So far so good. No sudden crashes and all. I think a "dark theme" would be nice as well.

Off to a great start!!!
The idea is superb!
So far the app looks simple enough, haven't had any problems/bugs, so far.
What I really like, is that the app actually shows the ambient humidity, haven't seen that in any other apps so far!!
Are there any settings to be found? Am I just blind or there really isn't none?
Would be nice to choose what to show on graphs and what values to show at all.
Also: I'm seeing three temperatures, one in Celsius, on in Farenheit and another one in Celsius. The bigger (font) Celsius (on the left) seems to correspond to my room temperature, but the other one is ~8-9 degrees lower and doesn't seem to fixed with the room temperature. What is the other Celsius supposed to show? It's too low for battery and I don't have any other ideas.
A dark theme is definitely on the top end of my list, as I'm in love with the gorgeous amoled of our S4's!
What I'd like at some point is a way to send data to tasker, especially if you plan to get all the sensors working, then a plugin with tasker would make the userbase of the app even bigger, as tasker doesn't show anything special from S4 yet (I saw from tasker's homepage that the temperature variable is coming in an update, but that's all for now), no barometer, hygrometer and so on info.
A widget would be nice too, but I would like the tasker plugin more, as I like to create my widgets with UCCW.
Anyways, you're off to a great start! I'm going to be checking in on this thread regularly!
Thanks for your great idea and app,

splash screen implemented for my sponsers

installed app is perfect for me, i travel a lot and i dont trust weather sites or channels played with it a lot, havent seen any issues. Got a question though, is it possible to get wind reading or need a special tool for it? tnx
P.S. Wind direction, elevation with medium font for easy to see, i used your app to get quick measurements to shoot ))))))))))))
Wind measurement is not possible using build in sensors of s4. i hope it will be available soon.
Implementation is possible, but it needs gps and readings taken from 3rd party site. anyhow i will check it out when i am free.

Centigrade value for due point
Freeze button to stop changing readings for few seconds (in future, i plan to use this button add the freeze values into database and you can export it to excel or something...)
you can expect next update on monday.
for due point do you mean dew point?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Works great, thanks.
But I didn't find how to change the main temperature to °C (to choose between °F and °C would be better).
And a 3 digit precision in temperature decimals is illusory : even professional thermometers have a 1-digit precision only.

Hm, any info about battery drain? I think that app use media services and drain is huge. After uninstall app media services stop working in deep sleep. With battery stats i see sensors-media services. Strange

i used only Sensor.TYPE_AMBIENT_TEMPERATURE in previous versions. so its not related to media services.
so far there is only two problems i think,
1 problem may be related to multiple running of instances. i will implement a previous instance check when launching app and auto kill or popup previous instance instead of starting another instance .
2 problem may related to the scheduled timer. i will try some other battery efficient way.
use exit button to completely close the application instead of android sleep.
if any other users feel battery drain, pls let me know.
inmeanwhile i uploaded next version with AirView support & C & F switching

Airview support removed again due to lack of api and crashes occurs in some phones. however still working on this feature somehow and plan to include in future version with better features on hover.
I finished the adaptive advertisement testing and now i removed the advertisements as promised.
new updates

* airview removed temporarily
* minor optimizations
* fixed alignment problems for some phones.

Nice app! I would like to see an option that shows only Celsius or Fahrenheit in the graph. Furthermore, a dark theme would be really appreciated (I guess I'm not the only one who likes to have that). And the last thing: make the exit pop-up dialog (and maybe button too) more holo-ish. You've done a very good job with this app.

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the "auto-brightness" so that it is a notch or two brighter than it is now? Currently, unless it's very bright where I am, the brightness stays at the lowest level.... I would like to use the auto-brightness, but it's just "calibrated" too dimly for my tastes... Surely there is some file that we can edit to change the brightness levels, etc...
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
In case anyone else is interested, I found a solution to my auto-brightness issues... The solution is a $0.99 app called "Lux (Beta)". While it is still in beta, it works great - I can adjust exactly how bright the screen should be relative to the lux value from teh light sensor (plus much more!). As of right now, I'd highly recommend this app! It will even use the camera to determine the light level if the lux value isn't returned properly from the light sensor!

