They keep changing my facebook password, monitoring practically everything I do, harrassing me, just to harrass me, because they get some pointless satisfaction out of it. I already have this Kaspersky anti everything package that does not seem to help at all. I might have pissed off the owner or two of a few tech companies a while back but I have tried to make amends. I know what is going on, I just don't know who is doing it or why. Pleaae help me to make them stop harraaing me by referring me to good antihack software, free perhaps? as I am physically disabled and cannot make much money. Thank you in advance.
PS: It could also be a psycho-ex-girlfriend p.i., after I told her that it was possible to do this.

Always Remember : Never Save Your Password In aShared Computer... ;P
Hope it helps.. hehe
More than likely you have a keylogger or a trojan on your computer, or someone is sniffing traffic on your wireless network. My suggestion would be to temporarily stop using facebook, use another computer on another network to change your password, format your computer and don't use wireless at home.
This may sound extreme, but you wouldn't beleive how easy it is to pull passwords off of an open network (bookstore, Hotel, or Airport). You can try to use spyware, and anti-virus software, but most software packages out there are hit or miss. You can also try changing your SSID, hide it, and encrypt it, but it's still not the most difficult hurdle to get through. My guess is that you have an open network broadcasting SSID, or you have a some kind of keylogger or trojan reporting back to someone on your machine. So once you've got your machine cleaned (reformated), install some good spyware/antivirus/firewall software, avoid opening emails from anyone you don't know, and avoid entering personal information over wireless networks.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Moved as not software release..
The best option is:
1. Download Ubuntu Linux CD image (.iso).
2. Burn it to CD.
3. Boot the CD.
4. Now you can use everything, you are safe.
So, change your passwords, etc...
5. You cal also try to search for those harmful files and delete them, but it would be best to reinstall Windows system.

You can - but if you get busted you might lose your job.. for facebook.. if that's the risk you wanna take, the google for http tunneling.
Basically the protocolls get wrapped and pushed via http port, on a server they get translated and routed, eg. 21 for ftp, 22 ssh and so on...
Here a few keywords to get you started:
- HTTP tunnel
- ICMP tunnel
- Pseudo-wire
- Tunnel broker
- VPN
Hope this helps, as google can give you the results, I will not write a guide since there is tons of them out there.
many thanks. you give me a very good option for begin....i want to dig..that i like to learn..
need a little more information. Are you saying that you plugged in a wireless access point to give internet access to your mobile devices, which has now stopped?
OR
The access point still works, but when you use a Windows Mobile it fails as opposed to when you use a Android Mobile which works?
no i have access to net via my wifi spot but i cant have access at these webs. with android i have!today i will take with me my laptop and i will try with tunnels if i cant i will install virtual linux to my laptop.

The best is if you install your own "server" tunnel, since the public tunnels usually are very slow.
If you have a good hosting, such as root or at least shell access, the chances are good to run your own server, this is also better for your security and privacy
i was test to have access from linux.but i cant....i dont know why.at xperia mini i steel have access... to make tunnel i need to make server at home and forward ports from there?
p2p connection

A new find by the researchers at CA Security have unearthed a new kind of malware on andriod which can record infected devices conversations and uploads it to a remote server !

Another reason why it's important to check the permissions for an app before installing it. I'm bad about sometimes just hitting ok without looking but usually I'll go back and check afterwards just in case.
Check out Permissions Denied and Privacy Blocker in the market, they are both good apps that will prevent apps from getting permission to do stuff you don't want them to. Just be aware that the affected app may FC if it tries to do something and you have it blocked. I believe CM7 now is also able to block permissions on an app by app basis.
I usually have some sort of security installed on my phone. Regardless of checking apps before you install them, is this something I should continue to do? I flash new ROM's / ROM updates quite often, and I worry sometimes that it may be a good idea to make sure that Lookout, which is the anti-virus / anti-malware program that I use is installed before I do anything else.
I usually try to read the permissions, and some apps go out of their way to use permissions that are not necessary. I have been using Lookout Mobile Security, but I am not sure how well it works.
I think its time phone makers start inculcating permission management as in CM 7 in to there builds to help user's control these things. You could also use LBE Privacy guard, to control apps.

