Can't root LG G2 d80020y - AT&T LG G2

The first time I rooted with Stump Root, it worked. But then I accidentally unrooted with SuperSu's Full Unroot. Then I tried to root it again with Stump Root, but then I got "ERROR: Unsupported Device" Please help. Thank you.

I have Android 4.4.2 kitkat. Plus I already tried it and it didn't work (including the version 1.2).

Try this guide, its more involved but worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
Its what the one click root guide is based off of. If that doesn't work, you may just have to restore to stock using a TOT file and then re-root with stump root.
Let us know if this guide works or not. Best of luck!

Please try towel root.

Hello All My Friends.
I want to Run XMOD but as you all know it does not works on UNROOTED devices. So i tried to root my device. I tried rooting my device with several methods BUT FAILED TO ROOT. Please check my steps below. Are They Correct ?
MY VERY FIRST METHOD
* I tried rooting with several apps like Framaroot, kingoroot, but I failed.
SECONDLY
* Then i found a thread on XDA for rooting by flashing SuperSU. Alright.
What i did was first i unlocked my Bootloader. (MY SCREEN IS SHOWING : Device Is Unlocked : Status Code 3)
Then i installed TWRP.
After that i Flashed 'UPDATE SuperSU v 2.46.zip'
After successful flashing MY PHONE STUCKED ON 'UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WARNING LOGO'.
* i waited for more than 30 minutes but i failed.
THIRD METHOD
I also tried with this method.
Downloaded 'r2-motog-superboot' and connected my phone.
Typed this command superboot-windows.bat file.
PHONE RESTARTED BUT IT DID NOT ROOTED MY DEVICE. I checked with Root Checker App It Is Showing UNROOTED.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME TO ROOT.
MY PHONE's O/S Is Android Marshmallow 6.0
I FLASHED MY PHONE WITH STOCK ROM I NOW MY DEVICE IS WORKING. BUT I WANT TO ROOT IT.

Regain root after Marhmallow update?

I had Android 5.0 (PB1) and was rooted. I updated to Marshmallow using the posted method, and everything went well, but I did lose root access after updating to Marshmallow, which I did expect. I did downgrade to 5.0 (PB1) and tried to root using the posted directions, but to no avail. I am now attempting to update back to marshmallow. I also have a LOCKED bootloader.
Goto rooting the S5 thread as locked 6.0.1 is rooted for days now.

So I still can root with 6.01 with a locked bootloder?
No, you cannot. This is discussed in numerous threads. Such as Muniz_ri's root thread and the unlock bootlooder thread. Please search before posting a thread which this has been mentioned. Thank you
Got to downgrade then root etc..

I read that article, but you need to be rooted do that, I tried to downgrade to 5.0 (PB1) and tried to root according to the directions from the link that is also referenced to on that page, but it did not work. Is there a specific way to downgrade to 5.0 (PB1) and to root? What iI did was I used Odin and flashed the PB1 image and then tried the rooting method mentioned, but it did not work. If there is a specific way to downgrade to PB1 and root, then I can follow the directions that you suggested to me.

i did this a bunch of times with my S5 with a locked bootloader (i have a Toshiba 11 emmc) --
flash stock PB1 and follow the Get Root instructions on PB1, http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370
then follow upgrade instructions for locked bootloader to PD1. try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ow-to-flash-custom-6-0-1-roms-locked-t3393943 (this worked for me)
( there is also this one, but it didnt work for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...w-to-update-to-g900voe1-5-0-keeproot-t3149784 )
All the info is here in the forums. good luck!

I was initially on PB1 with root access, and looking back, I should have followed the link of how to unlock the boot loader and to update to PD1. Unfortunately, I followed the directions on the last link you gave me, the one you said that didn't work for you.....the one about updating to PD1 for locked boot loaders. Unlike you, it worked for me. I was on PD1 without a problem, but I wasn't rooted.. So I tried to downgrade back to PB1 and then follow the rooting directions, but it didn't work for me.
From what I have been told, since I upgraded to 6.0 (PD1), it is IMPOSSIBLE to downgrade to 5.0 and root. Is this correct?
Also, if that is the case, then is it possible for me to apply a pre rooted 5.0 image, so I can unlock the blootloader and update to 6.0?
Thanks in advance.
THERE IS NO ROOT FOR PD1 (MashMellow) for LOCKED BOOTLOADER yet. Once you're on MM 6.0 you will lose root. If you want root, you need to downgrade back to PB1 (LP), then get root working again. Once up upgrade from PB1 LP to 6.0 MM you will lose root.

I am aware that once I got to PD1, I will lose root. I am also aware that I need to downgrade to PB1 and get root working again, but that is my precise problem. I have gotten back to PB1 flashing PB1 image, but I can't seem to get it rooted, at least not by following the directions mentioned on http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370.
Question. After flashing back to PB1, do you I need to flash the PB1 bootloader? For some reason, I am unable to root when I get back to PB1.

You don't need to flash PB1 bootloader. Did you try install Kroot manually as suggested? Please show me where it failed? Did you run root.bat and if not working install Kroot manually and run roo2.bat.

I can tell you that when I tried to run the root and root2 batch files, I got a message that said the files were missing, so I looked at the root.bat file, and I ran the individual tasks in the batch file manually., including the manual install of king root. When I ran king root, it said no methods were available.

There are no less than 3 threads dedicated to rooting this device on Marshmallow that are tested and working... did all of them not work for you?
Yeah bro there is such kind of problem on rooting stock marshmallow ROM but I used kingroot v 4.8.2 for rooting if your bootloader is unlocked.

Never use a one-click root method on a Moto unlocked device... Seen way to many bricked devices, always root manually.
It is easy to find, there is a thread in my signature.

If you have current SuperSU and TWRP, and use the echo command to create /data/.supersu it will work, if it isn't please go to thread in my signature and provide details including:
1) Device model and Android version
2) TWRP version
3) SuperSU version
4) Output of 'cat /data/.supersu' from TWRP terminal
And a copy of recovery.log if possible, without more specific information there is nothing that I can do to assist you.

no... flashing this KDZ, which was provided straight from the source, will bring your device to complete stock and lose root. I'm uploading a flashable zip of this release that should RETAIN root provided you have root and TWRP now.

Can I use LGUp...?
Good day,
First, let me say THANKS for an amazing effort! I've been successful in rooting by installing the H91810j image and performing the dirtycow exploit.
Now, I'm wondering if I can update to H91810k, and still preserve root access, by using LGUp to install the modified 10k image you posted...?
Let me know... Thanks!
Ok I got a V20 today and it came out if the box with 10K is it possible to root possibly through downgrading in lgup or am I going to have to not update and wait for a root for 10k I'm on T-Mobile variant

As far as I've been able to find out (since I was in the same boat), 10k has not been successfully 'rooted' as yet. You'll need to load H91810j and use the dirtycow exploits to enable root.
Once that's done, THEN you can install the modified version of H91810k mentioned earlier in this thread. Be sure it's the modded version, if you expect to keep root access.

I believe all you need to do is boot into fastboot thru ADB and type fastboot oem lock. I may be wrong on the typing part. But that's the general idea. Find out what command unlocks and just do the opposite and type lock instead.
