Compatibility of Zerolemon Extended Battery and Spigen screen protector? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Because I have thus far been unimpressed with my S4's battery life, I have been thinking about getting the Zero Lemon 7500mAH extended battery. I see that it comes with a TPU case, which is clearly necessary given the dimensions of the additional battery. Now, if I am looking at it correctly, this leaves the screen unprotected, which is what is making me seriously consider getting the Spigen Glas.tr for it as well. But, before I drop $75, I want to make sure that I am not missing something, and that the design of the extended batter case is such that a standalone screen protector is still viable.

I'm not sure there is enough room for a tempered glass solution between the case lip and the actual screen. Thin film yes, I have a regular cheapo screen protector.
Someone else might have installed that but I don't see a 0.5 mm potential space and the case kind of snaps onto the phone as the lips come over the screen itself.

[Q] Best T. Glass Screen Protector!

Hello, I have information about the best tempered glass screen protector that I have found! I also have an important question at the end. I do NOT work for or get paid by any these companies.
The "iloome Samsung Galaxy S3(Blue) ScreenMate" is by far, the best tempered glass screen protector that I've ever used! It took me 2-3 months to find it and I'm so happy now! ='D
Ok, so I've tried the XGear Spectre. The responsiveness was a serious issue, same thing for the Seido Vitreo. The Vitreo left the worst smudges and fingerprints more than on all the screen protectors that I've ever tried, including normal film. I've also tried numerous film "plastic" screen protectors. The ArmorSuit MilitaryShield was my favorite until it had random wave-like defects. Zagg HD sucks. And I forgot the rest cuss they also sucked. Spigens is nice but not enough H on the hardness scale for me (and curved edge doesn't work with most of my cases and I want to protect the whole screen)
The iloome ScreenMate goes really close to the edge. More so than the Vitreo and, if my memory is correct, the Spectre as well. I think it stops right at the spot where the screen begins to curve (unless the whole screen is curved, then idk what I'm talking about) but it doesn't necessarily go RIGHT to the edge. However, as someone who really wants a full-screen protection with his phone, I am really satisfied. It's really smooth but not as smooth as the other tempered glass screen protectors (is there an abbreviation like t.glass sp? lol). It has a real SLIGHT resistance to it sort of like a film screen protector but I like it. There is more resistance when your fingers are wet. They shouldn't be wet in the first place when handling a phone but you know, life happens.
It took me a couple re-attempts to fit it perfectly but I got it pretty good. If the SP doesn't stick anymore I'll give it another shot cuss of my reattempts. The cutouts are really spot-on. As someone with an OCD-attention-to-detail-like personality (disclaimer: I'm not OCD, just blessed & cursed with "Eagle Eyes"!), I am 9/10 on the cutouts. The Home Button cut-out could be just a little smaller to help with accuracy when placing the SP (and technically, more protection of the screen and dust protection). I feel the same about the speaker and I think the proximity sensor cutout could be enhanced a little. HOWEVER, these are the tiniest details if we're looking at the realistic practicality of the SP. The fact that the notif. light, front camera, and sensors are covered with the see-through part of the SP is something that I love! It doesn't say Samsung which I kind of miss.
