Hi,
I have a Spice Mi-270 dual sim, GSM, Android 2.2 version mobile phone and Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 running Gingerbread.
Using App backup and restore I made a backup of the apk of google play store on Samsung.
I rooted the Spice phone and installed root browser.
I deleted the vending.apk from the system/app folder and copied the backed up play store apk renaming as vending.apk to the system/app folder of Spice Mobile.
Then Rebooted the phone.
I can launch the Play store but cannot search for any app in the search box.on clicking the magnifying glass lie icon in the upper right corner the search box does not appear.
The backup google play store version is 4.1.6
Please guide how do get the search box?
Some devices that are running Android 2.2 and above may require an additional system update to get Google Play - if you’re running Android 2.2 and above and still have the Android Market app installed, contact your carrier or manufacturer for further details
The device is out of warranty and I don't think the mobile carrier, in my case MTNL Mumbai, India can do anything
If u delete the files with system cleanup, you can see the deleted files in its own folder maybe it helps.
I have no problem with deleted files, I can't get the search box in google play store app
I managed to get the solution from a user at another forum. I can use the app SearchMarket from play store to search for apps on Google play store.

Hi,
Can I somehow erase application to Update in Play Store? I already uninstalled this (originaly distributed in stock ROM) application through root uninstaller. But it's still appears in Play Store in Update section.
Hi All,
I had just rooted my A110 and the device disappeared from the Play Store settings > Device List. I am not able to install any apps by selecting it from the Play Store via PC Browser. At the same time, I can install apps from the Play Store app of the mobile using the same Google account. I had removed the Account from the device and added again, yet the problem persists. I accessed Play Store app with a new Google account, but the device is not yet listed in that Account too, in Play Store of PC Browser.
I reported that to the Play Store Assistance of google and they replied that they do not provide assistance to rooted devices.
Any help will be really appreciated.

Please flash this via CWM
or
Clear Dalvik Cache
Clear Google Play store Cache
Clear Google framework Cache
and
Check if the location is internal or external, may be need to revert to stock vold.vstab
Device is back in Market.
I had flashed a ROM of JB - Megamax and all of a sudden, it is back.
Thank you Vipin.
Sprint gs5, CM-root, TWRP, SDfix...
I have an app which I do not want updates to...
The developer is making changes to the app to fix issues with other brands/models...
The current version works well on mine and I don't want it to update to a version which might break it for my brand/model...
In the playstore I disabled auto-update, but it still shows up in the manual and group update list...
I went into titanium (pro) and detached it from the market and it showed 'attach to market (forced)'
I checked playstore and it is off my app list...
Several minutes later it re-appeared in playstore and titanium went back to 'detach from market'
So the detach function is not sticking...
Any Ideas?

Its been an issue with Titaniium before and appears as it does on your device. Try this:
1) get the Apk you wanna detach (ex using TitaniumBackup) into location you can easily get to (ex. SD card)
2) install ZipSigner from play store
3) re-sign the extracted Apk using ZipSigner and test key
4) uninstall the original app and install the re-signed Apk you made
5) profit
Hi, I realise this is an old post but it's something I've been trying to do for a while too. I've finally accomplished it successfully so I thought I'd share it on in some of the topics.
It works by changing the apk signature so the app typically becomes 'different' to the one on the Google Play Store and therefore doesn't appear in your Google Play Store list. But by doing this, you won't be able to update the app from Play Store.
How to:
Need Root.
First do a TB backup of current apk just to keep it.
With a file explorer, go to root\data\app and copy the app apk that you want to change and paste it somewhere on SD card.
Now uninstall the app
Download and install: ZipSigner by Ken Ellinwood from Play Store.
Open ZipSigner, choose input file and navigate to earlier copied apk
I used key/mode: auto-testkey
Sign the file
The new signed apk will be put in the same directory the original file was.
Now install that signed apk and your're done. Check market.
Worked for me - hope it works for you!

Hello. I had rooted phone (sony ericsson xperia pro) according the instruction which are posted on the forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865796. I made it multiple times. Everything was ok. But I had no place on the phone so I decided to uninstall Google Play (via titanium backup). Then I installed it again (after downloading the .apk from the internet) and moved to SD. I had more space, but after running google play app, this notice has appeared : Application isn't working. Then I move it back to phone memory from the SD card but the app still have written the same thing. So I decided to restore the phone to factory settings. After restore the Google play app has not been installed. After rooting and installing the Google play app again --> the same problem. Can someone help? It is not possible to install other apps without function google play app, and some apps doesn't work correctly without it.
Need some advice pls. Thx

SOLVED: I used Titanium Backup PRO and I use possibility to forced user app to be system app, then i used Market doctor. It is possible before this step move google play app to sd card
my phone (samsung galaxy grand neo) didnt had a google play installed in it so when my brother rooted it, just by using iroot, i thought i could install google play without a doubt, so i searched for forums and i came across a forum where there is a .rar file that contains google account manger, services framework, and play store,i installed it on my phone but theres always a "google play has stopped" "google services has stopped"and when i open up the play store it always says "server error" i searched for a solution and i saw that u should put the .apk files from the rar file to the system app file using root explorer, but my problem is that it wont effin move, i tried using es file explorer, but nothin worked, i just want a play store on my phone and i want my youtube to work. i hope theres a solution to this.
