day 28 of my billing cycle. I think they just throttle based on what speed you have. F***ers

Hmm, did you root? WiFi could be a boot.img problem. I've not had signal issues but flashing the latest radio or the eu radio fixed it for others. What? The One S has great battery. I get almost six hours of heavy usage [Games, Web, Music at the same time]. The only thing I wish for is more access to ram. There is no reason I should only have 200 free mbs.
Go to one s. It's tied at first for a reason. I have NO problems. Signal is great and very fast with great battery. Chicago

Gs3 is officially on its way back and rocking the one s again unlocked, rooted using axiom 1.6, twrp and latest eu radio. Reception has been awesome and holds steady no matter what. I do lose service at home which seems to be an issue with low signal strength on 4g and not rolling over to edge. Not a big deal because wifi is available at home. This phone just feels completely better than the gs3 and is definitely faster! Plus I have 75gbs of free drop box space ;-) so that makes up for any storage issues between the two.
How can the one s be faster than gs3? Gs3 is quad core

Boost uses Sprint network without the benefit of any roaming agreements. Sprint network without the Verizon roaming agreement is horrible. The reason Sprint is rolling out lte is cuz wimax 4g is a failure. There is a reason the service is cheap. Contract and prepay is not comparing apples to apples. It's apples to tomatoes.

Hey I have a chance to get a phone on contract and switch it to my unlimited plan on Verizon. I have an s3. Is this the best on verizon. My friend for some reason has really bad credit but has a chance to get new lines with new contract price. Then he is just not going to pay. Now this isn't something I would do but he did offered me a chance to get any phone I want for cheap price. Should I keep my s3 or just get a different phone and sell it.

Do you like the Note 2? I'd get that if I had the chance. If you want to wait a few months then we may see the GS4. The best phone currently announced is Xperia Z which who knows will ever come to VZW.
I do like the note 2 but it is pretty big. Is that the best phone to get

That's dirty, man.
yeah when you said "for some reason" your friend has bad credit.... Doing stuff like this is the reason. It's also why lots of people who are just joining verizon pay a $300 deductible for service. That being said, my gf has the SIII, and I'm still rockin' the GNEX running ParanoidAndroid. I'm upgrading my work phone and going with either the Note2 or the DNA. I think you'd get a better re-sale price for either of these 2 phones than for the SIII if that's what you're looking for.

Honestly you should blame the verizon reps. We went today and he was 250 past due. Usually they don't open new lines. He was going to pay it but the rep said its Ok I have a way around it so you can pay later. I was on the side like WHAT. What would you do. So not to a note 2 at 350? Instead of full retail? I ended get the note 2 for my gf which it is pretty cool.

Ya have you heard the rumored size of the note3. It's going to be 6.5 inches. I think the 5.5 is pushing it. I held the note 2 is not to bad but anything bigger than that is pointless to me unless you are on bluetooth headset all day for calls. The battery has to be humongous to power that bad boy.

However, I don't see any reasonable qwerty phones out there, since the Galaxy Relay 4G (which she has now).