Hey jtrosky, I'm the developer of Lux. I'm glad you're liking the app! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask!

hi
great site
I have never used auto brightness on any device. I always adjust it manually. I have found the auto brightness annoying and it drains my battery. I usually just set it as low as I can stand it. This lux thing found intriguing to me though. Thanks for the heads up on that. If auto brightness had a native way to set it for certain environments it may be useful, but the constant changing of brightness will drain the battery imo.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
thanks for the tip on Lux...it seems like a great little ap!
I find that the auto-brightness is also too low for my taste in low light environments. Might give a try to the lux app. thanks for the info
Something that would be nice is also to be able to dim the screen based on battery level, like for example being able to set the different levels in cpu tuner would be great to try to save battery automatically
I thought light sensor was not working on my TF. Thanks, Will take a shot at using Lux.
Just a quick follow-up... Still using Lux and it's been working perfectly... I love it. I wasted a few dollars on a few other supposed "auto-brightness" apps before I tried Lux (I was initially put off by the beta status of Lux), but none of the other apps worked properly or did what I wanted, so I tried Lux - Lux is by far the best out there now - check it out for $.99...
I'm still not quite sure I understand all of the options, etc though.... Even the four icons on the main interface - can the author please describe what each one does?
Thanks!

No problem!
(I'll bold the app name Lux so you don't get confused with the unit of illuminance, lux. )
The first button merely re-acquires the lux reading, if for whatever reason you want a new value. This is handy if you want to use Lux as a light meter, or if for some reason your light sensor decides to return incorrect data.
The second button is the 'link' button. Basically, pressing this button links the display backlight value (as determined by the brightness slider) to the current lux/luma reading. This link tells Lux that you want to set the backlight to that brightness when the lux is that value. So whenever Lux adjusts the brightness too dim or too bright, you just adjust the slider then 'link' it to the current lux value, and Lux then learns to use that brightness. Also note that Lux will interpolate these linked values (aka 'linked samples') so you don't have to do much linking at all.
The third button is astronomer mode. This saturates the display in a red colour, to make the otherwise harsh white light of the display easier to look at in low light. Astronomers are known to cover their phones in red cellophane to achieve this, and thus stop their eyes from adjusting from the dark environment to a bright phone.
The last button is where all the settings lie. Each setting has a description which should explain its function. To save me writing out pages of explanation, just let me know if you need help with a particular setting.
Hopefully that all makes sense.
Oh, and also, you may find the apps FAQ helpful. It's based on an older UI though.
Perfect! Thanks for the descriptions (I NEVER would have figured out that the hell the third button was suppsed to do!!).
I'm still playing around with all of the options... One possible enhancement - maybe allow the user to specify special brightness values for when the battery level is below certain thresholds.... This would help to automatically conserve battery life when the battery starts getting low....
Thanks again - it's been working great!

I've been meaning to add something like that. Will look into it.
Oh no - I've run into a pretty major issue with Lux - it seems that after I install and add the Lux widget, I can then no longer install any apps! When the app installer runs, the "Install" button is simply not selectable! As soon as I uninstall Lux, I can then install apps again. Just installing Lux doesn't break the app installer - the app installer doesn't break until the widget is added to the home screen. At that point, I have to un-install Lux to install any further apps....
Any ideas???
Thanks!
EDIT - I'm able to install apps from the Market, but not from .apk files (yes, I have 'Other sources' turned on).... Strange.... Hopefully, the dev can re-produce and fix this.

Hiya,
This app sounds useful! One issue I had was that in a no-light situation, I find the screen far too bright. Astronomer mode sounds like the fix implemented in Lux to deal with that; I don't suppose the screen brightness can be further reduced in an attempt to preserve more battery life in these situations?
I have an app which adds a semi-transparent layer on top of the image, making it darker, but it would not conserve battery life as its just beaming out darker coloured pixels, rather than reducing the brightness of them.

Actully, Lux allows you to lower the brightness to below the normal "lowest" setting as well, so it should do exactly what you want.... Well worth the $1 it costs!

Odd, I'll look into it. It's probably related to the issue some users are having with gmail. Unfortunately it's one of those issues that only a few people seem to have, so it's hard to reproduce.

You can see the linked samples by backing up the profiles to your SD card and then opening the file in a text editor. A sample editor is on my todo list, but really, you don't need one - Lux handles that for you.

