Needed Vodap102 ruu or OTA - HTC One SV

Hi all...
My friend has softbricked his K2_UL, it has CID VodaP102.
It doesn't have unlocked bootloader, neither S-Off, so he can't change CID, so where can it be downloaded??
Best regards

Hi.
I'll have a look but I don't think there is any. Which country is the phone from ?
How did the "softbrick" happen since it's neither unlocked or S-OFF ?
Did it use to be unlocked ? Is there a custom recovery installed ?
What are the symptoms ?

The phone is from Vodafone germany
I have no idea how he bricked it, but no it has never been unlocked, neither S-OFF, and does not have a custom recovery
It only boots to fastboot mode

First you can try a factory reset from downloader/fastboot.
If that doesn't work ask for more details on how it stopped working and if he really really wasn't doing anything with it when it stopped working. That seems really odd.
If it really is the case he can bring it back to vodaphone since it's under warranty.

If the phone really is S-On and was never unlocked, this is the first way to go!

[Q] HTC's "official" bootloader unlock process

Please please forgive the newb question, but once the bootloader is officially unlocked by HTC's method (basically entering a token you pull from your phone, and then flashing a .bin file they send you based on that token), is it reversible? I.E. is it possible to re-lock it back to factory status? I'm assuming not, but can't find any hard evidence one way or the other...
Apparently someone has said you can re-lock it but I've not used it. Better using Revolutionary IMO
Well you can do a "simple" re-lock just to ensure noone else can make changes to it with "fastboot oem lock" - but it's not the factory lock. The bootloader simply says "re-locked" instead of "unlocked", or compared to the factory "locked".
But I was thinking in terms of reverting it truly back to factory status. Again, I don't think it's possible (without HTC's intervention anyway), given the nature of how it was locked, but need someone smarter than me to confirm that suspicion.
So basically, using Super CID, you can run the RUU.exe from the bootloader only, and get your phone back to 100% stock, but it'll still be unlocked. So I'm guessing there is no way to reverse HTC's unlock process.

I flashed the android revolution rom with my device unlocked through htc website, I cannot flash back to stock, I tried the RUU to bring me back to 1.27 and 1.29 and error'd on both of those. I am not sure how to get back to stock. I tried several times. I also cannot get my security to turn off in the bootloader after I unlocked through htc. Has anyone figured out how to do this? I tried the revoltionary.io tool and successfully used the tool only to reboot and see the S-ON in bootloader mode. CRAZY I suggest for anyone to turn their S-OFF using revolutionary.io before they ever attempt to unlock the bootloader through htc. What I am experiencing is error under the wifi switch I cannot seem to get wifi working with any of the roms, probably due to the kernel or not having s-off in bootloader. I tried different and stock kernels only to have the same problem.

Has ANYBODY tried the goldcard method to reflash to stock? Take the rom.zip from RUU and flash in bootloader
So ive gone back to stock htc orange ROM with the CID ORANG001 and i am now also S-On after being on ARHD, after probelms with the phone in case i need to send it back, so by the looks of what you are saying I am not actually back to factory status? So will HTC be able to tell in the case that i have to send it back fro repair or whatever? If so i also need to know how to re lock and get back to complete factory status!?
EDIT: im pretty sure bootloader was already available on the phone, and my firends incredible s, he is able to access bootloader without doing anything to his phone
Gold card doesn't work, otherwise we could've used it before S-OFF

Where is this CID ORANG001 you are referring to? Do you have a link? And as far as I know you can unlock the bootloader but there is currently no true relock.

[Q] Sending Sensation back for repair - Warranty Q

So my Sensation was S-Off and rooted however it started to play up so went back to S-On and Un-rooted, HBOOT now reads ****Locked**** and S-On. Is this all I need to do, does something more need to be done, will they be able to tell? They said on the phone if warranty is voided then I must incur the cost of fixing it..
Id really appreciate your help guys.

Hi, i am sending mine back tomorrow as well.
Do I have to put it back to S-ON? I've heard its risky.
Best to, and it's not risky if you follow the guide to a T
Make sure you've set the CID back to what it should be before doing it (assuming you changed it in the first place)
Hey, it looks like mine's going back as well.
I'm a little unsure of which version HTC rom was default on it because I bought it from Pixmania and not a carrier.
It originally had Vodafone branding and the box is written in German.
I don't think I've changed off of the original kernel or radio as I've only switched roms through ROM Manager since I rooted the phone using these instructions.
-ANkh
I too am wondering the same thing, but my problem is slightly different. My phone wont even power on so i was unable to s-on factory rom it, im unsure of what exactly needs to be replaced on the phone so idk if theyre gonna be able to see that the software has been changed.
Hi again,
I found my CID: VODAP102, it's for Vodafone Germany.
Where can I find the matching stock ROM?
Thanks,
ANKh

Uhoh, i didn't change the CID back but I did S-ON...
Will they notice if its just a hardware repair?
Too late now, I guess I will find out...
Okay, my Sensation is ready to go for repairs:
I found an old HTC_Pyramid_Vodafone_DE RUU here.
I installed it. And updated... and updated... and updated...
Because I still had my original cid I was able to get my phone into fastboot and "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3".
Now my phone is running a stock rom with locked bootloader and locked S-On and stock recovery.

