I am looking to buy a new headphone for my GT P7300. Im confused whether I should buy the newer Samsung S4 headphones or should i stick with the same S1 headset ? The S4, S3 and s2 got volume controls while the S1 does not. But i don't have any idea which is the best in terms of sound quality.
I brought the original samsung s4 headphones. Comparing with the S1 headphones that comes default with GT 8.9:
- Sound is a lil bit better and deeper.
- Volume control, the flat cord and adjustable wire splitter (or pinner or whatever its called), is a plus.
Design wise, i like the S1 better. Its has a more raw look while the S4 has a round ballish outward look that is bit protruding out of the ears.
Samsung s4 headphone are great , i used them for my p7300 1 year ago , get no problem
The only problem is that they are white

Hello,
I currently have an original Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I watch a lot of movies on it. I purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 because of the front facing speakers and I thought the volume would be louder. When I compared the two, I noticed that the Tab 2's volume was not as loud and it sounded tinny. Can anyone advise if the speakers on the Note 10.1 are better/louder? Does anyone have a Note 10.1 and a Tab 2 they can compare?
Thanks for any answers in advance,
I've got them both.In my opinion the note sounds alot better!

So in your opinion the Note is louder and doesnt sound as tinny?
If so, then I'm going to pick up one of those bad boys....
the note is better since the sound is coming straight at you instead of to the sides. I actually use the external speakers more often now than with the gtab 10.1.
Ditto. I never use the speakers on my other devices. I use bt speakers or headphones.
I was actually asking if they sound better than the Galaxy Tab "2", not the original tab. I have the original tab, bought the tab 2 and returned it because the speaker were crap..LOL. Do you have a "TAB 2 10.1" and a "NOTE 10.1"? If so, is the NOTE louder? I hope so... :fingers-crossed:

No worries. Although someone has to have the two tablets. Anyone? Hello??
Samsung.com says the note 10.1 has soundalive which sounds great on my notebook, but samsung.co.uk says it has 3d sound, no mention of soundalive , I have the Tab 2 10.1 , no soundalive or 3d sound mentioned for that one, though i am quite happy with the sound, it could be a bit louder though, I have an Note 10.1 on order so i will be able to compare them.

Thanks John, looking forward to hearing about your results.
I currently have a gal tab 10.1. Speakers sound pretty good for facing our the sides, but I think this Note 10.1 sounds better. I do use the speakers so that was important to me. Enough so that I didn't buy the Asus Transformer Infinity because the speaker on it is basically worthless .
I'm still waiting on someone who has both tablets and can say that the NOTE 10.1 is noticibly louder than the TAB 2.
It needs to be compared to a TAB 2 , not the original TAB 10.1.
People keep posting how the note seems louder than their orginal 10.1...
BTW, I'm not complaining, just anxiously waiting before I give Best Buy $535.
Thanks,
Rich

I used to have a tab 2 but took it back due to sub par performance. To me, the note 10.1 speakers seem better and are definitely bigger, but I can't say definitively since I haven't had them side by side. My advise would be to try out the note and take advantage of the 30 day best buy return policy if it's not to your standards sound-wise.

I don't have Tab2 10.1", but I did try it on the samsung shop display.
Comparing to the Note 10.1" which I have right now... I can tell you Note 10.1" is louder, and better than the tab2 10.1".
And yes, it has a 3D surround sound, which makes even a lot better when you watch movies on your Note 10.1".
In fact, some of the default ringtones of Note 10.1" also sample(s) of the 3D sound.
I have both the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1. I tested the tablets side-by-side by playing the same song from identical MP3 file, using the stock music player with maximum volume for both. I even measured the volume using the Sound Meter app on my Galaxy S2. I can say that the Note is slightly louder (only by 2-3 dB), but the Tab 2 has crisper sound.

Thanks for your input, your post is exactly what I needed to make a decision! :good:
Does anyone have a note 10.1 and a Samsung tv soundbar with bluetooth/wireless. Im thinking about buying a soundbar but was wondering if you could stream from the note to the soundbar, also what is the sound quality like?
i was thinking of buying the HW-E551 46". it has bluetooth where the some dont, and a review on the samsung site says streaming via bluetooth works for phones/tablets unsure of the sound quality though!
ok thats cool then, cheers. I have the Samsung d8000 46" and the note works well with, but now my only draw back is the sound quality from both devices. So I thought are these bluetooth sound bars up to scratch
That's a great question! I have a Bluetooth samsung soundbar at home, but I won't be home for a week and a half to check it out. The HDMI sound is excellent given the soundbar's size. But I have not tried it with Bluetooth yet. I don't know the model number off hand, it would be great if it had apt-x, but I doubt it does.
hi
I bought a headphone for my old phone (motorola atrix) which works quite well, now I got a nexus 4 and Galaxy s4, and I plug the headphone in to either phone, I can see the headphone is detected, but the sound is extremely low (max volume can barely heard soud). then I tried a iPod headphone and worked normally. I compare the plug, and they are exactly the same.
why is happening that? if I want to buy new headphone, how can I know if it's compatible?
I'm assuming you have high end headphones. If so then you'll need a portable dac/amp to make them sound good on the S4 or Nexus 4. The atrix has a Wolfson dac, which is better than Qualcomm's, and is more than likely why they sound good paired with the Atrix. The only Galaxy S4 variant with the Wolfson audio chip is the I9500.

