Anyone have any feedback about app?

got a force close while using the color picker to choose a photo from gallery. But overall it's a good app showing device's specifications. Thanks
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I would love to resolve the force close issue, Can you tell me if you are rooted or not?

Anyone else getting force close while using color picker?

lastest version works perfectly. thanks!

I can't understand why you get so little feedback for your app!? It works like a charm on my Nexus 5 and it has a great design. Thanks!

Looks interesting!

Works like a charm
I used the apk provided (version 1.6). All tools provided work well on my N4 :good: . Non rooted and running vanilla android. Particularly I love the compass. So simple and functional. No issues with the color picker too. Those having issues with the color picker can try using the apk provided in one of the previous threads in this conv. Also, try restarting your device once. Restarts work like a charm in resolving most issues.

This app help fix SIII Gyroscope accuracy or just let me see the sensors? Please can you add calibrate or i need to send my SIII to repair?

Hi,
Just bought the Pro version as I am impressed with your work
Do you plan to add multi-core infos (activities, frequencies,...) ?
Is there a way to record all the infos ? Live or in background ?
It can be interresting to record infos (bearing, GPS, Gyroscope) in, for exemple, CVS format.
A possible use would be recording a car race and get stats by lap
It could be usefull too to record frequencies of CPUs.
I tested all functions and all work flawlessly on my Xperia Z (see details in my signature).
Just noticed it is possible to stop sampling by touching the screen but cannot resume sampling the same way...
BTW : if you need translation in French, feel free to send a list
BTW (bis) : Congrats, you made it to XDA Portal !!!

I am working on a recording feature but it will take some time as my main priority currently is for fixing bugs on some devices and optimizing for tablets.
Also stop sampling is a way to review the sensor values on tap however it is impossible to resume the values from there tapping again to resume will reset the graph to initial values so that why I didn't integrate it.
Thanks for your feedback.

Great app! It will replace my 2-3 app I am used too.
Could it be possible to add a black font option (amoled-battery-use-wise)?
Thanks

very cool
I just started using this, very nice. It works on my galaxy tab 3 7.0 with Goodness ROM but not on my HTC ONE running ViperOne. The HTC is where I really want to use it but it uses a custom kernel. I will send them a message about it but I dont know how much they will do, they are some busy people working on a great ROM. Nice app for anyone who never has enough information about their device!

Maybe people dont know about it. I just happened to read the article on XDA which I almost never do. Also a lot of people are using custom kernels. If they get the message about contacting rom developer they may not go any further. I am not sure what needs to done by the developer to get this app to work with their custom kernals but it would be cool. Im sure they get tons of requests.

Maybe something else could be causing the issue on HTC one with custom kernel?
There shouldnt be a issue with app not working with custom kernels.
Anyone else can confirm if they are able to use to use the app with custom kernels?

App works great on custom rom and kernel. Also using xprivacy and we'll obviously app needs access to sensors but no problem or fcs. Haven't used color picker yet (kinda not sure what it's for but I'll just play around I just downloaded it) great work!

FAQ
No Capture Method is available for my device!
This is normal if your device isn't rooted. It's the way how the Android security model works, it just doesn't allow taking a screenshot. However, you can enable screenshot functionality on your device by enabling it through a computer (this is a small flaw in Android which can be used for this). It's really simple, you will need to download a file on your computer, connect your device and run the file to enable screenshot functionality. To see how you can do this go to Screenshot Ultimate > Settings > Capture methods > No capture method help. You can email the manual to yourself so you can complete it on your computer (Windows, Linux or OSX).
I don't understand how to...
Just post your question (or comment) here and I'll try to respond asap (or someone else will).
Feedback
All feedback is welcome, so please let me know what you think of the app! Since the app is released on Play you can, if you want, post about it wherever you like!
- Let me know what device and Android version you use and what capture methods are available on your device.
- People with a camera hardware button and/or a search hardware button, could you please try the trigger methods for these buttons and let me know whether it works ok?

That's weird, what device do you have? And what Android version?
And could you maybe post the distorted screenshot? And did you have root?
If you had root some screenshot method should work.
Other people who tried have a different experience?

My apologies, I just saw you meant your signature is up to date. But could you maybe send the distorted screenshots? If you run the test you can go to /mnt/sdcard/screenshotultimate/auto/ where the test screenshots per method are located.
And shadowch31, could you try whether this app also gives distorted screenshots?

