Sir Lancelot's Holy Grail Tempered Glass Review - Nexus 4 Accessories

A short review about Sir Lancelot's Armor Holy Grail Tempered Glass Screen Protector. (http://www.sirlancelotsarmor.com/collections/lg/products/holy-grail-glass-screen-protector-nexus4)
I'm currently using a glass from Sir Lancelot's and all i can say it's good.
$31.99 for white
$27.99 for black
Hardness: They claim that it has 9h of hardness. I've been using this for almost 2wks and i can say that it doesn't have any scratches even i always drop my phone.
Case compatibility: It works good with official bumper. But my problem is i can't use it on my ringke fusion it lifts up the glass a little bit but its tolerable and i can't use my poetic border line on it because of fitting issues.
Sensitivity: I can say its has no sensitivity issues.
Warranty: They also offer a life time warranty. (http://www.sirlancelotsarmor.com/pages/warranty)
Fingerprints: I don't have fingerprint problems with this screen protector and it's easy to clean.
Others: It's easy to apply and 100% bubble free.
For all it's a good glass and worth for the money. I 100% suggest this tempered glass protectors. ?

I have problems deciding between the Iloome, Xgear Phanton, this one, or the one from MIME USA. I have emailed Mime Usa to see when they are available for the N4 (no buy button on their page). Which one is the best? And later this year Xgear will have the Krystal Sapphire glass for the nexus.
They all seem to be the same to be perfectly honest lol. Anyone got some experience with these protectors?:good:

how does it do with the Ringe Fusion?

In the first post, the OP had mentioned that Ringke Fusion slightly lifted the protector up so he/she chose not to use it.

I currently use the iloome, it's great, ok with PIE UI. However, there is some sensitivity loss compared to a plain screen protector.
I ordered one of these and will report and compare like I did with the Clarivue one.

Jim my friend, dunno why you order various products, but your review will help many to decide which one to choose. Good job buddy!!

LOL Why? Well for one, I am trying to get the perfect tempered glass cover. I have the iloome and may be the one, but it has a hairline scratch on the back side of it. iloome has refunded me the cost, which was awesome, Clarivue, I have my doubts getting any money back from, so saw this one on KS and was hesitant until now. Right now all I want is one that works and letting others know what I went through wouldn't hurt. I mean all these devs on the boards give so much of their time and life, I figured I can give back in some small way.

SL Holy Grail should hit my desk later today! Ok I like the Excalibur themed name...gives me a chuckle every time because of Monty Python, Search for the Holy Grail.

I saw mention of this screen protector not being able to be used with the Ringke Fusion case.
Is anyone willing to sand down the edge of the case a bit and report back on if it still raises the screen protector?

You will run the risk of the adhesive not sticking if you sand anything. I guess one can try if really that desperate.

No the tempered glass. OHHHHHH you wanted someone to sand down the case. Makes sense now lol. Sorry I misread...
Now sanding down the case would compromise the lip and make it look really bad. But thats if I tried sanding it myself. LOL

Some sandpaper, plastic polish and a micrometer screw gauge should be just about everything one should need to undertake this project.
The screw gauge should assist in letting one know when 0.4mm has been sanded off the inside of the lip. This way the phone still fits snug and should cease to raise the screen protector. The plastic polish can be used to rid the hazy sanded plastic look provided the case is made of a solid material that is the same color.
I have already ordered the case but not willing to fish out the extra cash on a screen protector I cant use with my case. Someone must have both and willing to take one for the team in here lol

Nice photos of the Nillkin cases, cant wait for mine to come. Just wondering though, what screen protectors do you have on? Or is there none on?
I also ordered the leather case in grey :highfive:. Ordered on the 1st and still waiting. I bought it from a seller on ebay which ships via hong kong airmail. Just wondering where you ordered, how long it took and if it was delivered at your door or mail? :good:

I am really intrested in this special coating spray, could you tell me how it compares to a screen protector in terms of protection and feel to the hand.
Because I am realy fed up with screen protectors so I would like to give this a try. Can you use it and, not even need a case afterwards?
Thanks in advance,
Is there something that holds the cover closed?

I was once in your shoes. I hated using screen protector. Depending on the brand. Some will have an orange peel effect. Others will have a harder time getting all the bubbles out. I've tried all major brand. Was never satisfied. It always looked like I have a screen protector. Some weren't as smooth to the touch and felt like there was some drag when swiping. But with this liquid armor, you spray twice on the micro fiber cloth supplied and apply to the phones screen and back glass. Wait ten minutes to dry before use. It take about 24hrs to fully cure. The screen feels smooth and responsive just like it would be without a screen protector. I would always recommend to at least have a bumper if you don't want a full case. This product will protect the screen not the phone.

