Since I've flashed TeamEOS or KatKiss I noticed that the volume in many apps (youtube, games etc) is very low.
Is there a way to boost the volume?
I've already tried KAT Tool with max profile but volume is only a little bit louder and "volumebar-overlay" (displayed on screen when changing volume) does not work proberly (installed latest KAT Tool on KatKiss 225).

What signal volume number from the Kat app do you see? Is it max at 63 or lower? Is it lower than press more times at volume up until it is at 63 or the sound level you want.
Speakers showing 63/63

Did you tap the FM34 DSP Reinit button in Kat App?. That help me sometimes when I have the same issue

Seems to be a litte bit better now. Is this a permanent solution?
Is there maybe a better solution?
Hopefully I have soon 10 posts to submit the problem with the volume bar in dev-thread.
Al
Hi Al, If you look at the KAT KISS and KAT App threads in the dev section (Yes, I know it's a lot to read) you will see that this is something that comes up periodically. I believe that the general consensus is that if the DSP looses it's mind and volume drops then just re-init and off you go. It only takes me a second to reinit. It usually happens to me when I'm watching video and I pause and go do something else then go back to video.
As soon as I have 10 posts I'll request that the audio-settings will be integrated in katkiss-rom.
BTW: do you have the volumebar-overlay-problem too after installing kat app?
Al
Some off topic: are the captchas on posting only for new members or are they needed all the time?
Found the answer of my offtopic question: Also, you must fill out a CAPTCHA in order to post as long as you have fewer than 10 posts.

Hi, Not sure what you are referring to with the volume bar overlay problem? Can you be a bit more specific? There are several small idiosyncrasies with the whole volume thing. Thanks

After installing KAT APP the volumebar overlay (small displayed bar when changing volume) does not work proberly.
No matter if I change volume up or down the bar jumps everytime back to 100%.

I unchecked the cascade button. I get about 10 or 11 different levels from 0-63, just not all 63. I had issues with Talk/Hangout notifications muting it when if get a message.

I've tried to set the volume to 0 (according to kat app).
In range 0 - 12 the volumebar works fine but kat app displays 0 in notificationbar.
All levels above 11 or 12 are displayed correctly in notification bar but volumebar shows 100%.
Al
The reason for this is that the Android volume bar only has 12 positions and cannot be easily redone for 63.
This is one reason why I turned off the Cascasde levels. I still get the same loudness of volume, but in 12 increments (levels on the KAT 0-63 scale):
0
5
10
15
20
25
31
36
42
47
52
58
63
And then the Android Volume Bar works "normal" where it is all the way to the right when it is loudest. I do not feel the need to have 64 different levels of volume myself.
I also don't need all 63 levels in volumebar.
Where can I disable the cascade levels?
Al
In the KAT app, Audio Tab.
Untick the box that says something about cascading the analog and digital levels.
Looks good - I'll try this.
Al
Yup. Have that "issue". I just got used to it and use me ear to judge volume level. Sorry but I dont know of a fix.

It's my understanding all custom ROM's have the low volume issue...and the KatKiss/Katapp helps alleviate some of it. But even so, not as loud as the original/native TF101 rom. Unchecking Cascade helped eliminate the confusion and sudden volume increaments, but still kinda low when compared to native.
However, now one of my speakers has completely died....after limping along for many months by a well placed finger flick on the speaker to bring it back.
So now it's headset for me, or the new external Bluetooth speaker i bought a couple days ago for $34

I've tried googling tf101 speaker replacement...just seemed kinda lengthy a wait for the parts delivery and a price that could be put to better use saving for the next tablet.

