TWRP backup - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All of my TWRP backups have a date of DEC 31 1979. Will this be a problem if I need to restore?

Actually probably only the radios are different, if this situation is any similar with the D3, it should work minus phone and data
a confirmation from the dev may be needed just to be sure the radios wont fry if flashed with wrong software
Get it working for the Maxx HD!
Radios are deff different and some other stuff

Thanks, hope to see more. I just upgraded from the thunderbolt which has all but vanished from the scene. Loving the battery life on this one...
Updated OP with new CM10 version.
Has anyone worked out the difference between the international xt925 (unlocked loader) and the XT926?

Tried to flash using TWRP then CWM and got errors both time. Anyone get this to work.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Yea, it works. What was your process?
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
Wipe data/reset.
Flash ROM
Then it errored.

I get "No MD5 file found"
Sy link: some symlink failed.
Unable to mount system.
Trying to flash 11.16 CM10
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Did you check the MD5 of the download before you began? Is your boot loader unlocked? Are you on stock ICS or JB leak? Did you use Voodoo OTA rootkeeper for any reason? All shots in the dark... worked OK for me on stock rooted 4.0.4.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
I'm unlocked.
On Jelly Bean leak
Yes I have Vodoo Root Keeper.
For some reason I thought I needed to be on Jelly Bean leak.
Could it be root keeper causing the problems?

Another question since I see your name in a lot of good info. I thought I saw somewhere about replacing that stupid unlock warning with the Motorola symbol again.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Not sure about this but make a backup of your current state (you probably already have) then in Voodoo app delete the SU backup then try again. Also I'm not sure if it can be installed on JB leak (not saying don't do it, I'm saying I don't know.)
@dhacker29 or @Hashcode0f via twitter will be able to answer your questions if my suggestion doesnt work.
EDIT: just updated the OP with his download page... There seems to be a newer version out anyway, try them.
Thanks

Did this work for you? Did you remove Voodoo root keeper? I have trouble like you trying to install this rom

[Q] Can't create Backup image.

I have just rooted my TF300 using Fastboot. When I try to backup my boot image I get the "Backing up Boot image" message but my tablet just sits there. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
What recovery are you using? I had same backup issue after I first flashed CWM recovery, couldn't get past 'Backing up boot image'. I flashed TWRP recovery and backup worked, not sure why it didn't work on CWM. Hope this helps.
Yeah I am using CWM. I will try TWRP and see how that works for me.
I think twrp works better, for me at least.
Cwm didn't want to make a nandroid so I switched to twrp
Sent from my Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
So my next question is can I flash TWRP over CWM?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
yes you can
fastboot or terminal emulator
just dl the good version tf300 or tf300tg , ics or JB

It's also possible to flash twrp from goo manager while rooted
Sent from my Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
NO NO NO
Download - via Goo Manager
Installs via goo manager are currently unavailable due to different builds being required on ICS vs JB.
read please before say bullS**t

+1 for TRWP. Mine wouldn't make backups when running CWM either.

Help flashing ROM

Okay I have safe strap, I used that to flash ROMs every time I try and flash a ROM it will say successful and gapps will say successful, but when I reboot the screen goes black and nothing appears. But I can go back to stock ROM and its fine.
Everything I did.
-Rooted
-unlocked boot loader with safe strap
-downloaded many ROM ex. Aokp, cm10.1
-turned off phone accessed safe strap
-made ROM slot in 1 nothing 2 nothing 3 nothing and 4 nothing
-wiped cache and other three
-installed ROM and gapps
-reboot and NOTHING!
4.1.2 RAZR HD
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
No need for safestrap on an unlocked BL use TWRP instead and it should work
Sent from my XT925 using xda app-developers app
Do I have to uninstall safe strap and if my boot loader is unlocked is that going to matter if so how would I uninstall and thanks
Sorry I'm kind of a newbie
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Make sure to delete the partition you created with safestrap then uninstall it. Then use one of the tools in the development section if your not comfortable using fastboot commands to flash either twrp recovery or cwm. Then install your custom rom and it'll work fine.

How do uninstall I tried deleting the app and when I reboot my phone safe strap is still there it version 3.12
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Aparently safestrap doesnt flash 4.2.2 roms.
I had this same problem. You'd be better of using clockwork mod.
Sent from my XT925 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
You have to uninstall through the app like I said man. Not just delete it.

I don't see why he shouldn't use cwm. I find it more noob friendly it's harder to do something by accident.

Appreciate the help guys did everything installed twrp but when I try to boot recovery I get the dead android triangle?
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
So the recovery wasn't installed correctly basically.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app

[Q] CWM flash back to stock?

I have searched but didn't see anything. I would like to flash back to stock with CWM. Thanks in advance for your help!
Use the droid utility to flash back to stock except for the recovery.

No, there is an option to restore all but the stock recovery.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Okay thanks! I had the utility on my desktop. I rerooted it too cuz SU seemed to be missing. And the stupid update has popped up again!!

[Q] How to change recovery

Im on the latest twr 2.6.3.0 but it does not read my backups idk why so now i wanna go the CM recovery.. What are the proper steps for this would i loose all my stuff.. Txts apps app data like my bookmarks etc
CWM and TWRP are incompatible so you can't use TWRP backups on CWM or vice versa. You can download Rom Manager and flash CWM through that. If you want to keep your backups then restore TWRP nandroids one at a time, switch to CWM, then perform a backup.

You can try to use philz touch recovery, it can also restore TWRP backups.
