I have found two possible methods:
1. See this method with a Chinese tool:
http://androidworld.nl/forum/wolfga...t-as40se-cwm-recovery.html?page=1#post-426457
2. Using the English tool from http://www.srsroot.com/ (method 5 of the tool is said to be supported)
Please let me know which one worked for you.

Have you looked into the super one click method? Its really simple and it works on most android phones and OSs. There are only a few it doesn't work on. Search here. On xda for the most recent version. There's atleast one video on youtube if it helps to see how to do it first.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

great root tool
Hi I used this guide to root my cubot a890:
droidchina.com/forum/Thread-Auto-Root-MTK6589-One-click-root
(you can skip the step of pdanet drivers when you already have working ADB drivers)
make sure you have usb debugging switched on.
unzip the root tool on your pc and open run.bat (run.sh for linux users included)
after that follow the steps and you should have root!
have fun with you're rooted phone!

If you need drivers install snap pea, it installs drivers for most of these chinese made phones:
http://www.snappea.com/
If that dont work, this is a bit longer and harder to do but this will root any MT65XX device: (directions in post #5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
Hope this helps!
