Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt jelly bean supposed to allow you to change the pen type (pen to pencil to highlighter to eraser etc.) when you press the button? It doesnt seem to work for me. Do I need to change the settings? If so, how? I couldnt seem to find it.

Air view must be enabled....... then the spen must be held with in the air view operating distance. I know that it works in the S Note app and sketchbook by autodesk, anyone know of any other apps that this works in?
I know that it does not work in "Note Anytime" and the eraser function on the spen with eraser does not in this app either.

Cool, thanks a lot. I have the air view enabled, I just didnt know that I have to have the pen near the screen for it to work. Thanks again
I have another question/a problem, it only change from pen to eraser then highlighter. Once it switch to the highlighter it doesnt go back to the pen. Is that supposed to happen? Also can I change what it changes to? I only want it to be the pen and eraser.

My favourite so far is Papyrus, the notes are vectors, so you can copy and paste or move them. Still in beta, I'm thinking this has a lot of potential.

That is cool how you can use your finger to delete.
I like the organisation of the notes too, with multiple pages per note.
Although I haven't used it, I think Freenote has a better system for actually entering in and editing your handwriting. Whilst you're writing word, it lets you undo each stroke, similar to Papyrus, but once you finish a word, each word is saved as on object in the note and then you can select individual words and edit them. I think this would make going back and correcting spelling mistakes, poor penmanship etc. a lot easier. Plus I like the way you can highlight text in Freenote.
I think if Papyrus can get some good functions for S Pen button, that would be cool too.
Awesome... Got it installed now. It's pretty smooth, and I'm glad to see that the sheet size is essentially unlimited.
Anybody have any idea where the note files are stored? I can find the PDF file if I've tried to export the note, but can't find any sign of it before attempting to export.
I am on Criselkos ICS ROm and my pen is not recognized by Papyrus. Anyone else having this issue?

I particularly like the fact that everything you write becomes a vector. I understand this is only a beta but here are a few suggestions that could possibly be implemented in a final version :
- if writing (or drawing) becomes a vector image, why not add tools that allow you to change size / orientation ?
- i noticed you can not (unless i missed something) copy/cut a part of a note to paste it on the next (or any other) page. This is quite frustrating if you've started taking a note and finally decided you'd rather have it on the next page.
I personally set my page size setting to A4 as a standard. That way when i export my files (via dropbox or directly send them through email) they appear in a "normal" size for computer users (including me for filing or archives...).
The feel of the writing is very smooth, sensitive and overall enjoyable. Keep up the good work !

I have installed it, but the s-pen does not function whilst using the app.
There is a setting that says "enable active pen" but it is greyed out, saying "this device is not active pen enabled"

I'm not able to download this app from the Play Store. I'm on Stunner. I think it's because Neobuddy uses Nexus framework right now and it isn't compatible with it supposedly.

really a good app...the function i like the most is the ability to detect s-pen and the touch from the hand while writing is the best...Samsung should consider including in the S-note

Definitely still to slow but has some potential, I'm still very partial to lecture notes (ICS only), the pace that that guy update the app with tweaks is crazy, if anything he has too many settings, but the advantage is you can tailor the note taking to your style.

I just installed the new firmware upgrade to jelly bean, but i seem to have lost my little dot on the screen when i hover over it. It says
in the new pen settings page that it's a feature and should happen, but it doesn't.
Anything i can do to fix that ? it's a pretty solid feature i rely on a lot for drawing

For some reason i wasn't able to get into the air view settings until i reset it twice in a row with air view enabled, sorted now

Yeah it's enabled, i disabled it, restarted it, and enabled it again just for good measure.
Just now restarted it with it enabled to try all possibilities, no dice

The little stylus tracking dot on the screen is missing on my note since the jellybean update. I can enable the airview functions okay & they all work but the little tiny dot that existed on ICS is not there when I hover the stylus over the screen. I miss this function especially when drawing or editing documents, has anyone still got this with Jellybean or has the feature been removed?

System settings, SPen, Airview. Simple.
My air view hover icons are working but one thing that isn't is a hover icon while in edit mode in S note. Has anyone else noticed that this is missing? I have the circle air view icons in view mode, and the scroll arrows in either mode, but no hover when editing!

Its for stock ROM. I may take a look later but for now it may or may not work on custom roms.

It only triggers Air Command menu so I cannot change its behavior .

tested on my exynos sm-900, sadly pen window function not working with finger for me even now.. air command just closes on finger touch on the last option...then nothing happens...
About scrapbook, i do use it from time to time...nothing i can't "live" without..but if and when you do have some free time then please do look into it.

edit : also i noticed that if i use your app and select pen-window (last option) with my s-pen, then for a brief second the pencil+blue line icon appears underneath the s-pen point, then disappears immediately..however if i press the button on the s-pen to invoke air -command, the pencil and blue line icon stays until i draw a square with my s-pen or launch something else with my fingers.

Maybe its different on 4.3. I tested it on 4.4.2 Lets wait for someone else to try it. Can you email me ([email protected]) RakeIn.apk and RakeIn.odex from /system/app?

Yes it's works. I have installed oyen window manager and launcher. The last button open pen launcher (pen window). Works great. The second button doesn't work and the third button (flashannotate) make fc. Have installed flashannotate too. I tried to take an screenshot and then use the third button but fc too.

From the description that is what it does... I am looking for a way to change the app shortcuts when I open it from the pen.
Tried the donate version and uninstalled it. I would not recommend trying it at this time since it's still in development. The custom air command menu is not working on our tablet (it just force closes) and as far as I can tell you can only invoke it from the notification dropdown at this time.
Definitely something to watch though.

Since it is part of Touchwiz which is not open source I'm not surprised at all that a "fix'' has to be hacked together. You're right though, it should just be customizable by default.

Hello I wanted to add the sounds of pulling out and inserting the s pen but the S pen toolbox application crashes after trying to add a sound, someone knows how else to change, the S22 Ultra phone
S Pen toolbox? Is that a separate app? I used Pentastic to change the S Pen sounds.
Why not use the official Samsung app Pentastic? it does the exact same as spentoolbox.