My TF had a DOA speaker when I got it, I bought the replacement set from asusparts.eu, it took a long time to arrive, more like months than weeks iirc, but it got here and its been working since
http://www.asusparts.eu/en/partfinder/Asus/Pad/Eee%20pad/TF101#Speaker
Just checked the site and it looks like they either have none in stock or are not selling speakers now
The speaker would work when I pressed on the tiny cone, so looked to me as if the wire had snapped from the coil somewhere inside the speaker
EDIT -
£30 but will likely arrive a fair bit quicker

I love this ROM but ever since I upgraded it it won't recognize my headphones. I want to know what I can do to fix this cause I really love the ROM And don't want to flash nothing else on my tf 101

As you can see, i'm new to this forum. Until now i've used a Samsung Galaxy Spica and got my custom roms from samdroid..another forum rules...
I own a Nexus S, flashed with CyberGR-MOD v.12 + Air Kernel v4.2.
The first problem is the in call volume. I've searched the forum and did not found a similar solution to other samsung phones (service mode), only programs that doesn't seem to work.
What have i noticed is that, when i'm making a call, the volume slider doesn't go to the last step. Using the buttons i can go only to the 5 of 6 steps and if i try to move the slider using the touchscreen, the slider is jumping to te 6th step and then back to the 5th. And the volume is to low... Can this be repaired somehow?
Another question...Can i play videos encoded as mkv 720p??? With no overclocking, the image is laggy? and if i overclock to 1200 or 1400 mhz (i've tried even with 15mV voltage increase) my phone is freezing. Am i trying the impossible or what? The overclocked phone is freezing only when i try to watch the 720p mkv.
Thanks for your answers and excuse my english.
the in call volume bug is a known bug of aokp rom which cybergr rom has parts of. I think the workaround is just to unlink volumes in sound settings

...that's the solution for jumping slider.
What about some hack to boost in-call volume? Meltus, the creator of Volume+, made a program that addes a line to build.prop making up to 100 steps to volume slider. Is there any code that could be added to build.prop or somewhere else to boost in-call volume?
I've found that with other than Air Kernel mkv720p videos doesn't crash the phone, but the image is also laggy. At least the phone stays on.
Another problem...or not...
WIFI turns itself ON. I've spotted this behavior using trinity kernel, who torned on wifi or data. Now i'm using matr1x and, from time to time, i see that wifi is turned on when i wake up the phone.
It's true that i saw this behavior when i was around known hotspots, but still, maybe i don't want wifi to turn on by itself...
Any solution?
I installed an unofficial version of cm 10 that was linked by someone here in one of the forums, named "cm-10-20120816-d2vzw.zip", other than NFC (which I don't care about), everything works, even mms, I have cwm 6.0.1.2, and aosp kernel, so no kernel required. It runs VERY smooth, I've been using it instead of TW for a few days now, and happy with it. Anyway, when I get calls, every time, the in-call volume shows low, but it's at its loudest possible, I have to click higher, then lower to get it under control. I have installed volume+, but that doesn't really seem to have any effect on any volume anyway, but regardless, this resets on EVERY call, I don't think volume+ would cause that. It resets again for the next call even if I lower it of the previous calls. Does anyone know a fix? Any way to get the in call volume setting to stick? All other volume settings are remembered, why not this? It's so out someone walking by 50 ft away could hear the phone (not speakerphone) clearly. Really need help with this!
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Hey everyone...I'm fairly new to flashing ROMs and Kernels onto my trusty dusty TF101. I've got the EOS4 b93 JB 4.2.1 with Kat Kernel lidpatch 80b. Unfortunately, I'm having an issue where my sound disappears and it won't come back without a reboot...and after that, it is hit and miss how long it'll last.
I've installed KAT Audio v1.24 but I really didn't find it as useful...other than the sound reinitialization button being available. I adjust my volume often and found I was just fighting the app to change my volume. I use my tablet as my alarm clock so toggle the volume modes via Audio Manager Pro...from Regular to Mute. My Mute setting has my alarm volume up so I can obviously hear it when it goes off. Sometimes I listen to things through the speaker, so the volume needs to be at my default setting...sometimes I listen with headphones and I lower it... The Kat Audio app caused all sorts of issues and I just couldn't figure out how to use it when I want to change my volumes. (much respect and appreciation for Tim Duru for taking the time to come up with a very powerful app for the community).
So...sound is important to me and I'd like to be able to control it, use it, etc. Is there a kernel that has better audio chip support that doesn't cut out? I've heard Guevors worked better for people, but am unsure if I can flash it over my current kernel. Any advice in this area would be much appreciated.
Hi guys,
I'm wondering if anyone out there who has a Sony Smartwatch 2 can install this app (there is a free version also somewhere), install Poweramp on their actual Android device and tell me from the watch what kind of volume increments they are?
The volume rocker buttons on smartphones generally increase at 10% a push, smaller (but more fiddly) increments can be done via touch interface sliders/knobs etc, but seeing as the Sony Smartwatch would be the actual controller for volume I am curious to know what jumps it makes.
Cheers,
Dunker
Hi
I have the SW2, a paid version of Poweramp on my phone and the free version on my watch. It works good, start/stop - next/last song - FForward/FBackwards - up/down volume. Only a bit of lag from time to time. The watch even shows the picture if your MP3 has one.
Concerning volume there are 10 steps on the watch so it's the same as on the phone: 10% per push.