Did anyone else have the distorted screenshots? Because I can't reproduce it on my devices.

Just tested your app on my rooted N7000 running ICS 4.0.4. I tried 5 trigger methods: overlay icon, shake, service icon click, audio, power connects and everything works fine , but it always captures Superuser notification so I have to disable notification in Superuser.

You can solve that in two ways.
- As you mention yourself, disable superuser notification
- OR, you can change the capture method. First, you can run the auto detect method for detecting the available capture methods and see which ones have the superuser notification on top.
But if you take one screenshot with "Root 3" after that you can pick "No Root 3" and no superuser is required. Root 3 start a small temporary service running with root permissions which can take screenshots.
Let me know whether that works.
Did other people try it as well? Feedback is really welcome!

The reason I decided on doing this small promotion is to get some more feedback So if you want you can buy the pro version and get the full price refunded to your account.
About the app though, does it work on your phone? And what do you think of it? I'm looking forward to reading your review

Well, that should not happen, I thought the app was designed to be used intuitive. Could you explain a bit more on what you are confused about?
Here some explanations:
- When you take a screenshot it will get saved default to /mnt/sdcard/screenshotultimate/ (can be changed on settings page) and a window will show where you can edit, share or preview the taken screenshot.
- When you open the app you can press the menu button on the start screen (or go to settings > trigger methods) to enable/disable trigger methods. A trigger method will give you the possibility to take a screenshot on different triggers.
Let me know what's unclear so I can try to help you or maybe make the app easier to use (that's what feedback is for).
So does anyone else use the app or has an opinion on it? The more feedback I get the easier I can make the app Thanks!

[APP][4.2+] Daydream Launcher

Ever wanted to launch that fancy Daydream screensaver easier? In your Android 4.2+ device's settings, you are only given the options to launch Daydream while docked or while charging.
Now, there is an easier way simply to launch Daydream, right from your home screen, no matter if you are docked, charging, or neither. Just press the icon, and Daydream will start.
I have heard a few people ask for such a shortcut, so I made this; if you have any suggestions or problems to report, please let me know. Also, this is ad-free and requires no permissions.
Google Play link: http://bit.ly/XuPPmv
Also, if you want the source, I will look into putting that up somewhere, too, but it really is a simple shortcut application.
Last thing: if anybody wants to make the feature and/or promo graphics for the app on Google Play, post them here, and I will probably use them.
I hope this shortcut helps somebody out there!

Thanks for the nice comments, guys.
I know this is no excuse, but I have been really busy. However, I got going this week, and have looked into adding more features.
The popular request seems to be for the daydream to start when the screen becomes idle. Well, I have included that, kind of. Some of the features I have added were hard to do, given the way that daydream was set up by Google. There will be a Daydream Launcher Plus app for 99 cents on Google Play that includes many new features and will help to further my development. Also, the current free app will be getting a minor performance update. I hope you enjoy whichever app you choose to use! And, I love all feedback, good and bad (but constructive ).
Have fun, XDAers!

Thanks for the app I was looking for something so I could leave poweramp on and not get image burn in, like a screen saver, which this does -though I notice I have to turn off screen timeout (presuming in all modes one needs to?)
Thanks
Edit: just changed my "car" profile in my profile settings to screen timeout "never", so that I guess easily enough solves it

I know this is an older post but wanted to point out that modern led screens are very very hard to burn and it would take years n years of a solid non moving image to burn in, long after you would have retired most phones. Have you ever seen an image burned into any phone?

I have the Samsung Captivate with the Super AMOLED screen. Apparently some image burn in can occur, as I set power amp music player screen to not turn off when playing, and after not even that much use (maybe more than i realized), leaving it on in the car sometimes, now when it's a solid screen, such as solid grey, I can lightly see the buttons (play, rewind, fast forward, etc.) burned in, so wanted to avoid further burn in.
Great app
I just try it and can say that is great app. It is be more better if you make that daydream app start when screen in idle. That be perfect. Thanks again for your work.

