[Q] S-Off | Relock | OTA - How to do this things? - HTC Sensation

Hey,
I decided to make S-Off with the JuopunutBear methode but I have some problmes.
1. I unlocked my HTC Sensation by HTCDev and flashed the Inspiration rom. If I want to use the JuopunutBear methode I have to flash the Stock RUU (1.50.401.1), isn't it?
2. When I want to flash the Stock RUU I have to relock / lock my bootloader again and what I'm doing after relocking? I know how to relock but I want to unlock my Bootloader after the process again, is this possible?
I think that was all Sorry for the issues in the text.

it is possible to unlock it again
just use this time the unlock code.bin to flash it via fastboot command
done
but actually you can flash the stock rom from recovery and then follow the juopunutbear method.i think it will work

You need S-OFF if you want to change the hboot/bootloader or the radio. SInce you have the latest versions of both it is not necessary at this moment. In you need to S-OFF by any reason it is possible via downgrading to older version that is supported by Revolutionary.
If you unlock the bootloader with HTCDev.com you will remain S-ON but will have the ability to flash custom Recovery, Kernel or ROMs and rooting as well. So basically you have the freedom to change your system according to your preferences
Hi thanks for the reply,
so it`s not neccessary to S-off to be able to root the phone? I will do some more reading before I take the plunge as I do not want to brick my new phone
Cheers Nexus04

Exactly.
Basically you will need to unlock your hboot at htcdev.com, then flash a custom recovery then
1) flash Superuser to have root or
2) flash a custom ROM, they are all prerooted

What about relocking hboot?
Thanks for your input into this thread by the way, I was led to believe according to the guide section that you must be s-off (therefore downgrade from 2.00.0002) in order to flash custom roms.

AFAK re-locking the bootloader is necessary only when you want to run a RUU (to restore the Stock configuration if needed)

Just in case I was to send my device for a warranty fix or such!
Unlocking the bootloader at htcdev will void your warranty.
I am patiently waiting for May 2012 for my warranty to be over and then I will unlock my boot loader..
As said the htcdev unlock void your warranty, it will send the info of your phone to HTC.
You can do the HBOOT downgrade http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399331 and use Revolutionary to get S-OFF and if you need the warranty you can use eng hboot and flash a new RUU to get back to stock and S-ON.

[Q] Unlocked, S-ON want to restore to stock ROM but can't use RUU

My Desire S was unlocked but still S-ON.
I want to change back to stock ROM and stock recovery.
I've try
- RUU_Saga_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.1_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199476_signed
- RUU_Saga_HTC_Thailand_1.35.1113.2_Radio_20.28d.30.0805U_3805.04.02.01_M_release_183327_signed
but it doesn't work.
What method should I use to restore my phone without rooting (hboot 2.00.002).
Thank you.
P.S. Sorry for poor English.
You need to relock your bootloader before installing RUU.
Code:
fastboot oem lock

It's working but still got an error [140] bootloader version error (different from the first error before relocked).
I bought in Thailand so I think I should use this one
RUU_Saga_HTC_Thailand_1.35.1113.2_Radio_20.28d.30.0805U_3805.04.02.01_M_release_183327_signed
It has only one version of Thailand's RUU.
What should I do now?

[Q] Hboot 1.18 unlocked bootloader, need help upgrading to ICS

I have hboot 1.18, with bootloader unlocked using HTC Dev, and I'm running ARHD with stock kernel.
Revolutionary gives me the zerg root error, so I used HTC Dev method. But now I'm unable to use the tacoroot method because my bootloader is unlocked. I tried relocking the bootloader, but that gives me a security warning and I can't boot my phone normally without unlocking it again.
Can someone please tell me how to upgrade to ICS now?
I'm a noob and I don't want to experiment too much and brick my phone.

hmm by relocking you mean fastboot oem lock ?
that should not give security warning...
also before trying tacoroot ...you should flash stock recovery first...any GB stock recovery would do...(fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
I had a NANDROID backup which I made just after unlocking the bootloader and rooting my phone. I restored that backup before relocking (fastboot oem lock) but it gave me the security warning.
Also, what if I relock the bootloader and then run a BG RUU? Would that work?

I've recently up and downgraded from 3.32 to 3.33 and back.
I've S-OFF'd my device with Revolutionary.
So on 3.32 my device showed HBOOT 1.27.XXXX (dunno right now), S-OFF and REVOLUTIONARY on top.
On 3.33 it said S-OFF and LOCKED... This is quite annoying because I like fastboot
This and a "slowdown issue" on Viper Rom made me to go back to 3.32 - just go to the Firmwares thread and download the PG58IMG.zip and put it on your SDCard - now boot to bootloader and flash the PG58IMG
By the way, normally you can flash any rom with S-OFF on, you just need to get root by something like zergRush (dunno right now which tool).
S-ON meant at least on my previous phone that you can change the content of /system only within recovery. You weren't able to change your stock recovery to CWM, so you had to use "fake-flash" - you actually apply an update.zip that contained your CWM Recovery...
S-OFF meant you can change /system on a running android and change your recovery and don't have to use FakeFlash (like 3 seconds faster )

[Q] unlock bootloader on hboot 2.14

Sorry for may bad english
I have htc one xl,in android ics 4.0.4 hboot 1.14 i unlocked bootloader and s-off cid is 11111111 ,then i wants up to JB 4.1.1 i relock bootloader i flash hboot 2.14 on topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156368 then used rom.zip from RUU.exe rename to PJ83IMG.zip then flash it with fastboot it success, now i wants root so i flash TWRP.img but it not success my one x not connect my computer in fastboot mode and MTP mode too so i can't copy music, video and everything
at the same time i unlocked bootloader with Unlock_code.bin but it not at success :silly:
now i wants unlock bootloader anh flash recovery to use customs tom ........... help me ! solution for me ???
Just try to unlock with the token again. Sometimes it takes multiple (even many) attempts.
And why on earth did you go through all that, just to install Jellybean? If you were already S-off and bootloader unlocked, you could have just flashed a stock rooted ROM.
