[Q] Best rom for me? - General Questions and Answers

What Rom do you guys recommend I should get? (Samsung Galaxy S3, T999). I like customization, some simplicity, but overall- a lot of performance. Pretty new to root so I'm open to suggestions! (Also if possible please include things like whether or not I should use a nightly or stable version, etc.)

[Q] DarkyROM vs Raver's AudioPhile ROM

Hi.
I'm a user of Samsung Galaxy S with DarkyROM 11.0 Black Edition. I'm not quite satisfied with it, because it's really laggy after half a year of using it, so I'm planning to change my current ROM onto something different.
I need a fast, decent one which would be suitable for an audiophile (it should have etc. preinstalled Voodoo Sound and some other quality stuff). Yesterday I've found Raver's AudioPhile ROM (ICS version, which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886035) and now I'm considering flashing it. Does anyone knows cons and pros of this possible ROM migration?
Winged.

The Best Rom for Samsung Note 2 N7100

I wanna create a thread, to help each other finding the right ROM, according to our needs....we will debate the stability, performance and autonomy ( battery life)
i m not a fan of a single developer, now i am on Monxdified v.8.02, the first custom rom on NOTE 2, i got a good battery life, is stable, smooth...what else is out there to try?
I m interested in stability and battery life , and few options on top of the rom, not tons, just basic stuff, like the 4 way reboot, customizable toogles, etc
Devices History:
Motorola Defy (Cyanogen mod 7.2)
Motorola Razr XT 910
HTC One X (Blade Rom , ViperX, ARHD)
Samsung Note 2 N7100 ( Monxdified v 8.02)
Monxdified v8.02....moderate use, low battery draining, specially in standby
i think you cant say that there is a best rom. battery and "smoothness" really always depends extremely on the user and is not really measurable objective.
Don't know what everybody wants to know about stability? If there are no force closes (which is the case with almost every ROM) it is stable right? Of course there are some extraordinary roms like cm 10.1 (camera might get stuck or phone can't connect to camera) or weeo's and mazanda(?) note 8 rom (which got occasional hiccups and force closes because it is something way different and a lot of work) but the rest (based on sammy) is always stable isn't it? Phoenix rom, android revolution, criskelo's rom etc etc are all smooth, battery friendly and stable. I think it is just personal preference (like customization in aroma) and what the rom looks like that makes users choose one or another.
and as you haven't created something this thread probably belongs in general discussion. - just saying
Closing this thread as there is no better Rom than others.
They are all different and one Rom that fits someone needs might not be suitable to another user.

Slim for SM-T520 (Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1)

I've flashed a lot, but never created a ROM. What is the best way to request Development addition of this model and/or or to begin to try and create myself, coming from a zero level of experience? The Slim experience has been the best, over a couple of platforms.
Glad to see someone make an attempt to get a slim (hope LP) for this device.

What ROM for most AOSP/cyanogenmod experience?

Hello,
today I got a new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Exynos).
Since today I always had a Galaxy S2 with Cyanogenmod installed. I never ever used the original Samsung ROM.
Sadly there is no Cyanogenmod for Galaxy S7.
I am looking for a ROM with these features:
- as much AOSP/Cyanogenmod like as possible, I don't need touchwiz, I'm fine with e.g. NovaLauncher (*but I heard there are battery drain issues on S7??*)
- no preinstalled apps, no google play store, a really "clean" android (of course camera, sensors etc should work)
- possibility to encrypt device, root, xprivacy
- a nice dark theme
1) Is there a ROM that suits my needs?
2) Or should I take the newest official ROM and debloat it with the tutorials here on the board.
Thank you for your suggestions! There are so many ROMs here, it is hard to choose.

1: No. There are no AOSP/CM roms for the S7 due to lack of sources for the kernel. The best you can do is to run some "custom" touchwiz rom where most samsung apps (such as dialer, contacts, clock etc) have been removed and replaced with their google counterparts, but in the end of the day, it's still a touchwiz rom.
2: Since the last phone you owned was the S2, I suggest you give stock touchwiz a real chance, a lot has changed since the S2 stock days so who knows, you might get used to it. The Android 7.0 Beta rom is quite good looking and quite fast, not stock android fast but still pretty good. Give it a shot and see how you feel about it.

Options for a Samsung S6 ROM

Hi guys
I used to use Cyanogenmod. Recently I've been looking to put my Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-920F on Cyanogenmod 13.
I'm not totally set on Cyanogenmod but I would really like to try out some 3rd party ROMs. Anyone know any that are close to functional on android 6. I've been looking around and the versions I've found of cyanogenmod have a list of missing features. The other ROMs I've found are on Android 5.1.1.
I'm not concerned if theres a few things missing on the features list.
Any thoughts guys, what are you guys using.
I used to stick with the Cyanogenmod ROMs as well until I got my 920F.
I've played with a few of them, but I'm currently showing the CarHDRom some love along with the Twisted Kernel V10.
The Pixel ROM is also worth a look.
I'm no expert but I know what I like.
~Thanks for that. I'd seen carHD but th elink I found was on android 5.1 I'll take a look at all of them