Yes it did, HTC UK repaired the phone and converted it to a stock HTC UK phone without any German or Vodafone stuff on it anymore.
They didn't charge me anything for it.
I've send my desire s back to HTC caus of some probs with my battery.. it was rooted and s-off.. when I get it back it was s-on and unrooted.. I've paid for nothing..

I sent my Sensation back a few weeks ago because the touchscreen stopped working with S-OFF and they didn't notice and is still S-OFF now!

Put europe stock rom

Hello everybody, i've a big question for you I got an HTC One S with cid TIM__041, still locked. The installed ROM is the stock customized by my operator TIM, that's crappy without any updates, and i want to put the europe stock rom changing the cid to HTC__001 if it's needed. But i don't want to void my warranty. The device is OK, it has no problems.
How can I resolve this? Sorry for my bad english, but i'm an young italian
If you need bootloader information, here is it:
*** LOCKED ***
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.13.0000
RADIO-0.16.31501S.17_2
OpenDSP-v25.1.0.32.0405

That was only 2½ hours later, in which the USA is mostly asleep. Patience young grasshopper ..ehmm.. I mean Italian.
EDIT: I missed the AM/PM. It was 14.5 hrs like frdd correctly corrected in the post below this one. Sorry for that.
I'm not 200% sure but I don't think you can change your CID without unlocking your bootloader. Unlocking your bootloader will not completely void your warranty. It will still cover unrelated defects. Also, you can always re-lock and go back to stock afterwards, but only if you have a RUU for your phone that accepts your new HBOOT (that comes with the EU RUU).
If the 'problem' is that you want to tinker with your device but not take responsibility, then there is no solution.
-Jobo
Try 14.5 hours but yeah jobo is correct you need htcdev unlock to root and change cid
So, if I unlock the bootloader, the warranty for hardware problems will not voided? I need only to get the european stock rom, what's the best way to get it? However, i don't think putting european stock rom will void the warranty :/
Thanks for answering my topic But when I maked the topic, in USA was day. xD
Me too, though I am on T-MOB005 CID. And I don't want to exactly root my phone. So until we get S-OFF, there is no way. Just have to wait and be patient, like me. (I'm still on 1.77 and 2.21 has already been released)

So, are there no other way?
You can try to just run the 2.21.401 RUU but probably won't work.
Or you can wait for TIM to release the OTA if you're only after the new radio, your branding will still be there.
You need root to change cid, and you need htcdev unlock to root. No other way yet.
Hm..are there some news about s-off?

I decided, and now I got 2.21.401.10
I follow this steps: (thanks addsfsds)
1. Unlock, install recovery mod, root --> HOW-TO
2. Changed CID to generic (HTC__001) --> HOW-TO
3. Relocked bootloader (It's important!) --> Command: "fastboot oem lock"
4. Installed 2.21 HTC Europe RUU (includes stock recovery + stock rom) --> DOWNLOAD
5. I'm free!
You guys are saying you don't want to change your CID until S-Off is out because you don't want to unlock bootloader... Even if S-Off is out, you still have to unlock your bootloader to change CID *facepalm*
So I needed the best choice, because I need europe stock rom now.

Don't facepalm without knowing. We don't want to unlock the bootloader now because once we get S-OFF, we can S-ON back again with no traces of being S-OFF'ed. However, with HTCDev, it says ***RELOCKED*** which is a clear indication that the device has had its bootloader unlocked before. Some of use don't like to void our warranties, which is why we're waiting for S-OFF.

[Q] Flash from stock to stock without root or unlock?

Hello all,
I have bought my Htc one S (s4) in Germany.
It doesnt have a simlock and works with my dutch sim,
i assumed any phone bought in eu would support dutch as system language.
But it doesnt :S
So i need a stock rom with dutch language support or a way to add one.
Is it possible to reflash a stock rom without unlocking/rooting??
The reason why i dont want to unlock is because i also have the homescreen button problem AND if i run in fastboot modus
it says TAMPERED (I understood that the tampered message will go away after flashing new ruu)
I hope that any one can help me.

