[Huawei IDEOS U8150][ROM][HTC SENSE 2.2] Reaching functional state

This is a light ported version of the HTC Tattoo SENSE rom found here
CUSTOM RECOVERY NEEDED TO FLASH .ZIP FILE
It boots and loads sense but much of the kernel does not work..
The rom will wipe automatically the phone so i recommend doing a nandroid before updating
My phone does not detect the sim card.
The battery meter is wrong.
Thats all i saw.
Try it for yourself it looks awesome( and even better if we get it working)

well for me neither Sim nor Wi-fi works (Shows Error below Wi-fi checkbox)

Battery level seems fine though !!!
meanwhile im loving the experience ....!! i'll play with this for a while and then i might switch back to my functional ROM ....
PS: I request all XDA developers to kindly kindly work on this awsome ROM and make it fully functional ............. !!!
i'm done with playing and now Lemme write a list of things that AREN'T working:

Sim card (it detected my network for a while.... n i was able to make a call but then it stopped working)

Nice work... but without WiFi, SDCard and SIM card, hope it'll be fixed on next, can u let me know when it'll be fixed???

Yeah I would encourage all XDA developers to put some effort into this project .... as this could really yield some great results for a Mini device like Ideos !!!!

Developers need to look at kernel to port it...I'll look at it and try to port it

I know this is a dumb question, but is there a reason why you can't just replace the kernel?

If you look on the "Mobile Partner" autorun.iso, there's something about an offer to buy a CD containing the source code for the IDEOS' kernel (IIRC) and related software. It says it costs 20 euros, but it may be a worthy investment

Yeah, that's the accelerometer/G-sensor drivers. Part of the kernel, which seems to be the problem with this and the GingerMAN port. :\

wow , installed this rom and its the best one ive seen on the ideos u8150 ,
keep up the GOOD work, would love to leave this rom but no wifi and calling so ill switch back and wait for all the primary services to work. LOVE IT

Actually, the source for both the OS and kernel is available for free on Huwei's website. I don't have the exact link, but if you search for the U8150 on the CyanogenMod forums you should be able to find the links.

[Q][DEV] So, what's left for i9003?

codeworkx and Skin1980 left the i9003 scene. I understand them, this device is dead. codeworkx is frustrated with the NEC camera driver (5k lines of code, not a single useful comment, it seems) and Skin1980 got an i9100.
Are we alone or is there any other REAL developer? (no cook, developer, someone that develops, not that just builds ROMs)

what's not smooth on the phone? sure, we lack some features like TV out, good working skype video, USB OTG etc but apart from that i can't complain!

Tut tut. Everyone on here is just too impatient and childish. I remember a time when there was no custom rom or recovery, and there were similar complaints about the device being too ****ty and yet here we are with many roms and mods. So please act maturely and stop being demanding and rude to the developers. It'll be great help if you're all a lil courteous.

No, it doesnt! Not officially at least and have you tried it? Incoming vidro works, outgoing doesnt!
But then again, our device offers all thats needed and is still quite fast at it! You say thats not true? Go buy another phone (and keep doing that every couple months to stay at the edge)!

Donate money to buy galaxy sl to get ics

I recently messaged PaulForde ( person who developed ics for i9000)
He said he will make ics for our device if we are ready to donate him the money to buy a i9003.
I am ready to donate. If you think this is correct we will donate the money.

who told you he got the device from his friend.
i am the tester for ICS which dhiru was working previously but his friend is not comfortable to give his device to dhiru so he has take it back
and now he has no device.

But in that thread,someone said that he got a device.And he will fix the bugs soon.

Wonder what's the obsession with ics...
Can somebody please throw some light on what additional functionality ics will add to the device?.
The primary goal, I think right now should be making the camera fully functional on cyanogen and other roms.. Our devs are definitely putting in loads of hard work to make that happen, but it would be great to get someone with serious expertise at camera drivers...
Because unless we get the camera fully functional, ics or whatever, majority of the community will stick to stock roms..
Or maybe get supercurio to work on a voodoo kernel for us..
These are just my thoughts... Let's have a discussion and decide what's best..

its a request since most people want ics and since he has made ics for i9000 i think he will make it fully stable soon and camera fully working also. or he can patch up with dhiru and we can donate money to them and they can work together to build ics.

I agree. I don't get what's the craze over ics, finishing up cyanogenmod 7 and miui first would be more logical. Can someone shed some light on how great ics will be?

Well. It's not obsession but i think it's the trend nowadays. People tend to lose the concept of contenment. It's as if when jellybean woould come out..people with ics would yell to death and say "we want jb (jellybean not justin beiber)".
Working out miui and cm7 first is really logical since they came out first. But when you think about it. Why not doing it at the same time since there are respective developers for each respective project.
It's a matter of what people want not what people really need. Isn't it?
And about the donation drive. Not really a fan. Why not take codeworx? And give it to Dhiru?

