Questions and feedback are appreciated! Thanks for looking.

Great job and progress! I will flash and try to work on what is causing the camera / camcorder issue. I'd say there is some firmware that is missing that may be needed for it to work. Appreciate the hard work and the great job you are doing! Keep it up!!
**Edit: Just checked those patches needed for the compile and seen they all related to the camera functionality on the device. I haven't checked the device tree yet to see what changes are needed to get a fully functional rom but I will be trying to help work on straightening the problems out with you

I hope this project turns out well. My brother just got the phone because he missed physical keyboards. I'll definitely try it when the Camera is working.

Thanks a lot for continue to support our phone. Very used to a physical keyboard and do not want to change the phone.
I hope will soon be able to use CM 10.1
Great job!

hey, you are doing great a work in this forum! Thank you.
But, are you going to maintain your "releases", especially this one?. And how about black gapps for this rom?

lets see maybe not every rom and for the next few months ( the development of 4.2.2 has a stop someday)
as i know you need no inverted gapps because of the dark carbon switch (invention of slimrom team)
sorry not all is inverted like the playstore
Just my first impression: the rom looks promissing. However, I've had some FCs (Gmail, Settings). 3D works miserably. Have you included the new driver? TTS starts working after replacing the audio_policy.conf file with the old version.

ok thats good :good:
yes the 3D driver and you can flash this zip it is for all roms but i think tomorrow i make a new version too many things which annoying me
i was to eager to release it :cyclops: thats not good
i have to learn to do full things and not half
but i think voip breaks then
no it was the old drivers but the toolchain have also some influence on the rom
edit: here a nice video about the linaro toolchain optimization on a pandaboard Linaro improvements to Android 4.0.4 performance on the Pandaboard TI -YOUTUBE

No problem: I don't use VOIP. Seriously: you may leave it as is and add information in the OP what to do when one needs TTS instead of VOIP.
I'll leave this rom on my phone for further testing.
EDIT: I've flashed 3D driver. Graphics looks much better. AnTuTu failed finishing OpenGL test at first attemp. I run it again, and everything went well. Of course benchmark score increased at once from 4401 to 5695 (1401 MHz/ondemand/row).

Presenting you LiquidSmooth for Sensation

[CENTER][SIZE="7"]Important[/SIZE]
Since I'm getting some pm's about rom related things these days, some info here.
I don't work on the rom itself, so I can't/won't fix any rom related bugs (e. g. wrong translations).
I use ivanich's kernel and device trees and I modify only the device tree, not the kernel.
If you have any questions about rom related things (features or something) search for it first.
I don't mind if people ask if they can't find something immediately, but often a quick search on google or in the forum is much faster, than posts or new threads.
If you don't have 10 posts to post in here, ask in the Q&A thread which is linked in Dev:DB bar.
And most important don't except from me to do anything just because you want it, though you can ask politely.
Thank you![/CENTER]

You're welcome
I gave this build a quick test today and had no issues, though there might be something not working.
If anyone finds something, please give me as much information as possible.
Awesome! I was thinking about making a build of this one myself. Have any opinions about it yet?

Didn't run this for very long but what I did see of it was fine, honestly can't say it did anything special. Idk much about the liquid smooth ROMs though.
Viper4Android
V4A is integrated in this ROM, but still needs installing its kernel driver. The install dialoge return an error that my busybox version is wrong.
I tried to install a new version with installer apps from play store and changing the ROM version of V4A with the one i got downloaded. The error was there on all...
For me V4A is very important(can't live without it^^), but I like the features of this ROM. Maybe will come up with a idea.
Skype problems?
Not sure whether this is related to the ROM or my phone. Haven't tried Skype since I installed Carbon ROM a month or so ago so don't know for sure it was working before, but it definitely isn't working now.
App starts and all my favs and people are there, I can even tap on one of the contacts and start a call but no sound and they don't receive the call. Also, when they try to call me it says I'm available but I don't get their call, even though it sounds like it's ringing at their end.
Anyone else tried Skype on this one?
This is definitely not a show stopper for me... love the ROM otherwise and obviously don't use Skype much! I use GrooveIP (and that works fine)

The only issue I know about skype is that while in call there might be no sound, but that can be fixed by enable and disable the speaker.
Yeah I had tried to do that but tapping the speaker button in call seems to just end the call.
I'm sure this will be fixed upline and again not a real problem for me.
Thanks

Use 3dparty app(trickster, etc.) till cm fixes that.