The "Tampered" will go away when reverting to stock but the best you can get is "RELOCKED" and not "LOCKED" for your bootloader.

It's not better. Maybe I should have phrased it differently.
As for warranty it all depends on the situation. I know they warn you that your warranty is void when you use HTCDev to unlock the bootloader. HTC have been good at warranty service in the past even with an unlock bootloader but that's just a personal experience. YMMV.

[REF] Dead/Bricked phone after JB OTA, QHSUSB_DLOAD

Hi All,
There are more and more reports coming in from people who ended up with a dead/bricked phone after the JellyBean Update 4.1.1 , 3.16.401.8 OTA. As you connect it to your PC you will soon find out it's in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode.
The purpose of this threat is to see how many people are affected, what people have done to attempt to recover their phone, and to find a possible solution (this chance seems rather small though).
There are alot of post about this in the JellyBean Speculation/News/Discussion threat, starting from page 157.
There are 2 threats about it in Q&A:
One S in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode
My HTC to really died
Reported attempts to recover:
QHSUSB_DLOAD Fix by team Unlimited
Unbricking HTC devices with the QHSUSB_DLOAD issue tutorial by kgs1992
Step 3 (and some others) from [TUT] Downgrade/Unbrick Ville S4
Another HTC one V recover guide where i can't find the link for.
Please report here if you have this issue. Please mention your CID, in what country you downloaded the OTA, the software version you upgrade from and the hboot version.
Also any new ideas to recover our phones our self are welcome!
My phone:
2.31 Unbranded Europe
1.14 Hboot
Downloaded in The Netherlands
1111111 Supercid
I have exactly the same problem, waiting...
As far as I know the issue is only caused by people who previously had SuperCID.

I thought I saw a report of a fully stock device and one htc__001 cid as well. I can't find them at the moment, but this is also why I started this threat. But there seem to be more of these reports of supercid indeed, though there are also allot with supercid who successfully updated.
My phone is bricked too
Orginal CID was HTC_0001 (maybe), branded by 1&1 Germany
but changed to 11111111 to flash a unbranded RUU (what had worked)

@Vauix, did you run a RUU before updating? if so what one?
let's discuss who and what options tried to output the list of sections? How you think why it happened?
All of them seem to be caused by SuperCID. But the updater script allows flashing for SuperCID, so I wonder why they get bricked.

Yes I ran a RUU prior to flashing this update, i didn't chance anything to the rom yet but to search for the OTA. it was the RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe
I thought about my supercid before I ran the RUU but i thought the worst thing that could happen was i could get a error that it couldn't flash it.
Its rather weird that some guys with supercid managed to flash it successfully. And i still think I saw some people with other cid's with bricked devices.
SuperCID too, previously Vodafone germany, unbranded an relocked ...
I ran the OTA update twice on my supercid'd device successfully.
In opposite to what I could read here, my bootloader was unlocked before and still after the update.
The first time I ran the update I forgot to reflash stock recovery. The phone started updating and rebooted, but no changes had happened. After restoring stock recovery and downloading the update again, I successfully updated.
As I couldn't get root I restored Venom and downgraded my new hboot from 2.15 to 1.06.
Today I started a second try successfully without a glitch.
Basically I keep an untouched nandroid backup of every new rom installation on my local harddisk. This means in case of custom roms I do a nandroid before the first boot.
As this is not possible on stock recovery I change back to custom recovery after the first boot, doing my backup then. I'm just checking the needed boxes otherwise I only proceed during the setup - the complete customization is done afterwards.
In this case I restored a backup called 2012-08-23--08-18-16_htc_stock_2.31
Stock here means: No apps, no customizations, no nothing, simply: stock and supercid.
After that was done I restored apps with Titanium.
That's how it worked (pretty simple) Maybe this will help you find some reasons for what has happened to your devices.
Same problem here...
SuperCID
All people here seem to have SuperCID, I have not.
I got my ville for about 7 months now and never had SuperCID.
I did it like everytime:
-Wiped everything ( Data / Cache / System )
-Flashed Stock Recovery
-Relocked
-Flashed 2.31 Europe RUU in Bootloader ( yes, that works but I guess noone knows )
-Downloaded 4.1.1 Update and let the Device do its magic
Now my phone is bricked.
Strange enough, a good friend of mine whos barely able to use its phone, got the same issue.
Im 100% sure he doesnt have any modifications done to his device.
Already tried the Ubricking-Tutorial but the Partitions just dont show up :-/
I did the super CID, too. No my phone is dead. Won't even charge.
I tried to do Enumerating the partitions but could only find up to 3. No 4 or 12.
Please help :crying:
SuperCID, German ONE S unbranded. Dead.
