[ROM] - [4.3.1] - [October 29, 2013] - JellyBean DS v1.7 - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

JellyBeanDS - Android 4.3 (CM 10.2) for the myTouch 4G Slide
Notes:
Found a dead link? Let me know! (check my sig for a backup of all my files for the time being)
Please only use the included built in WildKernel (or else please don't report bugs if using an alternate kernel)
I'd recommend not using Focal until it's bugs are fixed, the native camera app is still there.
Newer Google Maps will have major graphical issues due to our legacy hardware, use this instead.
Bugs/Issues:
You tell me?

I will put it through its paces tonight! I'm going to be a bit nitpicky as I'm sure you know by now
---------- Post added at 08:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:11 PM ----------
oh and thanks for making the slim gapps, i appreciate it!

Just gave this a quick run. Microphone on the device is a no go. On using any app that utilizes the mic (tested phone calls, google now, and sound recorder), the mic does not pick up any sound and kills all sound effects from the phone (ringtones, notifications, all sound). I reboot the device to restore sound, however mic is still a no go. I apologize for not posting logs as I needed to roll my device back to 10.1 to use my device at work tomorrow. If noone else gets this bug and posts a log before this weekend, I'll reinstall and try to duplicate for a log capture.
Otherwise, pretty solid. Great work getting this rollin!

I've been using this as a DD all yesterday before release so mic not working (works for me) would be something I'd notice. Did you full wipe from any ROM you came from and did you flash any other kernel?

Full wipe was done (data, cache, dalvik, system) and the included kernel was used. I'll try to reflash again tonight and see if it dupes. Would a logcat or kmesg output pintpoint this error?

for now a logcat would be fine

Suhweet, I'll give it a shot tonight...thanks XMC

Here's a logcat for you XMC on the mic bug. I also have no mic on phone, now, etc.
Did a full wipe using latest TWRP if that helps Just rename file to .text as logcats for me always seem to be bigger than forum max size.
Weird too since everything else works so smooth. Even loved playing with Focal. I chose the full gapps as well.

also does any form of video recording work for anyone?

Update: Can someone tell me if the mic works on v1.1? Also say how the camera is, does the main camera work w/ recording, how about front facing? thanks

I only got to use it for a bit but here is what I noticed
It was heating up like crazy, 64 Celsius for CPU
2nd wasn't being disabled as needed, mp decision sort of issue
Camera was all like white washed out, like it was on high exposure settings.
General cm 10.2 thing, why keep camera and focal?
Haptic feedback on the keyboard has become a lot more subtle. I like it!

Did you try the regular camera app? Focal is really buggy for our phone

Mic seems to work fine now. Used Now and made a call successfully. Camera app works as does front facing as long as you don't open focal. It does not seem that video recording is working at this time. If focal freezes it becomes can't connect to camera even on instagram. Also the phone does feel like it's running hot

yeah same thing happened on regular camera app, it was either really washed out (the preview and the actual image) or really dark.
btw those things i listed were on version 1.0

What about the maps v7? Is there any flickering?

No rush man! Also noticed there's really no dictionary and every word just about needs to be entered. And the market shortcut doesn't update to the play store icon. But I know its a new port and some work needs done but hey I can wait!
Looks great

No I used the gapps provided by preludedrew. I'll flash the gapps in OP and see if thqt changes anything. Like I said, its no rush at this point, although the dictionary is one of if not mu biggest "gripe".
Just flashed. GAPPS in the post updates the market for me. Also says Virgin mobile. MMS works for me. Great job. I have been waiting for CM9, and am excited to give this a test drive.
Amazed at all of the ICS stuff as of late, really looking forward to when everything is as smooth as GB Keep up the good work guys!
Downloading now! I'm actually really excited to test this out.
I used aokp gapps. Market updated and mms is a go for me as well. Its not bad at all. Browser seems pretty quick. Minus the camera and 4g but its no biggie 4g is over rated anyway. Good job. Oh yeah and the dictionary is as first posted have to add almost every word. Would post a screenahot but it says wrong file exstention.