Another nice app for this is called LBE Privacy Guard. I'm also a bit lax on checking before installing, but LBE will ask you in your notification window to confirm each perm. Allowing you to choose permit, ask each time it needs it, or deny access all together. I use it to deny access for network on games that don't need it to function and phone identification for almost all apps as most really don't need that info to work.
Which software to record calls?
Hi there,
as far as I know you cannot really record calls in Android becuase you can not intercept the phone directly. Therefore basically all phone recording software requires you to switch to speaker mode and records the call via the microphone (which may result in very bad audio quality, depending on your location).
Or is there now another (a better) way to record calls? Does an app exist, which records calls?
Kind regards,

That was my understanding of it as well.. heck for the Desire you need to be rooted, flash a specially-modified kernel, and have the correct radio ROM flashed.

there is one, works well with sony ericsson x10 mini pro, from android market
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.schass.recording.call&feature=search_result
I installed "LBE Security Service". (needs root) : works great
The author writes:
Protect your privacy by controlling the permission of each application to access your sensitive data.
- Block malicious operation from Mal-wares and Trojans.
- Block unwanted network traffic if you don’t have a unlimited data plan.
- Find out which application is trying to steal your privacy by checking the security log.
But apps like Angry Birds steal nearly everything from your (Position, Contacts ,SMS and so on) so i think there should be a general rule in the market which forbids things like Call recording(really man who needs this ^^) , and personal data stuff only the Position for apps who really needs this. And i mean nearly every free apps sells your data and this is not so cool i think you dont know nothing what happends to this data and I think there is alot to do on every mobile OS ( for every os is an angrybirds convert ^^), I knew at s60 (Symbian) there were a lot of antivirus kits to download(kaspersky, Bitdefender etc) maybe they will now see the market of android for antivirus softworks

just checked and angrybirds has no permission to access anything you mentioned, it only has full network access for ads (cm7 permission revoked) and read network state, thats all.
Droid Wall
I think just by using droidwall you can already squish a lot of malicious intentions an app has.
Its allows you to set a whitelist (or blacklist) of apps that you would allow to block packets from being sent.
What's great about it is:
1. it doesnt drain your battery, because it doesnt run as a service, but modifies your device's iptables
2. one of its features is logging your network activity so you could see which apps are actually sending or downloading data... this is helpful if you got a doctored copy of your favorite game or app. In case that app was modified to spy-on-you you can still block it
wow, then I think that I'll delete my entire mobile memory and apps and then start installing apps over again but I have to read the permissions very well this time.
Google should do something serious about that!
Thanks.
@FadeFX
Sry my fault Only the iOS version of angry birds steals psw ,contacts etc.

Pretty much all apps need some kind or the other kind of permission .. so the wise thing is to look up these permissions while installing app or use any one of the other apps to do that for you ..

Yes ,but if you use an iOS device there came no permission screen ,so you have to lock it up in the Appcontract what this app does in background , so it seems like the only way to get malware on an Android/WP7 seems to dont read the Permissions and only click ok ( imean if you install a FartMaschine or sth. and it needs your Position data to work there must be something bad in the background
I mean for kids who uses there phone or ipod or whatever this is a really big responsibilty and u cant except from an 10 or 14 year old kid to take care about that i think these data stealing apps should be forbidden ,if you read the article you see that from 101 tested apps 56 send user data to different networks. Both the Android and iPhone versions of Pandora, a popular music app, sent age, gender, location and phone identifiers to various ad networks so i think there have to be a cut by the law. For me it was a new world to because i had an s60v2 device from 2004 till the last month so i had to learn to take care what my phone knews about me.

