Problem: Stuck in bootloop after BMM, cant FXZ - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi guys,
So i finally decided to hop on back to custom ROM's after official ICS, figured by now most bugs would've been worked out right.
I booted into BMM, & flashed the ROM (Mokee) into the 2nd system, but then when i tried to reboot, it gave the following message:
"Checking system integrity... Bad!
hijack version mismatched!
Bootmenu will not run in next boot
If this is a mistake, reinstall via System keeper menu"
Click to collapse
I decide then not to reboot into this system, so I change over back to the stock system & reboot from there, & it seems to be going ok, till it bootloops.
I then tried to FXZ back to stock, tried it twice but this also doesnt work. This is the error message shown on RSD:
Failed Flashing Process. Failed flashing process. 2/20 flash mbm "allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. ;phone connected.

Also, for some reason, the phone display in fastboot shows the following message:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.72
Battery low
Cannot program
Transfer mode:
USB Connected

What does this actually mean, & is this the problem? I've left the phone on the charger for a few hours, but this hasn't changed
Any help greatly appreciated

I think u just brick ur phone.. If its not charged u need to use external charger or use the mcgyver charging
method.. Someone succeed here..

Gave the McGyver charging a try, eventually got it to work with some fiddling around, it gets past the previous stage but then now it gives another error:
Failed Flashing Process. Failed flashing process. 7/20 flash cdt.bin "cdt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. ;phone connected.

What could this mean?

First of all, can someone confirm whether I've got the right firmware? My phone is the US AT&T model, and I downloaded the 6.7.2_EDEM-18-MEARET firmware from this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934874

Which version of Atrix 2 do you have? Flashing the wrong FXZ can permanently brick your phone. I would strongly recommend that you don't flash anything else until you know for sure that you have the correct FXZ.

Thanks, I overlooked the part where he said his was an AT&T.

Yup I eventually figured it out later. I had to do some more McGyvering coz the battery error returned, but i finally got it to work. Thanks guys!
As a side note, which gapps version should i flash with this rom? Stock ICS is 4.0.4, but the rom (Mokee) has 4.2.2 on it, so do I flash the 4.2.2 version?
Cheers!

Sorry for the long delay. Ah I kind-of already disassembled it I dont flash often so it wasn't really anything permanent, I'll build a proper one when it happens again, but i can give a simple explanation of 2 methods i tried:
USB CHARGER
I tried the usb charger method, but for some reason, while in fastboot it would show "Battery OK, OK to Program", but then when the FXZ flashing process gets to around 7/20, it would revert back to "Battery LOW, Cannot Program".
If you still wanna try it, just get anything with a usb cable. I used an old mouse that was broken. Cut the cable, & you should see 4 wires: blue, green, white & yellow.
I then used a multimeter to find out polarities of the wire & which one carried 5V, ( turned out it was the blue+white cables. From memory, blue was +ve & white was -ve, but this can vary depending on what you use as the power source e.g computer, mains usb charger etc) .
Once you know this, then just attach the +ve wire to the +ve side of the battery, & vice versa for the -ve wire. Make sure you strip enough of the wire insulation so that only the metal part is in contact with the battery, and also make sure that the other wires don't touch, it could short the power supply.
(see the attached picture USB_Charger, its too big to put here)
ANY OTHER CHARGER
This is the method that worked for me, however, its abit more risky, but i guess if you are into flashing you have already accepted the risks that come with it
First off, you will need another charger. Any charger will work, but to make things much easier for you, try to pick a charger that looks like this:
(see the attached picture Other_Charger, its too big to put here)
It may not be clear in the photo, but there is a hole in the middle of that charger. The reason I recommend this type is because most, if not all, of these chargers follow the convention that the hole in the middle is the +ve terminal, & the outside is the -ve terminal. This way you know exactly the polarity of the charger even if you cant measure the polarity of the charger.
Ok, once you know the polarity, just attach a wire to the inside & outside of the charger, or if you picked a different type of charger, attach wires to the correct terminals, then attach to the corresponding battery terminals.
Now, with both of these methods you can do this in 2 ways. One is to return the battery with the wires into the phone, & try flashing. That didnt work for me, so i just attached the wires, & charged the battery outside the phone, then after some time unplug the wires & return the battery into the phone. With the USB Charger, I left the battery charging overnight, but when i came back it was still not fully charged. Thats when i switched to the other charger. Coz this charger is slightly more powerful that the usb charger, i charged the battery for about 40 min, then returned it to the phone to check, & it was charged :victory: . I would suggest if you charge outside the phone, charge the battery for 30-40min at first, then check if its charged. If not, charge in 15 min increments until it's charged, this way you avoid damaging the battery.
Sorry if this post is too long, didnt know how else to explain this in simpler terms
Hope this was helpful.