The way the case is made is that there's a little ridge that makes the case flap close perfectly with the rest of the phone. There's no magnets or clicks. I'll try to take a close up picture of that.
Nothing holds the flap. But that seems okay for me, my pocket hold the flap.
As for charging, my lg wireless charger works with this case.
Also, it's not leather... Good fake leather.

Do we really need a screen protector on this phone?

I mean its gorilla glass 3...
Obviously it scratches but not that easy I've heard and every screen protector I've used diminishes the screen, I had a Zagg HD on this and took it off cause the ridiculous haze it has.
I hate screen protectors and cases.. I always carry my devices naked (the phone not me)..
Never had an issue thus far but I am very careful with my devices..

Hmm, yeah the Zagg absolutely sucked.im thinking about getting a glas.tr slim
I currently have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Moshi-iVisor-...-2-catcorr&keywords=moshi+ivisor+xt+galaxy+s4
and am extremely happy with it. doesn't diminish quality at all. I may get the glass.tr slim and compare the two, but so far I love the moshi ivisor xt
my only gripe with it is that it is a dust magnet at first, but I'm a week in and haven't had any issues with that since the first day or two, so it may have been some static electricity or something
I am SUPER careful with my phones... and I understand the gorilla glass 3 is even more scratch resistant... but I only dropped my galaxy s3 one time, from a height of less than 2 feet onto tile, and it still left a nasty scratch right in the center.
I learned my lesson... I got the ghost-armor screen protector for the s4. Very impressed... they do an awesome job of putting it on for you as well, not a single imperfection!

It really depends on how anal you are about scratches. All smartphones, regardless of their glass, have a thin oleophobic coating on them. Its ehat gives the glass that nice, slipper feeling and what makes it easy to clean with just a swipe. This coating gets scratched relatively easily, but the scratches are really only visible when light is reflected on the screen at certain angles. If you care about these kind of scratches, id say get a screen protector. I posted a thread here noting micro scratches on an S4 demo unit that was only a few days old.
Having said that, if you wear earings with precious stones or have a gf/bf that does....get a screen protector! They will ruin your phone. I had the sapphire face on my watch scratched because it came in contact with my girlfriends diamond ring while walking side by side. If you work outdoors, or are a beach bum, get a screen protector for sure as well. A bit of sand on your fingers or shirt can scratch the phone it you swipe it or try to clean it on a your shirt. I personally think its better safe than sorry.....wrap it up son
Don't have a head full of gas. Cover your glass

[?] Dot View Friendly Screen Shield

Hey All!
Quick question. Got a new Dot View case for my M8. Also got cheap screen shields from VZW. When the screen protector was on, the case would not close fully, took it off and now the case closes perfect. I have a Poetic clear case coming in, with no flap that covers screen, and I would like to switch back and forth. Does anyone know of any screen protectors that work 100% with the Dot View, allowing it to close FULLY?
Thanks!
I've been asking the same question. Hate how HTC left zero wiggle room on their dot case closure myself as well. Someone mentioned the Mime Feather tempered glass protector. Just got mine in the mail yesterday and going to install it later today. Hopefully this works. I too would like to switch between cases as dot view isn't oratical for me everyday use but cool for certain occassions. Hope this helps.

Will do. Should know by tomorrow and will update. Let's both cross our fingers here.
Well that was a waste of $30. It closes maybe .5mm more than the $8 Chinese generic tempered glass .3mm thick protector I originally had on it. Yes this protector is crazy thin but obviously not thin enough. Guess HTC really did make it impossible to have a protector on with this dot view case cus no protector is going to be thinner than this one! Looks like we're SOL! Weak

Thanks for sharing. This blows. Lol
Anything thicker than a simple thin layer anti-glare screen will probably cause issue.
Example: Tempered Glass adds so much thickness the screen no longer fits correctly.

Your first dot view case? U where able to switch it out cus it didn't close all the way with protector on screen? Can u explain please? I know Zach is thick like the generic tempered glass, .3mm when my Mime Feather is like .1mm
I'm waiting for some generic knockoff ones to come out. Shouldn't be difficult for companies to reproduce right? It just uses a magnet or something to allow the phone to know to activate the dotview app.

