I tried scouring the internet for this and couldn't find a solution and even went to the Koodo booth (although I had low hopes they could help at all).
Bought a Droid Razr Maxx HD for use on the Koodo network (Canadian) because I heard it was internationally GSM unlocked. I've read of people successfully using it on Bell, Rogers, Fido, etc.
I am able to call people, receive calls and receive texts but for some reason or another I cannot get a 3G signal or send out texts. I don't even have any bars of reception either. I've tried full wiping and re-installing the rom, turning on SMS over IMS, entering in the carrier-specific SMSC all to no avail. Does anyone know how to remedy the situation or even have any ideas on how to do so?
I am on Xenon HD if that means anything.

Might want to try one of the SIM apps in the play store, SIM Info or Offline SIM APN Database are a couple of good ones. These will read your SIM and then you can check the settings.

Just wanted to start some discussion amongst the users of this phone in Canada. I bought mine from Amazon.com, went through the official T-Mobile unlock code procedure (what a pain in the ass) before the unlock techniques came out.
I've got it on an unlimited data/calling/txt plan through Mobilicity currently.
I am currently using Glorious Overdose V2 on it, but there are still some things I haven't gotten to work, anybody else have any luck with these?
1 I've added the APNs as indicated here:

...but MMSes don't work, they just say "Downloading" and never do.
2. Data (2G) roaming doesn't work: the phone connects to "CDN Roaming", the data indicator shows the phone sending data, but the phone never receives any data from the network. Phone calls work, data doesn't though.

I can receive MMS from overseas BUT i cannot send them. In US all is fine but not international..All settings are fine as well as data settings. Any idea ? it says "pending" in the message status and never goes
It happens with all my international contacts in different carriers. I have not be able to sent mms international all tho i have try several times, with 3 different countries, one was Romania, the other was Italy and the other was Greece. I'm more interested for Greece (my relatives are there), i have receive several mms (mostly pics) from them, from different providers ( Vodafone, Wind, and Cosmote) but every time i send one (in any of their carriers) never goes through and getting a permanent "pending" under status of mms. I have use the standard message app that came with my phone (LG G2X) as well and other apps like Handcend sms, but none goes through. Here in US all good, but not international. so i'm wondering if there is a special setup i have to do in the phone for that or our carrier have restrict this feature.. This problem is ONLY with MMS and NOT with SMS since all sms i have send there are going all through). My data program is unlimited as well and the messaging. On T-Mobile network full signal and 4g when i try. G2X is rooted but stock Rom. I have try most of troubleshooting (reboot, airplane manual set carrier etc) with no results. T mobile support says all working ok with network. Any info on settings or how i can fix this will be greatly appreciated. . Thank you in advance.

Hm.. I spoke with T-mobile the other day since I'm leaving for Australia in a couple of weeks, and they had to initiate some kind of "unlock" process so that the G2x could operate on international networks (assuming I understood them correctly). I don't know if this is simply for use outside the US or for use between other countries and the US.
But, at the time, my G2x was rooted, running Paranoid Android CM10 (build 8?). They asked for my IMEI number and things went along without a hitch. Don't know if this helps but I'm thinking there might have to be some kind of activation process to allow the phone to communicate internationally.

Thanks for the reply BUT my phone its already unlocked to work internationally (every provider that finances a handset locks it so you cannot use it with another carrier b4 the contract expires and if you need to use it then they send you an unlock code).
My problem is this : I can receive MMS from overseas BUT i cannot send them. and i'm based in US.

Sorry about that - I seem to have missed the part where you can still receive overseas...
If you're phone is already unlocked to use internationally, then I don't know what else could it be since you've tried both stock and 3rd party message apps. Have you tried sending via wifi?

I have a Verizon S3 that was working in America flawlessly. I am on long-term travel in Europe and cannot get any signal with my German o2 SIM card. I have tried the hiAPN, APN Manager Pro, and Offline SIM APN methods, however I cannot register on any of the APNs found. When I try to manually connect to an APN, I get a connection error.
I have heard of others being able to get their Verizon S3 working abroad, however it seems they are at least able to see bars and connection. All I see is a circle with a slash through it.
Thoughts? Trying not to re-purchase the same phone.

Have you tired putting it in GSM or global mode under settings / mobile networks?.

Yes.
Use phone info app to select network type. I use Verizon GS3 in india with network type Gsm auto prl. I have no issues with data, calls or messages. Are you able to make calls or send messages?

Hey all. I just got my hands on the note edge from a friend. He says its unlocked although it was originally at&t (symbol on back cover). I put my tmobile sim in there and it seemed to work just fine. I was able to make calls and send and receive texts, etc. I did notice that I was unable to get data connectivity like 4g/LTE which I was getting on my old unlocked s4. It would just show the bars but not 4g/LTE/3g symbols. Are there any fixes for this or tricks to get the data to work or will it not be able get it at all because it was at&t to begin with and Im using a Tmobile sim? I would not call myself an expert around phones. The most I have done is install a different ROM but that was with supervision haha. I also tried to search for USSD codes but didnt have any luck with that.
Any help or advice is appreciated!

Recently purchased the Xperia Z5 (E6653) and I am having some serious issues with calls on T-Mobile USA.
Calls don't dial out (or it takes multiple tries) and calls won't come in when the phone is connected to 4g (LTE); they go straight to Voicemail. I missed about 12 phone calls yesterday - just getting voicemail after vaoicemail till I realized something was wrong on my side. If I toggle off the LTE it drops to Edge (no HSPA+) and calls come in fast and outgoing calls are made with no problem.
I tried to reset the phone, then repair the software with the Sony Companion app. Still same issue. Looked online for the APN settings. Tried various ones. Re-downloaded the Internet/MMS via the phone itself. Same issue. Tried my wife's sim and it was still doing the same. I have a spare 5s and it worked fine both incoming and outgoing calls. So, it doesn't seem like its the sim card.
I have Rev 2 of this phone so I am not sure if that is anything to be concerned about. Am I missing something...any help on this would be appreciated.

No, it said band 2 with LTE Discovery. I am on the verge of sending it back. Swap it for another one. Let's see.
From what I have gathered/read - it should really be straight forward. Pop in sim, load Internet settings, and it should work on T-Mobile. The APN settings are correct.
Doesn't makes sense for it to completely not work on 4g and go to 2G (Edge) while skipping 3g. I'm wondering if the baseband might just be wonky. I just see this as causing more problems down the road which I don't want from a $520 device.
Any advice is welcome because I am ordering the same phone again. Lemons are always possible.
Could it be possible because I live a relatively rural area (East TN) and the phone does not support AWS? Since it doesn't support T-Mobile VoLTE and doesn't have AWS it is defaulting to 2G? Is this an issue in all areas or just rural? Apparently the E6683 variant doesn't have this problem as it supports AWS.

That means ur phone should work fine with T-mobile,maybe go and get a replacement from where you bought it.