No worries mate Did u use a camera battery charger or just the usb cable? I was hoping to use the charging indicator light to know when the battery was fully charged, but my camera charger has 3 terminals, & when I hooked up just the +ve & -ve to the phone battery, it didnt work, & I couldnt figure out what the 3rd terminal was for

Q: Is FXZ something I should be doing? (Stuck at Moto boot screen)

So, I was attempting to change my font by using Font Installer. I selected the font I wanted, it goes to reboot like normal, but instead it freezes. So I wait a couple minutes, then I pulled the battery. Now my device is stuck at Motorola's boot screen.
So I'm searching around to see what I can do to fix this issue and get my device back up and running. And it looks like its going to be the FXZ.
Is a FXZ appropriate for this situation( I asked this because all of the other threads were for more complicated occasions than mine)? Or are there other options I can try before diving into it?
Thanks for any help....
If after several tries you still can't get past the Motorola boot screen then yes you need to flash the FXZ.

If after several attempts, its a good idea the to flash the fix. Just make sure you have a good charge before you do so, and never unplug it while its flashing.
Ok, I just followed the directions on the stickied thread on how to do the FXZ. How do I know when its done? Because it seems like it just stopped without saying anything.
ETA: After pressing the power button, at the top of my phone screen it says (Flash Failure).

It'll say "completed" or something when its done and your phone will reboot, show a loading screen, and then tell you to set up your Google account. If you're using RSD Lite then it will give you progress (ie 7/20) in the list of phones at the bottom. It will take maybe 5-7 minutes in all.

At this point I'm not sure really what to tell you. I would say don't try it again until you talk to someone like Jim, to see your options. I am sorry you have to hear this but there is a possibility you may have a hard-bricked phone. Shoot a pm to Jim and see what he says. I personally don't have any experiences with a failed fkz flash so I don't want to give you any bad advice.
Oh, wow... This is really depressing. Is 'Jim' his user name?

Heres a link to his profile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=747555
You can PM him from there.
Also, as I've said I have no experience with failed fkz flashes, so there might be a really easy way to get around this that I don't know so don't be depressed . He is one of the most experienced developers on the Atrix 2 Forums so if anyone can fix it it's him!
Make sure you are still in fastboot and then go ahead and unzip the FXZ to your desktop and let RSD find the file itself by using the 3 little dots next to the start button and try flashing it again. Sometimes RSD can be quirky, make sure to pay attention as the steps proceed to see if you are getting any errors. When it gets to step 20/20 if will reboot your phone itself and then flash the files upon reboot. Give it a moment and it shound say whether you've had success. Hopefully it will work for ya.
I greatly appreciate you all's help!
Sadly, I think this Atrix 2 is done (After attempting the help from Jim, as well as from the thread). I just ordered another one... smh
I'll still tinker with it, in hopes of getting lucky.
Is there in any profit with selling it for parts, or something?
About an hour ago I decided to plug my device up and give it a go one more time.
And what do you know? IT WORKS!!!! #HappyDance
I think what caused the FXZ to fail was something with the ports on my laptop, because sometimes it won't recognize devices that are plugged in (This happens on all four of my ports). After I finally got it to recognize my device, and followed the FXZ instructions, and it all worked out!
Again, I will like to thank you all for your help. Greatly appreciated!!

I've proved a pride name of noob in Android by flashing ebtblob.bin for TF201 downloaded @ here _ttp://androidroot.mobi/t3_nvflash/.

