Looks like the QiMini, a few threads below this one. The other is slated to ship by end of March.

No way I would pay 60. Could not pull the trigger on the nexus orb because of the price.

For the same price, I'd rather get the ORB.

I keep seeing slipping issues with the orb and that's why I never got it. I've been looking for a wireless charger but I'm to scared to go with the orb becuz of the issues people are reporting. This and the qmini look like the second best option IMO.

not EVERYONE is getting this slipping issue. If you have problems just return it. I'm 100% happy with mine. My phone sticks to it like no other and does not slip.

Same here. And I love the idea of having a smaller one for travel purposes.

These things would still be a rip off at 20 quid, what on earth are than manufacturers playing at.

Where there is demand, you will continue to see these exorbitant prices. Give it another year or so, prices will fall.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to an exchange for one that doesn't slip.

Problem is none should be having the slipping issue, especially if I'm paying 70 bucks for one. Why risk wasting my money on something I'm not sure will not have a problem. I'll pass on going through all of that hassle and look elsewhere (which I'm currently doing).

I may actually consider this for my PT Cruiser console mod if I can't figure out how to build one myself. Expensive? Sure, but considering I could just cut a hole, glue in this bad boy and wire it into the car pretty easily, may be worth the time saved...

actually i like the qimini retractable usb plug better. in that last video the lg usb plug looks awkward

Galaxy S4 Spare Batteries

I'm interested to get your opinions on what spare batteries to get for your S4. I've been eyeballing these Anker batteries (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CBTZ2AG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1369320958&sr=8-2&pi=SL75) but cheaper is always better (for quality batteries). What deals have you found?
Before this turns into a flame fest for battery saving mods, let me tell you that I can drain any phone's battery and I don't mind carrying a spare. I have 3 spares for my Note 2. I rarely cut on wifi and GPS is always enabled. I'd much rather fully drain a battery and pop in a fresh one than plug in my phone for any amount of time. So please keep the discussion about batteries and not how to limit yourself and save battery.

I'm right there with you on the level of phone abuse. I'm coming from the S3 and I carried 4 extra batteries and have killed 4 in a day. I don't have any real stats yet because its day 1 on this phone, but I bought 2 of the onite batteries from Amazon, with the charger. I don't have any issues with fit.etc and so far.today they are holding up as good as my S3 batteries would. I'll update in a day or two with the battery life

dang. props to you. i couldnt carry around and about a phone that thick in my pocket. hahaha...even given the crazy good battery life. i'd always rather pick up 2 or 3 stock batteries instead of a extended.

Yeah I'm used to the bulk with my iPhone 5 I run a mophie juice pack too. I need as much power as I can get without carrying chargers and extra batteries

I carry 2 phones on me. work gives me an iphone 5 and this S4. i carry an anker portable battery charger in my laptop bag everywhere i go. i prefer to be lighter in the pockets.

For my N2, I keep a battery at work, one in the laptop bag, and one at home. And I have external chargers at work and at home. I always have juice!

I didn't show the expanded views but thats with almost 3 hours of screen time and 150 text along with 85 minutes of talk time. Its day one so I dont have any comparison to the Samsung battery, but I'm very satisfied with the battery life so far.

You do know that those are NOT OEM batteries, but knock off's.

I buy the Samsung cradle that comes with the spare oem battery, and my friends at sprint and vzw always throw me free extras, I already have 2 spares

I read a review comparing the stock, a ching ching oem knock off, and an anker. The knock off was garbage, stock was... well, stock, and anker was barely better than stock. I'll try to find it. It wasn't an in depth test by any means though.

Nope s3 battery is 2100 mAH and s4 is 2600...

Also I had GREAT experience with anker battery on the note 2. Did better than the stock battery.

I keep hearing that the third party batteries are thicker than the OEMs and cause bulges on the back cover.. What's the verdict on the ones posted above?

[Metrans] New Generation White Premium Qi Wireless Charging Pad - $42

I was searching through amazon today and found this qi charger that is exactly the same as the Metrans wireless charging puck found here:

I looked through the video and photos and they both say air box on the bottom. They are exactly the same in terms of design and quality even though this is listed as GMYLE for some reason. Its almost $20 cheaper. Here is the link on amazon:

When I bought it there was 7 left, now there are only 6 left. Its $37.49 + $4.49 shipping was is a great deal instead of buying a cheap plastic, generic one.

only difference I notice is the status led. the metrans is white. I've never seen it green or red during charging.

I'm debating on whether or not to buy it. I've read the thread and the review from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153418 and I think it's awesome but have always shied away because of the price + availability in the USA. I don't have any excuse now... so I might buy it. I love the auto-off feature when it gets hot but at the same I feel like the phone staying at high temperature for an extended period of time while it charges may not be great for the long term.

Their website looks pretty cool.. of coarse that doesn't mean that their selling original products but it's more likely that they are.
EDIT 2: I noticed on their website it says that Input:
DC 5V / 1.2A
Output: 5V / 1A
while the eBay and the review from the thread listed above states that it should be
Input 5V / 2A
Output: 5V / 1A
OK EDIT 3: So I tried to email them from the address on their website which says [email protected]. But when I look at the mailto it says [email protected] lol. I don't know why it says Clever Gadgets UK when the company is located in California. I don't know how much I trust this retailer.

