Here is what I did to install TWRP for my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, Root, and install Super user (compatible with the SM-T310, SM-T311 and SM-T315)
As best practice I always start with these prerequisites:
1. Full or near full charge on your new Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
2. OEM USB cable
3. Connect table to PC at least once to verify they can communicate
4. Use USB 2.0 port
5. Make sure your PC has an internet connection active
6. Make sure your table has access to a wireless internet connection
7. ** I used a Windows 7 PC ** (post 2 confirms Windows 8 works with this method)
Let’s get started (Total time less than 20 minutes, but hopefully more like 5 to 10 minutes)
1. Download ODIN 3.07 from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421&d13411114315 )
a. Extract to C: root for easy navigation
2. Download Recovery TWRP from ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386098 )
a. I used release 3 from http://d-h.st/bQh which was TWRP v2.6.0.0
b. Place this in the directory from 1a
3. Power off your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
4 With the tablet off you will now restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time for about 3-5 seconds till you see the Warning!! screen
5. Toggle the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
6. Start the ODIN.exe program you downloaded from step 1.
7. Connect your tablet to your PC
a. Drivers were automatically downloaded and installed on my Windows 7 PC (took a minute or two)
b. Make sure you have you table added in ODIN by looking at the ID:COM or in the Message window it will say Added!!
8. In ODIN Select “PDA” by putting a check in the box and then navigate to the .tar file from step 2
9. Now select “START”
10. In a few minutes or less your tablet will reboot automatically
11. Power off your tablet again and access the newly installed recovery
a. To access recovery press and hold volume up and power (release the power button once the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen is visible continuing to hold the volume up)
b. Hold volume up until you see the standard teamwin recovery screen
12. Once in Team Win Recovery select Reboot from the menu on the bottom right if you are holding your tablet upright like a portrait. Select “System”
13. Hopefully you will be prompted to install ROOT like I was
a. If so, choose that you do and follow the rest of the on screen instruction upon boot
b. I chose the TWRP install method instead of the paly store and my tablet reboot after downloading a few files
c. I verified with root checker and I was successfully rooted
14. Should this not work you can manually install using ROOT_SGT3_8.0.zip file and flash via TWRP located here (http://www.mediafire.com/download/wjye1yssb5ksbfa/ROOT_SGT3_8.0.zip )
a. Copy ROOT_SGT3_8.0.zip to your tablet (placing on the root of the tablet storage or in the Download folder is easiest)
b. Access recovery press and hold volume up and power
c. Select "Install" from the Team Win recovery menu
d. Navigate to the .zip file and select it
e. Swipe to Confirm Flash after it is done select "Reboot" and reboot "System"
15. Verify that SuperSU is installed and run any root checker from the play store if needed
16. Update SuperSu from the play store and reboot using the TWRP method if needed.
17. Congratulations you should now be done!
You should now be Rooted and have a Custom Recovery. Additionally you are now ready for any Mods or ROMs and Kernels once released and after you do a backup in recovery
For thoses that have any issues try the followingthanks to Skiebs post #27)
When you get to the step to get into Odin, make sure you unchecked Auto Reboot. Hit the PDA and find your Twrp file like normal and hit Start. Wait until Odin is done loading the file, once it's done. Put it into recovery manually.
Once I did this instead of letting Odin reboot my system, it went right into twrp recovery, then I just downloaded the ROOT manually and loaded it through twrp.
Works great
Hi, i just did it. Works perfect in my tab 3 8.0 tm-310.
By the way, i used a laptop with windows 8 so it's works.
Thanks you very much for the guide.

My Galaxy Tab 3 8" (SM-T311) Has Successfully Rooted!
Finally, I decided to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 Inch (3G Version) with this root method. I use desktop PC with Windows 8 Professional in it. Everything is running smoothly as described in this tutorial. Thank's very much for this helpful tutorial.
Happy rooting and be the device ours!
It Worked!
It didn't work at the first go.
In the second round, I disabled 'Auto-Reboot' in ODIN and flashed TWRP. Post flashing, I powered down the tab manually.
To launch TWRP, I pressed the Power + VolUp keys and let go of the Power button upon appearance of Samsung Logo (but kept a tight press on the VolUp) key.
I was not auto-prompted to root the tab. Had to installed the ZIP package manually.
Following Root, "Device Status" shows "Custom".
Is there anyway to to now unroot the tab and restore it to Factory Shipping status? Will definitely need it before a warranty claim.

