CallFlash! Flash alert on Calls, SMS & Instant Messaging apps!
CallFlash controls the flash for calls and other notifications. This way you can be notified by your flash for every notification. It is an opensource project, aiming to keep things simple and functional.
If you want any third party app to be added in the list just email me at [email protected].
IF THE FLASH DOESN'T TURN ON CHANGE THE FLASH DRIVER FROM PREFERENCES->MODULE DRIVER. THERE ARE THREE AVAILABLE.
Prefer Standard over Alternative and Alternative over Alternative 2. If the flash doesn't turn on with either of these drivers send me an email at [email protected].
Before rating bad please try all three flash drivers from settings. Samsung devices tend to work with the Alternative driver only. Thanks
*********************
If your phone starts talking after enabling the "Notification Service" this is a Samsung-Talkback issue:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23105
Unfortunately there isn't much I can do for that. There are many solutions out there. Choose what works for you.
*********************
Problem with Handcent?
Go to Handcent → Settings → Application Settings → Default Messaging application → Disable.
You may also disable "Play animation" in the "Send" settings. (Thanks Todd)

Permissions
This app uses the following permissions:
- android.permission.CAMERA : Needed to control the flashlight in some devices.
- android.permission.FLASHLIGHT : Needed to control the flashlight in most devices.

Creative idea, works well on Nexus 4, stock 4.3.
I'm assuming the "Flash duration" you have for SMS notifications is the the max amount of time the flash will blink for a new message. This isn't reflected during the "Test".
Also, don't know if it's your setting or an Android default but I like how the sliders change the values in increments of 10 and not 1.
Lastly, I am kinda concerned about making my flash blink. Any chance of damaging it?
Looking forward to new versions

Not working on LG optimus 3d p920 please make It work..thanks
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app

Works great on Galaxy S3. 4.2.2 Illusion 2.1 ROM.

Works Great on my Verizon S3 running Rootbox 4.2
I was thinking maybe you could make it so you could choose how many times it would flash. such as just making it flash twice or 3 times.
Just a thought.
Nice Job.
Peace

Works well on my sprint note 2 running slim bean.

Fantastic on my Sprint s3 (work) running The Peoples Rom.

True, test doesn't stop unless you stop it.

Damaging flash is an issue indeed, but only when you lower the on time very much. I might add a lowest value constrain in order to be sure. Although I've never heard anyone bricking his flash.

I think I know what is the problem. Galaxy Nexus devices have the same issue too. Can you tell me if something works? Call test, Message Test, Call receive etc??

Hi, like it sofar!
any chance of adding the possibilty to link it with the volume of the phone (like when the volume is set on "silent", the Caller Flashlight will take over)?

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10 (Updated: Mar 16th)

CyanogenMod 10 (based on Android 4.1.2 "Jelly Bean") for HTC Liberty ("Aria/Gratia")
NOTE: Just to make this clear, this is UNOFFICIAL, and NOT supported by CyanogenMod.
Screenshots: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1077120/Android/cm10shots/index.html
Hboot 1.02 or higher is required!
Bugs & stuff that doesn't work:
- Backlight for navigation buttons won't turn on sometimes (it seems to work fine on auto brightness though)
- Built-in voice recognition doesn't work (see Tips & Tricks for workaround)
- Emergency calling is untested
- Headset/headphones already plugged in will not be detected on boot
- HTML5 videos (like m.youtube.com in the browser) don't work
- Lockscreen can sometimes glitch out on boot
- Netflix doesn't work (maybe some others too)
- Panorama "works", but is VERY slow & glitches making it pretty much unusable
- Timelapse recording doesn't work
- USB tethering doesn't work
Tips & Tricks:
- Trackball wake: Open Terminal Emulator and run "trackballwake", then reboot. Do the same to disable
- Voice Search on Google Now (kind of):
1. Install Voice Search from the Play Store
2. Install this app (now requires $0.99): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770100
3. Long-press search key (or open app drawer), and pick Voice Search Assistant with the blue microphone icon
4. App will capture voice using the old Voice Search, then send it to Google Now
5. Press search button on keyboard
- FM radio: use Spirit FM and allow root requests
Thanks: gladiac & Droste for helping with CM10, and everyone who helped with CM9 (gladiac, Droste, munjeni, s0be)
CyanogenMod for supporting so many old devices, and keeping Android open

The CM update script is supposed to restore Google Apps, but sometimes doesn't successfully (probably due to space limits). If you are updating, format /system then reinstall both the ROM package and gapps package
A full Google Apps package won't fit on the system partition, so I've taken out a few things (face unlock & GoogleTTS which we can't use, etc)
This may be the last complete version of Android this phone gets unless Google cuts down on the size a lot in the next version (unlikely, since they don't support old devices with small storage)

If space is not enought for next Google plan, we can set system partition to maximum space using revolutionary_cus and we can use data partition from sd card (optimising initrd) ?