In the future, I see a t.glass sp with a mesh-like speaker cover/filter like you see in some rugged phone cases. And some sort of flexible home button. But anyway, back to the topic!
There are one or two problems with the screen protector, It doesn't work with the Kraken AMS, Ballistic MAXX, or Commuter... The AMS won't fit on the right way, the power buttons and volume buttons are off. Same with the MAXX, and the Commuter external poly case won't have a tight fit. The AMS lifts up the SP and caused some dust to go under so I cleaned and re-applied. I think the SP is a little too close to the edge for these cases. The Spectre and Vitreo worked fine with them though. And the second thing is that there are these tiny dots like a grid on the screen. I read that these dots help with accuracy and responsiveness with the phone and you. But you can only see them when the screen is turned off and you're holding the phone at a certain angle in the light. You can't see them when the screen's on or when you're in a dark room unless you hold it at an angle in the light. But honestly, I was worried at first but I don't even notice it now.
Well, I also bought ZeroLemon's 7000mAh extended battery and I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! Only problem is, the TPU case won't work with the screen protector... ='''( >XO
So it's one or the other. But I need (want) both! I've been using the battery without the case and it's not a good idea. Ha, so here's my question for you:
Is there a better tempered glass screen protector out there that works with rugged cases (like AMS, MAXX, etc.) and also works with "clip-on" cases like ZeroLemon's? I hate regular film SP's cuss most don't cover as much of the screen as t. glass does and they don't feel as nice as tempered glass.
If someone can mod a case to work with a tempered glass sp, and mainly mod it to work with ZL's 7000mAh battery, please let me know how I can make/buy/research one! I've looked through XDA and was unable in finding much.. I want to keep the ZL Battery cuss it's just what I need so if you know of a better SP let me know.
Also, what is the biggest sized battery that can fit the stock phone battery cover? And which battery (and mAh size) lasts 2 days (Morning of Day 1 to Nighttime of Day 2) if the ZL lasts me 3 days (Morning of Day 1 to Noon of Day 3)? Maybe if I get a smaller battery I can mod myself a case.
Please let me know as I would appreciate the info more than you would imagine! It would make me so happy! And maybe other people. Thank you everyone as I am relatively new to the awesome world of Android.
UPDATE: I seem to have found a case called "Laza" that's supposed to work with extended batteries. The full title of it is "Laza Samsung Galaxy S3 RuggedFusion Protective Case for Extended Battery Black/Blue (BATTERY + BACK COVER NOT INCLUDED)". You can find it on amazon on these 2 links from what I've seen:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_gnr_aps?rh=i:aps,k:laza+rugged
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BZGQ9A8
Also I have seen these posts regarding the case:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41232920
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40449560
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102546&page=138
What do you think? Does this case work with ZL's 7000mAh and a t. glass sp? What other options are there? I will update them on this thread and give the credit where credit is due.
Do you have any rainbow effects on the screen protector? I get a little rainbow in the center of the screen. I almost never see it unless I'm looking for it but wish it wasn't there. FWIW, I've been using the iloome for a few eels and it is my favorite screen protector to date.

