now i own a micromax rooted a116 hd..i would like to buy a samsung galaxy s4?is it realy worth al those big amount of money?
it depends
It all really depends. If you're a person who really like the newest technology and extra features then its worth it. If you don't think that you would use every feature (there are a ton) then it might not be the best choice.
I personally would buy it but i cant right now.

The Galaxy R, that most people are clamoring over, will never get a forum for certain. It's a cheap device that offers nothing new to the community. If you want to mod your device, then get a decent one that we support.

I think we might have pissed them off pretty bad.
Yes they created a sub-forum for us.
Just so that we will stop whining.
But I feel it will stop right there.
Devs may not come in to support our device.
They will probably get the devs to boycott our device n never produce anything.
Then they will claim, "We opened a forum as requested but never promised to offer support for it......".
I'm not saying it will happen, but u never know.
Just my thoughts and rambles......

XDA mods do not have control over the devs.
The devs will do whatever they want.
Do not worry my friend....
We have already 2 custom roms in production and 1 chinese custom rom it seems.
The sun shines on I9103....
calm down friends, there is no need to fight against the admins.
IMO :
Even s2 users(Or fan-boys ) hate tegra. I don't know why. I am new here. I don't know what happened before. But we have much other things to do.
just leave them.
don't worry about ROMS.
Now Samsung confirmed ICS & more people will buy this phone.
And, I think that Chinese devs already have 2 ROM( i used google translater). here some devs are trying to do. in the future we will have more...

S II fan-boys hate Galaxy R because:
- they can not accept that there is a device that looks exactly like the S II
- they can not accept that there is a device that does the same as the S II
- they can not accept that we can support Tegra 2 Games NATIVELY (we have a tegra 2 processor) and they have to use a software mod to do that
- they can not accept that our device costs less then theirs
- they can not accept that if we overclock our i9103 to 1.3 Ghz, our device is much faster then a stock SII at 1.2 Ghz
But as you say, ignore the Galaxy R haters.
Our success is the best answer.
Peace!
Guys I'm planning to buy the samsung galaxy r.

Gr8, Thanks for the reply.
But can you specify your problems?
Please check my thread. I have an ongoing narration about it there.
Its a very good phone, economical for a hi-fi specs and lots of scope in tweaking.
Except for battery life, its a very good phone. Reliability and failure issues do exist in every electronics products.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROPER WARRANTY SUPPORT AND SERVICE IN YOUR COUNTRY. IF NOT SAMSUNG WARRANTY, AT-LEAST THE SHOP WARRANTY.

Well this thread is a little vague, no offense, to a potential new user.
Anyway, I was gonna buy this phone for my little brother, mostly for gaming and had a few questions.
1. Being a tegra 2 device, I presume it runs most of the hd games flawlessly, right?
2. Which is the most stable rom and kernel available atm? Keep in mind, My bro would not be updating his phone in the near future, not even for ics, until I get my hands on it after about a year.
3. Ya'll talk about certain problems with the phone. Could ya'll please be more specific and elaborate? The dude who asked to check his thread, can you please provide a link mate? (I'll be searching when on my pc tomorrow, but will be nice if you can help for tonight's reading.)
4. Does OC really help on this device, again will mostly be used for gaming.
Will be happy if I/my bro doesn't get any random reboots, fc's, or crashes etc.
Cheers
P.S. I own a galaxy s2.
Edit: any other helpful suggestions will be much appreciated.

OC and non OC not a big difference.
First if it is not a big difference in money go for SGS2 it is more powerful device (not by a lot but still).
No significant issues with stability, and it has a great screen (my reason for buying it).
I know AMOLED has some advantages, but short lifespan is a no go for me (burn-in issue).
Also seems SGR has better sound processor.
On other fields SGS2 has an advantage. Consider this and do a little more research and make a decision
Well i've been considering going back to developing for a few months, however a few things have been stopping me from doing this, but to keep it short: for now i'm going to do it as a hobby so i'm not planning on buying an expensive phone (as i don't own an android phone right now), my contract ends this week and i can get a new Moto G for around 72 euros which i consider is a great price. So here are my doubts:
Is the community good for this phone? I've wandered around its forum a few times and so far i have a good impression, but i'd really want to know the users opinions
Do you think it's worth it and i could take advantage of this phone? I personally think its a great phone for this as its pretty much stock and for what i've seen support is quite good, but i just want to make sure
Thanks a lot, and i know this questions might seem stupid but i'd really use some help