Noob question - where is the USB debugging selection? Instructions don't say anything about it but, from phone rooting experience, I was automatically looking for it to be sure it was on in preparation, can't find it. Thank you!
To enable Development Mode, open Settings, About Device, click 7 times on Build Number.

Just curious
If I am rooting this device, is the stock ROM that everyone is referring to the same ROM that shipped with the device (including Samsung bloatware, etc.) or is it stock Android 4.2 which can offer multi-user profiles? Noob question sorry, just eagerly waiting to get something closer to stock Android. Ideally, CM 10.3

No its the same rom shipped with the device.. but the good news is you can remove all the unwanted softwares after rooting.. CM 10.3 is not supported for our tablet.. hopefully it might be released in sometime

Thanks! that's what i figured. it's not so much the bloatware as it is multi-user. i bought it (stupidly) thinking that if it had 4.2, there would be multi-user support. it's annoying logging in and out of things and i don't feel like shelling out for another tablet. guess i'll just be patient. thanks again!
Thanks
Worked perfectly with windows vista machine. You made my day. Thanks

Do not extract it. Odin uses .tar and .tar.md5 files.
installed ok with win 8 x64 thx very much
FAILED
I mistakenly disconnected usb cable thinking ODIN finished loading TWRP. It didn't complete TWRP installation. I can still access TWRP but can't obtain root either way. Tried rebooting pc, tablet, reinstalling TWRP. Get this:
<ID:0/016> Added!!
<ID:0/016> Odin v.3 engine (ID:16)..
<ID:0/016> File analysis..
<ID:0/016> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/016> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
i think i need to manually remove all TWRP files and start over again but not sure what to look for. Would installing an older version fix it? Should i try CWM and will it overwrite my broken TWRP?
Worked Great...
Thanks
Very nice guide. It worked flawlessly. Thank you.

I'm new with android.
I like to try it and put my Apple days behind me.
Never had a problem with 'rooting' it. But it’s time for something new.
I bought a Samsung TaB2 10.1 GT-P5110
After reading ( a lot ) on forums and google-ing youtube walkthroughs, I wanted to start the rooting process.
First problem ... the tablet is new but already updated to 4.0.4.
I don’t think I can undo that :-/
So I used Odin3-v1.85_3.zip and the file "GT-P5110_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.5.0.4.tar"
All went fine but then i had to root it.
Getting into "download mode" wasn’t easy.
I think my mistake was that I have to do this immediately after I used ODIN and rebooted the tablet.
But l’ll try that later.
The real problem is that I don’t have the choice in the menu "install zip from" sdcard
im reading the toppic "[How To] ROOT- Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 [GT-P5113 / 5100 / 5110 & 4.0.4 UPGRADE or OEM".
The menu i get :
Android system recovery <3e>
Volume uo/down to move highlight:
power button to select
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
This is NOT the CWM menu
I can see the external drive and can click on the file CWM-root-gtab2a.zip if i use "apply update from external storage" but it gives an error.
There is a link with "workaround at post 325. " but i dont know what to do.
The "workaround" is not for newbies i gues ?
ok.i read someware that the "Android system recovery <3e>" is not the CWM menu

Now i can update the "CWM-root-gtab2a.zip" file.
Next step would be => go to CWM => backup BEFORE you chance anything.
I can only go in the CWM menu if i do ALL the steps again.
Gonna try this this evening.
Thanx in advance
rooting help
Okay, Im not an expert, but I've rooted several android devices before. Some steps that i go through to make sure that everything will go smoothly are:
0. Check the forums first with a search to see if the topic hasn't been answered before. READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY. Most mistakes are usually user error. If you don't understand what you are doing, maybe you shouldn't doing it. Or you need to read up on it more.
1. Make sure that i have the absolutely appropriate packages to do what i intend to.
2. Make sure my Samsung drivers are up to date. You can install them with Kies or install them separately link in a development topic about rooting and so.
3. Download mode is accessed by powering off the tablet and holding volume down and the power button. Connect your tablet after you've set up the basics (pda file is correct for rooting, recovery, etc)
4. Go over everything and look for the right signs fora completed operation (PASS!, GOOD!, etc.)
5. Recovery mode is accessed by powering off the tablet and holding volume up and the power button. If you don't see the gear and top hat, chances are that you don't have the clockworkmod recovery successfully flashed. Try it again and if it still doesn't work, be as clear as you can with your next post why it doesn't.
I've the same model p5110 with 4.0.3 ICS build WALD2 and I've rooted and flash several times from stock to Rom to stock again. It's never easy the first time, but you'll get the hang of it soon.:good:
I am working on this just like you. I have rooted my phone but trying to root my p5113. The menu you are getting is the android stock recovery menu. When you reboot after rooting you cannot allow to boot up all the way or it will overwrite the cwm recover. So while you are rooting and it reboots, quickly unplug it and hold the power and left/volumn down key. That should do the trick
Yep,
Got it working.
Can manualy instal progs.
But im not sure im going keep this tablet yet.
Its a verry good tablet but,... maybe its because im an iphone user, and im used to cydia..
Keeping it for at least 1 month more before i decide.
Strange ,... there is no tomtom or garmin gps program ?
Are you guys using CyanogenMod ?
Dont see the point yet for using it.
Its fun using android do (boys and there toys ;-o )
a while later...