If you really can enter fastboot, you should be able to flash a stock image blob.
Download the appropriate firmware from ASUS (http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_TF700T/#download). Inside the zip you get is another zip, and inside that other zip there's a file named 'blob'. Extract that file and the run 'fastboot flash staging blob' (where blob is your newly extracted file) and then 'fastboot reboot'. You may need to run fastboot with that '-[something] 0x[something]' argument for it to work.
If fastboot really does still work, that should bring you back to the stock bootloader. Good luck!
Also, don't attempt to use that nvflash kit again. It's ONLY for TF201 right now.

You should NOT try to flash that 'ebtblob.bin' file from AndroidRoot on your TF700 again! It's ONLY made for the TF201! What I told you to flash was the 'blob' file from a stock firmware download... Or did you overwrite your old 'ebtblob.bin' with the stock 'blob' file?

I see, sorry, but still.
I replaced the staging with ebtblob.bin for TF201, yeah, and got black screen.
Now I reflashed it with blob from original picture and got image and some kind of loading. Hope to recover soon.
P.S. fastboot mode takes HUGE time to flash, I spent over 4 hours and finally the device went down due to discharging.
Thanks anyone for help and now we know that devices can be recovered if flashed wrong, although VERY slowly.

How would you do fastboot on this tablet WITH AC power supply? There is only one USB/charging port, and it doesn't get charged over USB only...
Do a full charge first, I guess. But perhaps it would be easier to flash the recovery through ADB and go from there?

It did not work at ADB mode. Actually, i had the black screen, and the backlight was flashing once per three seconds, that I had.
Now I've installed TWRP and everything seems much better.
I'm too much used to WM-based devices with direct reflash
P.S. Surely, I'd never begin to flash a not fully charged device.
P.P.S. Since my TF700 works now, I think the main topic can be closed and the solution, though a bit ramshackle, put info Wiki:
Never flash any file intended for another device, unless the compatibility is proved
The device can be repaired by means of flashing the blob of the same firmware via fastboot mode
Fastboot mode is very slow, so a full firmware (~800 Mb) can't be flashed during a single charge
I see Glad you're back on, I learned my lessons after softbricking mine some time ago.
So what do you mean by the same firmware? (point 2.)

Well, as it's clear that fastboot does not allow to reflash full ROM for a single charge and since it writes block-by-block, not in file-based mode, we can get something broken if the firmware differs.
Ex., I had 9.4.5.26 firmware, if I flashed 9.4.5.22 and the tablet dies when it's rewriting blocks that differ in there firmwares, I'd get some software broken (and FS errors).
When reflashing the same (9.4.5.26) firmware I've much more probability that the blocks under system files will be the same, and as I have all firmware except bootloader working, I don't need to perform a full reflash, so the tablet could die any time after the proper bootloader has been uploaded.
Surely, even if firmware differs, I can always reflash it in adb mobe after the bootloader is fixed and the device perfoms initial boot steps without errors, but it adds one more step.
That's perfectly understandable, but the way it was put in context in your post it could suggest you meant to flash the same blob from another device that got you into trouble in the first place, which was rather surprising

Maxx Hd Encryption unsucsessful bug

Ok so i was on my phone when all of a sudden my home screen kept crashing and pushing the window to close it. So i closed it and powered down the phone thinking a restart would help. It subsequently went to the Encryption Unsuccessful page where it tells you that your phone will need a Factory Reset. So i power down my phone and some times itll restart to the "E.U" screen 3/4 times. When i get it to power down and not power on i try to use the Volume+&Power. It'll pull to the menu and ill scroll to the Recovery and click it but itll push right back to the " Encryption Unsuccessful" screen. On the "Encryption Unsuccessful" Page i have a "Reset Phone" button but it does nothing but turn blue from gray when i press it. I can even take screenshots on the "E.U" page. I URGENTLY need my phone because im constantly awaiting interview calls and im waiting for a certain one. Will try other things until i get a Reply from this. If I fix it over night (well morning now) ill let you know with what stwps