[APP][2.2+]Magic Fluids - fluid and particles animation (works as regular app or LWP)

Magic Fluids is a beautiful fluid simulation that you initiate and drive with your touch.
It enables creativity and allows to relax and enjoy smooth fluid motion.
Key features:
- Highly configurable fluid behaviour and look
- 10 configuration presets - if you're lazy
- You can save your own presets
- Multitouch controls
- Smoke and water animation
- Thousands of particles moving with the fluid
- You can pause the animation anytime and save screenshots
- You can use Magic Fluids as a regular app or as a Live Wallpaper
- Highly optimized, multiple quality settings for wide range of devices
Fluids of multiple colors mix and create beautiful patterns. Particles are a great addition to visuals.
It features two animation modes: smoke (classic) and water. The second one is not really a water - it's a little fake (as everything in computer graphics anyway), but behaves really differently than smoke - pressure and movement propagate through in a real liquid-like manner.
It has lots of configuration options and a great thing is, you can edit options and see changes instantly, because settings window AND fluid simulation are visible and active at the same time.
You can set fluid amount, fade speed, color palettes (or random colors) and a few more. The same for particles.
It also has mutiple fluid presets that present configuration diversity, if you don't want to manipulate settings manually.
There is a possibility to save your own presets, too.
I spend quite a lot of time on optimization. Add multiple quality options and you have an app that should work great on a wide range of devices.
I've added QR code to make it easier for you to find my app.
If you have any questions or comments, I'll be happy to answer.

How many cores can this app make use of?
I have a Galaxy Note 2 and I wasn't able to put the quality as high as I'd anticipated. I know the 4412 isn't the most powerful chip available anymore, same goes for the GPU, but I thought I could do better than, "The Jury's Still Out" with no paint, full line particles at minimum lifetime and size.

App uses as many cores as you have. The highest settings however, are not supposed to work well with any of the devices currently available. They were rather thought to serve as the "Holy Grail" of performance. But you're already the second person disappointed that can't use highest settings on their high-end devices, so I might remove one or two of them.
This sometimes crashes my Galaxy Y making me remove the battery, then it corrupts the partition.
What am I doing wrong?
Am I overheating it? (This app makes it a bit hotter)

Hey,
thanks a lot for your report. What do you mean by corrupting the partition? I hope you didn't lose any data!
I had some issues on my Galaxy Y some time ago during development, but I was pretty sure they were gone.
You're not doing anything wrong. The general problem is immense segmentation of Android devices along with multiple system versions, both stock and custom. It's basically impossible to make it work on every combination device + system under the sun.
But - enough moaning. What system version are you using? Does it happen only in wallpaper mode? If so, does it happen in any specific situations, like changing orientation? Would you be willing to install debug version of the app I would send to you and make some effort to crash it again and send me the results back? (it would probably mean extracing some file from sdcard and sending it to me - I'm not sure yet, since I don't have such version yet )

Im using the 2.3.5 default firmware.
It corrupts the partition because I remove the battery with the system on, but nothing important.
I think this is caused by the heat, it always happens when the device is hot.
Also, one thing I noted:
-Red screen (It turns back to normal after a few moments, probably because of some OpenGL problem).
Also, if you want, you can send me the debug app.

-Red screen (It turns back to normal after a few moments, probably because of some OpenGL problem).
Also, if you want, you can send me the debug app.

If it happens to you with other apps as well, then it's probably possible. App squeezes as much as it can from the device. I might add some optional FPS limit, but on not very strong device like Galaxy Y you probably don't have much FPS anyway, unless you're using first or second quality setting.
I'll think about this for a moment and I might contact you. Thanks a lot for your help!
One more important question you missed from my previous post.
Does it happen in wallpaper mode only?

Happens in both modes.
As i said, it seems to be a heat issue. Since it works for some minutes, then stops the cellphone, thus making me remove he battery and corrupting the system.
Also, thanks for the quick awnsers! A+ dev and support!
EDIT:After some more testing, it seems to be the wallpaper mode.

Sorry for taking so much time to get back to you. Guess I might lose that good grade.
However, I might have some good news. Magic Fluids is updated to version 1.1 and one of the features is framerate limit option, which might (or might not) help for overheating issue.
Full list of changes:
- Added automatic drawing sources - it's great for Live Wallpaper!
- Added two new presets that show automatic drawing in action
- Added framerate limit option for battery saving
- Fixed bug with saved images showing in Gallery with delay
- Removed highest quality setting, since no one was able to use it anyway
Check it out on Google Play!

Just intalled this on my N8020 and love it! Im not a huge fan of live wallpapers but you have done an excellent job!

app looks great, congrats for it.
One recommendation, could you add an option to change the default black background?
Hey! Sorry for the bump, but I'm happy to say that the update worked on my Galaxy Y. It doesn't crash any more.
I'm on creeds ROM, so I don't know exactly if that changes something.
Version 1.1.2 used at the time of this post.