No mine never did but it did end up getting really unresponsive after a couple weeks. I was so excited when I made it past 3 weeks lol I figured by that time it was good to go.
But it took a dump and now I'm on the hunt again.. Since then I've had a great one but I can't find where I've ordered it..
I dropped my phone and the sp cracked so I need to find out right away. It was advertised as .40mm thick but I don't remember the name and I can't find it now, have you heard of anything like that?

[Review] ZeroLemon 9H Ultra Glass Armor tempered glass screen protector

** @ZEROLEMON_OFFICIAL has asked me to make this thread to review their new glass screen protectors. Please don't start your own thread and leave all feedback on this thread. Thank you.**
Hi guys well this is my review of the ZeroLemon 9H Ultra Glass Armor tempered glass screen protector. I liked the packaging. Straight forward, easy to open. It came with the screen protector, cleaning cloth and alcohol wipe.
Installation
I wasn't too fond of the wipe. It left a lot of streak and marks on the screen. It might have been user error but eventually i got the screen cleaned. My method is i grabbed two pieces of packaging tape. I put one pieces of the tape on one side of the screen and the other one the other side of the screen, overlapping the first piece of tape. I then pressed down on the pieces of tape really well to try to get every spot of the screen. I then pulled the tape off and it got about 99% of the dust off the screen. I then pulled the plastic off of the screen protector and applied it.
My Thoughts
I really like it. Its smooth. The screen is still clear and responsive. Its thin and it fits all of the cases i have. I'm not a huge user of the finger print scanner but for the review, I've been using it and it seems to work very well. Following are images of the packaging and cases I've tried this screen protector with. I've used the following cases:
- clear TPU case
- Otterbox Commuter
- Otterbox Defender
- Spigen Neo Hybrid
- Verus Thor
- Verus Iron Shield
Overall I'm very happy with this screen protector and for under $10, it may be the best screen protector for the value available for the Galaxy S5
Less fancy review.
I also received this item from ZeroLemon for review...
My tempered glass package came in on the weekend but was unable to get it in my hands until Monday. The box was rather plain but contents were neatly organized, protected, and all accounted for. This glass is thicker than some others I've used and I have no clue if that's a good or bad thing, but despite the thickness it does not interfere with any of my 4 cases (diztronic slim tpu, ultra tpu, reactor, and ringke slim armor case). I did not use the included alcohol wipe as the screen was already spotless dustwise on delivery. Installation was just like any other tempered glass screen I've ever had and I had zero issues applying it with zero bubbles or dust stuck between the screen and glass. I noticed no decrease in screen response just as I did not with any brand I've used. I did like how they printed the instructions on the inside of the carton itself rather than an added piece of paper. No issues with the finger print scanner and the front camera still takes clear shots.
Minor nit picks would be to make the packaging a little more visually pleasing, and I would prefer not to see iphone pictures used in the instructions, I rather see the device it's being sold for.
Bottom line I think this is a great value at it's current price and will remain so as long as it is below the 10 dollar mark. once it is above that there's no reason to pick this product over any other of the many others in that price range.
Sorry for the lack of photo's but the post above pretty much has all you'd ever need I think.
TLDR :
Great product at it's current price point
My (first edtion ) review of the 9H glass protector
I received the protector today.
Shipped by airmail, in a bubble-envelope, in which I found the cardboard casing.
Shockproof and protected, as it should with these protectors.
( I've ordered from Ebay a white-label once, and I got a origami protector, 100+ pieces of unbreakable puzzle-fun )
First impression is a perfect one, and upon opeing, I found everything I needed.
Cleaning - I cleaned my phone, and outlayed the glss protector on my display.
In contrary to "plastic's" it did not directely adhese, so I could move it to it's correct position. ( needle / knife point )
Pressing down from the inside out, it stuck perfectly with no dust or bubble's
( again .... mindblowingly perfect after 100's of plastic protectors )
The look & Feel ...
It feels amazing, smooth, likt the 'real' thing, i did not notice any lag or ghost-touches, just like if you're touching the regular screen.
The only thing ( My OCD :+ ) througt the glass you still see something of a riser between the samsung & protector.
It appears there is a ( samsung applied ) protector allready installed.
Anyone else ever noticed this ?
pic's
Great screen protection for under $10
I've been using the ZeroLemon 9H glass for almost a week now and overall I am very happy with it. I've used all the major brands before and the ZeroLemon is just as good as any of them. The glass is crystal clear with the fit being perfect and achieving a bubble free installation was a breeze with the included materials. The surface is very slick with fantastic touch response. It cleans easily and over the past 6 days has remained scratch free. One thing I must note is that the protector goes nearly edge to edge and does not leave room for a case that has heavy lip overhang onto the screen. With my Commuter wallet the rubber lip goes up and over the protector which isn't a big deal but it causes the silicone bunch up by the home button. With a price point under 10 dollars this screen protector is a major win and is easy to recommend to anyone looking for affordable screen protection.
Hi, now i got that protector.. I had different protector before.. Package is good and it included same stuff like other protectors.. That home button is lower when glass is on.. There could be some home button with sticker that i can add it to get it back to normal. Glass fits very good. Only thing that i dont know how much its resist.. y
It would be good if there is some video that you show how much your protector resist all kind of scratching? This is very good. I think that your products dont need any this kind testing if products are like this. But i didnt found this on ebay? All users dont use amazon so that would be good? But overall: big thanks that you choose me to one of those testers.. This glass prorector is perfect. Only the glass stamina/resistance is unknown that how much its takes all kind of using

I have received my Protector and have been using it for about 1 week now.
I have decided not to upload photos since the good users above me have already uploaded all that there is to be seen.
Prior to my zerolemon glass protector i was using one of those cheap china glass protector's and i would say that Zerolemon's is of a much higher quality. Previously when my screen was off there would be a "rainbow" effect on the glass and i do not have this issue anymore. The cut is much better and it protects to the maximum potential. The glass is smooth and fingerprint resistant and it cleans easily with a microfiber cloth.
The packaging was very good as well and application was a breeze with plenty of room for adjustments if you made mistakes in alignment.
I would highly recommend this product!

