Newbee 70 and not to good with technology
we have an old HTC Legend , we have been through the methods of rooting and connecting to the computer but we cannot find a simple one click method , has anybody got any ideas that may help.
We have just tried to make a usb connection and cant fin drivers ,the HTC site is not helpfull with downloads.

Not sure what method you used to root but the only thing I could see that was as close to one click at it looks like this phone will have is in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680584 Sorry that is where my knowledge ends, I was only passing by I dont own an htc legend or any htc phone for that matter. I suugest reading through the whole thread then go back to post 3 and follow the instructions carfully. In one of the links in post three I believe there are correct drivers too. Good luck.

This must be a very dumb issue but an issue nevertheless and I can't find anywhere an answer to my dumb problem.
I am using my laptop to run RSD lite and other programs to flash some phones and I cannot get my computer to read them as COM ports.
I instaled drivers but nothing.
I am not a technician (obviously ) but I have been very good with computers and usually find my way around, but not now !
My V3M is recognized as a Modem in com 16 but RSD won't read it.
Samsung nothing...
No problem with my HTC or TREO... and pretty much got stuck on this!!
Can someone please give me a quick lesson on what I have to do to get the correct drivers for these and other phones, to install them and have them working correctly with RSD and other programs??

i don't know how helpful that will be.... i realy don't know alot about motorola phones, this is an htc wesite so most people on here will only know how to mess with htc

Im working on rooting my new HTC Inspire and I can't even get started thanks to driver issues. I think I found a solution but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I downloaded the drivers from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352 but I have no clue where to put them. If someone could help me out that would be great!

Congrats, you've located the relevant post in the thread that tells you, very explicitly, not to do what you did. First question: did you read the rest of that thread after messing up your phone? (I'm guessing you didn't do it beforehand, though it would have been smart to at least read the first post...)
There is a solution. It involves what's called a Gold Card and will probably cost you some money for the parts (people have been saying ~$20). Try doing a search on that term. It may be easier to search using an external engine (Bing or Google) rather than the built-in one on the forum (use site:xda-developers.com to search this site using an external engine). Alternatively, you could also search for 'fix "half bricked"' or similar.

yes that was unsmart thing that i read only 1 or 2 post but now i feel too bad that at least i need to read that threads 1 page and not use that one....
now i have searched and read many threads on xda site , what i found there is no solution for htc t8788 surroung half bricked phones..
please can u give me link or guide about how to fix this half bricked issue ? of my phone please really will helpful ??

Hello,, I have an alcatel one touch evolve 2 and I can not absolutely for the life of me find a place to download the drivers required for it to be detected on my computer for an attempt to root it. already tried rooting it without computer and it doesn't work. I have tried every non computer root apk. there is. If anyone knows a place to download the required driver for an ALCATEL ONE TOUCH EVOLVE 2 running on 4.4.2 please help me out. Thank you.

So, I went to the link and downloaded the drivers. Everything it asked me to download. Yet my computer doesn't recognize my phone. I don't know what else to do. I stay up all night researching this. Nothing works. If anyone can tell me how to make my computer recognize it, it would be great. Universal driver links. anything for my computer to recognize it. Can't think of anything.
Please use that thread and ask directly there for more relevant answers.

I recently bought an unlocked att htc one m7 and am currently using it on tmobile. After messing with the apn settings i got all the data and mms working, but i still cant figure out how to upgrade it. I downloaded the RUU from htc and tried running that but whenever it starts up the bootloader i will get an error and it will say usb malfunction and then nothing. I also tried to load the rom itself onto the phones root, but when i boot in recovery mode i will select to flash from internal and it will quickly load a few short lines of code that go too fast to read (i think it says failed) and then reboot instantly. Ive been at this for hours and cant find this particular problem anywhere. If anyone can help me, i just want the normal unmodded updates without unlocking my bootloader or turning s-off. Im running android 4.1.2 currently