Well if you have access to ordering from Verizon in the US I would suggest getting the LG WCP-300 instead since with tax and free shipping it came to $42. The Amazon price is currently at $45.49+$4.49 shipping. I love the LG haven't dealt with the metrans one yet though.

It's supposed to be really nice with this auto off feature when the phone reached 40 degrees Celsius. That's one of the selling points for me. Also, it's a little more expensive now. Used to be 38.

I bought the Amazon one from GMYLE even after all the research I did. I'll let you know how that one goes. The only reason I decided to get Amazon over ahappydeal is because at least I can trust Amazon to back me up in the event that they send me a fake.
I'll post in the thread when I get it/test it.

Ok guys, I got my charger from the Amazon listing. It's legit, no mix-ups and knockoffs here. It's the same box and packaging from the eBay listing (Air Box) and also shows a picture of the Nexus 4 on the side of the box. It's got this super cool pulsating white light when the phone is charging (not the green/red that the Amazon photo depicts) which is awesome. Like the Macbook Pro light if you have ever seen them. You can see the light in the second picture as well.
It works as advertised, charges when you place it on it. I'm still experimenting with it but I think it looks a lot cooler than the LG one. I'm still experimenting with the temperature, it's at 41 degrees celsius right now (It's like almost 100 degrees ferinheight where I'm at right now (no AC just ceiling fan) so that may have a little to do with the temperature.
Would also like to note that the Amazon listing has the incorrect amp on the power supply. It's actually 2A (like it's supposed to be). Picture included below.

It's not about the price for me. I feel like this is a more premium looking, overall better charger. That's just me though.
EDIT: Should say that it kinda sucks, but sucks a little less than the LG IMO.

This charger works well...however there are some things that it does that seem abnormal. When I put the phone on the charger sometimes the led lights on the charger flashes but the phone is not charging...anyone else have this problem?

Your phone isn't on the sweet spot. Make sure the bottom of the phone is aligned with the charger's edge

Update: the charger charges well through overnight...when I wake up in the morning it is usually 98-100% (8hours sleep)...holds it at full well...as suggested make sure your bottom of your phone is at the edge of charger

I'm curious, do you feel comfortable charging the phone overnight even though it gets super hot? Have you noticed anything odd going on with the battery ever since you started charging over night? I don't use the charger that much because it gets way too hot for it to be good for the phone.

It is a bit hot but nothing odd going on...it stops charging once it hits 100...it then cools down a little bit...then when it goes lower again it just pulse charges

Mine is not a review unit. Bought it from supercosmos(ebay). LTE is fine in my area. Which is surprising for a korean phone nowadays. Normally its just 3G.

I remember a few years ago, the S3 or some other device had this deal as well. I got one of those as well. The title for this "freebie" is a little misleading as it says extra battery, charger and cradle, but nowhere do I see a cradle in the promo pictures. Do they mean battery cradle (charger) that they're showing?

I get what he's saying. Maybe we both read it wrong, but my impression before I looked at what was actually shipping was that a "charging cradle" would be shipping. I think the issue is that some of us remember what charging cradles look like in the past for phones. The listing to me (before I read examined it thoroughly) made it seem like it came with an SD card, a 3000mAh battery, and a charging cradle -- meaning, a cradle that you can put the phone in and charge the phone. The only charging cradle I had in the past was sort of a mount that you popped the phone in (connected to the USB port on the bottom) and just behind that it had a place where you put the extra battery in to charge that at the same time.

I am from those days, which is what I read when I read "cradle" so, exactly, this is a battery charger, not a cradle in which you put in a device and an extra charging bay in the back for an extra battery.

How much do you want to spend and how big of a capacity are you looking for?

I've just ordered the note 7 backpack from Samsung for £44 from ballicom.co.uk.
Didnt want a separate bank as the connectors break if not taken care of. For my note 5 I had a zerolemon which was great.

Find one that has these features
- supports charging the device with Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 over usb c
- battery pack has a fast charge system.. I think some anker devices have a special high output wall port that charges at 4 amps.. charging a battery pack at 1 amp can take like 24 hours..
- supports apple 18 watt charging through usb c and lightning.. 2.7amp I think?
These features would make it a good investment so you can use it with any device.
If you get a large battery pack and it does not charge at a higher amperage, it's going to take forever to charge up....also go with Quick Charge 3.0 over 2.0 for future devices

This one is not bad, takes a while to charge the phone but it does it wireless, and you can charge with a cable too.

I'm fairly interested in the first pocketable power bank that you've suggested. It seems small and that's exactly what I was looking for. The biggest capacity I found was 5200 mAh. But 10k is amazing. Thanks for the find!

Aukey 20000mAh. It's amazing but takes a while to charge (obviously due to power size). Used it when I had a 6 hour bus trip to/from work so I could play games or stream movies/music during that time. It's bigger than my note7 though (roughly half inch in each dimension), and fairly heavy so not really for the average day to day, but while traveling or having it in your backpack/bag when not using it, it's wonderful. I take it with me camping and basically any road trips or anything.
