So I upgraded to mixzing premium, and now it appears in my application management twice, as:

Are both of these entries necessary to run the premium version? i am attempting to maximize the free internal memory of my N1 and the "Mixzing" entry is 8mb, and the "Mixzing premium upgrade" entry is 1.04mb. Looking to get rid of one if i can...
You need both. You can uninstall the premium one but you won't have premium features. If you're rooted you can move the premium one to your SD card, if you move the basic you will lose your widgets because widgets can't be stored on your SD card. This is assuming that neither are already moveable to SD. I have a ton of apps downloaded with none moved to SD and still have 295mb left on internal memory. Maybe your phone has less space though.
'ello, gents. I just got my first Android phone and I seem to not be able to access 4GB of the internal memory. Under application storage, it has my available space as 4GB+, but won't let me install applications to it. I downloaded the disk usage app and it shows only 561MB total instead of approx 4561MB that should be there. I now have 62MB of internal space left and as I was typing this I got yet another warning that I am out of space. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I think when I turned on my phone i had roughly 4.5 GB available for usage. I so far have only used up aroun 500 mb. Everything else goes on my 16gb SD card. What all do you have installed on your internal to eat that much space up?
You could always try to wipe the device clean and start brand new.
Well, I have a few apps installed, but my point is that the space isn't being used--it won't let me use it. The phone thinks that there is only 550MB total internal space, and, for some reason, ignores the other 4GB (see the screenshot I posted). I have been throwing everything on the sd card and even ordered a big sd card for this purpose, but I still want to fix this issue. When I try to click on application space under application storage to get some options our something, nothing happens. It looks like I might need to just reinstall from scratch to see if that fixes it. I mostly wanted to see if others were having this issue our if it was a known bug. Thanks again for any insights.

That 4gb of space is specifically for your apps, if ur phone isnt recognizing or accessing it then u need to return it cause its faulty.

same issue here... 500MB out of 4GB used internal. All the rest of my apps are going on the SD card.
I'm going to see if I can make it over to the at&t store and see what they have to say about it, but if anyone figures out what's going on, let me know. I plan on flashing MIUI as soon as its out, so I don't know if that will resolve the issue, but its probably better to not wait and see.

I appologize in advance if this is a bit rambling.
I spent some time troubleshooting the issue and it does seem like the Atrix 2 has some difficulty using internal app storage.
Using the default App storage viewer (settings > Applications > storage use) it shows the correct size of 4gig, but using DiskUsage I was only seeing a size of 561MB.
I started to test this by installing apps till i hit the 561MB limit and sure enough at ~560 it started complaining that there was no more room available for some apps and for others it started to install them on the SD card.
So i decided to try and force an app to internal storage. DiskUsage showed 9MB free and I had a 25MB app installed on the SD card. Using the default app manager I moved the app back to the phone and it installed, thus taking up all the free space shown by DiskUsage, but at the same time increasing the size of the disk to accomidate for the overage. All subsequent app installs have gone to the internal storage, increasing the disk size in DiskUsage.

I haven't yet, but using azangerle's idea, I seem to have resolved the issue. It looks like you need to force the phone past the approx 500MB barrier by moving an app to the sd card, filing up the 500MB internal storage and then once the phone says that its out of internal storage, move the app from the sd card back into internal. It will allow it to be copied, and you should be able to use the rest of the 4GB of storage afterwards (I'm almost to 2GB used with apps and haven't had any problems).
I'm still going to ask at&t about it when I can make it over there, but its not as high a priority new that we've found a workaround.

If you go to applications > manage applications > and then select an application, you can choose to have the app moved to the sd card (or back to internal)

Ah OK. Thnx. I see a few tabs there... downloaded, all, on SD card... what does the 'on SD card' mean? I definitely have not moved any to SD and if I go on an application I am still getting the option to move to SD :/
They are only on the SD card if they have the green checkmark, even if they are on the SD card tab. Its very confusing.