Tools needed to Root the new Pipo Ultra U2.
http://www.mediafire.com/?0g1tc07kx0tu482
Rar includes;
rkAndroidTool (English)
u2_root.zip
rk drivers
instructions...
This is the easiest way and will give you Super User and CWM recovery.
If you wish to use the Chinese application for rooting; http://www.mediafire.com/?mddj3wn8z2rcb1u
***Use at your own risk - I take no responsibility for bricked / broken devices using this thread / tools***
on a softer note, I am not sure what can go wrong given this method and the standard rockchip way of flashing the rom to restore
I do not take credit for creating CWM; credit to Christian Troy at dragondevs.com for creating a CWM for RK3066 tablets
Update zip is an edit of a script that has been floating around for sometime...
English Stock Firmware available from here;
http://www.mediafire.com/?145py7tcdmuu5aq
http://www.mediafire.com/?1m7nzmzda9vukah
Use at your own risk as usual though (with no guarantee) I do not think these methods will void warranty but its not my problem... (flashing stock firmware using batch tool will remove root & CWM)
Instructions
1. Hard power off your Pipo U2 (Hold power button until it powers off)
2. While holding Volume- (down) button
3. plug use into phone then your PC (update mode)
4. Install missing drivers from driver folder if you have not already
5. Run RKAndroidTool.exe
5. Unselect option 2 (Parameter)
6. Select Flash Rom
Your Pipo U2 should now have booted to Clock Work Mod.
Take a nand backup if you wish.
You can access CWM via the usual Android way...
(Power off Pipo U2, while powering on hold volumne- (volume down) & (holding power button).
Now its time to to get root access...
7. Copy u2_root.zip to the root directory of you SDcard.
8. Hard power off
9. Boot to CWM (Holding volume down as you hold power button until you see Pipo boot)
10. Select Install zip from SDcard
11. Scroll and install u2_root.zip
Will install and say that you are rooted.
12. Reboot device (you will now have Super User installed and working)
If you install Titanium and it doesn't give it root access just reboot again and fresh install TB and you'll be sweet!
Remove any bloatware / unwanted Chinese applications using titanium backup. (or install English firmware prior to root)
ENJOY!!! and please don't forget to hit the thanks button
Please post you responses and your device
This will ensure other user have the tools needed to successfully root their tablets...
I am quite sure this should root most rk3066 devices including the Pipo U1 , U2 , M3 etc and will be intrigued to hear other results as I am quite sure it should do all rk3066 tablets
I got CWM installed on the u2. When I install the root.zip in CWM, it says it is installed. However, I do not appear to have root access. I have restarted several times, reinstalled "root.zip" etc. The root checker app confirms that I do not have root. I also don't see Superuser installed in the apps list, etc. Any suggestions?
When I install root.zip:
Installing: /sdcard/root.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Applying root...
Deleting old binaries and packages...
Unpacking new files...
Setting permissions...
You have been root...
Install from sdcard complete.
new root.zip
Hi mate, appears I may have accidently deleted the wrong root.zip prior to creating these files...
This new one will do the trick