Hi. That's great! Entire wallpaper module was rewritten, so that's probably it.
Before the update however I had to exclude some devices in Developers Console - Galaxy Y, Ace, Pocket, Mini, because a few people reported really serious problems with them, like device going into bootloop. The update probably fixes this, but I haven't had the courage yet to enable those devices again.
Did you installed the update through Google Play? I was curious whether excluding a device from supported devices after someone downloaded it, will allow him to install further updates.

Really, anything at all...
Any device list on what needs root and what doesn't?
@AndTheBoys Not specifically since there are way to many devices. But the app will work on Android 4.0+, all rooted devices and for the not rooted devices the only way to find out is to try. However, if you managed to get another screenshot app working this app will probably also work.
Did you try it out? Let me know what you think of it.
More feedback is welcome!
I saw your nice app here now,
and I have to make a lot of screenshots bcs I make themes for my G-Note
so I just downloaded the app and tested it,
so far very cool,
but at once I miss a option (important for me),
the ability that the service stops itself after a time (maybe 10-20-30 sec or a minute)
would be cool if you could implement that
and I saw at playstore another screenshot app from you,
what's the difference
greetings
hara
sent from my G-Note
@hara74 Thanks for the feedback! Good idea to put a timer in it that will stop the service automatically. We'll add it probably in the next update! Till then, you can use Tasker or Locale to do it since Screenshot Easy has a plugin for those automation apps. Let me know whether that works till the update?
About our other screenshot app, that app has way more features and is way more complex. While Screenshot Easy was designed to have a nice interface and be really simple. So if you need more functionality have a look at the other one
More feedback is welcome! Thanks!
nice to hear that u will implement the timer :good:
no problem to close the service manually till you release ur update
I already tried Screenshot Ultimate yesterday, but the Easy Version has a nicer interface and has enough functions for me
only thing I miss also in Easy Version (Ultimate has it, I beleave), is to draw directly instead of using the roms drawer,
because I have to cross out a few numbers and names when I post screenshots of the themed contact or phone app
@hara74 Do you have Tasker or Locale by any change? That would make it even easier till the update
About your request for drawing inside the app, we specifically made the choice not to implement it since everyone already has an image editor in their roms and can install a custom other one if they want. And we want to keep it all really easy
More feedback is welcome! And if you downloaded and liked the app I would appreciate it if you could leave a review on Play. Or post it here
no,
no Tasker or Locale, but is OK till update
and also with standard drawer I can live
I will leave a feedback here and also at Playstore,
when I have worked more with ur app,
and have taken more screenshots
sent from my G-Note
@hara74 That great to hear, hopefully you'll still like the app if you use it a bit more
And if someone else tried it, please let me know your thought here. Thanks!
Does anyone have problems with installing and/or using the app? We're looking at improving it for the next update release, so requests are welcome!
Is it possible to add a palm swipe as an action to take screenshot? Basically like Samsung TW..
Thanks!
@acedik That's actually a good idea, we'll look into it! In the mean time, does the app work ok?
Let me know!
Screenshot Easy is growing really fast! Let me know what you think of it so we can even improve it further
thanks
@mamaliii You're welcome
But more feedback is definitely appreciated
Hi mate,
I made a new theme and a few screenshots,
so far ur app works great
sent from my G-Note
@hara74 Great to hear!
If anyone has feedback on the app let me know! Also, let me know how use the app (gaming screenshots, documents, etc).
We just released a new version on Play and I decided it would be good to post it here as well. Haven't posted much here.
Anything you would like to see inside the app? Or if you are using it let me know what you think of it! Thanks!

