I have been flashing and playing different roms for awhile now but I have noticed that my phone is running out of space so quickly these days. The internal sd card is full and my external sd card has a little space but that's it, and the phone won't do updates or new downloads due to the internal card being full.
I was wondering, I want to go back to using CM10 again on this Blaze with the latest gapps, but I want to wipe EVERYTHING and start fresh, I have backed things using wondershares mobilego (as well as a manual backup of both sd cards, internal and external).
Can someone give me a good medthod on wiping it all, system, cache, dalvik, internal sd card and external sd card and doing a fresh install of cm10 and gapps.
Thanks in advance
Download the latest cm10 nightly and 4.1.2 gapps from the official cm10 thread to your external SD card.
Boot to cwm and go to mounts, and format:
System
Data
Cache
Emmc
Do all of them several times.
Go to advanced and wipe davlik cache a couple times too.
Then install the cm10 zip followed by the gapps. Wipe cache and davlik one more time. You can format the external SD card any time later, after you verify boot (suggested). You can use a PC or the built in format under settings/storage.

Wouldn't I also need to do format /sdcard several times as well to format the internal sd and then after I am all done I can do the format /sd-ext to format the external sd card? Which if I format the sd-ext it won't hurt anything I did for the install of CM and gapps right?
By the way, thanks for your help I appreciate it
You can format the external a couple times. Sometimes things get left behind, that's why in suggested the multiple wipes. You don't have to worry about SD ext, the partition will get wiped when the external SD card is formated. If you didn't create the partition there's nothing to worry about. I wouldn't format the emmc (internal SD card) after installing a rom as some of it is used.

Thanks again, I did as stated above then booted up, made sure all worked fine then went back into cwm and formatted the sd card (not the sd-ext). I am now putting some music and photos back on the sd card so I have them with me. Latest CM10 Nightly from the 4th seems to freeze a little bit when trying to do things on my Blaze, maybe I just need to reboot it again after I move the stuff over.
Thanks again!
Give it a a little while to settle. If it is still giving you issues try the previous nightly from 7/28.

Part of the internal storage is cached at /cache. It caches a bunch of things, such as mount points and app usage. When you wipe cache and start over, expect things to be slower for a couple days/reboots. Then it'll settle, as was said above
Good tips Romman0. I try to do this every 4 months or so. Blackhole and FSC only make it better, but that's clearing leftovers and realigning empty blocks and messing with the filesystem and a lot of technical junk

So I went into the recovery console and selected the complete data wipe option. I then reinstalled fresh 1.1 and rebooted.
Then I signed into the phone like I knew I would have to, however after logging in, all my apps are still here!
Google voice recorder is still force closing on me and all the setings have reset.
I thought wiping the data would remove all the apps?
I'm trying to fix the voice recorder crash. I've removed it and reinstalled to no evail.
All of your apps are there because you are using Apps2SD, you'll need to format your SD card agan to get rid of them all.
I don't think I'm using Apps2SD?
I had a stock Sprint Hero, had it for several months, a couple weeks ago I rooted with Fresh Kitchen and installed 1.1. I never moved my apps or did any formating to the SD card.
Now I'm trying to wipe the data and reinstall.
Was Apps2SD installed automatically with Fresh1.1, and my apps moved and my SD Card formmated appropriately without losing my MP3's and audiobooks?
It just doesn't make sense...
Try erasing your SD Card
Backup first ..just in case
Apps2SD is done automatically if your SD card is formated with an EXT partition.
Your SD could have 3 partitions, they wouldn't be formated automatically, you would have to format it from recovery. Apps will be on a different partition than Music/books.
So if it was already partitioned then it would move them over automatically.
It might have been partitioned from when I had my G1.
I can format the extention though, and that will clear the EXT partition right?
I think I'll give that a shot then..

