[Q] Charging issues - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My tablet is completely drained of its battery after I plugged it in for an hour or so and it didn't even trickle charge, now I can't turn it on.
My OEM cable was torn up, and had to be replaced with a 3rd party cable I bought from Amazon.
This cable worked fine for about a week, then today it stopped charging it completely.
I can't exactly identify if the problem is with the tablet or with the USB cable. The device doesn't even heat up even if it's plugged into the charger, every once in awhile the battery charging animation would go on screen, which means there is some juice to turn the device on, then it would go off presumably because it stopped charging.
TL;DR: I can't identify if the problem is with my 3rd party USB cable, or if it's the tablet's fault.
Thanks, guys.

[Q] Problem with charger

Hello,
I didn't use my tablet since 2 month and last week, i installed team EOS 4.2.2 JB rom.
After, my cable did'nt worked, When i tried to conect it to my computer, there was an error message that the tablet wasn't detect correctly.
And when i put the cable into the charger and the table to charge on the wall, i saw the icon on the right corner of the tablet charging but in the information battery, i sax that "Disconect" and the tablet % didn't grow up.... So i thought the cable was dead and i bouth one new on ebay.
With the new cable, no problem the tablet was detect and the charging with the charger was good. But after 2 days, i had new problems.
when i conect the tablet on my laptop, all is OK, the tablet is detect normally. But whn i try to charging with the charger on the wall, the tablet doesn't charge. I see the icon in the right corner is charging but in the battery informations, i see "disconect" again and the battery doesn't charge.
Yesterday, i saw a topic that i can put the charger on the freezer, i put it alle the night and i tried this morning but nothing the tablet does'nt charge.
On the charger, there is 2 parts, I open the little part with removing a screw and i tried to little move the 2 metal parts but nothing alwas the same problem.
So i think now the problem is not the new cable but the charger.... I know it's a specific voltage and if i try with my HTC ONE X charger, this will not work...
But maybe it's a problem with the tablet connect port?
I changed the rom and i installed the Cyanogen 4.2.2 this morning, and now when i conect the cable, with the computer, it's OK i see my tablet but the icon on the table isn't charging and i see "disconect in the battery information". And with the charger wall, it's the same, i have charge icon and i have disconect in the battery information
Do you think i must buy a new charger?
Sorry for my poor English my French
Try a trickle charge from the USB PC > Tablet
Plug the tablet cable into PC USB port and turn off the screen, then leave to trickle charge overnight
If you have the screen on it will not charge, so best to leave it off for a few hours to test if it is a charger problem

I Tried to connect PC USB > tablet with the screen turn off. It's not work
I tried to PC USB > tablet turn off and it's not work too...
the problem is the charger connextion on my tablet?

When you use PC USB to charge, it will not show charging on the screen, you have to leave it overnight for best test results
The freezer trick should only be used for about 20 minutes just to cool the charger down and reset the cutout
Try trickle charge overnight, if it works, its the charger
I think this is because tablet use a lot of power when in use and that is why the tablet is discharging when you use it. PC has even less powerful USB charger so the tablet will probably be recharging VERY slowly or even discharging when you use it.
You should leave tablet overnight to recharge and it is better to charge it in one piece than constantly plugging and unplugging it from PC.
Have a nice day,

You should be able to charge and use it at the same time with the actual charger plugged in, but you are correct, with the PC you can not use and charge unless you mod your USB ports for extra power
Ok i will try to conect the tablet (power off) all the night to my computer but i think it will not charge...
And if it's not work, it's not a problem with the cable because i can use the cable to transfer media PC> Tablet, so it's a problem on the tablet connector?
Hello,
My tablet was charging all the night. She was at 22% and now 38.... It's very slow!!! But now, i know that my tablet and my cable are OK and my charger is the problem.
There is a solution to repair my charger or i must buy an other?

Try this, separate charger and its pins, then take it along with the cable and put it in a zip pouch, now freeze for say 2 hrs. Take it out let it return to normal temperature and then try charging. Remember freeze them in a zip pouch (air tight)

[Q] Replaced battery, charger, AND charger port; PHONE STILL WONT CHARGE!

As title states, replaced everything yet phone refuses to charge or connect to a PC 99% of the time.
I have tried ...
Different outlets
Multiple working android chargers and USB cables
Multiple computers and usb ports
Different batteries
2 OEM batteries
Phone stopped charging one random night, plugged into charger, slept, woke up, phone died and never turned on.
I have been charging my battery through my friends old phone then swapping my battery into my own skyrocket, which turns on so I know the phone works.
For the 1% time that it does charge, I have no idea what happens, but I see that it charges and for ~5 minutes. At this point I don't move or touch the phone at all, I just let it lay there. And after ~5 minutes it stops charging again. (I know it starts/stops because of the tiny buzz it makes)
Anyone have any ideas? Also I am not running a stock rom, not sure if that matters but will try to flash a stock rom soon.

First you have to check carefully the battery, does it an original one? Because out there most of the battery for Skyrocket are fake, moreover, battery for our device is the same as Samsung Galaxy S2 HD for korea market. (On our battey, you'll se 4 pins: 3 for battery and 1 for NFC antenna. While the others just have 3 pins)
Flash stock rom using Odin and check again. If it can charge or not
Plug to a computer and check if it charge or not
If all above are failed, possibly the chip which manager charging in your phone is dead and have to replace.
Goodluck

Tablet won't charge

6 months ago i noticed my tab wasnt charging when the charger was plugged in, so i opened up the device and saw that a little wire of the battery was broken (maybe coincidentally). I bought a new battery but my tab still wont charge. It DOES charge (very slowly) when the device is turned off, but when it's on it doesn't charge neither will the PC recognize it as a USB device. If the charger is plugged in and the battery level is low, I'd unplug it and the low battery message would pop up. It's like the device recognizes I plugged in the charger but some way it's not able to charge. I'm using the original charger. What should I do?

[Q] MZ601 Not Charging

Hi,
I disassembled and repaired a Motorola Xoom I bought off a friend for cheap as it had a cracked screen. I have repaired it, and everything was great until I noticed it wasn't charging on the charger. Now, the difference is that it's not like the other not charging issues. The charger works fine, as evidenced by the "charging" on the lock screen. Also, AC is registered as connected in an app, but the battery is registered as "not charging". Logically, it's not a battery issue, as the battery still gives power when not on charge. Nor is it a connector issue due to the AC being recognised and the charge just sitting at its level when on charger. When in RSD mode it also states that OneWire is not connected? I wasn't sure on what that was. Is it something I've stuffed when I put it together?

Android phone Stops charging and Shuts down on charger removal.

I have redmi note 5 pro android phone which stops charging within 3 sec of connection(Charging not visible but LED light shows charging.). when i disconnect charger phone shuts down it self with shut down tone.
after that phone can not be switched on for around half an hour. When switched on phone works normally with existing battery % no sudden battery loss on restart.
Only problem is phone not getting charged and shuts down on charger removal.
tried otehr 3 charges of Mi and same problem exists.
Please help.
Does the phone charge when it's turned off? You have tried different chargers, but have you tried different cables?
Does the battery, or phone get hot when plugged in? That could suggest the charging circuit or battery is damaged and the over temperature sensor is stopping it from charging. It could also be a rogue app. If it charges when off, but not when booted, try it in safe mode.
Try charging overnight using a computer USB port.
If you plug the device into a PC, is it recognized? If not, again try with different cables and take a good look at the USB port. Search online for information to clean a USB port on a phone. It may just be really dirty.
You may have a damaged USB port and need to get it repaired.