I was on the most updated STOCK ROM. And i didnt want to encrypt my phone either i think i may have hit that setting when my homescreen was crashing over and over. I was wondering if it could be heat damage because I have a laptop with a metal case (****ing Dumbass Alienware) and i was playing rust for almost the whole day and it gets like hot to the touch when i play that long and the phone was in my pocket. If you could link me to a tut for how to flash with rsd and a link to the stock ROM ill go through and try that tonight and post my results either in the am or right when i finish depending on what time it is and what im doing.
Another thing that sucks is theres no warranty and i have no carrier on it ATM (its a verizon phone without the sim, basically an android ipod)

its possible rsd may work, but i wouldnt be surprised if it doesnt. encryption errors are bad and sometimes unfixable.
if you are able to boot the phone and tell me the system version, i can provide an end all script to try.
if you cant get the system version, have you taken an update in the last couple weeks? that will tell me what you are on if yes or no.
also, you will need to be able to get into fastboot to use any script, you can get there right?
Encryption errors are triggered by the data partition becoming unmountable (data file system corruption?).
Data and data/media wipe (factory reset) could fix it (unless the data partition part of storage device is physically damaged).

Thank you for providing the link to everything i will be trying that in the morning just to give it a try

its possible rsd may work, but i wouldnt be surprised if it doesnt. encryption errors are bad and sometimes unfixable.
if you are able to boot the phone and tell me the system version, i can provide an end all script to try.
if you cant get the system version, have you taken an update in the last couple weeks? that will tell me what you are on if yes or no.
also, you will need to be able to get into fastboot to use any script, you can get there right?

No i hadn't updated it in the past weeks and yes i can get into fastboot.

Encryption errors are triggered by the data partition becoming unmountable (data file system corruption?).
Data and data/media wipe (factory reset) could fix it (unless the data partition part of storage device is physically damaged).

Yeah i believe it may of been heat damage because of my laptop accumulating a lot of heat on the metal casing and that combined with 17hrs of Archeage = one hot laptop
And also for all who replied i sometimes get a picture of the little android dude laying down with his stomach hatch open and a caution sybol above it. Dont know if thats something bad or if its just buggy because i can hard reset it (pwr + Vol-) and turn it back to the encryption unsucsessful page.

regardless of the issue, "if it is fixable", this will do it.
there are certain situations that cant be fixed by rsd and standard fastboot. the above tool will fix any issue that is fixable.

[HELP] Why is my Note 5 No Longer Fast Charging?

My Note 5 has recently stopped fast charging. I've replaced that cables and even tried using my girlfriends S6 fast charger and still nothing. My girlfriend can still fast charge her phone on my old OEM fast charger block and cable without any problems. I've done some googling and the only advice is to replace the cable and block, but again that isn't the problem. Does anyone have a solution for this or may know where the problem lies? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If not cables, use the warrenty on phone

Ugh that's what I was trying to avoid but if that's the only solution I just may have to do that. Thanks.
Boot into safe mode and see if it's working. If it is, let it take a full charge and reboot back into standard mode.

I had this same problem 3 days ago, i was on latest Moar with stock kernel so i decided to back up all my apps with titanium backup, factory reset the phone, reinstall Moar but this time i installed djvoleur kernel instead of stock and now fast charging always works, always

In layman's terms a factory reset solved your problem?

Ok, figured mine out.
Turned out to be the cable. I swapped it out with one of the superior quality blackberry cables I bought a while back and mine is fast charging again. Maybe take yours in along with the charger and let them test it on one they have at the store too. The stock charger should have a lightning bolt sticker on it that says it is a fast charger too.
I recently had this problem, I got an aftermarket fast charging cord and it fixed the problem. It seems the stock charging cord went bad or something. Costed 5 dollars off eBay and it's 6ft long, its much better than the original.

Also it could be a dirty cable connection port. Mine was full of lint I used a needle to clean out my port and bam fast charge again.

I have the same issue. Multiple Samsung Adaptive Fast Chargers which use to charge the phone, now do not. Qi inductive charging seems to be working but not sure if its at the fast rate. Using Samsung Galaxy Charging Current to monitor when inductively charging it. Occasionally that does not working but rebooting phone, then re-enables that functionality. Odd..