Yup, it worked on the first try. Root Checker confirmed, and Titanium Backup works. Future users just need to use CWM from first post, and root that's in second post. (post order may change if Raz fixes the first upload of course)
To other users based on my observations of just 1 tablet:
CWM install:
- If using Win7 64-bit, the rk drivers to install CWM are finicky. If the Win7 driver doesn't work, try the Vista driver (worked for me after a few tries). If that doesn't work, unplug and reboot tablet and try again. If you can't get included drivers to work in Win7, the drivers work flawlessly in WinXP.
I did poke around google/this forum/other forums looking for better drivers, but all RK drivers seem to behave this way in Win7 64-bit.
I *think* the included drivers with Superoneclick *may* work (the ones that Superoneclick forces Windows to use). Install Android SDK, then run Superoneclick and hit "yes/proceed" for the it's driver installation.
Using CWM to install root:
- The volume +/- buttons scroll up/down, and the power button is the enter key. However, for mine the power button is finicky. If it's not "entering" (and instead making the CWM logo bigger), try hitting the "esc" key and/or scrolling up/down.
Other programs I tried:
- While waiting on Raz's response, I went ahead and tried using other RK3066 root programs and none of them worked. I tried "Superoneclick", "Busybox", and even tried the questionable "ZhuoDaShi 2.2.9". None of them worked. Stick with Raz's stuff in this thread. However, YMMV.
Thanks Raz!

No worries. I have also sourced English stock rom in other thread if you search. Zhoudashi works with English but so does the new script
I am on win764bit, I think the drivers were the reason I couldn't get zhoudashi to work and had to find another way. Enjoy! Make it easier for those scared of Chinese app or can't read root thought its quite clear in English . Haha
BTW, some devs working on updated kernel
BTW, I updated root package file earlier to include new script.

@myvisione:
I can't post links since I'm new here. Just google "Pipo U1 CWM" and there's a version at slatedroid posted that should work.
If that doesn't work, in your CWM that's giving errors, try going into the "Mounts and Storage" in CWM and mounting that share.

I did the instructions as posted in the first posting and don't know what went wrong. After installing CWM and rebooting the U1pro wasn't able to boot properly. With or without SD-Card it came only to boot in CWM. Restoring or backuping wasn't possible.
Solution:
I reflashed the *.img with RKBatchtool. But at first the tablet didn't show up in RKbatchtool. The U1 (or in my case the U1pro) has to be started with Esc + Volume+ button pressed. This was the trick.

When you connect to flash cwm your device has to be in update mode (same as rk firmware flash), as you said previously volume+ for U1.
Use Google, there are posts on CWM for U1 though there is no difference in this version to U1... they re both rk3066.....

Thank you for your fast reply. When i start rkandroidtool which boxes do I have to tick?
Last time it went through but when it comes to CWM (which seems to be fine) there is no firmware installed on the device and so a reboot forces in CWM again and again. Maybe I triy with a different micro-SD inserted.

Unfortunately, you might need to factory reset.....
Else, flash official firmware with Odin in Download Mode. This may also wipe your data....

Hello,
Is this the only way left for me? Actually, I have noticed some strange things that I want to tell here, for eg when the tablet starts in safe mode, it auto restart after 3 or 4 minutes and even after deleting some application in safe mode, and getting the uninstall confirmation, that application again comes after rebooting, actually the internal space in critically low in the tablet, I think this could be the reason for this error, actually, I am searching some you know some type of working method by using which I can start tablet, but I am at no cost can lose the data, because the data stored on the tablet is very much important for me? So, Please guide me what to do? or where to contact to solve this problem? Hope to see some reply soon.BTW, I am from India.
Thank You.

There might be a few ways you can get hold of your (some) of the data.......
You haven't stated your device, firmware version, or rooted etc,
You don't sound that experienced, so I won't bother with adb pull from recovery (think you require USB debugging already enabled from with the booted ROM).
This is the way I would go about it, but will require you to install a custom recovery, root your device and have a microsdcard fitted. Are you willing?
There are many guides about for such, but the basic steps......
1. Download and install Samsung USB drivers for your device
2. Download Odin 3.07
3. Download custom recovery TWRP 2.6.1.0 or 2.6.0.0 (for your device model) and extract so you have a .tar file
4. DIsable KIES and kill in Windows Task Manager
5. Run Odin 3.07 and load [PDA] TWRP Recovery
6. UNCHECK [auto reboot]
6a. Power off device
b. Boot into Download Mode (hold volume DOWN + power until warning screen, then volume up)
7. Connect device with USB cable and wait for Odin ID:COM to change colour
8. Flash [START]
9. After [RESET], disconnect USB cable
10. Reboot into new recovery (Hold volume UP + power until enter recovery)
11. Perorm a full backup (I'd advise selecting all available partitions}, but change the backup pathe to your external storage first.
12. In recovery, go to Advanced - File Manager - and find your files and copy to sdcard. Internal sdcard is emmc in JB 4.1.2
13. If you can't see some directories, you may have to mount them in recovery first, also, some directory may not be visible if no root access.
14. After you've copied files to your external storage
15. Remove your ext sdcard and check with another device or USB adapter in PC that you have the TWRP backup folder and all files you copied over
16. Root a device and install Nandroid Manager app or Titanium Backup app etc and give root access.
16a. Without another device, You could also then factory reset you problem device, root it, and use Titanium nto retore you app and app data. try not to retore system apps if possible.
17. Restore some of you apps and data you need
Sorry, don't really have the time to hold your hand here, but at least you have a (long winded) way to recover alot of data and app data.
Just have a search around to various guides, there are many.
Just be advised that I am not responsible if it all goes to sh*t, just putting a "rough" method.
There may be better and easier ones though.
Best of Luck