Hi everyone new on the forum here so i hope i post in the right thread.
I wonder whats the risk of malware/spyware/viruses when downloading free mp3 music files from soundcloud, facebook etc.
Both directly from the phone but also from the computer then transferd to the phone.
You often here people talking about apps and viruses/malware but rarley whats the risk of downloading video, picture, music, text, files from different sources on the web with your smartphone.
Android devices are used more and more like a PC replacement and sharing files thru all kind of different sites.
And then we do internet banking/payments etc etc.
Also can a downloaded music file from the computer then transferd to your smartphone contain any nasty stuff and then become a threat to your android phone for example?
And if so do todays computers anti-virus programs, detect any of the viruses/malware/spyware etc , that is harmfull for android phones?. Or will you have to scan it with the smartphones anti-virus software once transferd aswell/or instead?
Is a good anti-virus program for android crucial if you use your smartphone like this?
Many questions i know!
But Verry Thankful For Answers,
Cheers

Hiii ..... Bro...
Android uses linux kernel so it doesnt affected by viruces made for windows...
Mostly Windows viruces are on the internet so you can safely download any stuff to your android .
But if you are really looking for antivirus then go for
free : AVG Antivirus - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...utm_medium=organic&utm_term=avg+antivirus+apk
I download things all the time straight to my phone and transferred to and from PC and I haven't had a problem yet (hoping it stays that way). My rule of thumb is: If it seems suspect then move on.
Remember there are always other alternatives and/or places to get what you are searching for

Hi All, Just a quickish query & any responses are appreciated. I recently moved from One M8 to Pixel XL & use Avast. My query is do I need Avast on new device ... I dont view 'adult' stuff, nor install 3rd party apps, Chrome set to protect from dangerous sites, Twitter app set to use Chrome not built in browser, I view XDA & AA on Twitter so will click links on any news that interests me, delete any email i receive in Inbox by Gmail which looks strange, Onefootball app I use and sometimes will click links to any site that a story is contained in, I do use Avast on laptop when transferring anything audio to phone prior to transfer & finally I do have my banking app on phone. Basically with this behaviour do I need Avast or can I ditch it?
Thanks in advance

IMO the only use case would be using Avast to detect mitm attacks on public WiFi, but it is not even close to reliable...
You should use a VPN on public WiFi's so you don't have to care about anyone sniffing/modifying traffic.
All in all I would see no point in using avast, since Antivirus systems under android are completely powerless when it comes to any attack that uses an exploit that doesn't need any user interaction (e.g Stagefright).

Ah, Thanks for the reply, I don't use Public WiFi as usually dead slow let alone secure, I have MMS not set to download automatically & I do let use WhatsApp for example so I should be good to ditch? My main concern was due to mobile banking but it's via app and not browser so would presume safe?

it's true their antivirus is limited as only scans user apps which should normally be safe anyhow thanks to Google scanning them, though there may be times when Avast beats Google to identifying a vulnerably. But they also offer web shield, that might save you one day (depending on he browser you use). So for me I will always run something like Avast. I know some will take the piss out of me ...... but that don't brother me!

But the criminal may seek a challenge in which case I always try to seem as defenseless as possible and it has been years since I can even remember using AV protection on Windows for anything lol.
To the OP
95% of how well your defense is against an attack is all about common sense before anything then probably the last 5% would be how much take you prefer to have on the software end....
Firewalls and VPN/anononimity software is probably the best way to steer clear from anything landing its way onto your devices that you do not want there!

Could you please explain it and give us concret examples based on your experience of this application ?

Basically it combines a simple basic app that monitors your ARP table against attack.
When it is set to non root ,it simply disconnects the Wi-Fi and informs you about the attackers IP address.
The main reason I use it is because, unlike other apps which simply close the Wi-Fi connection, it has a pro feature at an acceptable price that prevents attacks like those from harming your device
It has 3 modes, non root, recovery and invulnerability
I have explained non root
Recovery informs you and blocks the attacks
Without cutting the Wi-Fi
Invulnerability does not even suffer attacks.
I suggest you try it.
But remember, if a person is using a spoof before you connected to the Wi-Fi, you cannkt detect it.
Here's the link

For home use - free Avast. For corporate use a paid antivirus.