I'm thinking the same thing. Any reason we can't use your h-boot utility to increase the system partition to 250MB?
I'm glad to see development is going for this phone still. It was my first smartphone, and I loved it. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, since I upgraded to the HTC One X. But I sold it to my friend (still rooted and on CM9) so maybe he'll have some use for this
Your ROM is great, but one bug I noticed made me return to my nandroid backup: Link2SD doesn't work. If I try to move an app to the SD card, it says "App successfully moved", but if I try to start it, it force closes. Do you have a solution for this problem? If this works, I would use your ROM probably as a daily driver...
This rom is pretty nice, thanks! However I need wi-fi tethering...
Thanks for your hard work, looks great...
hey winsuk does the sound pop bug still go nuts ?
i noticed when i go to sound , disable lock screen sound , and key press sounds , the speaker turns off
when i turn them on , i hear a mild hiss , and that is what is in place of those sounds
haven't tried this rom yet tho

I'm trying to keep this as close as possible to an official CM, so I haven't added anything for trackball wake.
If you want it, you can edit /system/usr/idc/curcial-oj.idc and change device.internal to 0 (and make sure it keeps read permissions, or you'll get a mouse on the trackball)
Edit: And forgot to add, reboot
Planned to add this to the first post, just needed to test it first
And S2E is hidden in the Play Store to anything higher then ICS. If you can get an apk (say from /data/app on ICS), it works fine
also..... recovery is no longer loading... htc screen
revolutionary
nvm low battery did it somehow
and if anyone gets a version of s2e to work please post a link here to the .apk
latest version installs but says is not supported when opened
Guys, if you have faster sd card you can use CronMod INT2EXT4+
it mount /sd-ext partition as /data partition while remaining dalvik cache on internal stroage.
If anyone wants the Galaxy Nexus jellybean boot animation, here is it.
Resized to 320x480, Credit by me.
EDIT:This is not flashable zip, please copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ and set permission to 644
OK, I will try S2E again. You're right, Link2Sd hasn't been updated for JB so far, so we will probably have to wait for this. I'll let you know if S2E is working for me.

FAQ
Q: Why is the image result is blurred and out of focus ?
A: Try to enable autofocus in setting. And try to not move the phone when taking picture for better result
Q: Can I open other app while taking pictures or recording video? Or turn off my screen?
A: Yes, you just need to press the action button (auto / video) then minimize. You can restore the UI back by clicking the notification. Other way is setup the volume button action, then you can minimize first and trigger the image capture or video recording with volume button.
Q: Run SCOS but no button shown only floating image preview
A: I'm guessing you are using Xiaomi phones or MIUI ROM, you need to enable floating windows option at Android setting - Application Manager - SCOS - checked option about floating window
Q: Using high-res image or video recording causing shutter sound, what can I do?
A: While SCOS try it best to disable the shutter sound still some phone model forcing the shutter sound and SCOS still depends on the API provided by the ROM/OS. If your phone rooted you can remove the shutter sound file located at /system/media/audio/ui, find audio file contain 'shutter'
Q: My video seems corrupt, SCOS was crashed when recording/the phone shutdown because battery empty. What can I do?
A: Sorry to hear that. Some user reported that they can recover part of the video with recovery video tool, so the best bet is you try install recovery video tool for your PC/Mac. I'm adding shutdown handling on V0.4.1 to prevent video corrupt on empty battery.
Q: I've bought SCOS donate app, do I need to buy SCOS2 donate key?
A: No, just email me about it. I'll send you SCOS1 donate key.
Q: It's been a while since last update, do you still maintain it?
A: Yes, although SCOS is not my main job. Join the beta tester to get updated with latest 'quite stable' feature. I'll try to publish it to beta every time I add new feature.
Q: Can I contribute new language or update language (new string / wrong translation)?
A: Sure, all SCOS translation is from contributor. I will appreciate it a lot and it will help non-english speaker use SCOS.
Q: I have great ideas for SCOS
A: Cool, share it here or email it to me through setting - send feedback.
Q: I found bug, crash or some feature not working
A: Sorry to hear that, share it here or email it to me through setting - send feedback.

Thank you for the feedback.
Since the application will always portrait, even if your current phone state is landscape it will still portrait.
Do you mean that the app should support landscape mode?

