I'm on build number 15.0.A.2.17.
tried motochopper, Eroot, Doomlord's Easy-Rooting-Toolkit, but nothing worked.
motochopper shows successfully rooted but when i try to backup my TA, it shows "device not rooted properly"
After using motochopper did superSU get installed?
I'm using the firmware I got here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397275
and motochopper worked fine for me, but I haven't yet tried to backup.

Hello! I have an Xperia M2 and I want to root it. As far as my phone is branded and the bootloader is locked, I can't downgrade to JB (4.3) because I can't find the FTF for Orange RO. I tried all the methods listed on how to root locked bootloader but without succes. Can someone guide me somehow? Android without root is useless for me, thanks in advance!

Not sure how it works with branded phones, but I would try this nonetheless:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/help/qa-rooting-locked-bootloader-ota-method-t2999665
use the attached kernel (it's for M2). If it gets flashed you are all setup. Just be sure to have downloaded and updated first your phone to its latest FTF. From the downloaded FTF you can flash back its original kernel after the rooting.
Thanks for reply!

I tried but rootkitxperia is not working.. Says waiting for device or the thing with "daemon started", no effect, can you help me? Kernel had been flashed and it is bootlooping.

So does that mean that you could flash JB kernel? In that case your phone can be rooted with that method. Just make it sure you follow the guide step by step. If rootkitXperia/adb isn't working make it sure that adb debug is enabled in the phone and that you didn't wipe the data while flashing the kernel.
Now I don't remember well, but I think that other people had issues with rootkitXperia. So they used another rootkit. Don't ask me which one. You'll have better chance to get help asking it in the thread.
The first time I rooted with Stump Root, it worked. But then I accidentally unrooted with SuperSu's Full Unroot. Then I tried to root it again with Stump Root, but then I got "ERROR: Unsupported Device" Please help. Thank you.

I have Android 4.4.2 kitkat. Plus I already tried it and it didn't work (including the version 1.2).
Try this guide, its more involved but worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
Its what the one click root guide is based off of. If that doesn't work, you may just have to restore to stock using a TOT file and then re-root with stump root.
Let us know if this guide works or not. Best of luck!
Please try towel root.

Sorry for the late response, but that method WORKS!
Hi there.
My phone was rooted (used it for xposed installer, titanium backup and tasker). But as I wanted to upgrade to lolipop I've installed SuperSu program from playstore and under settings I chose unroot permanently. It did unroot as titanium backup is reporting my phone isn't rooted. I downloaded OTA file and it asked for upgrade. It rebooted but after a few seconds it reprted error and my phone just rebooted.
So how do I properly unroot or do I have to do something else in order to upgrade from kitkat to lolipop?
I don't use custom recovery.
EDIT: Hm It looks like root checker says root access is not properly installed. So I don't know if it's properly unrooted. Should I follow this guide instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Please help.

I've just used this method to restore firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 so now I'm unrooted 4.4.4 210.12.40.falcon_umts.Retal.en.GB but when I go under System updates I get: Your device's software is up to date.
Damn. So much fuzz and not OTA won't give me any updates. Any suggestions?
Hello All My Friends.
I want to Run XMOD but as you all know it does not works on UNROOTED devices. So i tried to root my device. I tried rooting my device with several methods BUT FAILED TO ROOT. Please check my steps below. Are They Correct ?
MY VERY FIRST METHOD
* I tried rooting with several apps like Framaroot, kingoroot, but I failed.
SECONDLY
* Then i found a thread on XDA for rooting by flashing SuperSU. Alright.
What i did was first i unlocked my Bootloader. (MY SCREEN IS SHOWING : Device Is Unlocked : Status Code 3)
Then i installed TWRP.
After that i Flashed 'UPDATE SuperSU v 2.46.zip'
After successful flashing MY PHONE STUCKED ON 'UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WARNING LOGO'.
* i waited for more than 30 minutes but i failed.
THIRD METHOD
I also tried with this method.
Downloaded 'r2-motog-superboot' and connected my phone.
Typed this command superboot-windows.bat file.
PHONE RESTARTED BUT IT DID NOT ROOTED MY DEVICE. I checked with Root Checker App It Is Showing UNROOTED.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME TO ROOT.
MY PHONE's O/S Is Android Marshmallow 6.0
I FLASHED MY PHONE WITH STOCK ROM I NOW MY DEVICE IS WORKING. BUT I WANT TO ROOT IT.

Hi kiselina777, I too am searching for a root method that doesn't require unlocking the bootloader (most because of the 14 day wait), have you had any luck in finding one?
Hello Colloseo,
do you have any news regarding the systemless rooting?
Thanks!
Any progress at all regarding systemless rooting?
Does anyone tried these methods already? Any update on that?
when comes method 3?
and is this really also possible with the P2?
At this time, the only available methods are described here:
Lenovo P2
I had a problem
I've tried the first way:
unlock the bootlader (and wait 14 days)
get adb
flash TWRP
put the SuperSU .zip file, found here supersu.com/download, in the normal memory (i don't have a sdcard)
open the recovery, that now is TWRP recovery, search the supersu .zip file that i previously put in my phone and click install
reboot the phone
and NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, I've done it so many times, reflashing the recovery, installing SuperSU from the play store before installing from the phone, but whenever i enter the SuperSU app it says "no root found".
Even if TWRP recovery said "installed succesfully" my phone still doesn't have the root privileges, did I miss any passage?
EDIT
I've tried with me.phh.superuser.apk, found in the xda developer instead of the SuperSU official site, and using the superuser256.zip found in the same site (forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73667960&postcount=5).
Work perfectly
Thanks medwatt !!!!!!!!!!!