I'm sure it will. But I'm not 100%. Im getting a review unit of the 8500mAh battery so i will let you know when i get it. But I'm 95% sure it will.
If anyone is interested, this tempered glass screen protector does indeed work 100% with the 8500mAh ZeroLemon battery with rugged case
Man this phone feels indestructible with the rugged extended battery case and tempered glass screen protector
What about the Slim Razor case?

This looks like it comes out of the same factory as the NuGlas. The glass and package look the identical. The same alcohol package and location.

Any more feedback on this glass protector? I was thinking of getting something better than those you get on ebay for 5€/6-7$ and from a bit of well known brand. I have one of those cheap ones on my current phone and it doesn't seem bad, but i haven't dropped it yet so i don't know.
I looked into the ones from spigen but they are crazy expensive. I did read on amazon a review that said that the 9h hardness wasn't good and it would scratch easily. The ones that have this, do you find that to be true?
Also, i see they mention lifetime warranty (At least on amazon where im looking). How would that work? I would send them my broken one(at my cost) and they would send one back for free or almost free? I read that there was a brand that did that.

Cases and Screen Protectors

I just ordered my new Moto X 2014, I'm actually getting it for free to replace my old Moto X.
What are some good case and screen protector combinations? I know in the past I've had some trouble with a case AND a screen protector, it's sometimes one or the other. I'd prefer a clear case, but I'll probably end up getting more than 1 anyways.

Just got mine as well here is what I have found so far:
All tempered glass is a waste of money for this model none if it fits right at all due to the rounded edges
I would ASSUME the older plastic style ones MIGHT work better but read they also dont work that well
Most cases that say they are clear are actually frosted and that for me defeats the purpose of customizing the back
So I am going naked screen and hula case and will carry the phone in a belt pouch. Not the perfect solution but for me its acceptable. I would have preferred a strong clear tpu case (most turn yellow), I dont want a hard case, and would have love tempered glass on this but they simply dont adhere correctly.
There you have it the sad but true facts about cases and screen protectors from the research I have done. Hopefully some others in here can give you better news

I don't mind a hard case and not a fan of the glass screen protectors. I like the film ones. My last film protector made it a matte screen and took the glare away. It was fantastic! And it worked with the case. But it's the only smartphone that I've had where screen protector AND case can be used.

It's either going to be the Gelli Black Frost case or the Hula Bumper case initially. I'm getting one of those for free if I buy a screen protector, which I was going to do anyways.
I just can't get anyone to tell me what one of those cases, if any, work with a screen protector. I've been trying to get someone to answer this question for 2-3 days now. Nobody on earth knows! lol

I have the hula bumper case and i can't see any reason it would interfere at all with a screen protector. When I tried my glass protector it was in combination with the hula. Honestly thought most screen protectors are so think that they can be used with almost any case.

The glass is usually cut thinner, the film isn't always cut thinner and I've had instances where the cases would peel up the edges of the film. How did you like you Hula?

I love the look, not sure it would truly give a huge amount of protection but should protect the edges of the glass on the screen which i read is the most vulnerable part of the phone. It does have a little but of movement when you hold the phone (aka wiggles slightly) but it also adds more grip, i have a plastic backed phone.. Those damn beveled edges, nice concept, nightmare in reality. They are why no glass or other screen protector will truly fit right.

When holding or using the phone its fine. I am also extremely OCD and when it moves/wiggles is like when you just tap the side with your finger you can feel it move very slightly, very slight;y but for me noticeable, but not enough to get rid of the case just makes the phone look awesome.

Also if you can order the hula from case mate rather then moto as moto charges an extra $5 shipping. They are also at times very hard to find in stock anywhere depending on the color you want.