You're right, my bad. I forgot about the tablets..
Will include this on the next version. (Noted on https://bitbucket.org/jimmod/spycamera/issue/13/application-orientation-should-depends-on)
Great app, I do have a feature request
Hide the notification bar when you click "black"
Press screen to take photo while on "black" instead of showing the screen again
also a bug report
if I click back when I am on black, the app just stops responding
I have a galaxy S i900 with ICS 4.1.2
Great!
Works in Galaxy Ace (S5830)
Just some requests.
If I zoom in too much, the zoom out button will dissapear and I won't be able to to zoom out again unless I delete the app and install again, it could also be moveable as a widget
Sounds like an amazing app I shall download at once

For click back on my phones (Galaxy Note & W) is not crashing it, just exit the app. Will change it to close the black screen rather closing the app.
I also notice that on black screen if we doing fake calls (put the phone on our ears) it will close the black screen.
Planned to also change this.

Do you mean the plus(+) button for increasing the preview size.
Noted. Will prevent it to exceed the screen width on next version.
For moveable preview I will need to think from UX perspective.

ROTATION MANAGER PREMIUM EDITION
Rotation Manager 3rd Generation is here!
WORKS WITH LOLLIPOP (5.x)

ABOUT
Rotation manager is a tool that lets you choose which application you want to rotate or which one you don't want to rotate. It is a really simple app designed for the least possible power and RAM consumption.
FEATURES
- Force the orientation of each app to your liking.
- Rotate your device freely, without worrying if your apps will change orientation.
- Orientation lock
- Forced Auto option
- Forced inverse portrait/landscape
- App-specific orientation
- Option for permanent notification, called "Permanent Notification mode"
*Premium Version:
- Per App inverse
- Automatic Brightness adjustment
- Automatic Screen timeout
- Automatic Media volume level
HOW TO USE
The floating button is the global orientation for all the apps. It is a 7-state button and gives you all the orientation possibilities. <b>Long click to enter inverse modes.</b> Then you can select from the list for every app your desired orientation. Your selection will override the default global orientation. If you want only two apps to rotate and all the others to stay at their default, just disable global orientation and then select both Portrait and Landscape for the specific app in the list. After you have selected your desired apps, just click on play and your settings will be in effect.
If you want to enable extra features, just click on the 3 dots next to the app's icon and select which features you want to override in each app.
Βy enabling "Permanent Notification mode" from "Preferences" an invisible permanent notification starts which ensures that the service will not be killed by the OS. Enable it if you have low RAM problems and the orientation service stops.

You have the option to enable it, so the app runs on boot each time.
Any help is appreciated!!
Nice start. I think the interface layout is a bit confusing, but it works.
Feature request: Per app ability to force different rotation locks, e.g. one app force portrait, another force landscape. Obviously this would necessitate a UI rethink.

Thanks for the feedback. The only way of doing this without root permissions is with a permanent notification. We may add that option for those who have such problems.

Yes you can force your orientation preference on any app. For example i set fruit ninja to be only portrait at it worked nice. (Although it sucks that way )

Hi,
thank you for this amazing app!
I don't understand why this feature is not builtin in Android!
I did a quick review about your app here:

WooW man! Thank you very much. I'll make a reference to your review at the first post.
The review is great! I only have one comment. You say "If Auto-Rotate is On the configuration for each app will be ignored. You can clear all the configuration for each app by tapping on Clear All." Well that is not true. The Auto-Rotate button is System's configuration. It is just a shortcut to that setting. The button that starts our application is the "play" button at the top.
We are still working on the app in order to make it more user friendly, but we are on an exam period right now. So stay tuned...
Thanks again,

IO Notes will always be a lean, minimalist, and extremely configurable note-taking app, and only for security and privacy minded people.
Notes created using IO Notes are secured using industry standard AES encryption, and stored inside a database file which is encrypted using the same standard.
Access to IO Notes is always password protected. Note that forgetting your password simply means losing access to your notes. There's no way to recover your password. Consider yourself warned!
Whether your notes contain sensitive information or not, it doesn't mean you should allow others to have their eyes on your notes easily.
Features:
- Encrypted notes
- Encrypted database
- Password protected access to app (optional is never an option for this)
- Free (as in beer)
- Ad-free (forever)
- Dark and Light theme
- Zen Mode for distraction-free note-taking session
- Alarm (sound, vibration, LED with color choice)
- Minimum password length configuration
- Backup and restore
- Font type configuration
- Font size configuration
- Color (assign color to note)
- Filter (base on colors and tags)
- Share (send and receive text data between installed app)
- Tags
- Export/Import
Planned features:
- Attachment (any file type)
- Cloud sync (In-App Purchase)
- Landscape layout
- Tablet layout
- Soothing audio in Zen Mode
Encrypted content (within encrypted database):
- Note's title
- Note's content
Plain text content (within encrypted database):
- IDs
- Date time information
- Alarm's message
- Color code
- Tag
Warning:
Alarm's message also duplicated on your device in plain text format, unencrypted. This is necessary to make sure alarms are set properly across device reboot. Exercise caution to not leak note's content in alarm's message.
Translation:
- German (Christian Orjeda)
- Spanish (Christian Orjeda, Paco Inurreta)
- Indonesian
Permission explanation:
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To set alarms across device reboot.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To list available backup file.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To create backup file.
VIBRATE: To vibrate the device when an alarm sets off.
If you'd like to see a planned feature prioritized, or a feature not on the list, I encourage you to request it via Feedback menu from IO Notes app.
IO Notes only supports devices running Android v4.0+. It is tested on:
- LG Nexus 5 (Stock, Android v5.0)
- Samsung Galaxy Note II (N7100, Stock/OmniROM, Android v4.4.2)
- Samsung Galaxy S (I9000, CyanogenMod, Android v4.4.2)
- Asus Nexus 7 (2013 WiFi, AOSP, Android L Preview)
"O monstrous world! Take note, take note, o world, to be direct and honest is not safe!" - William Shakespeare
Warning: Start IO Notes after upgrade to have your alarms set. Android removes all alarms upon application upgrade.

