So I have been looking for the perfect lock screen app that handles notifications well, that is also aesthetically appealing. So far Facebook home is my best bet, but there is one problem. When you use Facebook home as your lock screen it only shows notifications for Facebook and fb messenger, but on the HTC First it shows notifications for all apps, is there a way to get all notifications to show through Facebook home like on the HTC first?
HTC First LS:
By the way I'm on a GS4. Also what is so different between the Home app on the market and the one on the First? Why can the preloaded app display system notifications but the Market version can't?

I'm looking for a facebook widget similar to what Friendstream offers. I have yet to find a scrolling widget that doesn't show the farmville spam. LauncherPro's widget shows the spam. I'd love to check out some AOSP roms, but without an alternative to FriendStream, I just can't make the jump.....
You could try pure messenger widget. It provides a similar function and is very customisable. However, that does make it hard to setup in the way that you want it to be.

When I had problem with the farmville spam showing up on my tweetdeck timeline, I went to facebook and explicitly disabled the farmville notifications from the timeline by clicking on the little "x" on the notification and choosing "hide" or something. After I did that it stopped showing up on tweetdeck and facebook.
So, maybe it isn't something with the widget or app, but something you should disable from the facebook website.
I had the Mytouch 4G, before I got this phone, and what I miss the htc sense twitter widget that came with it. It was just a box widget on your home screen with no viewable tweets, and you just tap on it and update your twitter, is it possible to move that over to the G2X? Or get it by chance? I could constantly tweet without opening twitter, but the twitter for android widget is not good at all, do not like it.

No, its not. Sense twitter requires the rosie framework which is proprietary to HTC.

Each twitter app has different widgets. I would try a few different apps and see if any have widgets you like as much or more. Tweetdeck for example has a "Post" widget that just shows the avatar for your account, a text field that you can tap to tweet, and a camera button.
Also, there are apps that let you create shortcuts directly to some portion of an application. I think both LP and ADW can. Wouldn't be as convienent as a 3rd party app widget, but you could create a shortcut that went straight to the post page in the twitter app.
Just use Launcherpro Plus.

Op wants a widget that does not show tweets.
I am quite confused at this time in technology we can't have the incons for emails show how many messages are available for individual accounts. I don't mean gmail but exchange etc. HTC does this for sense. Are there any roms that do this or something i am missing here? its ridiculous.
anyone know anything?
I would love to have some suggestions to this, too.
The included email app has this functionality to some extent. But, it only seems to works if you put in a shortcut to the entire inbox, and not individual accounts. Looks like the functionality goes away if you use another launcher.
And gmail's latest version doesn't allow 3rd party apps access to that information. So, the couple apps and launchers that used to give an unread counter for gmail, don't anymore.
Maybe try another 3rd party email client?
I tried a few 3rd party Apps. No go

"Enhanced Email" the app will allow a desktop widget that shows you how many unread emails you have.
You can also add the widget to your lock screen using Widgetlocker as the lockscreen app.
So I don't have to log into my phone to see how many unread emails I have. I simply press my power button and look at the lock screen..

Try NiLS Notification, and you can also layer on NiLS+ (you will need to join the developers Google+ group to get NiLS+ at the moment).
I found that NiLS is the closest thing to offer what iOS does out of a variety of lock screen widgets I have tried that offer that kind of functionality.
Also check out WidgetLocker. Its a little buggy with KitKat at the moment, but I'd expect an update to be coming.
You can add gmail, weather, etc widgets to the stock lockscreen. swipe from left to right.

I have just bought the All-In-One Carbon watchface which is great and very customisable. You can show 5 apps along the bottom and click through directly to each of them. It also shows a notification e.g. on the Messages app if you have a waiting text. My problem is that I use Gmail rather than the native Email used by Samsung on my Note 3. I do get Gmail notifications on the watch in the normal way but I would like to see the notification on an app on the main watchface if possible. Would that mean I have to use Email rather than Gmail on my phone? If so, I'll leave it as I much prefer Gmail.
Thanks.
