[Q] TF700 Dropped Display Issues - Asus Transformer TF700

I dropped my TF700 with the dock and it fell on its back(tablet). It closed shut and when i tried to restart it i do not see any display
later the display comes up but in jagged lines half black and half display, the touch doesn't seem to respond , i can see that it boots
and i can access it on my computer all the files and entire system but i cannot do anything with touchscreen and lcd. after repeated touching
it has the touch sound that comes not very often.
I opened the screen and i see no physical damage to the screen. Is there an inverter board of LCD that might have gone bad due to that
or has any one faced this problem , so that even if i have to order a replacment part i know which one to order first i thought of
ordering the LCD + Touchpanel but it looks like i am doubting that the LCD has gone bad.
Can anyone please help if they have faced this issue ??

Screen is blank but touch screen works ***HELP***

I recently got a touch pro of a friend with a damaged screen that didn't turn on but the touch screen was responsive. Apparently he sat on it and the screen broke.
I then acquired it and replaced the LCD screen and i turned it on but all it shows is a blank black screen with the backlight on. I was tapping while it booted up and it was making that beep noise so i know the touch screen works. What do i do now.

if the lcd is damaged and you only replaced the digitizer then that wont solve the problem, the digitizer just sits ontop of the lcd and recognizes your touches, hence why it mite know that your touching the screen but the screen is still blank

I replaced the LCD along with the digitalizer. Tats what i meant.
Sounds like either the new screen is inop on fit (fraid you need another to test, then send the first back as faulty), or the fault is not the LCD itself.
Possibily its the wrong screen, or its not installed correctly, or you damaged either the screen or the controller when installing.
I'm afraid you dont have many options - take it apart & rebuild to ensure correct parts & fitment, spend £££ on alternative parts to see whats broken (or serious £££ on test equipment!), send it off for repair or give up!
I'd go for option 1 first
If your friend sat on it hard enough to break the screen, i'd be looking for any damage / cracking to the boards / ribon cable mounts and be looking very carefully at the mountings of any IC chips. Incedently, when (s)he sat on it, did the screen work at all? and was it 100% working before they did?
Okay thanks for the replies. I just bought a flex cable where the slider thing is because the old one looked a bit old and flexed out and on inspection of the old screen i found a tiny rip on the screen's flex cable too. I wait for my cable and see if it works and if it doesn't then i'll sent the screen back as faulty and get a new one and if that doesn't work then I'll give up and sell it again
hi
sorry to wake up an old thread.
so what's your solution/conclusion?
is it the flex, or the LCD that broke?
i have the same problem right now.
thanks

[Q] [HELP] Sensation *temp* bricked? Hardware problem?

Ok I've been rooted and modding for almost 2 years now, and this is the first real problem I have had. Just know that ANY suggestions and/or info are appreciated. Ok on with the problem
It looks like the LCD is going out after living with a cracked digitizer for a couple months. first the screen just went grey static and fuzzy. I would put pressure on it, and it would come back and be fine. then it started going completely black, and then i would put pressure on the screen/smack it and it would come back. Now the LCD isn't backlit and is completely nonresponsive.
It seems like it would be a hardware issue, but Im not so sure.. It wasnt doing this at first, but now when I [pull battery and] power on, it gives that short buzz like it does when the splash screen should come up (but doesnt of course), I wait for a minute then it gives that short buzz again, and again like it is in bootloop. The only signs of life are a blinking red LED, vibrating motor, and sometimes if Im lucky the backlight on the 4 keys on the bottom.
I have no access to recovery, bootloader, or splashscreen, and not really sure what to do. Is there a chance that this is a software thing (a kid could wish). If your do believe it is the LCD where is the place to get a cheapest replacement LCD and digitizer? Also could it be a hardware issue to the fatal non-replaceable components?
FYI: rom-eyecandy with bricked kernel not overclocked
So you have damaged hardware? Cracked LCD - I think there is no need to search further for the root cause...

[Q] Is It the Digitizer that needs the replacement or is it the LCD Screen?

Hi,
History:
I've got Sony Xperia tipo. While it was in my pocket yest, I got a call and unfortunately in the hurry of picking the call i dropped the phone down. The phone's screen was the point of contact with the ground and after that my there were lines on my screen. The screen glass is intact, there are several horizontal lines making the visiblity poor. However, after the hit, touch has become a bit unresponsive. it hangs for 17 seconds exactly and then resumes to work fine.. this lag occurs quite frequently....
Problem:
> horizontal Lines have appeared on the screen, thus making the visibility poor
> Becomes unresponsive for 17 seconds, after that throws an error notification "the "------ " became unresponsive.
Question:
> Is it the digitizer or LCD screen or is it something else at fault ?
Please Help me in resolving this issue
Thanks in advance
Have a nice day
If touch doesn't work and the screen is weird, then you'll probably need to replace both.
With how the screen looks, you need to replace the LCD screen, the digitizer MAY be okay still. If you open the phone up and check to see if there is a loose wire. If there is, reconnect it and then put the phone back together. If there is no lag after that then the digitizer will be fine, if there is lag then you will need to replace the digitizer as there is a fault in the wiring.

HELP!

Okay so yesterday I came back upstairs from doing some stuff downstairs. i pulled my phone out of my pocket and bam, there's a white screen with colored lines all over my screen vertically. Almost like if you would take the screen and stretch it as much as you could. You can t see anything. So i decide to see if the touchscreen still works and well, it does! I can even receive phone calls.
The phone is rooted, and has a cracked but functional digitizer, no water damage nothing. I have tried turning it off and on, and well in order to take the battery out i would need to open it, which i only want to do if i need to replace the LCD.
So my question is, Is it the LCD that needs to be replaced, or could it be the hardware. Any fixes guys?
(first time on XDA, can't wait to join the community!!)
At&t Htc one mini
(The screen has previous cracks, but this problem occurred way after those were made)
I think that the LCD Panel is damaged, it is not the hardware since your touch screen is working and colours can be visible on the screen. So just change the LCD Panel:thumbup:

Problem with Display-exchange

Hello,
First of all i dont know if this is the right forum for my question. If not so please notice me.
After my Z5 dropped on the floor i got an broken Display. I bought a new Display and changed it, but i think i broke the LCD-Flexcable after i pulled carefully on it to get it inside the case. The effect is after phone turn on i get only the backlight but the screen remains black. So for a test i switched my old broken display in it but the effect is the same, only backlight and black screen. After a few seconds the phone led blinks 3 times red and the phone restarts. What the heck is now? Anybody get the same case? I handled the mainboard with care, dont remember to damaged the connector in anyway. Does the Flexcable needs to be protected with a tape so it couldnt be grounded on someway?
Sorry for my bad english. Thanks for any help!
After a second and a third display swap the error is still the same. It seems somehow i damaged the motherboard. I swapped the phone against a new one.
Please help, same problem ...