Magic Fluids is a beautiful fluid simulation that you initiate and drive with your touch.
It enables creativity and allows to relax and enjoy smooth fluid motion.
Key features:
- Highly configurable fluid behaviour and look
- 10 configuration presets - if you're lazy
- You can save your own presets
- Multitouch controls
- Smoke and water animation
- Thousands of particles moving with the fluid
- You can pause the animation anytime and save screenshots
- You can use Magic Fluids as a regular app or as a Live Wallpaper
- Highly optimized, multiple quality settings for wide range of devices
Fluids of multiple colors mix and create beautiful patterns. Particles are a great addition to visuals.
It features two animation modes: smoke (classic) and water. The second one is not really a water - it's a little fake (as everything in computer graphics anyway), but behaves really differently than smoke - pressure and movement propagate through in a real liquid-like manner.
It has lots of configuration options and a great thing is, you can edit options and see changes instantly, because settings window AND fluid simulation are visible and active at the same time.
You can set fluid amount, fade speed, color palettes (or random colors) and a few more. The same for particles.
It also has mutiple fluid presets that present configuration diversity, if you don't want to manipulate settings manually.
There is a possibility to save your own presets, too.
I spend quite a lot of time on optimization. Add multiple quality options and you have an app that should work great on a wide range of devices.
I've added QR code to make it easier for you to find my app.
If you have any questions or comments, I'll be happy to answer.

How many cores can this app make use of?
I have a Galaxy Note 2 and I wasn't able to put the quality as high as I'd anticipated. I know the 4412 isn't the most powerful chip available anymore, same goes for the GPU, but I thought I could do better than, "The Jury's Still Out" with no paint, full line particles at minimum lifetime and size.

App uses as many cores as you have. The highest settings however, are not supposed to work well with any of the devices currently available. They were rather thought to serve as the "Holy Grail" of performance. But you're already the second person disappointed that can't use highest settings on their high-end devices, so I might remove one or two of them.
This sometimes crashes my Galaxy Y making me remove the battery, then it corrupts the partition.

Hey,
thanks a lot for your report. What do you mean by corrupting the partition? I hope you didn't lose any data!
I had some issues on my Galaxy Y some time ago during development, but I was pretty sure they were gone.
You're not doing anything wrong. The general problem is immense segmentation of Android devices along with multiple system versions, both stock and custom. It's basically impossible to make it work on every combination device + system under the sun.
But - enough moaning. What system version are you using? Does it happen only in wallpaper mode? If so, does it happen in any specific situations, like changing orientation? Would you be willing to install debug version of the app I would send to you and make some effort to crash it again and send me the results back? (it would probably mean extracing some file from sdcard and sending it to me - I'm not sure yet, since I don't have such version yet )

Im using the 2.3.5 default firmware.
It corrupts the partition because I remove the battery with the system on, but nothing important.
I think this is caused by the heat, it always happens when the device is hot.
Also, one thing I noted:
-Red screen (It turns back to normal after a few moments, probably because of some OpenGL problem).
Also, if you want, you can send me the debug app.

If it happens to you with other apps as well, then it's probably possible. App squeezes as much as it can from the device. I might add some optional FPS limit, but on not very strong device like Galaxy Y you probably don't have much FPS anyway, unless you're using first or second quality setting.
I'll think about this for a moment and I might contact you. Thanks a lot for your help!
One more important question you missed from my previous post.
Does it happen in wallpaper mode only?

Happens in both modes.
As i said, it seems to be a heat issue. Since it works for some minutes, then stops the cellphone, thus making me remove he battery and corrupting the system.
Also, thanks for the quick awnsers! A+ dev and support!
EDIT:After some more testing, it seems to be the wallpaper mode.

Sorry for taking so much time to get back to you. Guess I might lose that good grade.
However, I might have some good news. Magic Fluids is updated to version 1.1 and one of the features is framerate limit option, which might (or might not) help for overheating issue.
Full list of changes:
- Added automatic drawing sources - it's great for Live Wallpaper!
- Added two new presets that show automatic drawing in action
- Added framerate limit option for battery saving
- Fixed bug with saved images showing in Gallery with delay
- Removed highest quality setting, since no one was able to use it anyway

Hi. That's great! Entire wallpaper module was rewritten, so that's probably it.
Before the update however I had to exclude some devices in Developers Console - Galaxy Y, Ace, Pocket, Mini, because a few people reported really serious problems with them, like device going into bootloop. The update probably fixes this, but I haven't had the courage yet to enable those devices again.
Did you installed the update through Google Play? I was curious whether excluding a device from supported devices after someone downloaded it, will allow him to install further updates.

