HI
Yes... Simple..
Regards
It doesnt work, it says something about not being able to find the indicated storage card. How do i use this with my mini sd inside my G3 wizard? with WM6 "the real thing" flashed to it,
Its not working for me either... I copied the files from the compressed folder and into the root of my mini SD card and with the default settings I clicked "Activate" and I got the following error: "can't open the selected card/disk device". What am I missing?
try other version of wm5storage then... one of them must work.
and make SR after install to be sure, if its not working...
cannot check, but theres version, that works...1.73 works, i think:

Are you copying WM5torage to your SD Card? Try and copy into My Device\Prgram Files\WM5torage and then try and activate it... If I'm not mistaken access to the SD card is lost on the Wizard if you enable WM5torage.. Thus having the application installed on the SD card cannot grant access to the SD Card because WM5torage itself (or perhaps other apps) are currently hogging access to the SDCard

Yes, this is correct and that simple...
I copied it to program files on the storage memory and it still doesn't work. Same error comes up, and its version 1.73

You've got both the WM5torage.exe AND the DLL and you installed from CAB and restarted as it demanded right?
yes I have both the .exe and .dll but I don't have a cab to install it and I did not restart.

Install it on the device. Not the storage card.
Like what was said by TipEx "Try and copy into My Device\Prgram Files\WM5torage and then try and activate it..."
i don't have cab to install it, i just copy it from the zip file to my device but it still doesnt work. do i start this before i connect a usb cable or while its connected?
Both order should not have problem.
However despite I can run wm5torage and connect to desktop successfully (Built into WM6 Underground), the connection is very slow (<20kb/s) and unstable (displaying I/O error while copying), I don't know what the problem is.

Where I should put converted files? The wikiconvert made one folder ''wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_idx'' with ''segments'' and 3 files ''wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_1.lwk'', ''wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_2.lwk'', ''wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_3.lwk'', when I put them on my sdcard the application give me terminate ,,No wikipedia detected. Please load a wikipedia offlina on sdcard. More info in [page adress]. Wikipedia english language is 8Gb''
My wikipedia dump is polish.
Thanks You!
I am still trying to get this to work as the screenshots suggests it should be a really nice reader.
Does anyone know more about this?
Here is a link btw. http://www.leobueno.net/PaginaProyectoSoft.php?id=WIKI_ANDROID
Sry, for double post but i just managed to get that thing to work!
Its easy, just copy all generated files including the idx folder and the "wiki.tag" file to the root of your sd card.
Works like a charm.
Thanks for figuring that out, I've been wondering where to put files for the Leo reader. Can I ask if you've found it's possible to put some or all of the lwk files somewhere other than on the sdcard? Alas I don't have 8GB free on my sdcard for the English files, but I could put most of them in /mnt/emmc on my nook color (CM7).

On my sd card I have:
1. pages-articles.xml
2. segments
3. wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_1.lwk
4. wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_2.lwk
5. wiki_prefix_like_enwiki_3.lwk
Still does not works...
How can I get the "wiki.tag" file?
I just put all files the converter generated on the sd card. Try converting the dump again and keep track of all the files and directories it generates. Those belong on the sd card.
I have found a better solution yesterday, though:
The Aard Dictionary Reader can be used to read the wikipedia as well. Formatting is a lot better than with the leobueno reader - in fact it looks exactly like the original wikipedia. It also includes tables, math formulas and a few images wich show rendered content like the periodic table - all in the exact way it looks on your desktop.
Its also possible to load multiple dictionarys (e.g. more than one wikipedia language, wikiquotre and wiktionary) and search through all of them at the same time.
Converting xml-dumps is only possible with linux at the moment, but you can download converted versions in many languages directly from thir site.
You can get the free and open source .apk here.