Looking for a backless bumper for my new Note 4

So I jumped in and pre-ordered a T-Mobile Note 4 today..
I am looking for a rubberized bumper to put on the phone.. but one that is backless..
Now I know this will hide the beautiful metal sides, but after seeing my Note 3 fall soo many times.. and ONLY be saved because i had a rubber bumper on it, I need one for the Note 4.. But, I love the leather feel of the back of the Note.. so I don't want a bumper that has any kind of back..
I saw this metal one on Ebay.. but will this offer any kind of the same protection as a rubber one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/111458796796
What I have on my Note 3:

Wait some time and you'll find some on ebay. Don't go with the metal bumpers, it will lower the reception. Notice that there are cutouts in the metal band of the phone itself for the antennas. It also messed with my GPS reception when I had one for my Note 2 and 3. Plus it add little drop protection versus the rubber/TPU ones
If you find a nice bumper, please post info. I would be interested. I picked up the Spigen Ultra Hybrid; it has a clear back.
maybe?

That has clear plastic on the back. It will get scratched on day one and look like crap.
I am in the same boat as the OP. If any of you find a TPU style bumper, post it up. The back of a phone is strong. I just want corner protection and a slight lip on the front to protect the glass on the screen.

You are incorrect. Look at it again and read the description. No front screen protector or backing.bumper only.

Please let us know how it turns out. I would like to possibly get a similar bumper if it's decent quality and lifts the screen off a flat surface.

Where did you get this bumper? Would you sell it to me?

Wait some time and you'll find some on ebay. Don't go with the metal bumpers, it will lower the reception. Notice that there are cutouts in the metal band of the phone itself for the antennas. It also messed with my GPS reception when I had one for my Note 2 and 3. Plus it add little drop protection versus the rubber/TPU ones

I put a thin metal right behind the phone so that my phone can be held up by magnet on the car CD slot holder. Have you heard of any lower reception bc of this?

Looking forward to pics and your feedback. I really like the feel of the new back and would like to have something smaller than the Spigen Tough Armor as an alternative.

I got the case today.. and put it on my phone..
Pros: It IS backless... so it will definitely protect the phone, while allowing you to feel the faux leather back of the Note.. and it has a bit of a raised lip to catch the phone from a full face smackdown on the floor.
Cons: It is... really smooth.. too smooth.. Walking around NYC today without a case, the metal ridge of the sides of the phone felt secure in my hands.. but with the case on, it feels like it might slip out of my hand.. sigh.. I wish it was either more rough or had some kind of edge to grip on..
I'm going to keep this case.. but also keep my eye out for another one that will feel more secure in my hands, while protecting the phone.

Perfect Skin and Protector for Note 9

My dream phone Galaxy Note 9 needed top notch protection. Didn't want to take a risk, so went on to hunt for the best of the best SKIN & SCREEN protector and found the perfect one. GadgetShieldz It Is!
Just amazed at the way it eliminates the scratches. The major part is it just cuddles the whole screen right till the edge of the screen glass. Also very hard to figure out whether it is applied or not.
The Skin too protects the back, camera lens (a big +) from scratches and gives the mobile a total grip. If you are looking to use your phone without any bulk, this must be the protection to go for. Go for the case fit screen protector if you are planning to use a case.

I don’t use S Pen much but from whatever I used, the S Pen works normally as it should without any screen protector. Even the Air commands work perfectly alright. Didn’t see any depressions or scratches on the screen.
And the bubbles can be seen if your installation goes wrong, but it will all get vanished within a day. Trick is to squeeze out as much as moisture as possible immediately after confirming the alignment. I didn’t get even a single bubble.

They offer a case fitting screen protector too on their website. So I think those should work with any case.
I applied and checked, it fits perfectly.

Nevertheless, happy with the results. My mobile now looks amazing!

Obviously wasn't taken with a note 9 camera
The dragon skin looks really cool. Also, the camo was cool too.
My custom SlickWraps is coming in today. Thanks for the post.

Obviously not .
Custom SlickWraps. I did a pretty bad job of applying it. It still looks good, but tiny imperfections make the whole thing underwhelming IMO. But I'll get over it. Also, the bulge is a metal plate for the magnetic phone holders.
I've got a spare Slickwraps skin, so I'm giving it away to someone in the UK

Sopiguard Skin - 3m Color Shift Deep Space
Haven't really seen many ppl mention the above brand but was using them on my s8+
Using one of those skins that change colors - this one goes between purple and green - don't really get copper like the pics indicate but still cool nonetheless

Nope, not much. Other than scratch protection, skins doesn't give any protection.
Ordered from Gadgetshieldz on 25th August and I'm still waiting for it to arrive!
I am in the UK, but even stuff from China doesn't take longer than 2 weeks. This is my first time ordering stuff from India, and will probably be the last.
