[Q] What is the Screen Sizes for App Development - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As I understand it, the Asus Transformer Pad will be 1920x1200 screen size. What are the dimensions to use when developing the graphic assets? How many pixels does the system bar use?

The resolution for the TF300 Transformer Pad is 1280 x 800, not 1920x1280. The Transformer TF700 is the one with the HD screen :silly:

I didn't think I specified the model just Asus Transformer Pad with 1920x1280 screen. That was an incorrect input on my part. I meant 1920x1200. My bad old measurements stuck in the brain. Can you answer my original query? What are the dimensions to use when developing the graphic assets? How many pixels does the system bar use?

Best tablet €250-€400 with WIFI + 3G ?

There are a lot of tablets, best now would be ipad2 - samsung galaxy but they have the same prices.
Then there is the HTC Flyer - Acer Iconia - Archos 101.
Then we have laptops with tablets that can be clicked out like the Asus EEE Pad transformer (which is good but the 2 is comming out soon) and the Dell Inspiron duo 3232 which has a lot of flaws.
These are the most famous that come to my mind. On Ebay there are a lot of alternatives (or older versions) with better prices, but no one knows how they perform, some with wifi only, some with both.
Samsung P1010 :

This one is really weird, 320GB, what is this, some kind of tablet?

Flytouch 3 Superpad 2:

A 3G+WIFI+320GB (tablet?) but with Windows7 not optimised for touch :

Even a 500GB!! :

What are these last 2, they seem perfect, but in reality junk with no good touch-screen and poor touch-capabilities due to Win7?
At the moment I think Ipad 2 or EEE pad transformer are the best.
But maybe i'm waiting for Ipad 3 & EEE pad transformer 2.
What are your thoughts about those links and any tip for a 3G+WIFI tablet between €250-€400 which has a good screen and works fluent?
Thanks!

ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 VS Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 -10.1

Hello. I am looking to buy a 10 inch Android Tablet for around $400...which one is better ? or is there a better one avaiable within this price range. Thanks in advance.....
Asus!
Hi, both these tablets have ics, but the Asus is much more powerful with a quad core processor, im not sure what the Samsung has, also the Asus has a better front facing camera, and it has many more ports so you can put micro sd in the tablet, same as the Samsung but the Asus has more ports on the keyboard dock also.
If I were you and you wanted to play games and do things smoothly then get the Asus, I would get the ASUS, hope I helped, Go here to do a proper comparison site
Type Tablet nation into Google and click on the first one, then scroll down a bit and click compare all tablets then click the asus and sgt2 im not allowed to put links so youll have to go the long way.

TF700 sluggish compare to TF300

The difference is amazing. How come the TF300 is smoother when it comes to browsing/switching apps and in some games like Lets Golf 3 compare to the TF700 ?
Both tablets are running latest updates.
Any tips ? Thanks
Maybe because the TF300 has less than half the pixels of the TF700?
I noticed my Tf700 was extremely slow until I flashed Cleanrom 2.3. Now it's fine. I think Asus might have been a little lazy when creating the TF700. I feel like all they did was address the GPS/WIFI problem on the prime and add slightly clocked up processor. These minor modifications definitely can't support the high resolution screen and for some reason the Infinity has some memory speed problems, which can be fixed by flashing Cleanrom 2.3

Isnt the faster processor suppose to compensate for this ?
Not necessarily. The faster processor is the same processor, just the clock speed is higher, which doesnt really make too big of a difference. The gpu is the same and memory speeds really lack. Asus really didnt do well optimizing this tablets software to its specs

No idea what your talking about. My sisters tf300 is a snail compared to my tf700. Something is wrong with your infinity...

If you have a chance, you should try to use the tf300 for a more extended period of time (I assume your experience with the tf300 was a few minutes at some computer shop). The tf300 I have tried at the shops are always really fast, my guess would be they are in factory condition, no 3rd party apps to slow things down. Since the screen on the tf300 has a much lower resolution, I believe it should be a very fast tablet. A fair comparison can only be made by those you have spent a substantial amount of time with both tablets.

It's much less than twice as fast:
Tegra T30L (TF300): 1.2 GHz CPU (1.3 on 1 core), 416 MHz GPU
Tegra T33 (TF700): 1.6 GHz CPU (1.7 on 1 core), 520 MHz GPU

tx, that explain why it is so slow...
1920x1280 is way too much for this combo
Ok a bit slugish, but what a screen. I like the resolution a lot.
Since I flashed cleanrom 2.3 plus Clemsyn's universal kernel my tf700 flies. quadrant score before (4700) after (6172). All I can say is WOW. update quad now(6231) rom must be settling down.

[Q] Is it possble - construct the tablet you wish from two particular tablets?

I want ASUS VivoTab Smart ME400C becose of Atom processor and full Windows 8. But I don't like its HD screen - 1366x768 only And I don't like its defective keyboard!
I want ASUS Transformer pad Infinity TF700T becose of its perfect case (with fine keyboard) and FHD screen (1920x1200). But I hate its stuffing with Android on board
So, becose of comparable sizes of its cases, I'd like to buy both ASUS ME400C & TF700T and, than, to cast the stuffing of TF700T and put inside its case the stuffing from ME400C, connecting it to all jacks on board and touchscreen loop. Becose of one manufacturer, everything will be joined without problems. As a result, I will gain the 'Frankenstein' tablet with perfect case and FHD screen with ideal Atom stuffing and Windows 8 on board!
Any objections except costs?

[Q] Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 and Netgear PTV3000

Recently I bought an Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 and Netgear PTV3000 from Amazon. I have upgraded to the latest firmware on both devices and there is no problem connecting the MeMO Pad HD 7 to PTV3000. I have video and audio through my HD TV but I can only mirror wirelessly at a resolution of 640x480. The screen is not stretched to fit so I see this thick black ugly border around the display. I also tested on another TV and PC monitor (both capable of displaying up to 1920x1080 FHD), and the result is the same.
Has anyone else tried using the wireless display function on the MeMO Pad HD 7 with a PTV3000 and experienced the above mentioned problem? Are there any other Miracast HDMI receiver/dongles that work nicely with Asus MeMO Pad HD 7? Thank you.
Found this, hope it helps
