Hi everyone!
I have one question: is there any possibility to change height/width of soft keys in our XL?
Thx for replies
yeah it is possible.
the file is inside framework-res.apk and called dimensions.xml
there is somewhere the line "navbar_height" or similar, value should be 48 which is in pixels.

Value should be 72 pixels because 480*782 is the actual display while 480*854 is the total display.
854-782=72
You can change this for me?
Please
It's link framework-res.apk
Change height to half of original
PS
After that i put this to system framework just like that?

no you can do that by yourself... you have to decompile the .apk to modify the .xmls via apktool and afterwards recompile and sign them (I am not pretty yure about that, look for it in apktool thread) and then flash it.
You can try to put it manually but when I tried that a long time ago I got a bootloop.

dont forget to patch framework.jar
if you dont patch framework.jar you will end up with bootloop

On LB you can do this.
At first root and fix reboot:
root full LB or folling post.
Now use this tool to deodex your ROM:
Deodex .17
first copy your edited framework-res to SD-card. now copy from SD-card to /system/framework with any rootexplorer (i use TotalCommander) and set permission 644. reboot.
Please don´t forget post your edited framework-res with creenshoot and changelog.
No need to change the file 'framework-res.apk "
Simply copy the attached file in the folder '/system/vendor/overlay" with any rootexplorer and sets the necessary permissions (644)
In this way you avoid the bootloop.
Requires ROOT to copy the file.
This modification changes the StatusBar height to 20DIP and the softkeys height to 28DIP.
Sorry for my bad english, it's google translate.
Nice mod and very simple. :good::good:
Sorry for my question, but is there a way you can add a permanent shown menubutton. I would need this button in my prefer Launcher.

Originally saw this thing on Xperia Z forum so tried it on our Xperia L and voilaa ! Its working.
✪ PROCEDURE ✪
1. Open any Root explorer
2. Navigate to system/app and find UxpNxtlockscreen.apk
3. Don't delete it. Just move it from there to have a backup or Rename like UxpNxtlockscreen.bak [ Extension should be changed to anything ]
4. Reboot to recovery
4. Flash the given file and reboot.
Note: Now this will work only and only on Clean N Tweaked ROM v2/2.1 as patched framework in ZIP is from CnT ROM. Stock version coming soon:good:
✪ How to revert back ✪
Just copy your backup again and set permissions as RW-R-R and reboot. Or just rename the extension to UxpNxtlockscreen.apk

I have been looking for this all night. I found so many posts and so many bootanimations that just didn't work. Thank you. I might try your modded version. Your previous post with a download link to the original animation didn't work for me, either. This one does and fits my Nexus 5 display, which is exactly what I wanted. Thank you!
does it also work on the actual android 4.4.2 stock rom from sony?

The Z1 is 1080p (1920x1080), correct? I use this on my Nexus 5 (also 1080p) and it fits perfectly. Just download the file he linked to in his post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48528841&postcount=9 and copy it to /system/media and change permissions to rw-r--r-- and it should fit perfectly. what i found out was the in order for the 1080x1920 resolution to play the JB bootanimation correctly, the dimension of the jpg has to be size to
540 x 960, else it will become empty screen or in smaller screen.

Your Zip can flash => Script OK
But the PROBLEM is
- The color not change => just like stock
So the problem i have met before:
- Before, i try to change the color code in color.xml the ZIP inside asset folder => the color more deep => but when put in to system/app => color not change => just like stock => i dont know why => try cho change the color again: such as RED to Yellow => replace to system/app but the color still not change ???????????????
OK thank, the script is bad... I fix the probem today... But in manuel it work after reboot...

Then, you'll have more users - it could be used on stock, unrooted OS.

No, why?
If you move one apk by one you'll replace existing apk with a new one.
You'll see that when OS ask you "are you sure you want to overwrite existing apk"?

I'm sure jfx used redtheme.apk as a base and as system already has same signature it won't work...

Mate, I can't remember who built those themes (that doesn't overwrite existing ones) but if you know it would be great if you could modify them.
Not only you wouldn't overwrite existing themes but you'll "expand your market" 'couse one shouldn't be rooted to use them than.