Forgot
6a. Power off device
b. Bout into Download Mode (hold volume down + power until warming screen, then volume up)
Corrected step 10. Recovery is volume UP
These little errors creep on when you're writing "on the fly"....
Yeah, just have a read of the various guides. Just make sure you have all the required files installed/download for YOUR DEVICE MODEL before starting.

I am going to start the process of installing recovery into the device, actually this is the first time, I am going to play with Mobile's platform, so I have some doubts and queries that I need to clear before actually going ahead, Sir, firstly I want to share some things with you, as I told you earlier that I am able to start the device in SAFE MODE although, it restarts after some minutes, actually, I connected my device with the computer after starting in safe mode, my all the data showed in the computer I made some changes like deleted some files, but when the tablet restarts, I have seen the storage capacity of same amount that was shown previously before deleting the files, and also in the computer, the files that I deleted showing again, I don't know what is the meaning of this symptom? Please tell me more about this.Second thing, I want to know, actually, the latest version of TWRP is not available for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 3g model, so Can I use the custom made recovery like this "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47533648#post47533648", and If possible, please provide some links of the files that you mentioned to me(time is no problem, you can reply with your ease actually, I am going to go very safely).Thank You.

If you have another device, you could root that and install titanium backup (or another root type app) that can read and extract and install your data from that (don't install system apps across platform or different device).
If you don't have another device to test on, you will then have to factory reset your problem device and use same method I described above.
I stress that you have Nandroid all available partitions and backup as much data as possible to copy of device first (PC).

What version of recovery are you trying to flash? Ensure its the correct I've for your device.
If you are using P6800 device & TWRP 2.6.3.0, instead try using TWRP P6800 2.6.1.0 or a CWM recovery. You could also try TWRP 6800 2.3.x.x
You could also try and using a different Odin version. 1.85 or 3.07. Flash recoveries in [PDA]
I haven't used CWM in such a long time.....

Ensure you've done steps #1 and 4.
I don't know why it's not flashing. If setup everything correctly and you've flashed the correct files, it should work.
Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

Hello,

How are you? I think I found problem that is stopping the new recovery to boot, actually, on the Net(http://andwise.net/?p=292), I have read that on some Samsung Tabs, there is file .sh or something recovery.sh presents, that runs whenever you go into the recovery mode and this file updates the any recovery you installed and goes back to the stock recovery, Sir, I think this is the cause, anyways, Can you please suggest some way(Please take your time, I know you are very busy), so that I can disable this file or causes this file to not load? Hope to see some reply.

As far as I'm aware, the P6800 models do not have locked bootloader. Not to say I'm right, but never heard of it on our device.
You do not need root to flash anything on Odin, including custom recoveries.
Such ROM may/may not wipe, depending on the package.
My suggestion it's to take your device to a Samsung service center and explain face to face what you need doing.
Your doing something wrong or missed a step.
Other then that, I'm sorry I can't help. Sorry, I'm busy with my big problems right now..