Thank you. Will knock the backlog off one by one during weekends.
Great idea! Do you consider to release the source code? Are you planning to add features to encrypt pictures too?

Well, the idea is to be able to encrypt all kind of data given to it, be it pictures, videos, or any other files. I plan to work on it after all items under `Next features` are off the list. But then again, if many people requested specific feature via Feedback menu, I'll prioritize it.
In the near future, the source will not be released to public. But there's always a possibility for that in the future, depending on various circumstances.

Just to give some feedback. It works great one the HTC One. (4.4.2).
I'm probably picky but maybe go with a sans serif font.

Ah, nice to know you have the same idea, too. This idea sprung up over a year ago, but the execution just started since last January as weekend project. Would love to see yours out there, too. Anyhow, thank you for reporting.
I going to try it now on my Note 3 on 4.4.2.
Thanks
works here (motorola razr i, jb4.1). very nice and lean app, with reminder would be perfect.
works perfectly on my note 3. I like the zen mode feature. I guess once the planned features added, this app can go to play store and ready to hit the trending lists, it's still too simple for now.

There's actually a bug for Zen Mode which I've realized after releasing it. I'll have it fixed along when I release the next version for alarm (reminder) feature. Anyhow, it's actually on Play Store already. It's not on the post because I couldn't put link to external content yet. It would be better if you could install it from Play Store. Thank you for the feedback.
provide play store link
i liked your concept and want to try your app but i am unable to find the app from play store can any body provide the link

Looks awesome, trying it out now. I don't like the one included in TouchWiz, looking to use this to replace it.

Works great, Disabled stock from touchwiz
So I used ROM Toolbox Pro to freeze the PageBuddyNotiSvc.apk to disable the stock recommended apps tray from TouchWiz, it would never update that app list since I don't use TouchWiz as my launcher.
Another great addition to my heavily modded T-Mobile Note 3 on Stock rooted rom with a bunch of xposed mods enabled.
I will be trying this on my G PRO. Thanks.
Would be awesome if this could support icon packs, or at least set icons manually. Also, it doesn't align vertically for my in the notification. I'm using PA with Nue theme.
I love this app but there are two things I would really like to see.
1. Invisible status bar icon
2. Customize which bluetooth devices are blacklisted (shows with headphones but not in car)

This is already fixed in b2, will upload it in a few days.
Installed on Xperia arc s, ics, but when I click on any app to select, the app force closes, and again opening shows that the app is selected now. So every selection need reopen of this app.
Still I was thinking its manageable, but when I connected headset, nothing coming as widget or notification

Could you please provide logcat? If not, please wait for next version which will include code for sending debugging information to me so I can fix the problem.
b2 posted
* Graphic glitch in notification fixed
* Error reporting (see first post).
Unfortunately I had to sign the apk using a different key so you might have to reinstall instead of upgrading. Sorry about that.
b3 posted
* Invisible notification bar icon (setting)
* Blacklist for BT headsets
:victory: Thanks for that last update it was perfect.
2 more little things that I think would really help pre-play store.
1. Auto adjust the spacing so the apps are still spaced evenly and the whole way across even if the user selects less than 6 apps.
2. The bluetooth blacklist is a bit clunky especially with still having the don't show bluetooth in the settings menu. Maybe 1. have the bluetooth blacklist menu just have check boxes next to known devices instead of having to type them in and 2. just have a blacklist all bluetooth devices option in the bluetooth menu instead of having the option in the settings panel.
Works great on my Nexus 5, many thanks.
This may sound a bit anal but in addition to the invisible status bar icon option his about the option for "visible icon until selection made" and then the notification goes away?
What do you think?