Yes, do it!
The community is big and nice, and the phone is very nice!
A big advantage is the nearly stock android.
Have a nice day!
The phone is in Germany always out of stock. I think many people bought this phone all over the world. So the forum will grow!
Do it! Please
The more developers the better
There are a lot of people with the moto g and if you can get it that cheap I really suggest you buying it.

Yes please do! This phone is amazing for the money. It's a snappy beautiful device. More roms would be fantastic!
Should be arriving next week or so, i guess i'll give a try at making a rom after a few weeks, really looking forward to this =) Quite an amazing phonee for the price
Great to see another developer getting onboard.
Really looking forward for your contribution.
Good choice! The Moto G is a nice phone for a low price, and one of the reasons I bought it is to try to develop for it as well Compiling CM11 for it as we speak.

Cool seeing there arev many devs for the phonee
Hehe, don't expect too much from me though. I'm a software engineer, but this is my first time developing for Android. I wanted to look at the code because my Moto G suffers from the dreaded RAM bug, and I have an idea what the problem could be. Hopefully I can contribute to getting it fixed
It's a great device for the price and it would be nice to have more and more developers going for it!

If you'll be doing it for ze donationz, better don't bother. Posting such a thread is hilarious.
I think It is one of the best smartphone today. It isn't expensive and it has good performance.

I dont recall mentioning donations at all, and if you knew my previous work on the Galaxy S you'd know i started without even the option to donate which i added later on after a few users asked me to do it, wouldn't have put a donation button if it wasn't for that, i don't do this for donations. I do this as a hobby because i find it fun, and it's quite satisfactory reading nice comments on work you've done (not that i have done any for the moto G yet anyway). I find it more "hilarious" you're calling a thread hilarious for such reason, if i wanted donations don't you think i'd go for a high budget phone where you could expect greater donations? The only reason i did this and i chose such phone is because i think for such price, a great base (aosp) i can learn a lot.
Not that i care about your comment anyway as it's based on bs, and saying it's hilarious says a lot about your sense of humour which i'm sorry, but i don't share it
Just wanted to clarify a few things, to avoid confusions, and i'm sorry if i offended someone with the answer but i just answered the same way as the way in which the post i'm replying to was.
yes plz we need more dev

I can't believe this. Like, really. The Nope 3 got Lollipop before the Nope 4?
And now Samsung making slimmer ROMs?
I wanna hear your opinions: is it better that most of the bloatware is going to be removed?
Trick question. Dear mods, please ban anyone who answers the question above with "no".
No, er, I mean yes.
I hope so -- I would much rather see them have a page in the setup that simply says "Try these apps on your Galaxy" that the user can read and decide i f they want to download and install.
Yup optional is the way forward plus it means Samsung will probably have to spend less time modifying and testing android updates.
My biggest bug bear with Samsung has been the over customisation. If it wasn't for them being the only ones to make something like the s pen I wouldn't use them.

Hello,
I finally got a z3 compact and don't want to brick it. I'm way new to this (read: virgin). I read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2920630 but that was a year ago and didn't tell me much anyway. I'm just looking for a good phone to learn/experiment on - I know there are many but if someone has any particular recommendations or could steer me towards a few that are more suitable, that'd be great. Also, if I should post this in any other forums or sites?
Thanks for any advice you can offer...

I'd recommend a Nexus 4. You can get one for very cheap these days, but it's still a competent device; nearly 3 years old but with hardware that outperforms the "budget" devices that cost more. There's a massive amounts of development, and it's practically impossible to brick. You might want to get a new battery for it though. It's not terribly difficult, but it does take some tools, patience, and confidence. A Nexus 5 would obviously be the better device, but it'll cost more.