Hello,
Sir,
Thank You very much for all the help.
Regards,

Okay so I've been at it for days and i mean like months.... when I first bought my 8 gb white Samsung galaxy tab 3 Kernel 3.4.5, android 4.1.2, model JZ054K.T210RUEAMK1 and all i have been running into is problems, like jittery display issues, or flickering display, I tried every method but none has worked but i finally found one and got it all working and running, First of all i would like to thank gr8nole for this method, and all who have helped him. So first let me explain the most easiest explanation for dummies like me, or noobs
Just and example video for visual learners http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XolmtyvS3Yk&feature=youtu.be, but you want to click on the files i suggested on the bottom lol not what he has on his screen xD
Must Have: KIES, make sure you have fully updated rom from samsung themself which can be found on kies when you plug it in and update firmware, which your android should be on 4.1.2 and version because that's what i have
1. First lets Get all the files we need, First go download SM-T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip at his xda post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433853, after you have download that you will a friend name odin, which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539 (With odin you only want to use v3.07) and nothing else , Last but not least you want this file from gr8ole android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip and save that to your sd card or ext while click on usb debugging or w.e you wanna store in on tablet
so you should have odin 3.07
T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip
android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip
2. Use the same method as g8nole and minor adjustments
Instructions:
1. Download ODIN on your computer (just do a google search to find it...version 3.07 will work fine). http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2189539
2. Power off the device.
3. Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
4. Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
5. Start the ODIN exe program using admin rights which means right click run as admin. I recommend un-checking Auto Reboot. DO NOT CHECK RE-PARTITION LEAVE UNCHECKED YOU BEEN WARNED (which it already should be). See notes about ODIN below.
6. Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them) which can be found here http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/.
7. Select "PDA" then choose the T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip.
8. Hit "START"
9. Wait for device to restart. Which means wait til odin says OKAY in the white box and the Picture ask you to reset, When the download icon under download updates is full bar, and odin says reset!, just unplug it. then restart by holding the power button down, with vol up, and home, once the samsung picture shows, only hold the up vol button, recovery mode should now be on. Select install zip, and locate the android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip)navigate with the up down volume button and power button to select) file, whichever you placed in sd, or exsd,
10. When all is done reboot device, then it will update your android once you turn it on, Now the anoying part, It will be rooted but what google play won't connect?, easy fix , first lets just update all the binaries since its already rooted in supersu app,
Google Store Fix, now first you have to delete your some things, your apps wont dissapear or nothing as long as you dont uinstall them, go to settings<application manager<all<google play store<clear data/cache w.e<force stop<uninstall updates<it will then ask you it will be factory installed<yes, next step, delete your gmail account if you haven't done so, now go to your time settings (Date and Time) and change it to recent date whichever today is , then open play store and it will ask you to sign in again, blah blah google needs sign up and it should be up and running
ALL DONE, remember this is for people who have run into flicker display problems, which is caused by kernal issue with our model, but with stock rom itself we can universally root it through odin with just that simple method which took me like 3 mins lol to do
Grats guys! you have root and cwm now who doesn't want that enjoy and thanks to developers hard work! and my ambition!
this worked for my SM-T210 also. Thanks heaps for this how-to!
Ok my device is already rooted but I would like to install CWM Recovery on it. So I can make a backup. Or does anyone have the stock kernel for it

Your best option is to get CWM sknce it will be your original backup instead of a Rom created from another device.
SM-T2105?
Hello,
I came here beacause of a shorcut link given by @gr8nole and another member (I forgot sorry).
But my English must be to bad, i read and re-read, still don't find the answer...
I have the G Tab 3 kids model, SM-T2105.
@bierma32 says: "Important is that you flash always the newest CWM / TWRP or PhilzTouch Version"
Could you tell me wich one is the best, CMW or TWRP, plz? (the last I can find for T210 is CMW-6.0.4.9 and/or TWRP-2.8.2.0)
More important, do you know where I can find the zip of a rooted stock rom, including that 'kids' stuff? (SM-T2105). Or will I not loose the stock rom? Is there no wipe? Sorry, I don't understand.
I want to root, because of lack of space, and the rest.. but I don't want to loose that..
And the most important, "last but not least", I could not find the zip " android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip", so can you help me please, putting a mirror or so? Or could it work only with flashing a SuperSU zip? Not so easy, right?
As you maybe can read, I am a newbie in Android rooting. Or is there another way to do?
Thanks for reply.
Can someone please post upto date instructions to root Galaxy Tab S6,
Please not just links to instructions for other devices as its not helping and confusing the crap out of me.
I follow the popular link and attempt to download magisk app but that page isn't clear and I don't know what version of magisk manager J should download.
I have tried one version, patched it, flashed it with odin but it fails at the end and doesn't 'pass'
Can someone please post what version of magisk manager to use and instructions for this device not galaxy tab 5se or whatever it is
Please, I beg you guys. Help me root this tablet, its driving me insane and I could almost ****ing cry.
Is it possible for someone to post a start to finish guide here that's upto date and all newcomers can follow? Please?
And please let this post stay admins and don't merge it to other posts that then link to methods written and intended for devices that are not a Samsung Galaxy Tab s6.
I beg you guys, let's make an idiot proof easy to follow relevant A to B complete walk through.
I'm sure many need what I'm requesting. Thank you.
Please
With the whole planet almost in lockdown and stuck indoors surely there are enough people willing and able to help make an A to Z guide to root specifically for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.
Of no would someone kindly say which version of Magisk Manager should be used, what files need to then be selected in Odin.
I am finding the guides unclear, I'd really find it helpful if a guide gave more detail about what file should be in the device, what ones need to be on a pc.
If an A to Z isn't going to be assisted please will someone specify what tools are needed and sources for them?
The guide which was intended for the Galaxy Tab 5 the link for Magisk Manager takes you to a page that doesn't give information about what version is needed or even where to get the download.
The guides I've seen seem to assume people already know pretty much the step by step steps needed to root.
Is a patched file Odin ready against XDA rules?
Could someone post the files they used to flash their device?
I'm so frustrated it's preventing me from thinking very clearly due to pure frustration.
Can't a downloadable zip be made with all the tools and resources in one download?
Pleeeeeeeease :/