Don't think that's an option.. Once codeworkx is done with the current device he's working on, he might come back and hope something fruitful turns out..
On the topic of DONATIONS, don't think that's a issue either, as long as it's going into the right hands... Take a look at TEAM UC's work... The donation was nothing, they deserve more... Those are the kind of devs we need here....

if you dont agree with me guys then we can maybe focus on making cm7 stable or atleast the camera working properly otherwise no one will use it since many people use camera

Donate to dhiru. Yes, the other dev ported to Galaxy S, but it's a completely different platform.
As a donator to codeworkx, i'd appreciate it if you don't take his device. He's developing for one of the most popular Android developers at the moment. Once a stable ROM has been developed and things calm down, he's had a break and some fun, i'm sure he's happy to lend a hand with the Galaxy SL.
I don't understand the drive to get ICS out the door now. We've only had Gingerbread for a few months - work on CM7 first.

Guys don't get mad over ICS. I think already we have donated 3 devices to codeworkx, doomlord, fuss132 which is more than enough. I remember those days when people were donating to fuss in expectation of ICS port. He also said that he is busy with some work. He will come after some days to start his work.
Main problem is people don't have patience about development. They want everything instantly. Same is happening with gm007. He is passionately porting miui rom. But everyday people throw lots of bugs on him & expect a quick fix. They force him to quickly release versions which is sometimes not tested very well by gm007.
ICS is important but if u will not have camera in that also then ICS will be also useless. My suggestion would be to have patience till we get OPAM drivers for camera compaible to gingerbread as well as ICS.
Finally we all must understand one thing that we have less people who actually develop something for phone. So we must have some patience & we must give them some time as per their convinience.

But there's nothing wrong with getting a few more recognized devs, like Doomlord said 'more the merrier ', to work on our device IF PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM DONATING ..
Maybe Supercurio for a voodoo kernel.. That would be a great addition..
But sending PM to him is disabled I suppose.. Not to disregard the need for ICS, but without the camera issue fixed there's no point..

A few pointers:
- Voodoo sound isn't viable for our device (don't have a great D-A converter, the likes of which the i9000 has).
- If anyone had tried ICS, or even researched on it, they should know why it's so awesome. It's what Android was meant to be - a beautiful, smooth and secure iterating system. It has been designed really well, the apps available for it are a step up from what was available before. It unifies the entire Android ecosystem (hopefully ending fragmentation, which we are feeling the brunt of with the i9003). Also true graphics hardware acceleration is almost a norm. The i9003 is better specs wise than the iPhone, only a few stupid things are holding it back. It's not just about wanting more and more, it's about needing the best we can get for this under-developed phone with great potential!
- And for those who bothered to really read the threads, apart from the egl graphics drivers, the camera fixes and such are the same in ICS as they are in CM 7 and MIUI. Also it's worth noting that the ICS we are getting from Dhiru is actually a CM 9 port.

I totally agree with u. We should bring more & more developer. But people should have patience & should keep faith on already existing developer's work. Fuss already have our device but due to some personal work he is not able to work on ICS port. But at least let him try & work on ICS. Just because developer is busy so we should call immediately another developer is not good guys.

we dont have to bring in new developers very soon.. But dhiru has already done this much for us with help of codeworkx.. That too without own device ( kudos to d frend who gave him device for testing).. Dont u think dhiru deserves a device?? And codeworkx wont have to do al the work alone.. He can also help with cm7 camera problems, i think..

If you want raver to port a rom you will have to find a way to help him raise the money for a new computer to dev on like the chromebook once he has something to do his work on, he will do his magic for you guys when he has time

This is a good idea. That ROM looks very good and I think GB needs some love. Also, besides Erik, Dao is a very good option for it. I know there are some other's too.
BTW... We just got 2 new ROMs. So maybe in time we will keep getting more.

i´ve showed some roms from teamAcid to some non GS4g user and they´ve freak out to how amazing your ROMS are .........this ROM would be delirusly wicked on any one´s phone

looking at the screenshots from the link provided by OP and asking raver to port it seems kinda redundant. if you ask me, it looks like they ported one of raver's imfamous Audiophile ROMs from back in the froyo/gb days. take a look.

first off crysis isnt a rom its just a higly modified theme over a stock rom. There is some tweaks to it but nothing that has not been done before. Second off see above.

i fixed most of the main pc.. i would need to find a quad core lga 775 processer to install on the mb everything thats dead has been replaced. I tried to salvo the processor from my laptop into a desktop lol that didnt work.

I know what you mean GFX.myst but audiophile is based on froyo and ROM Sensation is based on gingerbread

i can´t run some app´s on froyo cause they request at least 2.3 ROM´s

did you read my last update??i am already doing the aosp..let's just begin with small steps..i already have the kernel base, we already have the device tree piled up and we are prepping a few more prerequisites to start the compile process starting..
it seems you lack the confidence in me to accomplish this..i am walking myself through the pain, stress and expense to get things together..at quite some time i feel like abandoning this project and just sit back relax and enjoy myself..

Dude i am sorry...you know how much i trust you and rely upon you....i didt really look at your post properly.you are the only hope for me to still hold this device..i will support you all time...pls continue to work on your project and you have my support....
