In trying to solve my problem I uninstalled and reinstalled Geforce Experience. Doing that wiped out the game profiles that it used to have, so it showed no games. If you leave it showing no games and go to the Preferences tab and click on the Streaming settings, the box will be unchecked and the program will lag until crashing. When you restart it the Streaming option will not be there anymore and NVSTREAMER.EXE isn't in the Task Manager or Services.
I had the same thing happen to me too except that I had a list of games. For some reason, it happened after I optimized my whole game list at once, lagged, crashed, and when brought back - no streaming. Reinstalling it worked though.

Hello,
Early last week I put Vegan 5.1 on my gtab. Everything was working well and I had started installing a couple of apps and personalizing the device.
Friday night I downloaded Dungeon Defenders played around with it for a bit, then turned it off. Saturday morning when I turned it on everything seemed fine but then I realized it appears to have done a partial reset or something.
Some apps were suddenly missing, angry birds which was already in place and titanium which I had downloaded. (never got a chance to figure out how to use titanium)
Two apps that I installed now get force close errors at boot-up, a notepad app and Nook.
I cleared a bunch of the default bookmarks from the browser and added a few of my own, all of that was reset. My bookmarks are gone and all the stock bookmarks are back in place.
When I tried to open the market it acted like it was the first time I had used it, the user agreement popped up and I had to accept again.
Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this 'reset', and how I might keep it from happening again?
Thanks in advance.
I am running the enhancement pack with 3389. I had the exact same issue over the weekend. Some of the same apps were missing. Market was reset and was only showing very few apps.
angry birds, dolphin browser etc was missing. I am also getting a lot of random force closes.
Just as an FYI the battery didn't run out of juice.

I run vegan 5.1 with Pershoot's 1/09/2010 kernel, which I find is the most stable for Vegan on the Gtab. Solid as a rock!
Sounds like a potential issue with the internal storage. Is the tablet mounted on your pc by any chance or was the sdcard option unmounted in settings?

I have had it connected to my PC but I don't think I did at all that day.
Wasn't sure if you were referring to the internal SD or removable microSD but in either case they are both mounted and seem to be fine.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Many games are sluggish and run in frames, and it sometimes runs in frames on the homescreen. I have Android 4.0.4 from AOKP (aokp-crespo-milestone-5) and Matr1x (#11) kernel installed. Also, I had the same problem when running Android 2.3.6 and also Stock ICS both rooted and unrooted.
I discovered this problem when trying to play Asphalt 6. On a Samsung Galaxy S worked fine, but on the Nexus S it was going in frames. Since, I have seen many more games that have the same issue, any ideas?
Hi, maybe you should try Matr1x v22 BFS (Better than CFS for running games) should be good with 4.0.4
I played Asphalt 6 on my Nexus S and it was fine, as much as the Nexus S gets.
Do you have some services syncing with the network in the background? Sometimes, when the SD card is not responding properly, the device itself can get a little sluggish, so if a service is saving some data on the SD card in the background it could cause this.
Check the running applications menu to see what's there, try removing everything that is not necessary (syncing applications, social network apps, ad networks, etc.), and then try playing again.
A few times, I noticed that TweetDeck was causing this on my device. I had to manually close it so that games would be smooth, but it was a long time ago and I think this problem was resolved (am using TweakDeck now).

closed all apps in the background, no effect.
try this:
Save essential data from the SD card.
Format data, system, cache and boot. And then format sd card.
Reinstall everything back and see if it works better.
Anytime my Nexus S has been sluggish, I've used Android System Info (available on Google Play) to diagnose. Granted, it, like all other task manager style apps, will eat resources while running. However, under the Tasks tab, it will give you a list of each process and its MEM (RAM) and CPU usage. See if there are any processes that seem to be pulling too much CPU, or possibly too much MEM. It may be a constant issue that only shows when another resource-hungry process (i.e. Asphalt 6) competes for these valuable resources.
If you don't trust apps or don't wish to install any, it's possible to look at your battery usage. Although this is not a sure-fire nor exact method, it's possible that if you have a run-away process that's eating CPU, it could also be eating your battery as well. Have you noticed any major battery drain lately?
Hi everyone,
At a bit of a loss here. My gf has a nexus 5 running android 6 and she keeps getting loud adverts playing when her phone is sleeping.
It is intermittent, no set pattern and as soon as the power button is pressed there is no trace of anything.
I have googled excessively and can find no one else who has experienced it.
I have removed lots of her apps that could be suspect but today it happened and I heard it with my own ears. They appear to be targeted ads as it played an audio ad for a national car chip repair service.
Any help or advice welcomed.
Thinking of doing a factory reset of the phone.....

One way to find out which app is causing this is to go to Settings->Apps->Running and see what all apps are listed here.
Try looking uninstalling the user apps listed here one by one and check if the problem is fixed.
Normally it has to be a Game app or sth. like that.
Cheers.

I tried doing that, and nothing obvious was running. The only thing it claimed was running was Android Web View - which would make sense, the ads are probably javascript and HTML5 audio elements., but I could not see what was invoking the web view to open.
I did run a malware scan using malwarebytes for andorid and it ALWAYS crashed when scanning chrome, even after I cleared the chrome cache and data. Which made me suspect chrome was infact infected.
On a more depressing note, I did end up factory reseting the phone, and did a clean install, and installed her "vital" apps (to make sure it did not restore a "bad" application) and my gf has just alerted me to the fact it has begun speaking to her again! Arrghh.
I would of thought a factory reset would have removed all traces of this thing.
Would it be worth doing (the rather drastic) full factory reset, using the google provided factory images and ADB/Fastboot?

Just out of curiosity, does this music play while there is an incoming notification?

The odd thing is there is NO notification at all. You can just hear the advert, and once the screen comes on, there is no sign of it ever happening!
No notifications, no open applications in the app draw. Very annoying!

Well,that's strange.
Only thing that is left to try is a full reset, as I guess the media is stored somewhere in the internal storage and is played by some adware.
Just back up only the essential folders ( like DCIM,Music, etc.) and nothing more from your internal storage prior to a full reset.
That should solve the problem.
Cheers.
Hi guys,
Recently I have issues with Google play all access playing downloaded files. The sound stops, but the time keeps ticking as if it is playing. If I turn the screen off, the music plays fine. If I stream through the same app, as opposed to downloaded music, it's also fine.
I did a factory reset which totally fixed the issue, but came back only a few weeks later.
Short of continuous factory resets, any ideas? This is obviously incredibly annoying.
Other players play local music fine, but as I own very little music, it's all streamed, this wouldn't really work as an alternative...
Thanks in advance!
Galaxy s6 running 5.1.1 un rooted
I've installed MX Player on my Android TV and love it, as it works well and the GUI and options are awesome. But no matter what I try resume won't work when playing back from USB stick.
I see older posts about this and most people fixed it by uninstalling, restarting the device and re-installing. But after several attempts at doing the same resume just isn't working. I have checked that resume option is set (tried both the resume 'always' and 'ask' options).
Does anyone have other things to try? It's the only third-party media player I have installed at the moment so I can't see it being a conflict with anything.
So after a couple of re-installs and app updates the resume feature seems to now be working for the most part.
I think there's an issue with the whole OS though so I'm going to do a factory reset and start from the beginning. Hopefully that will fix the niggly problems.