Well, i try many times to merge cm12 patches to omnirom, the important patches like frameworks/av/base/native which contain fix for camera and other features but without result, omni framework's based on pure aosp so i can't merge cm12 patches because frameworks are not compatible if frameworks/base code's patch are not match with source i can't do anymore, anyway I will release SlimLP for our phone in this days, i was planning to do that last week but i have issue with my machine.
P.S. : i do a "half" port of Ubuntu Touch by getting shell access to the device, taking blank screenshots and also internal sdcard has been recognized without problem, the only issue to fix is broadcom gpu to boot up as well, if any dev are interesting we can port utouch

You patch your sources properly like sony says in it's official guide, search the ROM's github to see if they use custom frameworks, hardware layers etc..you have to patch some things up to get everything working!
Also you have to change some things in device configuration (like the NFC hal name )
You can edit the post and explain the bugs and known issues
how to install? etc etc

Ok what about trying to fix some bugs this time? You do a great job building all these roms but you dont actually test or do proper "porting",I'll try to help!

oh man, i dont patch anything...except a few minor things, this really goes smooth like knife through butter
i admit, cm isnt working (12/13), pac6, rr6, with Benevolent and with Sony vendor files...
honestly, i dont care about nfc (ok, a working camera would be nice but thats out of my league)...i just share what i built, roms that are acceptably ok, noone shared a rom since 11.2015 so, here are some toys to play with

So you share a rom that can work better and you dont care to fix it?! Man..i remember you saying "I wanna learn more about the build system and how android is built" what happened?!

Do you know of any tool that thedevelopers use? Right now, all that I use is a text editor and google search for eliminating errors. Some kind of an IDE, that would make navigating the source code easier?
Omg RR rom [emoji38] but look you cant make camera work,i will wait until it work )

I don't know anything android specific, but a good IDE is geany
BTW i use a text editor too (pluma)
I'm syncing sources right now (using the lollipop5.1 branch of rr) hope we use the same
Let's focus on this ROM for a while

yeah, it is on my phone right now, seems good, gave up AOKP, had to give up of some rom, I had too many on my disk. But replaced it with aosp from SonyAosp. (its uploading right now, aosp6)
i use gedit as my IDE
So ok, you mentioned something about fixing the roms that i'm posting. What exactly should i do, what to look for? Performance, light/proximity sensors?
Are some of those .so files from the stock rom (that should be in the vendor folder) + stock kernel the key to making camera, sensors etc. work in any rom?

For GPS,sensor was not working on DU6 you uploaded, the reason is that you didn't patch it like this https://github.com/omnirom/android_hardware_qcom_gps/commit/2b112bb17f7a76247d135bcae6ae87e56f4ec054
For performance,I've seen ZRAM commit on sony's github,I'll try it today and post the results
NFC works on Lollipop roms (dont try on MM it needs a new blob) but you have to use the correct naming in the device config (libnfc-brcm.conf)
Omni6 uses
Code:
NCI_HAL_MODULE="nfc_nci"
but CM12.1
Code:
NCI_HAL_MODULE="nfc_nci.pn54x"
(I'm not sure on that... @galaxyfreak knows for sure)

Yes but it's not that simple, you have to use CAF frameworks too

as for the performance, all the roms seems pretty smooth (LP & MM). As for the NFC, because I dont care about it, I dont even think about it, I just uninstall it on the first boot (maybe i should even remove it from the manifest)
One thing I noticed is that all of the roms lack the proximity and light sensor, i dont know if it is a kernel issue or maybe device tree/hardware issue (sorry, i still struggle with the terminology...device tree is the device/sony/eagle, right? under vendor folder are prebuilt 'blobs', something analogous to .dll files in windows?)
And about that Omni/CM naming, where did you find that info, I even read some info for qcom/arm/cortex, the cpu/hardware things (seemed too much to me), does one need to know the details of the inner workings of the phone's hardware in order to fix bugs?