As most of you know HTC has recently announced that they're going back on their promise to upgrade the Desire HD to Ice Cream Sandwich. Max63094 set up a petition to let HTC know how we feel about this. Without official ICS we don't get new firmware blobs and things like the camera may never work properly beyond gingerbread. Please show your support and sign the petition here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29095924 If the site asks for a donation just ignore it - it isn't required

Yes, do do need to unlock the bootloader.
OK so I've been running RC7 for about 4 hours that I downloaded from IRC. Things I've noticed so far:
When using YouTube, I'm getting visual artifacts when changing orientation. It just happens during the orientation swap and then goes away. Also intermittent screen issues when starting you tube that I've seen twice now. Portions of the screen were repeating themselves.
Only one time, I was swiping through settings and when I hit the bottom of the list, there was a weird and quick visual artifact.
I'm not getting any sort of general screen flicker that I've experienced with other Roms, but I went ahead and shut off Hardware Overlay just for the hell of it. Which hasn't changed anything with YouTube artifacting during orientation changed.
During phone call, I could not adjust call volume. Call volume was not loud or low, but just right despite the fact i could not adjust it. Speakerphone worked OK and I was able to lower volume during sleakerphone it seems.
GPS locked on pretty quickly.
4G and WiFi work great.
Camera and Video work. No problems with low Audio on Video record.
I'm really quite happy with it and see no reason not to use this as my Daily Driver.
I don't care about Bluetooth or NFC so can't speak to those.
Battery drain seems to be quite normal.
Hey, I've been using Synergy for the whole time I've had my S3. Can anybody compare RC5 or 7's battery life to that of Synergy's? I'm guessing it will be somewhat lower
yeah! been looking for a new jellybean rom to try out........TW is nice n whatnot, but aosp is just as nice in its own respects......gonna toss this bad boy on later and test it out, seeing as i'm going to work tomorrow ill be able to test out the NFC at mcdonalds and see how its working

Howdy folks!
I have ported AOKP to the Photon Q. There are a lot of features which have been lifted from AOKP and placed into Carbon, so I thought why not build AOKP... Please visit their official website for additional screenshots, information, etc.

I am building from source, again this is using the razrqcom-dev-team trees as a base. Big thanks goes out to those folks, they have been extremely helpful.
Time to be lazy and copy from my other thread... CM10.1 issues will probably be present in here, etc.
Enjoy!

BUGS
Intermittent USB issues (charging, adb, etc) - seems to be caused by charging via AC. Rebooting it resolves it in the short term, working on a permanent fix.
Some (not all) seem to experience issues with GPS. If you have issues with GPS, please RSD the JB image and then flash AOKP. GPS should work now. (I've also heard you can just restore a stock backup, get a lock, then flash AOKP again...)
Haptic feedback on soft keyboard is not provided when enabled (which it is by default)
While capturing a picture to send via MMS, ensure HDR is deselected - Gallery will cause a force close if HDR is enabled!! (Note - HDR works for normal still photos, just not MMS.)
Update Google Search (manual update), or else any voice searches will fail with FC. Update the app, and it is resolved.
Caps lock LED doesn't seem to work properly...

Alrighty folks, I am uploading the initial build now. I know NFC is broken, I had to disable it.
Geez, someone's busy!
Thanks for all the hard work. Having come from a phone where development is slow at the best of times, it's nice to see and have options.
Now we can be proud using Photon Q. It's not a small community anymore.
Thanks a lot!
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
Wow, way to go!!
I was noticing a lot of other ROM's were lifting features from AOKP... like Carbon .
So I figured why not have AOKP?
Still a bit of cleanup to be done - I discovered the keyboard is always on when the screen is on? Regardless of it being slid out or not. Probably need to add some of the same patches which needed to go to Carbon.
Also as I mentioned NFC. Should be easy to enable tho. Let me know what else you find folks!
Thanks for this. Does anyone know if this includes the pop up text messages like on miui?

If you mean popup of message in a toast notification then I do not know. If you mean quick message popup like this then it is a feature added in CM10 which can be enabled (in CM10/10.1) under messaging settings - Quick reply
Maybe a blinking message icon at status bar. It's an extra feature on AOKP and Liquid Smooth ROM.

I was actually looking for the pop up they mention in the article but the notification reply option is maybe even better . Based on the change log it looks like charging from ac is still an issue, any idea on when this might be worked out?

Charging from AC is not an issue at all. It charges perfectly fine from AC.
I love this rom! I just wish I could set lockscreen background.
A few questions though; What does the 'dual panel' option do?
What is menu UI overflow?
What is daydreaming?
I hope to see updates soon, especially to fix the camera/camcorder. It's a deal breaker for me right now, since my first son was just born and I'll be heavily using my camera.
@lovehatelegend. For the verify popup. Go to settings then security and there u can uncheck the popup asking u everytime