Thanks for clearing that up, I wondered about that cause I know I hadn't moved any apps to my sdcard yet it told me I have a few on there. Maybe because they were installed off of it???

I was questioning why it showed like that on my phone. I have found some good info though
If you go into manage apps and click on the "on sdcard tab" unless there is a green checkmark next to the app it is not actually on your sdcard. Weird, but that's how it is.
I can live with that. Just wondering what on SD card means...

Hi all
This is my first post here. I am a newbie to this forum, the sensation and ICS but not to android, I was a proud desire owner for 18 months until I dropped it into the bath .
Anyway, since the ICS upgrade, I am a little confused on the app info screen. When I move an app to SD, it goes to something called USB storage app and not to SD? I have searched high and low for an answer to this before posting. Any ideas guys?

I'm on stock ICS, and I can't recognize the problem. Have you used app2sd to move apps or just the app drager. Cause remember to have heard about problems with the app2sd from time to time. Not much help though. Sorry

Total. 34.48mb
App. 412kb
USB storage app 31.52mb
Data. 2.56mb
SD card. 0.00mb
It appears that there is nothing on SD even though the app has been moved. Most of the app has moved to USB storage app, whatever that is?

Hi. my first post here on xda. Been with android since the G1 on android 1.0.
From what I can gather:
Total is the total app size
App is the storage on the phone
USB storage app means the app is installed on the SD card.
Data is saved items like games or logins
SD card is what the app has on the SD card regardless of install.
I unmounted my SD card and the apps that were under the USB storage app disappeared from my app tray. I hope this helps explain it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a htc 8x.
When i check storage i can see what's using the memory, and It says, that "others" is using 4.37 gb, and i can't discover what is using that memory.
And an hour ago, it was using 4.06 gb, and now 4.37 gb and i didn't put anything on my Phone.
Does someone know whay's using that memory ?

Do you have any streaming music applications on your phone like Spotify? These store bits of the songs you listen to and can eat up a lot of memory. If it's not that then it is probably just system files. My 16Gb Note II only has 10 Gb available to actually use.
Yes, i have spotify. But i only have 4 albums stored offline. The other playlists take space from the Phone too ?
It's not system items because It says in the storage what the system is using.

I had the same problem and the only option was to do a factory reset every time it got full. My phone basically became unusable and I ended up getting a Samsung phone instead.
Check the app "storage cleaner" can delete temp files at other space.
I have also a problem with "space" I have free 4.40GB at the device and I am going to download N.O.V.A.3 which needs 1GB space but does not let me installed because I have no space to the device says!!! lol
I just got my new SGT 2 7.0" and was wondering how to to increase applications/data storage on this unit. I know it has to be rooted. But then I got confused: there are different methods out there that are compatible with only certain ROMs, some sorts of scripts that you have to maintain/change manually and etc.
What I want is to install certain applications (Like Sygic Navigation) on external SD card (32Gb) and use internal memory for regular/small apps. The reason is that that navigation app has huge map files that cannot be stored on internal memory - no room..
Another thing I got confused is the way those scripts work: some of them allow to completely swap internal memory for external, some allow data files to be installed on the external card. Can you guys advise what is the best and easiest way to make this happen? Are there any custom ROM's that already support it? My tablet is not rooted yet and it is Android v 4.1.1 (build P3113UECLK7).
As far as I see it, being a great tablet by design - it has a HUGE functional limitation - low memory capacity - only 8Gb for 7 inch tablet. Or Am I missing something
I juat got one of those too I'd have thought 8Gb is plenty for apps. Just get a decent-sized SD card for your data (music, videos etc), preferably a class 10 card. Good luck.

The problem is that out of 8Gb we have only 4Gb available to use. The rest is already used by the system. And that is very, very limiting:crying:

You can use gl2sd app or the foldermount app, both of which require root.the first one allows you to move some apps to the sdcard and the second allows you to link and move large game/app folders to the sdcard(which is what i do, because the swap scripts do not work past4.1.2). I'm not sure if any of the external/internal swap scripts work on the p3100.