i have no idea where to type: "wikiconvert "your downloaded and extracted xml file" -owiki_prefix_like_enwiki -n" to generate .lwk files, im on WinXP, do i put it in run or in command prompt?
Download pages-articles.xml.bz2 from "url" and extract the xml file using a compressor tool like 7zip.
Wikiconvert tool
uncompress this file in the same folder as the xml and type:
wikiconvert "your downloaded and extracted xml file" -owiki_prefix_like_enwiki -n
In some minutes you get some wiki_prefix_like_enwiki*.* files. Copy to the sdcard of your phone and run the wikipedia reader.
There is no problem having several wikipedias in your sdcard.
Edit: I got it to work! i downloaded a different wikiconvert zip which didn't contain the .exe file no wonder i cant execute to generate the lwks, all is good now

you get the wiki.tag file automatically after conversion using wikiconvert. Its better to run the batch file provided in the zip(only after editing the batch file so that the file names of the wikidump is consistent). I think u will get the wiki.tag file only if you use -n as given in the example:
wikiconvert "your downloaded and extracted xml file" -owiki_prefix_like_enwiki -n
Just tested this on the recent wikipedia dump. The wikiconvert executable crashes at 96.57% every time.
if you are using external sd card for storing the wikipedia then follow it here:
some Chinese Android phones have small internal storage, below than 2 gb mostly, if you want to store apps in External sd cards like this one. with English Wikipedia almost greater than 9GB you must store those files on external device & due to the android limitaion you can't install apps to external drives. you must install it to the internal phone memory or internal phone storage. to save it in external drive plz follow the steps.
1. install GL to SD app from the play store.
2. open it & click options then select move data to sd & select an app you want to move to sd.
3. now back, move the folder in which the converted wikipedia files are & copy it to your external sd card folder data/ & that apps folder which you have moved to sd via GL to SD app.
4 now open GL to SD click mount. & open the leo's wikipedia reader.
Make sure you have rooted phone & the wiki.tag file is copied to the root of external drive.
i have successfully done it with my Qmobile Noir A6 {Rooted}. {MediaTek Chipset} {Running Android 4.0 ICS}
i love fastwiki but that app mostly crashes all the time when you are searching articles. fast wiki has night mode & more options too. both are good try it & make a choice of your own. By the way its my 1st post in XDA forum. sorry for my bad English.
I'm trying to take off the partition on my sdcard. Can someone please help do this?

usually to remove petitions on any sort of storage device, you will have to reformat the data from the petition. so just make a copy of all the files and reformat it

assuming you have a custom recovery installed (like clockworkmod), you can re-partition your SD card from there quite easily.

Hi,
Use a card reader, and open it on your pc/laptop.
Use Control + A , Control + C .
This will copy all your files folders and hidden files, and paste them into a new folder on your desktop.
Go online and get "G-Parted Live" (google it).
Use this to delete partitions and format your sd card, then put everything back on it.
I downloaded the latest superuser zip and native tethering zip and neither one is showing up in Clockworks recovery. I followed these directions from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpnVV2VqHR4&feature=youtu.be and got all the way up to flash zip and can't find zip files anywhere.
I placed the files on the root of the sd card and in the downloads folder in the sd card and still no luck

Some of you have likely figured this out, but after spending a few minutes poking around ES File Explorer Pro and being unable to locate my 64GB SD card, I finally found the location.
From the root of Device Storage, go to /storage/. Your name will likely vary, but mine was found as /storage/6D31-DA1D.
Having an SD card in my work S5, it was much easier and just required looking for ExtSDCard under /mnt/.

Just to add, the same applies to a SD card attached using an OTG adapter as well. Not as much need to use OTG now except for those times when you just want to transfer something over quickly.

6D31-DA1D looks like the assigned serial number after the card is formatted. If that is true, then everyone will have to look for a different hex number for their card.
BTW is ES File Explorer allowed write access the SD card without root?

First time you try to write to the SD card, you get prompted to follow some steps. From there on, it can write to the card without error. Created a test folder and file on the root to verify.

So I gather that Marshmallow didn't inherit the Lollipop "Apps can't write to SD card" rule. That's good news. I prefer to transfer files from my PC to the phone via WiFi. Never made sense to have to use two file managers to copy files to the SD card.

They are restricted by default, but you can grant them access if they've been updated to know how to properly request it. Google made that change awhile ago, but most apps or OEMs never implemented it.

I don't believe it needs root to achieve this. I've done it before. It's just not working now for whatever reason.

This happened to me after running Package Disabler, also complete inability to write to SD card with ES, MI, or any other file explorer. Turns out Package Disabler flags External Storage(com.android.externalstorage) as bloatware and I had to make sure I unchecked and enabled it again.

I don't think Root Explorer is the issue because no file manager app I've tried allows me to write to the sd card.