Hi, Im looking at S6 tablet threads because I plan on buying one in the next month or so. I understand your frustration if your not firmlier . I am really good at rooting and modding although im not a developer I have built a couple custom roms. This is a telegram link im going to see if I can put it together and help.
You'll need a sdcard or USB Otg flash drive or something. Otherwise when you format data you would have to transfer files with TWRP and its a lot harder if your new.
https://t.me/wetatabs6
1. Unlock bootloader, Just like the note 10 you need to turn on developer options and find OEM unlock and turn it on. It might be greyed out if you just bought it if its been more than 7 days you should be able to click it on. Oem unlock is the bootloader unlock. It doesn't unlock the bootloader but it allows you to unlock the bootloader.
Im going to look into see if I can help you out more. Hold in the mean time keep looking and watch bootloader unlock for the galaxy note 10 on youtube its the same process Ive heard.

Heres a link to bootloader unlock for the note 10. Its the same thing for the S6 tab. Its the most important thing so you don't brick your device. Also what firmware and model are you on SMT860 or SMT865? You want to download your exact firmware from sammobile which is almost 6gb file so it takes awhile unless you have super fast internet like I do. It took me 2 minutes with 400mb/s speed. Once you get your bootloader unlocked let me know. I believe magisk 19.4 is what people used but im thinking magisk 20.4 would work to. You'll also need TWRP 3.3.1 tar file, Odin for windows you can find the files here make sure to get the twrp .tar file not img at first. Also make sure you get the right one for your model 860 or 865. Also get disable dm-verity force encrypt zip file in the link.

How to unlock bootloader...
1. Go to settings/about/software info and tap build number repeatedly until Dev settings is activated
2. Go into Dev settings, turn on OEM Unlock.
3. Boot into download mode, (plug in USB, reboot and hold vol up + vol dwn)
4. Once blue screen appears, long press volume up, until bootloader is unlocked.
5. In download mode, OEM unlock will show as being "off"
From latest stock firmware...
1. Unlock bootloader - See HERE (https://t.me/twrp_tabs6/2461)
2. Boot into download mode you can power off and
** FRP=off, OEM=off, KG=checking
3. Open Odin, uncheck auto reboot
4. Flash TWRP.tar in Odin (AP slot)
5. Reboot directly into TWRP
6. Format data
7. Flash encryption disabler - HERE (https://mega.nz/#!j5dGQAKY!R4lrZyayKvTWsTgqhakl62qGCRogRCowaKy9vA5khdw)
8. Flash WETA Kernel - From HERE (https://mega.nz/#F!6hFQkITR!oXvfEfC2mNx7okPPfOEgJA)
9. Flash Magisk - From HERE (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68966662&postcount=1)
10. Reboot system (not recovery)
Process from existing TWRP (update TWRP)
1. Boot into existing TWRP
2. Flash the new TWRP.img to "recovery"
3. Done, reboot
If you need any help let me know I've rooted everything I can get my hands on. I have yet to make a device a brick. This is just a quick layout I got off telegram. I know that it doesn't explain the little details and if your new you probably wondering a lot of stuff. First thing to say is if you have a PC with Odin and a copy of your firmware from sammobile you can restore the tablet pretty easy. I've never seen a hard brick and bootloops are easy fixes. I think XDA makes to big of a deal on not messing up and warnings. You need to rest assure that most cases are bootloops and are fixable with samsung odin you are safe thats why I only buy samsung now. If you flash stock firmware 100 times it wont damage your device. ALways make a back on to an external MicroSD card the minute you boot into TWRP for the first time. I play it safe I use a OTG usb slash drive and make another backup so I have 2 one on the sdcard and one on the usb flash drive. Then after your done backing up format the data by hitting the wipe key in blue on the screen than hit format data key and type yes. Its to format your internal storage completely because its encrypted. After that flash the disable encryption zip go into install key in TWRP than select storage and hopefully you have all the files on external sd card find the Dm Flash encryption disabler and click it should pop up a swipe to confirm flash swipe to flash. Next hit back key and fine theWETA Kernel zip file and swipe to flash. Than same thing again with magisk I would try magisk 20.4. Reboot to system