I really like the way that looks. My phone is Royal Blue, White Front, and Red Trim. So it's between a white or red hula case, or the gelli case. I'm leaning towards the Hula for more everyday use I think, and buying another case from amazon for when i need more protection. Or buying the hula and getting a good protecting case from moto's website
I have a coupon code from Moto for $25 off, so Im buying the screen protector and I basically get any case for free.

Weird question, but do you think there's enough give with the Hula case where it would fit around the Moto X in a thin TPU case? I like the TPU cases but worry about the protection or lack thereof. Just wondering if it'd be possible to use them and occasional put the Hula Case around them for extra protection. Of course the buttons probably wouldn't work then...

You wont be able to use the two together, to much of a lip on the back with the hula case. Even if you did somehow fit it on the tpu would never touch the back of the phone just the lip around the edge. TPU will likely give more protection then hula but hula will likely give more grip then a tpu case.
New to the X, is it worth while getting a screen protector? Case is on its way, but with Gorilla Glass 3, is it truly worth the extra to cover the screen? Probably will end up with one but wanted some other opinions!

That is completely up to you but I can tell you this based on my research and personal experience:
There is not a tempered glass screen protector on the market for the 2014 that adheres properly. Not one of them works well and thus dont bother with those. The 2014 tapered edges on the glass are the issue. I have HEARD of similar issues with PET style screen protectors but never messed with those as they never felt right to me.
Lastly everything I have read says those tapered edges o the glas DO make it more prone to crack or brake on a drop so you need SOMETHING to protect the glass edges. Full case, hula bumper, something....

A lot of the cracking that people report is from dropping their phones, not taking the Hula on and off. The Hula is designed to absorb the shock of a drop and it breaks so that the phone does not. Better that your $20 bumper break than your $600 phone.
I take my Hula off and on all of the time and it has never cracked. I think people are dropping their phones and the Hula is doing exactly what it is supposed to do - absorbing the shock, which can result in it cracking instead of your phone.

Armadillo case for Note 9. How is it? Questions for who have it.

So I had the similar Artech 21 case for the Note 5 which is the same people that make the Armadillo Tek case for the Note 9.
I liked the Note 5 case and built in screen protector but I was wondering about the built in screen protector on the Note 9 case since it's curved so the material is different.
Also, has anyone removed the built in screen protector and if so does it cause the phone to be loose in the case?
I'm waiting for more reviews on this case before ordering off Amazon but it looks decent.
How is the protection of the case compared to the Samsung rugged cover
interested in feedback as well.

The case is solid. The screen protector left much to be desired. I removed it easily and the phone still stays solidly in place. It is more protective than the Samsung rugged case but not as slim. I'd feel comfortable dropping it in the armadillo case. Here's a video review I did of it:

I have the case as well, I honestly bought like 4 different cases for the Note 9 before I got it, and one of them being the Spigen ToughArmor case and the Armadillotek. I have to say just for protection overall, the AT is way better than the Spigen case. It protects the phone more while not being that bulky, it is slightly less comfortable to hold because of the weird design and kickstand on the back, but its way better than essentially the toothpick that's on the back of Spigen cases.
The case itself covers the front of the phone a lot better than the Spigen as well (edges are raised slightly higher, the case actually covers some of the exposed glass around the sensors and the chin of the phone). It is slightly more expensive, but I'd recommend it to anyone who's scared of dropping their phone tbh.
I didn't bother with the built in screen protector, I don't like plastic screen protectors because they're too scratch prone, but it was easy to just punch it out, remove the adhesive, and just use your own glass screen protector.
It's near perfect, but if the back didn't feel a little weird, I'd say it's a perfect case
Yea, the built in screen protectors in these cases like the Armadillo, Supcase, Youmaker, etc. don't seem really good due to the curved screen. When the galaxy had a flat screen it was fine because a different material was used.
The only think I don't like at least on the Supcase, others as well as the Artech 21 case was the port covers. Unlike the Otterbox Defender it seems over time they can crack.
Right now I use the Defender mostly due to the extra big lip and better side protection.
I might go on a case binge and order the Supcase and Youmaker though but I will for sure the punch out the screen protector. I keep nothing in my phone pocket and the lips on these cases are enough I don't have to worry about contact with the ground.
The Samsung rugged case is a very well built case though. Except I prefer something with more girth like the Otterbox Defender. The Defender makes it easier to grip and use spen.
I'm enjoying it so far. I can type and swype jus like normal, no aggravating mistypes and dead spots. Jus yesterday I was noticing that my screen had some fine scratches on it, and I might keep this plastic protector on for a while. As far as the case, I have used some similar in the past and it is very protective. I also like how it connects together. I don't have to worry if it will come apart.