When you do the partition, just put Swap and EXT to 0 mb. This will make whole card FAT again.
Also I think you will have to clear your Delvic and do Data wipe again after you do this because all of the cached apps won't be there any more.
You could also drop it in the loo, that would wipe everything
Seriously though, just erase your SD card or copy its contents to your desktop and try again. Should be good.
If I want to do a clean wipe of my rooted tablet is it just a matter of clearing the cache and re-installing the ROM?
That wont clean the sd card will it?
Thanks in advance.

It won't.
To completely wipe all user data from your gTablet, boot into CWM (remove any external microSD cards first) and
a) Repartition the (internal) SD card, and
b) Format cache.
There's no need to re-install the ROM. If you do those 2 steps, above, your ROM will go back to looking like a fresh install.
Here is a link to a thread detailing the installing and running of CWM. I haven't used this particular thread yet, but will be in the next few days. I am going to install the newest gtab modified FrankenTAB build from PixelRider
Recently i have decided to change roms due to slight stability issues (i need a more stable rom for medical reasons), i decided to opt for JediX14, it looks nice, seems to have everything i would like in a rom and from what reviews ive read, seems like a near perfect rom.
However, I have tried repeatedly to install this Rom, using both Team Win and the Clockwork Mod Recoveries. Every time i install the rom, regardless of wether i select to switch the internal memory and SD card or not. When i check the storage, internal memory is always 0.00B
I'm currently working my way through the (nearly 700 pages) of replies from the JediX14 thread.
Using the search option, i've only found solutions for other mobiles.
My SD Card is currently FAT32, 32GB
Here are my exact steps i take, im typing this as i flash again, so i don't miss any important information, right now:
Reboot into recovery.
Factory Reset.
Wipe Internal Storage.
Wipe System.
Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Wipe Cache.
Install JediX14_Full.zip from SD card.
Wipe Dalvik Cache (again).
Fix Permissions.
Boot and leave for quater of an hour or so...
Re-boot.
If i run a restore via TWRP, my internal memory shows as normal (a little over 10 GB free).
How can i fix this?
Any help is very much appreciated, thanks in advance, again, thank you!.
Try to format it from the settings.

Hi there have a i have a sloution look at my video on youtube my channel is namz123uk i have 2 videos check both like comment n subscribe
I wiped everything on my wife's phone in recovery, including internal sdcard, and flashed BeanStalk from external sdcard. It experienced a lot of sudden reboots in seemingly any situation--updating apps, recording video, answering a call, or even just waking. I wiped and flashed again later with the same results. I didn't have time to learn how to log with ADB, so I just went with a different ROM (Dirty Unicorns) to try to get her a stable phone ASAP and it's been completely stable. The only thing I did differently was, instead of wiping the sdcard in Recovery before flash, I erased it with BeanStalk before going into recovery.
I'm wondering if it's possible the internal sdcard partition wasn't set up right the first time since I just did a wipe?
Now that, I think about it, I didn't check the BS's md5 once it was on the card since the phone's USB connection is limited to MTP. Later with DU, I had the idea to put the card in a USB card reader and check md5 that way. So there's a chance the BS zip might have been broken.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3113 (used to have jellybean 4.2.2.) and flashed the Resurrection Remix custom ROM and GAPPS on it. It's fantastic and running great!!!
The tablet came with 8 GB of space and I have a 32 GB sd card in it. I keep getting "not enough space" warnings from my SD card even though it's almost empty. I can't install any apps to the sd card, and there is not enough internal memory to store them either. This makes the tablet almost as useless as before I rooted and put a custom rom. Is there a way to get my sd card to stop thinking it's full/ allow apps to move over to it? Is the next step to partition the sd card and then use an app like link2sd? I've never done it before. Please advise, thank you.
Try clearing dalvik cache

Thank you, I did that already and it made no difference.
You can try transferring the data on the sdcards to some other place and then you can try formatting them through recovery

The ROM and data are in separate partitions. It sounds like you didn't wipe your data when you flashed a ROM with a different version of Android. So , the data partition is still full with your old data and the apps that are installed there are inaccessible by the system. You need to go to recovery and wipe data, but not the sd card, and not internal memory. I don't believe a factory reset will help since it seems the system already can not see the partition the apps are installed on now.