Why is the ad-free version only available via Samsung-apps and not via the Google Play Store?

Google does not allow developer from my country sell app. I don't know why Google do this, Because i can sell app on Amazon, Samsung, AppStore. You can see list here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/150324.
So i must always publish free app on Play Store.
Looking very nice.
How much time does it take to meassure the temp ?

Nearly immediately after you open the app. But it will produce accurate result when you leave you phone about 10 minutes.
Because the heat from your body and phone.
Update:
- v1.07: Fix Pressure/Altimeter calibrate. Use less power with widget.
Will be available next 2 hours on Play store
Like the app. An option to update the widget on touch would be great, along with the regular interval options.

lastest version works perfectly. thanks!
I can't understand why you get so little feedback for your app!? It works like a charm on my Nexus 5 and it has a great design. Thanks!
Looks interesting!
Works like a charm
I used the apk provided (version 1.6). All tools provided work well on my N4 :good: . Non rooted and running vanilla android. Particularly I love the compass. So simple and functional. No issues with the color picker too. Those having issues with the color picker can try using the apk provided in one of the previous threads in this conv. Also, try restarting your device once. Restarts work like a charm in resolving most issues.
This app help fix SIII Gyroscope accuracy or just let me see the sensors? Please can you add calibrate or i need to send my SIII to repair?
Hi,
Just bought the Pro version as I am impressed with your work
Do you plan to add multi-core infos (activities, frequencies,...) ?
Is there a way to record all the infos ? Live or in background ?
It can be interresting to record infos (bearing, GPS, Gyroscope) in, for exemple, CVS format.
A possible use would be recording a car race and get stats by lap
It could be usefull too to record frequencies of CPUs.
I tested all functions and all work flawlessly on my Xperia Z (see details in my signature).
Just noticed it is possible to stop sampling by touching the screen but cannot resume sampling the same way...
BTW : if you need translation in French, feel free to send a list
BTW (bis) : Congrats, you made it to XDA Portal !!!
I am working on a recording feature but it will take some time as my main priority currently is for fixing bugs on some devices and optimizing for tablets.
Also stop sampling is a way to review the sensor values on tap however it is impossible to resume the values from there tapping again to resume will reset the graph to initial values so that why I didn't integrate it.
Thanks for your feedback.
Great app! It will replace my 2-3 app I am used too.
Could it be possible to add a black font option (amoled-battery-use-wise)?
Thanks
very cool
I just started using this, very nice. It works on my galaxy tab 3 7.0 with Goodness ROM but not on my HTC ONE running ViperOne. The HTC is where I really want to use it but it uses a custom kernel. I will send them a message about it but I dont know how much they will do, they are some busy people working on a great ROM. Nice app for anyone who never has enough information about their device!