Those marks might not be scratches but just from the spen. Just like on a naked screen you will notice the spen leaves marks. All you need to do is just wipe it off.
Either way, the screen protectors suck on these cases. Better off just popping them off and go bare. Just don't put keys in your pocket with the phone.
I ripped off the plastic screen protector and installed an edge-to-edge tempered glass one. It works great on me.
I had to rip the plastic cover off as well.

So the built in screen protector isn't really that good?
It does protect the screen. But the edges don't hug the screen super tight, about 1 centimeter around or over the curve. This slight space causes me to have to press a little harder than I'm used to, and that causes mistypes and unresponsive touch, about 1/10 times when I touch that space.

did you turn on the 'touch sensitivity' ?
yes, I sure did. Like I say, 99% of the time was fine, but the edges of the screen protector, the tiny part over the curved edge, was slightly raised with an air gap. So it caused mistypes.

The whitestone glass screen protector is great.
all screen protector sucks! Only use Whitestone tempered glass screen protector for noW
This case is a monster when you use the glass SP with it !
I have a armadillo tek case and i think it sucks
The screen protector is a piece of **** and they told me up front to rip it off, and also the headphone jack and charger jack covers wont stay closed and they told me tough **** to that one.
Also the charger port is too small to allow the samsung usb on the go port to be inserted

Question Cases and Screen Protector

Hello everyone, just got myself a S7 Tab FE and was looking around for cases. Has anyone found a nice case as well as screen protection?
Something with a screen this size im guessing it's important to keep it in a very nice sturdy shock proof case.
The problem with device is the thinness and large size. Even with a good case a drop may break the display... try to avoid doing it. Perhaps tethering the case may help.
As for screen protectors I use these on my N10+'s. The are an easy wet apply and last an average of 6 months. Even the spen doesn't bugger them up; they are self healing to a certain extent. Exhibit almost no yellowing over their lifespan.

Yes it feels awkwardly large and thin. Might try the S7 keyboard. Not sure how well it would function as a case tho.
I might check this screen protector out however on my N20 I prefer the glass screen protector rather then the film ones

Another member had a case and tempered glass protector on their's and broke the display recently.
The IQ Sheild will protect it from marring and scratches. Temper glass protector or not I would assume any sizable impact is likely to break the display.
Think about where you are and what you're doing when handling it... you know how it goes.
Lol, put away getting drunk
I bought the Tab S7 plus book cover it fits well with magnets
with a tempered glass screen protector they are here since I bought the device 3 months ago and they are fine
I put my tablet in my backpack so it's not a big deal
original book cover or keyboard cover are nice. But expensive and do not offer any more protection then some generic 15$ ones. I have one of those generic ones for home use because I need kickstand feature. Also have a spigen rugged armor, which I use while working on the filed. That one also has a sand feature but the case as such is pretty stiff so it needs more attention to use it that way. Not really cheap but certainly gives more protection then the original ones for less money.
And for screen, I don''t use any screen protectors, glass is scratch resistant enough for a while now and with screens huge as this or devices thin like this nothing really helps against cracking it. Need to be careful, that is the only thing that will help.
I went with a Poetic rubber-ish case and SuperShieldz tempered glass screen protector. The case is nice. Fits well with the screen protector, and even redirects the speakers toward your face which is awesome for watching movies or gaming.
