Thanks
I've seen this from the faq in the HTC...
I am getting a good WLAN signal but I cannot connect to any websites. On your handset, 1. Click start > settings > connctions > connections > Advanced >Select Networks: Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: "Internet".
2. Click start > settings > connections > connections >Edit my proxy server: Disable "This network use a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
Click to collapse
But i do not have "Internet" option to choose.. i only have "My ISP" and the "The Work Network"...
It shouldn´t matter if it is set to "My work"
You can go to Settings - connections - networkcard
Networkcard - choose SDIO -> conntect to Internet
Do a softreset.
Then go to start - setting - connections - connections - advanced - select network
choose for the upper one "My ISP2 or your "Operator"
And when you are connected to Wifi go to Commanager - Menue- WIFI settings - now there is your Wifi listed. Edit it by click and select "Connect to Internet"
for the on ebelow "Programms....." "Internet"
Hope it will work
Thanks for your kind help..
I do not have "Network Card" under "Settings-> Connections Tab".. so what i did is i open "Wireless LAN" Under "Connections TAB".. i Tap "Menu" then "Network Card"..
In "Network Cards".. i cant see "SDIO" but i can see "SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter" under "Network Adapter" im still in the "Network Card" but there is no "Connect to Internet"..
wohow.. im getting confuse..

setting up proxy for my wireless....

I have a problem of setting up http proxy server for my wireless connection.
What I have done is:
1. in settings -> connections
automatically connecting to internet by using: My ISP
automatically connecting to private network by using: My Work Network.
2. In My Work Network -> proxy settings
ticks, this network connects to internet
ticks, this network use a proxy server to connect to internet.
advanced:
HTTP: proxy.proxy.proxy: 8080
3. Set my wireless connection connect to Work network.
However, after the wireless was enabled, my proxy setting alway vanished away, like I haven't setup any proxy setting at all.
If I want to try to re-set my proxy server again in My Work Network. It will vanished away when I back to setting panel.
But if I disable the wireless connection, then my proxy setting can stay there. If my wireless turned on again, my proxy setting would gone immdiately.
Do you know what's wrong?

[Q] Tasker: Best Method for Automatic HotSpot Activation

Hey Guys -
I've played with Tasker for a couple of months now and it's the #1 reason I like Android! I'm trying to set up a specific task and have many options as to how to go about it. I've tried a few things myself as you'll see below, but it doesn't always work well. Therefore, I wanted to post to see what the community suggested...
Goal
When at home or work, WiFi is On and Bluetooth is off
When not at home or work, HotSpot is On (Therefore also turning off WiFi) and Bluetooth is on
My Questions
1. Do you suggest I use Tasker's Location, AutoLocation's GeoFence, AutoLocation's Location, , AutoLocation's "Fuse", Near WiFi, a combination of these, or something else?
2. What's the best suggestion you have as to set this up to run as smoothly as possible? I'm concerned about battery, but would give it up if it meant it worked better.
Methods
I've come across a few different ways to do this. Below is what I've considered / tried so far:
- Location Based (Native Tasker)
- Location Based (AutoRemote)
This has GeoFencing and Location profiles. According to the app's FAQ, Geofencing is low power and uses cell + WiFi signals and Location uses GPS. It also says the can work together using "Fuse Location" but I cannot find that option
- WiFi Near (Native Tasker)
Note: I do keep the Location setting for Tasker set to "High Accuracy" in Android's settings
My Current Setup
Currently, I use Tasker's native Location but have found it doesn't work that well. Below's how I have it set up:
- Task: "Enable HotSpot"
- Enables Hotspot / Wait 3 Sec / Disable Bluetooth
- Task: "Disable Hotspot"
- Enables WiFi (Disabling Hotspot) / Enable Bluetooth
- Profile: Home - (Location)
- Task: "Disable Hotspot"
- Exit Task: "Enable HotSpot"
- Profile Work (Location)
- Task: "Disable Hotspot"
- Exit Task: "Enable HotSpot"
My Ideal Setup
I'd like to have it use one of the Locations OR well as WiFi near to trigger. Since you can't directly set an "OR" command in tasker, I am trying a workaround which does the following:
- Task: "Dummy"
- Wait 1ms
- Profile Home (Location)
- State: Location
- Task: Dummy
- Profile Work (Location)
- State: Location
- Task: Dummy
- Profile Near WiFi
- State: Near WiFI HOMESSID/WORKSSID
- Task: Dummy
- Task: "Disable HotSpot"
- Enables WiFi (Disabling Hotspot) / Enable Bluetooth
- Task: "Enable Hotspot"
- Wait 10 Seconds
- If %PACTIVE doesn't match *,Home (Location),*|*,Work (Location,*
- Enables HotSpot (Disables WiFi) / Disable Bluetooth
- End if
- Profile: Auto Hotspot
- State: Variable -> Variable Value: %PACTIVE Matches *,Home (Location),*|*,Work (Location,*
- Task: "Disable Hotspot"
- Exit Task: "Enable Hotspot"
All of the above basically because Tasker doesn't have an "OR" command.
So... what do you think? Have any suggestions? Thanks!

proxy settings with wifi

Hello,
Mate 7 Marshmallow B560
I have to connect to an open wireless router with proxy.
At the first connection on this wifi, the advanced settings of wifi are not available.
If afterwards I go back in wifi settings I have access to advanced settings and I can enter the proxy and associated port BUT the Connect button is grayed out!
Same problem with secure wifi wap or another when we return in advanced settings after accessing the wifi once: the Connect button is grayed out. It must be accessed from the first wifi coonexion.
Do you have a solution ?
thank you in advance
François
Hello,
Same problem for me... is there a solution ?

Manually connect to wifi not broadcasting ssid

I saved my home wifi network profile and set it to connect automatically but as soon as I disable broadcasting ssid in the router, it wouldn't connect. I don't see any place to manually input ssid and password. It was there on previous Android versions.
Isn't that under add Wi-Fi network any longer?
I'm using a Note 8 ROM, and I believe the networking setup is the same as stock S8.
Go to Settings/Connections/Wi-Fi and at the bottom is "Add network".
The settings you need are there.