That's disappointing to hear, I'm used to 2.5% increments (0-40), I might have been able to live with 5% but that's kinda bare minimum.
Thank you for letting me know, I will contact the developer, see if he might give an option in settings to change increment scale, u never know, but as it is this is a deal breaker for me. Odd i know, but i am odd so there u go lol
I'm afraid that even if the developer creates more increments, the lag between the watch and the phone will make it hard to use. I tested it before I gave you the answer and the volume "rocker" is the one that reacts the least reliable; all the others work better.
BTW, I use the SW2 with a Note 2 under JB 4.1.2. (full stock, no root)

Interesting to hear such lag, I wouldn't have expected that much. I'm guessing they communicate via bluetooth?
Yes the watch only connects by BT but the lag is not so surprising as I have this with all BT connections I use. In my car I sometimes use my Note 2 as a MP3 Player through BT and when I want to jump a song, it is never instantly and it takes a second or so to react.
Same with the Sony BT headphones I have. I can jump songs etc. but there always is a short moment before the phone reacts.
I consider this "lag" as normal

i think it has more to do with 'wait' command? like some devices have only one button to use. if you press it once it play/pause, press twice - next song, press three times - previous song. if button would respond immediately it always play/pause. but it could be poorly written as well..
Possible but all the diveces I use have (more or less) individual buttons. I think it's just the process: create command, send command, interpret and execute, that takes time.

Hi, as everyone know, there are 3 different volume in our nexus 5.
First is Music, video, games & other media.
Second: Ringtone & notification.
Third: Alarm.
Usually if I'm in class, I would press the volume down button until I'm at vibration mode. Then sometimes when I got bored in class and start playing with my phone, the volume will be very loud when i forgot to turn off the sound for games when i was looking at some youtube video or playing some games.
This is really annoying. What's the point of changing to silent mode when there is still volume at the games or video? I know iphone have the toggle for silent mode and that is seriously way useful than this.
You can always install expandable volume controls via xposed or custom ROM.
I know it is frustrating and an overlooked feature I think. When I first got my nexus 5 I was like come on guys you didn't fix this?

Yeah I have the same issue with the sound on this like the OP. Been using 3rd part apps like Llama and Silent Scheduler to quickly change/view sound settings from notification drawer. Works well but I wish something like this built in the OS.

Have you ever run into a bug where you set a task to change the media volume to 8 or higher automatically, upon connecting headphones? It seems half the time it gets stuck at 6 or 7, presumably because the volume level warning message never gets its chance to show up.

No actually I haven't had a chance to program tasker that much yet. The only task I have set for it so far is to play the TF2 medic sound byte "I am fully charged!" when my battery level gets 100% when charging
I know this isn't quite the answer your looking for as far as just turning the volume down to disable all sounds but just some suggestions... I use expandable volume control and You could go into settings/profile and set a quiet profile or go to settings/sounds and set quiet hours.