I feel I should apologise, I've managed to root my tablet following the tab s5e guide and now lent my laptop to a friend who has no Internet access. He can now use bt's WiFi hotpots. Thanks for the replies though people. An up to date guide is needed I feel though.
XDA is awesome
I haven't installed TWRP, I have done the method where I have to hold power and volume up until the s6 splash screen is displayed for root/magisk permission is booted.
Do anyone of you think its best to relock the bootloader?

So Im on android 10 and doing all the above. After getting into a fresh install a window pops up saying there is a problem with my device and touch controls dont work, however the pen does work. If I dont flash the kernel and encryption disabler it boots fine but it looks like TWRP has issues then.

Can someone kindly tell me how to root Tap S6 without TWRP methods. I tried to do the TWRP method but my phone bricked and stuck with bootloop. To stop bootloop I have to flash the android 10 stock firmware.

Have you managed to root your device yet pal?
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I've rooted my SM-T860 using Magisk and Odin on a laptop running windows 7. It was before android 10 was released for our devices and I haven't installed TWRP. I sold the laptop to a friend but I still have access to it when I need to use it. I'm terrified of bricking my tablet and probably over cautious. I want to upgrade to android 10 and be able to pass SafetyNet in Magisk etc. Sorry to be a pain, is anyone willing to tell me what I need to download in advance to then use on my friends laptop? Or can the upgrade and SafetyNet fix be done without having to use a computer?

Hello Everyone,
Its been a while I haven't rooted my devices since note 3 dev.
I just want to thank all those who have helped to create the root guide for the Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T860).
My sincerest Thank you. XDA-Community has always been helpful with rooting or helping/guiding if one brick their devices.
Unlock/Root without Access to OS??
Anyone able to assist me with a Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T860) that I cannot enable Debugging or OEM Unlock from inside Android OS 10 ?? The original owner is now deceased and I am trying to get this unit reworked for her Sister, my customer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.. ( I have a bunch of experience rooting/rom'ing, using Linux etc. so I can follow some "advanced instructions" if someone has them. Thx in advance..

Take a look at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s6/development/recovery-twrp-3-3-1-t3975587/post83615509
How i did it (im on november patch stock)
1. unlocked bootloader (youtube helped)
2. install samsung drivers
3. installed twrp.tar by using odin 3.14.1 (placed the twrp.tar in the AP list; uncked auto reboot and ra-partiton)
4. rebooted into download mode (power off device and connect usb to laptop and press Vol up + down together until download mode appears) then ensure the blue box appears on odin before flashing
5. blue box appeared. so flashed the twrp.tar
6. pressed Vol+down to reboot and then immediately pressed vol + Up to boot into twrp
7. Format data, reboot recovery; once in recovery connect to pc to copy over files for next steps
8. Flash encryption disabler (download)
6. Flash canary Magisk (download)
7. Reboot system
8. may hang on first boot, hard reset after 3 mins. Enjoy!!

Yes but you don't have a custom kernel so just flash magisk on stock kernel and it'll root
I'm stuck in Download Mode. And I tried to flash stock firmware but My tablet won't stay connected to Odin long enough to flash. And I can't get back into TWRP. What should I do?