[Personal Review] Galaxy S7 edge Nougat beta firmware

Hi guys here you have a proper review of the Nougat firmware for the S7 edge based on my personal experiences.
So I installed it yesterday night via odin thx to @laimonas777.
With my own experiences I can say it is not as nice as I had thought.. It's hard to use, it's full with small bugs and delays and sometimes it can even freeze up to 30 seconds (My experiences).
Every app has got the new GraceUI of the Galaxy Note 7 including the settings app.
One of the best Nougat features, the display scaling option has got "only" 2 different options which do not differ that much from the standard option.
Let's talk about the Notification panel. You now have 6 toggles visible at the top but you cant swipe anymore. When you pull the statusbar twice you will see 9 toggles per page. Its much harder to find one toggle you are searching for because of the 3 toggle pages. On Marshmallow all toggles were visible in one "page".
Also the colors could have been better but I think everyone has its own opinion there.
Something which is also weird is that you have a search bar on the notification panel but actually you cant type anything in there. Instead, this textfield will just open the finder app.
The camera has got newer options and a totally different but perfect UI which I really like. But the new color modes are actually not that important features and were also aviable partially in 6.0.
Lets move on to the recent apps panel, which is a big pain.. The recent items got taller just like in stock nougat but the scrolling is a very big pain. Its just as the android nougat developer preview 1 for nexus devices also there are some minor graphical glitches which I have shown in the video.
Another thing I want to mention are the notifications. And yes, they are ugly but i am sure samsung will fix that. On every notification where you can tap for an action (example whatsapp, to reply) is a grey bar, which looks horrible. You can see it in the attached ss
Performancewise it hasnt got big changes but dont forget the delays when opening some specific apps etc. The battery consumption is also a bit higher but all these will get fixed with the final build (hopefully).
But now lets talk about the positive things :silly:. The Multiwindow option has got much better than it was on all other touchwiz versions, in short, its almost the same as in stock android nougat. Another thing which is perfect is the Window apps mode where you can open apps in window mode. We all know how bad this option was in Touchwiz, maybe no one of you ever have used it but now the window mode is very good and snappy. The negative thing there is that you cant deactivate these both modes anymore. So always when you try to pull down the notification panel from the right or left top corner, it will just open the current app always in window mode which is quite annoying.
And something which is annoying like hell is that if you play a game like doodle jump where you dont need to touch the screen the screen always turns off after a while. So the auto screenoff option doesnt get disabled while playing games or (maybe) even while watching a movie.
Galaxy Labs is now removed, so now you cant get all apps on your homescreen and you cant hide the appdrawer.
Remember that this is a very early beta build, and all of these bugs are normal and wont be there in the finale build.
Here is a quick video about the update to see how it looks
What about a dark theme...it was rumoured that Android N will have a dark theme not only that light one. Also the existing themes in store (for Samsung) work properly on N or not?
Sent from nowhere over the air...

Keep in mind this is the frist beta released from samsung, so some things might hopefully change by the release of the final firmware. Also, you do have scaling other than going through the developer options. Go to Display -> Font and you will get to cgoose both the Screen zoom (which is set to almost huge idk why) and of course the font size. This comes to be as tha Normal and Condensed options back from marshmallow.
Hey glad to help. nice rview my friend. . :good:
P.S What happened to the hand?
I'm using the ota build and its running lovely to be fair
Touchwiz is rubbish anyways and just install nova which makes Icons smaller

thanks for the corrections, in stock nougat there is an extra option for the display scaling. I didnt look in the font scale thought its just the normal font scaling
Hello, thank you for great review. Could you confirm one exciting feature of android 7 (atleast for me) that it works on this phone beta software.
As of Android 7.0 phone can read 2G/3G/LTE frequency without ROOT. Easiest way is to install app Cellmapper(mapping cell towers to map) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper&hl=en
Could you run this app and post screenshot while connected to LTE only(no wifi)? Also, maybe send debug report from settings menu to developer with screenshot.
Thank you

Strange review .... I have been using it also since yesterday, and it is faster and smoother then my MM stock ...
Agreed there is some laggs when double tapping the multi tasking bouton, but overall its snapier and more responsive.
Also I have not noticed any freeze. I find this beta very polished to be honest.
Have you done a full wipe before installing ? or OTA ?

Thank you. Does not seem to report more info than in android 6.0.1. If you see LTE band reported on Cellmapper screen you can make another screenshot, but it seems that this functionality might not be there.
It's not a review, it's a rant. I literally have no issues with it, no freezes what so ever, it's actually snappier than MM.
I think the 'review' tag should be removed from this thread or it should be locked, as it is full of false information and the corrections to that false information have been given, but the 'review' hasn't been updated. If people read this thread thinking it is accurate, they will get false information.
The comment about display options, for instance, is just the OP not knowing what to do. It's not something wrong or an option that has been removed, it's just a lack of knowledge.

Yeah, I don't get that with any app. The only thing a bit laggy is the "new window" tab animation in the browser and the notification bar. Apart from those two things, it is fine.