Aha... @Juansegovia20 I think you may be on to something. I've been on MOAR 4.3 for some time and it HAD been working, then it started not working. Can't think of anything I changed that may have caused this. I believe I am also on stock kernel. Is the djvoleur kernel one of the options on the MOAR installer wizard or did you sideload that? Thanks for this

Thanks @tdunham. I've responded above that I'm on MOAR 4.3 and out of nowhere I seem to have experienced this. Inductive is still working but not sure if its at the faster rate.

oneplus one stuck at bootloop when not charging

HI I have 1+1 and its 2 years 3 month old. Presently its on CM13 MM(oxygen OS I guess) and rooted and have a recovery also. I did root and recovery around 8 months back.
2 days back when mobile was in pocket and 35% battery it went in to bootloop. after lot of stuffs like clearing cache and dalvik cache nothing worked.
Later at night i found out that mobile is working fine when its connected to charging (either by lapi or Mob charger). Hence I didn't go back to old recovery.
yesterday fully drained my battery and later charged to full and found same issue.
I am not able to make out whats the issue and how to move forward if I don't want to loose my resent data state. PLs guys help me to solve this issue.
will do whatever needed to restore my mobile. TIA
Wait I didn't understand what u said ,ur saying that your phone gets stuck in boot loop when its not charging ,what happens when you are changing and then u plug it off ? Does it like reset ?

see it sounds weird but its true. when i connect charging it boots in normally and normal operation will start as usual. Even after full starting, once I remove charging connection it goes off to boot loop. I didn't do any modification in software also. just did normal downloading off apps.
I saw slimier 2 complaints in Oneplus forum but no one relied for that. even originator has not updated what he did finally. I have asked for reply from them too.

Seems to me like a hardware issue.
Can you be on recovery/fastboot without the need of a charger?

Then no issues with hardware....seems like a bad/corrupt frimware.
You need to unlock your bootloader and flash latest Cos13 through fastboot.
How to- https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...oader-install-custom-recovery-and-root.64487/
To flash Cos13- https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
Hope this helps.
Edit:After reading your first post seems like you're already rooted and have Twrp installed, with a unlocked bootloader, obviously.Though I don't able to understand if you're using cm13 or cos13 or oxygen os...
If you don't want to loose your internal storage, you can skip the userdata flash command while flashing Cos13 through fastboot, though,it is recommended to do that command.
You can always go to Twrp and take the backup of your internal storage in pc through MTP or a full backup using ADB.

thanks pal. yes bootloader and all is unlocked. will see about this in coming weekend.
can't this problem be fixed if i just move back to old backup?
meanwhile is there any shortcut that reduce the time frame for doing all this on existing data. If anyone knows pls share. If this is the only go then do comment will ask to close the thread.

bro one more issue started yesterday. I thought to making battery full nil and charge to 100% may help.
Before without charging connected I was able to go in twrp but not now. if i remove charging its going to restart even recovery mode also. When I went to restore old backup in TWRP mobile is auto starting even when charger is connected. but if i dont do anything its staying fine in TWRP lock screen.
without charging connected i can go into fastboot n stay for as long as i want but comp is not detecting mobile even though developer option is ON.
Yesterday thought of restoring old backup which interrupted half within 1min and now if i start mobile while charging its getting struk at 1+1 welcome screen.
I am fully confused like anything..
is it not strange that so many people (including) have started facing this issue suddenly in the past two months?
I too am facing this issue. Has anyone managed to find a fix for the issue?

flashing and all is time waste. If u r facing similar issue as quoted by me then its a battery problem. if your battery is not changed till now and old one around 2 years or more pls change it.
I wasted lot of time in flashing and lost all my data. I wish someone would have helped me with battery change suggestion. all the best..

But the sad truth is we can't get any original / as good as original replacement. Oneplus stopped production 2years ago. I did a quick google search and found out most of the batteries are ****. As you're name suggests, I think you're from India. Can you please inform me if you find any decent batteries? I will inform you if I find anything good.
Thx

yes I am from India. I would suggest you first try with replacement battery as everyone sell replacement battery. you can find any of these in ebay. In India Oneplus is ready to arrange a original one costing Rs 1800. They asked me for a week time to arrange original battery. So its upto u to decide to take new one or replacement.

Me too having the same issue. Seems like OnePlus one devices have some kind of kill switch to ruin it after 2.5 years. Quite a few number of people seems to have this issue all of a sudden.