Maybe people dont know about it. I just happened to read the article on XDA which I almost never do. Also a lot of people are using custom kernels. If they get the message about contacting rom developer they may not go any further. I am not sure what needs to done by the developer to get this app to work with their custom kernals but it would be cool. Im sure they get tons of requests.
Maybe something else could be causing the issue on HTC one with custom kernel?
There shouldnt be a issue with app not working with custom kernels.
Anyone else can confirm if they are able to use to use the app with custom kernels?
App works great on custom rom and kernel. Also using xprivacy and we'll obviously app needs access to sensors but no problem or fcs. Haven't used color picker yet (kinda not sure what it's for but I'll just play around I just downloaded it) great work!
Hi
My application just passed certification process and wanted to share it with you.
This application is available to download for free on Samsung Gear Apps. Just search for "navi watch".
Imagine you are exploring new city or just going somewhere. To be most efficient you use Google Navigation to get to your desired place, but when you are in unknown area you need to look very often in your mobile to stay on path. During nice sunny day your screen brightness on mobile needs to be set on 110% to be able to see something on the screen and your battery discharges very fast(sounds familiar?).
Showing turn-by-turn navigation instructions directly on clock face eliminates the need to launch separate application every time when you look at the watch when navigating on your route. Turn-by-turn instruction with navigation image will be right there when screen turns on.
No need to waste battery on the mobile with screen on all time while looking for directions and keep your mobile in your hands all time, keep your mobile in safely in your pocket/bag and all navigation instructions are delivered instantly on your wrist.
How does it work?
It is integrated with Google Navigation using its notifications and it is necessary to grant notification access to "D.M.A Navi Watch" to be able to see turn-by-turn navigation instructions from Google Navigation directly on your Gear.
After that just start navigating to desired place on your mobile using Google Navigation and follow the navigation instructions on your Gear.
When you are not using navigation, the clock displays date and current weather information with beautiful animated icons. Display, font, colours are all configurable from the application on your mobile.
--Version 1.2
Fixed missing navigation instructions on Android Lollipop
Fixed screen not turning on before turn for some users
Added experimental support for Here maps
Here maps now works, but I don't recommend it. To get notifications on the watch, you need to make sure that the application is running in background.
Second issue is that when the screen is off, Here maps does not send navigations instructions after some time and you need to wake you phone to get current navigation instructions.
I'm working on fixing this, but hopefully Here maps will fix it on their side, I don't want to wake the phone automatically.
--Version 1.1.1(attached below)
Fixed vibation alert compatablity with latest Google Maps
--Version 1.1
Improved clock design
More and better navigation images
Added vibration before turn
Added display on before turn
Added battery icon
AM/PM or 24h time syncs with the device
Compatibility with Gear S
Share button - Don't forget to rate and share :good:

Quality word, if I had to say something, I would request a little bit more space between weather and date on the screen. But it is very nice work, this is now my watch face thank you !!
I searched for it and I don't see it... do you have a link for it??
update: Nevermind...found it... lol
Thanks for the feedback, I agree, it will be fixed on the next version. I was also thinking to put the date on top or bottom, what do you think?

Well, date and time together make sense to me, so I think it is cool like that. thinking maybe you could add battery percentage in a corner and bluetooth icon in another to know it it is activated or not (both possible to deactivate). I was not asking too much but you seem to ask for work so here are my ideas ahah, thanks for asking! I generally like to have as much information as possible on the watch when I turn it on...

Pedometer in another corner ? ahahah
Currently im working on more subtile display of the battery percentage, but yes BT can be added too(also configurable).

Wow !
Amazing app !!
I agree with some people here who have requested battery percentage level if you can consider this
Thanks for your work !
VERY well done! :good:
I did notice that 12:05pm does not fit the screen. Most of the "m" is off the screen to the right.
Thank you!!!
Not able to find the app in Gear App Store
Is this app available for US. I am not able to find the app in Gear App Store
Wow. This is one of the most game changing, useful, and well-made apps released so far.
Thanks so much.
I am going to try it out. Although, it would be nice to have the option to have it be separate as I like my watch faces and don't know if I want to change it every time I want directions, but does sound like a good idea. Good job!!!
Thank you all for feedback.
About the watch face and navigation, due to limitations on Tizen, currently it's not possible to have app that overlays on top of others(or I'm not aware of) like I did on my android application for the end of the world(search for "Doomsday - The last rain" on Google Play).
If it was separate app you would need to launch it every time when you look at your Gear during navigating on your route and that is what I'm trying to avoid, that is the reason why I added the weather widget. More options like app shortcuts or calendar events will be added in later versions.
Don't worry, I will think up something regarding custom watch faces.
I tried it on my Gear 2. Navigation is working and also showing the text in german. But I do not see the data and the time anymore only the weather is showing up. (I use 24h Setup)
Do you have any hint for me, please?
Update -> after reboot of Gear2 the time apears but still no datw
Also, I was thinking, if you make the weather forecast temperature smaller and put it on the left of the screen, you would have room for one shortcut for an app, woud that be possible ? I'm curious.. thanks!
Very nice app....thank you! Any way to use the clock on 12 hour instead of 24 hour setting? I can't a way to change that so far...I'm stuck on 24 hour setting. Again...very nice app! Works like a charm!!

It only shows 12 hour mode for me. Is your phone set to 24 hour mode by chance?