FEATURES
What is SUPERUSER MOD ?
I spoke to Niaboc79 and he sugested we should patch services.jar and try to bypass Sony signature check for installing apps which
are not meant to be for our device.
Some of the app from new Xperia (Z1s and similar are not installing after moving into system with correct permission
after installing this mod it will enable the user to use app with out any problems.
Basically we are trying to find a way to build themes for 4.3 without Sony signatures or keys.
Services.jar is patched and it'll skip signature check when you are trying to install any app.
WHAT YOU NEED :
1. ROOTED AND DEODEXED JB (4.3) FIRMWARE 290
INSTALLING:
1. EXTRACT THE ZIP AND MOVE services.jar WITH R W W PERMISSION (0644) TO SYSTEM / FRAMEWORK ...
2. YOUR DEVICE WILL RESTART AND OS WILL UPGRADE ALL APPS (that's normal when you replace jar files
CREDITS
@Metallijim - for great idea how to bypass Sony security check.
@niaboc79 - for teaching me many stuff and help every time I need help.

no problem
i can't decompile your services.jar,
all my tools can't find classes.dex
but the file is there
*edit*
now is all ok,
i have made a mistake :silly:
*2nd edit*
is the same like mine
the only difference is the size of the file.
yours is 2.80mb,
my from the ihackers rom is just 1.32mb
That's good
That could mean mine is O.K... Haha...
It's very simple to patch so I really can't see what could be wrong

I'll add another file in the link (framework.jar)
Both files should be moved to system/framework with right permissions (instructions are in OP).
If someone who is using NUT ROM could add that files to his/her system and try to install MODed theme

I am on NUT's rom. But you said in the OP that it works in deodexed roms. And i think NUT's rom isn't deodexed yet. Am i right?
And i couldn't find the link for "framework. jar".

Link is one and both files are there.
Use only services.jar.
Yeah...you should have deodexed ROM, you could try - but it's recommended you have deodexed ROM.

Mate, you saw this?

It would be great to get system dump and try to port that systemUI and settings.apk.

@funky0308, I hate this new UI. I like this UI what is now. If Sony give us this ugly UI, I will stay on 4.3 This is my opinion and don't take it seriously

@Vaith
Mate - you don't know how much I agree with you
SonyUI is the best UI I ever saw and I would like to have that on everything.
I should receive Omate TrueSmartwatch and first thing I'm planning to do is MOD UI (Android 4.2.2) to be similar to Sony UI.
I found this quick settings convenient and nice but it absolutely need more Sony touch.
I don't like CM look.
I'm using Xperia Z theme on my Nexus 7

I'm not sure...
It could work but I can't guarantee that 100%...
Make backup and try...
If it won't work I'll make another one but for now there's no need for patched services.jar in ROM.
Custom themes will work only on stock based ROMS and they are already patched.

I'm on nut's Rom new firmware. I´ve tried ,but I've got a bootloop.

if not you became a bootloop

Well it depends on many things but generally speaking - yes, we'll have to patch it again.
If system update doesn't update framework files, it's just visual fix - then, of course, old framework files should work.
But in this case, Sony changed them so we must patch services.jar from 136.
I'm using 290 - and I'm not planning to go to 136 - just can't find a reason why should I.
I was using 136 for a few days and everything is absolutely the same (for me) except Tapatalk works terrible.
I'll flash new OS when we get something better...

Description:
This changes your battery icon to a more simple white one. Nothing more. This will work on all current roms. Once 4.4 rolls out, this won't work. I'll update it then.

I'm not responsible if you're phone blows up, bricks, or anything like that.
Instructions:
1. Download ZipThemer - https:// play.google.com/store/apps/d...ipthemer&hl=en
2. Download the "aooga_z1_battery.zip" file
3. At right upper corner push the 3 dot settings access icon and choose "Update Edify".
4. Verify your device is listed. It should be auto-selected.
5. Push "Browse" and select a flashable file that you have on your phone (choose the rom zip file or gapps zip file for example) but not my file.
5. Next click "Configure". You should get the toast message "Success".
6. Go back one page and then tap "+Theme" button.
7. Then use the green arrow to go and search to find "aooga_z1_battery.zip"
8. On the next screen you should see a check next to Z1 Battery.
9. Press the "Build It" button.
10. You will then be prompted to create a flashable "undo" file to revert the changes (may be a wise suggestion).
11. The app will then build the flashable files (One an update .zip and the other is undo .zip. Then the app will go to a Build Log screen.
12. You can now reboot into your recovery and flash the "Z1_battery-update.zip" or the "Z1_Battery-undo.zip" as you need to. (Note: This name might vary, but it will always say "update" or "undo" at the end of the name.)
13. Enjoy!

Awesome mod. But did not worked with my Tablet Z. I suppose because it is 320 DPI (XHDPI), and not 480 DPI (XXHDPI). Could you make something for that?

Sent, but not 100% sure it will work. The tablet Z might have different file names. If it doesn't work, send me your systemui.apk.
Quick question. How many people would want this the 4.4? IMO, that battery icon is incredibly ugly.
Hi! Are you planning a release for Android 4.4? This icon look way better than the stock one.

Yeah I am. I didn't realize that people actually wanted it since no one replied. Zip themer seems to be having issues on 4.4, but I can send it to a few people to see if it works.
PM me if you want to test it. (Anyone)