I won't argue with you on the NFC thing I just like to have things-features working if they can work
You are correct on the terminology. Also you have to know at least how each rom works,HAL naming, flags etc
The AOSP project has simplified building and porting to new roms like A LOT! Only minor things have to changed each time...
BTW,syncing almost done...can you plz share the local manifest/sources you used for build rr-lp?

NOOOO, NO WAY, OF COURSE NOT, THEY ARE MINE, THEY ARE PROPRIETARY!!!!
(ok ok here it is)
i experiment a lot but this is the manifest i used during building the posted RR5 rom. I'm not even sure if I need those qcom/common, media, display etc. Roms seem to build fine without them. SonyCM has some Init, I have no idea if it helps, as you can see, i'm just building blindly but it works
as you could see with pacrom, it is messy....the second half is remove-project, to help sync less (also use "repo sync ..... --depth=1", it helps a lot to keep the source at minimum)
And what do you think, is there a chance for the camera working in a MM rom since there isnt even a sony stock MM rom for M2? Or should we consider changing the phone?

[GUIDE] How to get DTS Eagle on non-supported kernels

The DTS Port has been released publicly is available from the following link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/port-dtsx-ultra-dts-headphonex-t3896233
There are kernel patches still necessary (for both ports) and the new guide is here:
https://gitlab.com/dts_project/intro/blob/master/README.md

Used msm8998 for sdm660. Seems to be working fine so far. Thanks.
How to get it?
How to install on SD821?
Oneplus3T?
Actually we haven't released the kernel and stuff, yet. I'm working with those guys on it and we have a first beta Kernel running on my device, which is also a OP 3t. By now, it will be just for OxygenOS Oreo.

OP3/T is MSM8996. Just pick the commits into your kernel source.
We are actually changing some stuff to get this fully running. We have already one kernel DTS eagle is fully working. Hopefully more devs will implement the driver.
Thanks for posting and porting this!
I know you guys are still working on fleshing out the commits for this, but as-is on the OP3 I needed to make a change in order for it actually compile the new dts_eagle_drv.o module and work:
https://github.com/holyangel/OP3/commit/c8b84a701fdcf82dc725beaaa40f740b13e84f7a
Basically was missing sourcing the dts_eagle/Kconfig file in drivers/misc/Kconfig, and had to remove the 'depends on CONFIG_SND_SOC_QDSP6V2' as i'm its not seeing that option during build time.
Once that was done it compiles and works great :good:

Take a look at the repo. @LazerL0rd force pushed new commits with the fix.
Will this work on SD625??
using this on hima "LineageOS 15.1 Unoffical" and "AICP 13.1 Official". Works great so far!

sound/soc/msm/Kconfig
14:config SND_SOC_QDSP6V2
It's there alright. I fixed the other issues with a force-push btw.
@Claymore1297 @crian @HolyAngel another update has been pushed - I've joined the normal naming and folder placement scheme of the Linux Kernel and therefore have decided to move the Kconfig and dts_eagle folder to under drivers/misc/qdspv2 (well the Kconfig was added to drivers/misc/Kconfig as there is no child Kconfig for this folder)

There's no way you will know except you test it yourself. Pick 8996 commits, btw.

Need, not really. Should have, yes. The module for that still isn't public yet because it's in beta. Join the ICESOUND group on TG for an show public version.
Kernel stuff works tho.
I'm on Omnidragon, the devs implemented DTS Eagle in kernel. As this an 'always on feature' I was wondering how this works/interferes with mods like v4a or James DSP?

Works fine, it's just an addition to the many audio effects Android has. The kernel stuff is just a backend and allows it to be integrated deeply into the system.