Been using the moto x 2013 for some time now and its just about perfect. I dont game, my use is heavy on web, text. The problem with my X is that the microphone doesnt seem to work anymore, I have to carry a wired or bluetooth to talk on the phone...which is a pain.
I want something small, similar in size, to replace it. Ive narrowed it down to a S4 or LG G2. Which would you guys recommend? Anyone else make a move from the X 2013 to one of these models?
Thanks,
Mario
If it is bought new, sure. But second hand you can get more recent models at the same prices.
Based solely on the specs, I would go for the G2. When I'm looking for a phone the first thing I look at is the performance, and, looking at the hardware, the G2 is better equipped than the S4. But this is just on paper.
For all I know, the real world performance may be the same.
I am satisfied with the S4
Thanks. Yeah either the G2 or S4 new is what I want, just curious to hear what folks think getting a 2.5 year old device. Id get a new flagship but all of them are just too big.
Get the snapdragon variant. The exynos overheats
S4 is still a very good phone: it can run without problems marshmallow custom roms and you can play on it big games like fifa 16 or asphalt. But if you want a good new phone and almost same dimensions like s4, I recommand OnePlus X.
I don't think S4 will be a good idea now. I had both versions (GT-I9500 and GT-I9505) before I moved for Xperia Z3 D6643. Unfortunately, I have damaged my Z3 and until it got fixed, I will be using the GT-i9505 again.
This phone is driving me crazy, even with max brightness, it's impossible (looks like a black screen) to use it under sunligh. 3G, and 4G (not to talk about GPS) data drains a huge % of battery, average screen on time is about 3-3,5h, no battery optmizations.
The Z3 (5.2") and Z3 compact (4.6") are the best options when talking about cost x benefit. Almost 10h screen on time and +800h standby time.
Thanks all. I kept looking and looking for new S4 or g2 but everything out on the Bay was new "other" or sellers with tons of negative feedback. Lots of positive but also much negative. I just saw no trusty sellers. Ended up pulling trigger on oneplus x. Now the wait for it begins. Hope oxygen is decent.

i have S4 now frome aboute 1 year and realy i am happy with

@spawk
Samsung has it's own update cycle. Most flagships get support from Samsung up to 2 years after released.
And, in 2016, Galaxy S4 won't be supported anymore.

The Only thing that is extremely bad about i9505 is its sound quality in earphones. On gsmarena u will see they will say it has best audio quality but in reality its far far away from the best its so flat and dumb.Even all the chinese phones sound better than it there is literally no bass at all in the sound and if u increase it by an equalizer the volume decreases alot.
You could also try i9506 S4 LTE+/LTE A
Ive been using this device for a long time now. Recently broke my galaxy note 3's lcd and sold my lg g2. Back on my i9506 and still good. Its not far with g2 in terms performance. Although I use 2 batteries on my i9506 but hey, great device

Sound quality depends a lot on the headphones. I hardly think that in-ear ear buds are great at producing bass.
Let's not forget about the song quality too. Anything with a bitrate lower than 320KBPS will have its quality reduced. So always go for 320 or FLAC.
It can have the best sound chip in the world if the headphones are garbage and the music file has static noise.

There are always better devices. My 2 other devices (An ZTE Blade and LG P350) sound crappy compared to my S4.
That's why there are mods like viper4android. With the right setup you can get nice bass.
Besides, stuff like this is just a preference. I, for instance, don't like heavy basses. I like to listen to the music, not the "boom boom" sound of the bass.

I Dont like much bass either but the sound of i9505 compared to Sony Xperia Z2,Galaxy Grand Prime,Galaxy J5,Galaxy Ace 3 and the desktop computer is really flat and lacking.I can hear more elements in even samsungs lowest end phones than i9505 using the same earphones
Stay away from S4.
- Lollipop roms are okay but not very fast.
- Exynos AND snapdragon can overheat actually depends on the kernel.
- microphone distortion (personally) which I can hear as I play back the call recording
- not as fast or smooth as I expected for quad core when I previously had S5 mini
- Sometimes run out of ram but not too often
Generally just don't expect much. The specs look really good on paper but it's actually not that good a phone.
The screen resolution is very high which is nice.
Camera quality / focus is average as well. Slow to focus. Quality average.
I suggest buy 2nd hand used S5 or S6.
Unfortunately no S6 mini.
@fatjoez
1. Really? 5.1.1 is okay for me.
2. I've a device with Intel processor and it does the same thing. In short: All CPUs could overheat.
3. -skipped-
4. Blame Samsung's policies.
5. I'm only felt it on TW ROMs.
And no, I won't buy Exynos devices. Devices with Snapdragon SOCs are the best choice.
But, it's up to you. I couldn't interfere your mind.

Well I bought a oneplus x. Been using it for one day and I'm not sure about it. Works OK. Speed us good but it's just too big. I just wish I could find a phone the same size as the 2013 moto x. Now I'm thinking either a S4 or Z5 compact. :/

Hi there My question is about the music sound quality you get and why?
I have a Samsung Note One just to listen to Spotify because I get the best sound from my Sennheiser Momentum inears.
I need to because my daily phone the Samsung J7 2016 is not even close producing the sound I get from my Note One.
My question(s) is how is this possible with the years in-between those devices have?
Shouldn't it be the same or better.
What makes the sound come off better between some devices.
I would my next phone have the same sound quality or better(???) like my Samsung Note One, how do can I see this in the specs or know this before I buy it?
A phone that old keeps surprising me.
i enjoy it everyday!
Could be great if someone could make jukebox rom for this phone so it only runs and updates players like Spotify.
I hope to get some answers to my questions, I'm realy confused why the sound quality difference.
